Resizing columns and making multiple selections in Pages 5.0

Using Pages 5.0 (using OS X), I am no longer able to resize columns in a table by dragging a selection handle as I could in the old Pages (2009, I think it was). Dragging now adds the adjacent column to the selection. Anyone know how to resize the columns by dragging?
Also, in the previous Pages, I could select multiple noncontiguous words by holding down the command key. Doesn't work anymore. Does anyone know how to do that?

IPhoto 7.1.3 and printing multiple photos per page

I cannot get multiple prints to layout (or print) properly. IOW, I cannot get the product to render multiple photos to a single sheet layout.
- selected multiple photos (say 5)
- Hit Print icon (or select Print from File menu)
- Paper Size: choose 8.5x11
- Print Size: choose 3x5
- Hit 'Customize' button
- It is showing 1 photo per page (5 pages)
- Select 'Settings'
- Select 'Multiple photos per page'
- Hit 'OK'
- No change - still a single photo per page
- Print preview shows same - 5 pages each with only a single print.
- Same occurs if I originally select 2,3,4.... prints.
Perhaps noteworthy: I am using a printer (only available printer) that is attached to another iMac on my wireless network.
Any help appreciated. About 30 minutes searching this discussion board hasn't been fruitful.

When I do these steps my preview shows 4 photo on the page (the maximum number of 3 x 5 you can fit on an 9.5 x 11 sheet) without going to the customize menu - and it works on three different printers
Try deleting your iPhoto preferences (finder ==> "your username" ==>preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist), launch iPhoto, reset any preferences you have set and see if it will work
It should be very easy and straight forward with only the first four steps being needed for this

Derived Column : for Lookup type column with 'Allow Multiple Selection' : True in sharepoint list

Hello,
I have one column where field type is Lookup but 'Allow Multiple Selection' is true in SharePoint List.
So, in this scenario data from the SharePoint list is being exported as below.
1;#Red;#3;#Blue;#4;#Black;#5;#Green
Now resultant text exported to SQL Table should be :
1,3,4,5
OR
Red,Blue,Black,Green
Either way it is fine. How can we get this using Derived Column and Data Conversion?
I am able to do this for single occurrence using below expression.
(DT_STR,100,1252)(SUBSTRING([BusinessUnit],FINDSTRING([BusinessUnit],"#",1)+1,LEN([BusinessUnit])-FINDSTRING([BusinessUnit],"#",1)))

Your best bet would be to do this in sql using a string parsing udf as below

Creating a dropdown and choosing multiple selections

Can I create a dropdown in a form that I can choose multiple selections from so the items I choose will show up like a list?

The only way to do that would be to use a pop-up menu, created using a script, and to tick/untick the items the user selects.

Avoiding zeros in columns and rows after selecting parameters

Hi,
I have a parameter on my report, after selecting certain value it shows me Zero Zero for all the columns and rows that do not satisfy the parameter selected and shows data in rows nad columns whre it is matching.
Is there any way to just avaid getting anything for the rows and columns that are not matching and just getting data rows and columns......like a compact form.

Cut and paste multiple selections to separate layers?

Say you have several items selected with a marquee.
Something like this:

No, there is no way to do what you want directly. Unfortunately some kind of selection has to be made, so that each item can be lifted off the original layer individually.
You may find that a simple square marquee does the trick. This can be moved quite quickly from one object to the next. The proces of making the marquee, activating the base layer and Command J can all be automated with an Action. You caould also modify you existing selction using lets say Quick Mask in a smilar way - a series of automated steps.

Tripod shots and making multiple motions from different times happen simultaneously?

Working with Premiere Pro CS4.
Sorry if I framed the question poorly in the title, but I don't know how to really make this description any more concise.
What I have:
Multiple shots of me riding my bike that I filmed by myself using a tripod. I am repeatedly trying certain tricks within each shot between when I press record and when I press stop. During these tricks I move in all sorts of directions while the environment stays the same.
What I would like to do with this:
I am hoping to learn what effect or method to use to make it so I can have a single short shot that has me in different areas of the frame at the same exact time. Sort of like having multiple clones of me not landing the trick instead of just creating subclips that play consecutively. Does this make sense? Sort of like animating a cartoon where you have a backdrop and can make multiple characters moving around or just one. I want to have a multiplicity effect.
Has anybody here done this before? Do I need to do it in After Effects perhaps? I am not adept with that program yet so hopefully I can accomplish it with Premiere. Knowing how to do this definitely seems useful for future applications as well as I think it would look pretty interesting in other contexts as well.

