Resizing window out of screen

hello,
I can't see my window top bar ..... is out of screen ....
so I can't resize it...
What Can I do?

Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J.  When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder.

  • Unable to resize window to fit screen

I am having an issue in which some of the windows from a variety of applications no longer fits on my screen, and I am unable to resize the window because the handle for the window (that I would normally click on and drag to resize) is located in an area of the screen that is not currently visible...
Specifically, when using firefox, if I try to add a new bookmark, the add bookmark window appears and the bottom of the window is off the bottom of the screen (even with the top of that window appearing all the way at the top of the screen. Another instance occurs when using a Photoshop plugin called noiseware, in which the top and bottom of the plugin window appear off the screen, thereby making it impossible to access certain features and functions of the plugin...
I have tried trashing the preferences for each application and for the plugin in hopes that that would help, but it does not...I have also attempted the change the resolution of my monitor, but its alread as large as possible...
Does anyone have any suggestions as to ways in which I can go about resolving this issue? Any help would be sincerly appreciated. Thanks!

  • Window out of screen area

Lately in my three screen setup whenever I open a window to place a file, save as or to export from InDesign CC 2014, the resulting window has the top part out of my central monitor. The only way to get to the top of the import/export window is to change the screen resolution, making it smaller, move the window and than change the screen resolution once again. Yet this is such a waste of time. Does anyone have the same problem, and if yes has anyone solved it?

Originally its the only way to get back to work. Then I discovered that if I click and drag the left top side close to the edge of screen I get the top of  the InDesign window back.

  • Possible e17 issue: resizing windows causes "white-out"

not sure where this problem fits in the categories of the forum, so I figured I'd drop it here... I'm running e17 and recently I started experiencing a "white-out" problem whenever full-screening or resizing windows... so far, the only program that doesn't seem to suffer from this white-out is Opera... I'm not sure how to reproduce this error for anyone either... once the whiteout occurs, the window becomes generally inoperable (I think it's a screen draw issue, because if I know where things relatively are or should be, I can somewhat use the window... so the operations are all still there, I just can't properly see the window itself... closing and reopening fixes this, but nothing else works.  Running via console does nothing as well...
oddly enough, when using gimp, resizing the image window doesn't affect the option windows that are also open... also, when opening xfe and resizing, the main window gets the whiteout effect, but when I close it, the dialog box that asks if I really want to close it looks completely normal...  Please ask whatever questions are necessary to fix this issue... I'm thinking it may be an e17-only issue, but not sure... plan to log into xfce as well to see if I still experience the same thing...
    ANY feedback would be nice...

I have the Early 2009 white Macbook and just began this same ordeal a few days ago. Nothing out of the ordinary to cause it, seemingly. I spoke with the authorized dealer here, and they told me it could be the display at $300 to repair, or anything else for less. Very frustrating.
I can lower the brightness to 0 and then increment 1-2 notches before it goes black again.

  • Help to pick-out a new windows 8 touch screen laptop

I Don't need to most expensive or the cheapest. I guess I want the most bang for my buck. I am not up-to-date on my PCs so I need your help. Just reply with your thoughts and ideas. I've always had Hp but it has been 3 years since I have bought a new laptop. I have a few android tablets but no new laptop. The main one I use now is a 64 bit windows 7 with 2.2GHz duel core 17" screen and 4gb ram. It still works just fine but I'm thinking about a faster PC and want the touch screen like my tablets. No resistive touch screens if they even make them anymore.
    Looking for the following
    windows 8
    touch screen
    i7 or same in amd
    8 gb or more ram
    not sure about the rest
Please give me your opinion or advice. if you could buy anything at best buy, which ones and why? PS I game on the PS3 (soon on the PS4) but not on the PC and I don't like lag or buffering in any way.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

hmmm, from what you are telling me, I would suggest this laptop:
    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+15.6%22+Touch-Screen+Laptop+-+8GB+Memory+-+750GB+Hard+Drive+-+Bla...
I would suggest because I am an asus fan myself, I have always used them as my go to manufacturer with my motherboards on any custom built PC i put together. They are a very reputable name, and are very well made. It should meet all your needs, has 750 GBs of hard drive space (gives you enough room for all the HD pictures and videos!) as well as plenty of ram and an i7 Processor. The ONLY thing i see that might be slightly better is a couple of the sony vaios have solid state drives, and that is a nice plus. Faster boot times, faster read/write speeds. But as you said you didn't want something to make you spend more if it was not a big difference and while it would be a difference, I don't see it being THAT big of a difference for yourself. If you can find a local best buy that has that Asus, I would suggest going in to check it out if its on display. Get a feel for it and see if you like the keyboard. That is a big MUST on buying a laptop, making sure you like the keyboard!
I hope this helped! post any other questions if you like!
Even though I work for best buy, my posts and thoughts are that of my own and do NOT represent best buy in ANY WAY.

  • Hi, I cannot resize or relocate the FF5 window on my screen

HI, just installed FF5. The FF5 window seems locked to upper RH corner. I cannot drag/move window. I cannot resize, except for full screen.

The standard Thunderbird Write window is just that, a composition window. If you turn the Contact Sidebar on by pressing F9 then you can see your address book contacts down the left margin.
If you had anything different it must have been from an add on that you installed. There is no guessing what you did there.

