Resolution/Blurry

Hello. I have recently purchased a HP ENVY 15T. I came equipped with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 850M video card with 4 GB of memory. The recommended the resolution is 1920 x 1080, but the was hurting my eyes. So, I downgraded it to 1600 x 900. Most windows are clear, but some tend to be blurry.
What can I do to solve this issue?
Thank you.

Troubleshooting problems with notebook displays (Windows 8, Windows 7)
You wil note the recommendation is to change the resolution for this issue.  I suggest you return it to the recommended resolution and if it bothers your eyes try adjusting the brightness of the display.
1. Open charms
2. Select search Settings
3. Click on brightness  and adjust the setting.
Another way is to
1.Open charms
2. Go to Control Panel
3. Select Appearance and personalization
4.Select display
5. Select Adjust brightness
6. On the bottom of the screen is a slider bar to adjust the screen brightness.
Good Luck!

  • Bootcamp Windows Screen Resolution/Blurry?

Hello. Running Bootcamp on new Macbook Pro, installed and also running Win XP Pro. When using Windows the resolution on the screen seems just a little blurry/fuzzy. Definately not as sharp as the screen when running the Mac OS. (Also had the same issue with older Macbook Pro with bootcamp also). I've adjusted all display properties and nothing really improves it. I know its it's Windows, but is it possible to make the resolution sharper?
    Thanks.

    Lion is 10.7.1
Boot Camp incl with Lion is 4.0
If you have older Mac OS X discs, well, the new 2011s are totally different changed hardware motherboard chipset and you won't find drivers even if you try using BC 3.0.
So goodbye to 10 yr plus OS that is EOL no longer getting patches and updates and 20X vulnerable as a Windows 7 64-bit (or even play with free Windows 8 Deve Preview, but expect a few things to need tweeks).

  • Mac Mini Display Resolution - Blurry Fonts

    Hello,
I changed the monitor cable on my 2007 MacMini Core 2 Duo.
I disconnected a KVM switch box that I was using to connect my older MacMini.
I was unable to get the display back to normal.
    The fonts are blurry.
It uses a Vison brand LCD 21.5 inch monitor connected by a VGA cable with the included DVI adapter.
My MacMini came with OS 10.5. I later upgraded to 10.6.8.
In 10.5, I could go to System Preference > Display and choose the correct display setting which were 1680 x 1050, Colors: Millions, Refresh Rate: 60.0 Hertz.
Now with 10.6.8, I have a different Display window that does not have exactly the same choices. The only one that kind of works is 1600 x 1200, 75 Hz.
I've read the forums here and elsewhere and I have zapped the PRAM, checked the "Use LCD font smoothing when available" box, typed some commands into Terminal, etc. but to no avail.
    Will you please help?

Thanks for the tip. I downloaded the free version and just like it warned...everything turned black.
I couldn't get it into safe mode or anything.
I got a new monitor and the problem went away though.
I'll keep DisplayConfigX in mind for future use.

  • Mac mini: Samsung 27 inch series 3 monitor problem.

Connecting HDMI(mini) to HDMI(Monitor) leads to poor text resolution (blurry difficult to read). Monitor only has HDMI or VGA. Will mindisplay to vga adaptor work and give a clear picture?
Have tried PC to moitor through VGA and gives clear perfect picture.
Answer would be most grateful as otherwise mac is much better than PC in all other aspects and would not wish to go back to PC

OK. So I have now tried LG 27 Inch E2742 Monitor as follows:
    1) Mini display to DVI-D : Picture good with decent text resolution
    2) HDMI-HDMI: Picture poor with poor colour and text resolution. This is not a calibration issue.
The samsung monitor 27 inch series 3 also has poor picture and colour and text resolution with HDMI-HDMI. Again this is not a calibration issue. It does not have a DVI-D input to test the minidisplay port.
So it seems the HDMI port is not working properly but the minidisplay one is ok as I suspected.
From reading the other threads it seems this is a common problem including those people that have taken their minis back for an exchange and experienced same problem.
Is there likely to be a software update to resolve this?

