Resizing a drawn rectangle removes 'snap to pixels' and gives blurry edges, why?

Hi,
When i draw a rectangle in photoshop i have to make sure that the "Snap to pixels" is enabled otherwise it will draw a rectangle with blurry edges (firstly why on earth does photoshop do this since its a vector graphic...). I need to then resize this rectangle with free transform (while it is still a vector) however this causes the blurry edges to show again on th rectangle. How do i use the free transform on a rectangle with perfectly crisp edges without causing the blurry effect again?

Using the gridlines can be a little tricky, you have to look at all the corners before
you commit the transform and make sure you have View>Snap checked or the
path won't snap to the gridlines.
Another option would be to use paths instead of shape layers and then when your
certain of the size and position of the path, use the fill paths option with anti-alias turned off
and 0 feather radius.
Right click the path in the paths panel and choose Fill Path.

Screen turns pixelated and crazy colors! WHY?!

Hey, so I've had my MacBook Pro for a while and have never had any problems with it, but recently it's been doing this super weird thing.
When I'm on the internet (I use FireFox) and I go to a page that I need to input a username and password, I use an AddOn called Sxipper that remembers all my stuff for me. So when I'm on the page and Sxipper comes up with the list of my usernames and stuff, it used to just dim the rest of the page. Now, instead of dimming the page, it changes the colors to be all whacky and pixelated and I don't know why or how to fix it.
I've tried uninstalling Sxipper but it still happens on some sites, like sites that have changing ads on the sides (when the ads are changing, they change colors around super fast and then when they are ready to be the new ad the colors go back to normal). It also happens when I'm typing an address into the browser, All my stuff is up to date and I've tried running TechTool to see if there are any problems, but it says everything is fine.

FYI... <When I'm on the internet (I use FireFox) and I go to a page that I need to input a username and password> Why not allow Keychain which is in your Applications/Utilities folder do this for you instead of a 3rd party application...

How do I completely remove all of firefox and give it a clean install?

Every time I go to yahoo.com one of the plugins I have installed crashes firefox. I can't quite figure out which one it is, I deactivate them or run FF in safe mode and it still crashes. I've uninstalled FF and reinstalled with the newest version and all the plugins and bookmarks carry over so I can't get a clean install. I was able to install an older version of FF and it worked fine. So short of running old unsafe software or trolling through my registry and potentially messing more things up, I am at a loss.

Anything that is involved with LSP (i.e. links itself in the network connection) is suspicious.

Why when I resize an image does it looks less sharp and poor quality?

I've been using Photoshop since CS3 and have never had thus problem before. I used to create websites using WordPress for clients and have created many different logo images without any issues. Now however I'm doing it for muself and I'm having problems when I resize the images for web use.
Here are a few examples. The first is a 1400x1400 image that I'm going to use for a podcast. iTunes requires this size and it looks good to my eye. When you look at the resized image however you'll see that it is not quite as sharp.

I've tried all different things to get it to look good at any size but no mater what when the image gets resized (especially by a CMS or Twitter) it looks like crap. I've tried saving as png, jpeg, flatteing before resizing, resizing the psd, saving as jpeg then resizing, using save for web option but no matter what it doesn't look right.
What am I doing wrong?

When you scale down, you will lose some of the sharpness because it is removing pixels from the image, and Photoshop is trying to figure out how to remove pixels, and reassemble the edges of the image.. As a result, when some of that shading is removed, it begins to blur. Make sure when scaling down an image (image - image size) that you set the resampling to bicubic sharper. This will help to reduce the blur from the pixel removal.
Also, you can go to filter - sharpen - unsharp mask - and work on bringing back some of the sharpness there as well.
For your twitter logo - I would make a separate logo for it, because the text is difficult to read over it. Sorry - just my opinion there.

Holding Shift when creating Vector Shape - No snap to pixels!

I'm experiencing the following problem:
When creating vector shapes and holding shift the shape do not snap to pixel. Snap to pixels is turned on.
It is pretty strange.

Initially when do not hold shift shapes is pixel perfect. As you can see in the image first 2 shapes are made free hand.

Instead of holding the shift key try pressing the + key to change the path operations to Add to Shape Area and the - key to subtract from shape area.
That is strange behaviour compared to cs5 where having snap to pixels checked for the rectangle tool does align the edges when holding down shift
where as cs6 13.01 doesn't align the edges when holding shift either with the snap vector preferences of align edges checked.
It only seems to align the pixels when snap vectors in the preferences is checked and using add to shape area is actually selected in the drop down.
That's what the plus key does.
I guess i was under the impression that align edges was supposed to be the same as the snap to pixels was in cs5.

How to completely remove Snap.do. Nothing here works.

Snap.do, what mire is there to say. Ad/Remove doesn't get rid of it. Reset Firefox to default does not either.
Windows Security Essentials and Malwarebytes are finding well over a dozen trojans. Is there a simple fix?

Snap.do is troublesome, but I might be able to help here.
First, run scans again with Malwarebytes and microsoft security Essentials (make sure you update them and run full scans).
After scanning, restart your computer.
Then, open up your control panel, remove anything related to snap.do, browser protect, etc. Restart your computer again.
Then go to the Add-ons manager in Firefox, remove snap.do. Restart Firefox.
Then open up Firefox, type about:config into the address bar, press Enter. Search for snap.do, Reset anything that says snap.do.
This should help, let me know if it doesnt

Line tool "snap to pixel" option?