If you want all of the images of you to appear in the exact same Frame, then Keying is the way. Since it sounds like you did not shoot against a green cyc, Rotoscoping will probably be needed. AE CS5 has a new Tool, the RotoBrush, that would be very useful.
Now, if what you want is a Frame, where you appear in different areas of that Frame, but with the original background, you are looking at PiP (Picture in Picture), and you can create a matrix of all sorts of configurations, like 2 x 2 with 4 separate Clips appearing in the same Frame. This example shows a single PiP:
This is easily done. I also show an orange "alignment grid," to help me Position, and Scale my additional Video Clip(s). At Export, that alignment grid would be turned off, or Deleted, so would not show in the output file. For PiP, you would place, say four Video Clips above each other, say Video Track 1 through Video Track 4. You would then use the fixed Effects>Motion>Position and Motion<Scale to get your four PiP's to show.

Plain AppleScript doesn't have that kind of dialog, but you can access various Cocoa methods in Snow Leopard and Lion. In Lion, you create a Cocoa-AppleScript Applet from a template in the AppleScript Editor, where you can use AppleScriptObjC statements. Since the script can only be run in the application and not the AppleScript Editor though, it is a little bit of a pain to troubleshoot - Shane Stanley has written an ASObjC Runner background application that can be run from the AppleScript Editor, if you wanted to check that out.
Running the Cocoa-AppleScript template, you can use something like the following - see the NSOpenPanel Class Reference for other methods and settings:

Disable text box on selecting a checkbox of multiple selection lookup field in infopath 2010

In edit mode of the form,
We have added one field in infopath which is lookup column and shows multiple selection chekboxes.
One of the option from that lookup checkbox list is "Other".
There is one textbox field which will be disabled by default.
We want to enable this text box on selection of "Other" from lookup field checkbox list.
Is it possible?
if yes how can we do this?

Hi Vyanky, I don't believe that's possible without some major functionality. The problem, as you probably know, is that it's a lookup with checkboxes. If it was added directly in InfoPath, then it wouldn't be an issue. You should consider adding "Other"
as a separate yes/no field instead. That way you'll be able to add an action rule to it to enable the text box.

RAR5.3 not able to cut and paste list of users to Multiple Selection screen

CC V4.0 on ABAP system has a feature where you can cut and paste a list of many users from the clipboard to Single Values column in the Multiple Selection screen, so you can run SOD Analysis Report for all those users. The Multiply Selection screen is a standard SAP supplied pop up screen.
With RAR 5.3 the Multiply Selection screen design is different. There is no longer feature to cut and paste from clipboard. We have to input each user one at a time. So if you have many users (20, 30, etc.) it is a time consuming task. It is not acceptable to our business power users.
We can import the list of users to a Custom User Group (in the Configuration Tab). First of all, there is no mass delete on Custom User Group. You have to delete each user one at a time which is time consuming. The alternative is to create a new Custom User Group each time, then it becomes a maintenance nightmare. Secondly, it is in the Configuration Tab which is only available to Administrators (fear of users changing configuation data), so the Administrator (or whomever has access to the Configuration Tab) has to maintain the Custom User Groups which is a lot of work for him or her or them.
We talk to SAP every week. But they are looking at this as a long time project. Does any one of you (or your company) has the same requirements? How do you get around it? Did you setup some other procedures so users can cut and paste the users list and run the Risk Analysis report themselves?

This is probably a JVM issue. Are you using JInitiator or the IE native JVM?
I suggest you turn on the JVM console, set the trace level to maximum, and then watch what happens when you attempt the copy.
Also, check the key mapping (usually ctrl-k) that the forms applet is implementing. Perhaps ctrl-c means something else...