  • Bug: Previews not generated properly when Soft Proofing is enabled in LR5, LR5.2 RC

I am experiencing problems with previews in Lightroom 5.0 and Lightroom 5.2 RC.
I have noticed incorrect previews under the following circumstances when Soft Proofing is enabled:
    1. When I make modifications (like cropping), the preview in the Navigator panel does not update until I uncheck (and recheck) the Soft Proofing option.
    2. When I am paging through several images at 100% or greater, the view in the main window, while zoomed in correctly, does not provide the correct resolution (blurry) until I either uncheck (and recheck) the Soft Proofing option or zoom out and zoom back in.
    I am using:
    Lightroom 5.0 64-bit, Lightroom 5.2 RC 64-bit
    Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
    Canon CR2 RAW files
16GB RAM, plenty of local disk space
Note: I have not done extensive testing on this, but many of these files are stored on a network drive, so I don't know if there is some sort of bug in the optimized routines for network drives/folders.

I have the same problem as michaeln2 and adobe 1230931.
    I use Lightroom 4.4.
When I am in the Develop screen and I turn on Soft Proofing, then about 20% of the time the image goes blank.  If I go back to Library view and reenter Devleop, sometimes the image will show up, sometimes not.  If I advance to other images, sometimes they'll show and sometimes not in the Soft Proofing mode.  Sometimes rotating an image in Library mode and going back into Develop "wakes up" the Soft Proofing and sometimes not.
In other words, the soft proofing feature is, as michaeln2 says, functionally useless.  I'm surprised that no fix has been posted on this thread.  No point upgrading to Ver 5 either...as it seems to be buggy there as well.  Help!

  • How do you clean up blurry, grainy, poor resolution images?

    Hello There!
I am very new to the Adobe Creative Suite.  I have started my journey with Photoshop CS5.1 and my boss has asked me to clean up an image that is being used as the background image on a web page.  I'm being asked to keep the dimensions of the image as-is (2448 x 2904) while reducing it's file size to about 500kb.  The reason for this request is that the background image is blurry, or grainy, or out-of-focus...or the resolution is just plain bad because it seems zoomed in too much.  I'm not quite sure, but it doesn't look professional on the site so my boss is asking me to clean it up.
To this point I have done research on how to clean up photos but nothing has fixed my problem.  What makes it worse is that I'm so new to PS that I can't be sure if I unable fix this image due to my lack of skill/knowledge, or because what is being asked of me cannot be done(due to coding issues behind the scenes of this web page, or because the image size shouldn't be 2448 x 2904 at all, etc.).
Here are some of the things I've tried to clean up this blurry, out-of-foucs, grainy image (trying to reduce the file size to around 500kb):
    High Pass filter
    Sharpen tool
File > Save for Web & Devices -- It was here where I was able to reduce the size to what I wanted, but the quality isn't any better than it is on the current web page
I really appreciate the help!  Hopefully I can soon give my boss a great finished product, or at least an answer as to why what he's asking cannot be done!

The best thing you can do is recognize that some client requests cannot be reasonably honored. You're on the right track to keep the answer 'No!' a possibility. 500kb is way too large for a web page.
The cure for this scenario is tinkering with CSS/HTML. Personally, I would use a repeating pattern of synthetic grass with no yard lines. That can get you down to around 20kb. Then I would overlay a PNG8 file with alpha transparency* to render the yard lines. That could be only 100kb. These images can be layered as your background through HTML/CSS.
*Photoshop cannot create PNG8 with alpha transparency. You'd need to make this with Fireworks or use this hack.

  • Xorg.conf can't set resolution right everything is blurry

i just switched from CRT to LCD and it looks really bad.
    DELL 1907FP
I've set xorg.conf according to the monitor specifications
resolution is set to monitor's native resolution and the display size is set
to the one specified in the monitor manual.

    this is my xorg.conf
    http://www.rafb.net/paste/results/NWpuq274.html
The fonts in all windows and the resolution look really bad. everything seems to be a bit blurry in general.
Did i set something wrong in xorg.conf?
    what should the DPI be?
    vladuz@box:/etc/X11$ xdpyinfo | grep resolution
    resolution: 85x86 dots per inch

the picture looks a little better now. I set the vertical range from a range to a
specific value (75.0), looks better now.
    but i get
xdpyinfo | grep resolution gives 85x86 dots per inch
    isn't that a little low for a 19" 1280x1024 with display size of 380mm 300mm?

