Resizing and Organizing Help

Question

Hey,
I used my iPod on a recent trip to store all my photos. I came home with 4GB of pictures and am now trying to organize them all and have a few questions:
1) Why, when you import photos from iPod to iPhoto, does it not organize them into the same rolls it has on iPod? It just dumps them into one big roll in iPhoto and it's insanely frustrating. Is there anyway around this or do I just have to deal with them in one big glob?
2) I began sorting the pics and put them into albums based on location at the time they were taken. Is it possible to "turn off" an album so that the pictures don't show in the main library (not permantly, of course, just until I turn it back "on")? That would be most helpful so I can tell which pictures have been catagorized and which have not.
3) Is there a way to export photos for emailing to the desktop so I can email them from web-based email rather than opening up the mail client included with the computer? Or at least is there a way to manually reduce the size to a specific size so I can customize the download time?
4) Finally, is there any keyboard shortcuts or ways to animate changing the filename of the pictures or do I have to individually click on each photo and then click on the file name in the "info" box?

Hello there:
I'll try to address most of your points:
1) How are your photos organized on the iPod? Does it organize each roll into its own folder? IF so, to have iPhoto honor this, you have to import just a folder at a time. That folder will be given the next roll number. Then drag the next folder off the iPod and into iPhoto. Repeat. Ad nauseum. You can automate this process using Applescript, by having it iterate through each folder and teling iPhoto to import its contents.
2) iPhoto has the ability to filter what pictures are shown by using the Keywords function. Select a photo or series of photos, or an entire album, right click and select Show Info. There is a keyword tab in the info window, and you can select the keywords you would like to assign to the selected album of photos. You could put a checkmark on them or something to indicate that they have been sorted. THEN at the bottom left corner of the main iPhoto window, there is a keyword filtering function. Click on the little key, and you will be given a list of all of the keywords. Select the ones you are interested in, and only those photos will be shown.
3) You can export to the photos in a format suitable for mailing by choosing File and selecting Export. When the export dialog comes up, simply specify a smaller dimension for your photo, such as 320x240. Click export, specify a location, and there you have lower resolution images suitable for emailing.
4) To change the titles all at once, select the ones you wish to change. Go to the Photo menu and choose "Batch Change". Select Title from the popup, Select "Text" from the second popup, and enter your title in the text edit box.