This issue has been bugging me ever since Adobe introduced vector shapes in PS. Adding the "snap to pixels" option to the shapes has been awesome... but where's the love for the line tool? I'm still forced to use the marquee tool to make a sharp line 1px line.

It produces "good" lines, but not pixel pefect lines. I just tried creating a 1px line at 100% and still the line spilled out of it's pixel. I've attached what I see.

Cropping when moving and resizing a cropping rectangle

I created a program that crops an image and displays the cropped image but I'm trying to add more functionality
by making it movable and resizable. The rectangle moves and resizes but it only crops an image when user draws the rectangle and not when moved or resized. I know that the X,Y, height and width position of the rectangle would need to be updated but I'm not

The ResizeThumb and MoveThumb is not in your code so I cannot compile. Anyway, it is not the problem.
Anyway, can you clarify more details about "it only crops an image when user draws the rectangle and not when moved or resized", it is already normal behavoir for you to draw a rectangle and then move it. What kind of action do you want? Do you

repositioning everything in ones Flash project to whole-number, or
integer positions and sizes? Flash's "Snap to Pixels" doesn't
really work, and despite making sure that everything I design (such
as shapes and texts) has integer positions and sizes to begin with,
they tend to end up at non-integer positions as time passes by. How
the hell? It's is annoying, inaccurate, blurry, and it compromises
my designs.
Is there a fix?

How to create the selectable-resizable-movable transparent rectangle box?

Hai,
I want to create selectable-resizable-movable Transparent Rectangle box.This rectangular box may be moved and/or resized by putting the mouse pointer on a side or corner of the rectangle box.
This is for cropping the image where rhe rectangle is selected. Please help how to write the code.

Unless you're doing something special here (I'm not too sure what you mean by 'may not cover the background image'), I don't think you need an 'effect'.
Try this:

How do you remove snap to grid in Garageband 10.0.2? I can't find it anywhere.

Basically in older versions of Garageband, there used to be a setting under Control >> Snap to Grid and you could toggle it on and off. In this new version, I found that a lot of different, basic things that I knew how to do are no longer there, or are way harder to do. Snap to grid is one of those things, and I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know how to turn off snap to grid?

Choose Edit > Snap to Grid from the "Edit" menu.
The "Snap to grid" option is not always visible. I am seeing it only, when a software instrument track is selected, the track editor window is open for that track, and a region in the track is selected.

I've been using Aperture now for the past 7 months and really happy with it, however in the past two days any photos I download are heavily pixelated and blurry. When I download the same shots to any other program they are fine.

I've been using Aperture now for several months without any issues except for the last couple of days...when I now download my shots from the memory card the photos are heavily pixelated and blurry but when loaded to iPhoto they are fine.
Can someone tell me what the problem could be and how to fix it.

Is Aperture doing any processing? ("Window→Show Activity" -- anything there?)
Are the Images pixilated/degraded when shown in the Viewer as well as in the Browser? (Double-click an Image to open it in the Viewer.)
How 'bout at 100%? (In the Viewer, press "z" to zoom to 100%. The "z" key toggles the zoom.)
Does generating a new Preview remove the pixilation? (Select an Image in the Browser, hold down "{Option}" and click "Photos→Generate Preview".)

PRE 9 - Photos - recommendation for pixel and resolution setting

I would like to integrate photos in between video segments, as well as on the actual video. Before bringing these photos into PRE 9, what should I resize the photos to (pixels and resolution). I will be using Premiere Elements to resize the photos. I'm burning a HD DVD at 1920x1080 pixels.

I agree with Neale. Scaling the images in PS/PSE, to just the pixel x pixel dimensions that you need will do two things for you: get you the best quality, and eliminate excess overhead, when pushing a bunch of unused pixels around. This ARTICLE will give you more. Note: it was started, before HD took over the market, so just read all of the 720 x 480 dimensions as 1920 x 1080 (in your case). I went on to add comments on HD, but some get confused, when they see the 720 x 480 in the beginning.

Types are pixelated and original fonts can't be found

Hello,
I have this annoyance that occurred in the last month of reinstalling Leopard from Snow Leopard. My computer was acting incredibly slow from Snow Leopard so I reinstalled Leopard again. Afterward I noticed that many of the fonts from the pull down window in Photoshop CS3 were extremely pixelated when I typed them on a document. The documents were of Print quality (300) and the anti-aliases were on Strong or Crisp or the other options so it wasn't that. I've never had this issue before, but my hypothesis is that Photoshop can't locate the fonts and gives me a low res version. Those fonts don't tend to have icons on the left hand side of the pull down menu. I also can't find them in my Font Book.
I reinstalled Photoshop and the problem persisted. What are my options? I was thinking if I can manually remove those fonts from a folder in the system that may do the trick. I currently have less that 700 fonts installed and years ago having more than 2000 or so fonts I never had this issue. Here's a link to what I see when I type a font.

What font is it? Some fonts require the suitcase to be included as well. Without that, you will get a super low res pixellation of the font. The suitcase contains the vector info for the font in some instances.