  • Auto resize window when opening image.

How do you make the whole window automatically resize to fit your screen without covering the palletts?  Everythime I open an image the window is hidden by the pallets. I then have to move the pallets out of the way, resize the window to fit my monitor, move the pallets back and Im ready to go. This is such a pain. I want the tools pallet to be on the left, the action and history, etc. on the right, and I want the window with all my image tabs to fit between those from top to bottom and from side to side automatically. I never had this problem in earlier versions. I have cs5.
    Thank you!

I don't need the image to be full screen, just the window. And the window is not technically full screen, because you can still see the window borders and the panels. I want the image window with the different image tabs to open as big as my screen. I want the edges to come right up next to my panels and the bottom to go down to the bottom of my screen. For example: I use Mac and when you close a finder window and open a new one, it will open at the same size that you closed it. If you resize it, lets say, to fill your entire screen, close it and then reopen it, it will open the same size as you closed it. I don't want photoshop to open new image windows to the same dimension as the image. I want a grey screen to cover my entire monitor just like in CS3 and before. I really like the tabs, but I want the window to open bigger with grey space arround the image.

  • Help resizing window using PS CS4 on PC

I am trying to figure out a way to put 4 or 6 images on my screen and be able to move them around to compare them.
Am using Photoshop CS4 on PC and XP Home. I open 4 or 6 files and float all in windows. I then zoom out and make 1 image smaller, so it is smaller than the window. Then match zoom and location to get the zoom ratios the same. Now I have 4 or 6 images that are in windows that are larger than the image.
Is there any way I can make the windows smaller to be the same as the image other than do each one individually by dragging on the corner? Is there a shortcut to do this? Any way to adjust all the windows at once?
I realize this is a bit confusing. Let me know if I can clarify the question better. Thanks.

Go to Edit>Preferences>General and tick the Zoom Resizes Windows box.

  • Zoom Resizes Window Problem

I've got CS2 and I'm finding it very annoying that whenever I zoom in or out in a document the window resizes. I can have two documents open and their windows neatly sized to fit the screen, I zoom in on one and suddenly that document is filling the whole screen. Yet, when I go to Edit / Preferences / General I see that the 'Zoom Resizes Window' box is unchecked.
The only way I can zoom in without the window resizing is via the Navigator window. But that's more awkward. Any ideas anyone?

Ah, excellent, thanks Ed, I didn't notice that check box. A case of too many check boxes spoils for wroth .. perhaps?

  • Zoom resizes window

I have been using Imageready for years, and now trying to
switch to Fireworks, since Imageready is gone... I am afraid I will
be here a lot to ask questions...
My first one is: Is there an option to automatically resize
the window if you zoom in or out with Ctrl-+/-
In Photoshop you can set it in the preferences: General
--> Zoom Resizes Windows, but haven't found the equivalent in
Fireworks. I'd like to organize a number of pictures on the screen
so that I can make decisions where they go on a webpage...
    Thanks,

On PC's, document windows don't resize in any program unless
    you resize
them manually. If they behave that way on Macs, that's a new
    concept for
    me. :-)
I'm not sure what you mean by images behind it. If you mean
    another
document you have open, either click on its tab at the top
    left of the
document window, or undock the document windows by choosing

  • Resizing Safari to full screen

Is there any way to resize safari to full screen? I have tried with the Green + icon in upper left of window but it resizes itself very little. I have tried to find the answer on support page without luck, as a matter of fact, I am new to MAC after being a pc user for years. I love my MAC except for the documentation and lack of support for questions about everyday usage.

Just from using this for the first time its evident that I will get more information here. I have been to MAC 101 and gettting started websites. There is definitely a lack of manual support for MAC compared to PC. There is a place on the website that you can download manuels but the one for leopard keeps saying that I have reached the wrong site and redirecting me to the previous page. I like knowing more about the how to's than they cover on the getting to know Mac os page
Of course you should use whatever method works best for you...
But just to point it out, the Mac 101 pages specifically mentions - within two clicks of the front page - how to resize a window (screenshot). (And I am very unfamiliar with the Mac 101 site and just clicked quickly through to see if it that information was readily discoverable.) I think those pages probably do a lot more than any standard manual, in terms of walking you through how to use the Mac OS and how it is different from Windows, and also in terms of readily finding little tidbits just by following the links and quickly skimming the categories.
But again, use whatever resources you find the most functional. The forums are definitely a great way to get quick answers to simple "how to" questions like this one.
I have a feeling some of your difficulties finding information are simply due to being in a different world from the one you're used to. In my experience, as a Mac user first and a Windows user only later and by necessity, I have found it much easier to get answers to Mac questions and I've never found Windows help resources to be the least bit easy to find or simple to use.
What Leopard manual were you trying to download? Do you have the link?

  • How do i drag icons and how do i resize windows

this is my first laptop having been used to emacs before. I can't figure out how to drag items or resize windows when not using a mouse and can't find such simple instructions in the manual.
    thanks.

In addition to the method described by Jim, you can set options in the Keyboard & Mouse preference panel (in System Preferences) that allow you to get mouse clicks and click lock using the trackpad. Check out those options, many people find they make the trackpad a lot more useful.