  • My high resolution pictures got blurry and pixelet when imported into i-mov

    Hi
I am trying to import bunch of high resolution pictures into I-Movie, when run the test, pictures all look very blurry and pixelet (lost pixel). I even disable the Ken Burn Effect inside the picture settings. Is there a way to keep the same quality of those picture when put into the movie timeline?
    Thanks

SD video is just 1/3 megapixel. Importing a multi-megapixel image into iMovie turns it into a 1/3 megapixel image (or if you use Ken Burn: a 1/3 megapixel video).
Fear not. When you burn a DVD it will look just fine.
IMPORTANT: When sending to iDVD from iMovie, iMovie may tell you that some stills are not rendered. Do NOT let iMovie render them. iDVD will do a much better job rendering them.

  • IMac 27'' little bit blurry after changing resolution.

Hello. I recently bought a 27'' iMac 2013. As the screen is too big I changed the resolution from 2560x1440 to 2048x1152. But it look a little bit blurry now. 2560x1440 is really good but texts and other thing hard to see. Is that normal? I think Apple should do something about it. My eyes are really fine but even for me it was hard to see texts. They are too small.

in windows one can change dpi of text and the likes in the video settings this partly does what you want
I don't believe it's possible with osx at least not unless one use a thirdparty program
I say partly because while it makes text bigger and easier to read some applications looks a bit odd compared with normal
in osx are some tools in the acccability in system preferences where you get a loop but I never really played around with them'

  • When using Final Cut Express, the video in the Viewer window looks fine, but when I insert the video into the Canvas Timeline it appears to lose resolution, and look fuzzy and blurry. Are there preferences or settings for the Timeline that cause this?

When using Final Cut Express, the video in the Viewer window looks fine, but when I insert the video into the Canvas Timeline it appears to lose resolution, and look fuzzy and blurry. Are there preferences or settings for the Timeline that cause this?

Thanks David. I had to convert the mts file to Quick Time (using AunSoft Conversion software) before I could import it into Final Cut Express. And I made sure I kept the size of movie (720 X 480 with letterbox) to compliment what I set my Panaconic AVCCAM video recorder at (720/60). Even after I fully render it, it still looks fuzzy in the Canvas window at the right that plays what I have editing down in the Timeline. A friend that edits some using Final Cut Pro helped me to narrow things down to this problem. This is also wierd. If my Viewer window at the left is set to 200% to get the person's head the same size in the Canvas window at the right we needed to put it to 400%. Does this make any sense. We think we need to control the Time line resolution somehow but cannot find any options from my manual, or the help, or in the various drop down menus. Do you have any clue? What is going on?

  • Why is Monitor Resolution is Blurry After Move?

    I've had a Visio V221WD 1680 X 1050 (max) 21.6" display for years with no problems.
I moved the Mac Mini and monitor to another room two days ago and set it up with no problems.
I moved it back and set it up and now the display is blurry.
    It seems slightly elongated vertically.
I've moved this machine and monitor before with no problems.
I tried all the different resolutions in System Preferences - Display. The one that looks the least worst is 1600 x 1200, 60 Hz. I restarted in Safe Mode and tried the different resolutions but it did not improve.
How can set the resolution so it looks sharp like it did before?
    Thanks!

So the pictures hardly show a difference, but both my friend and I agree that there is a clear differene the picture quality of my laptop and the monitor.
Also, the photos are too large to be uploaded here.

  • Blurry/fuzzy screen resolution

I have a HP Pavilion p7-1421 desktop.  connected to a Samsung SyncMaster 2494hm 24" monitor.  It was all working fine up untill a few days ago.  The monitor kept switching between different resolutions. The computer would make a sound like somthing was being connected then disconnected to it and the screen would switch back and forth.
When I go to the resolution settings the display device is supposted to be listed as  'SyncMaster2494' and the resolution should be '1920 x 1080' but the only display device is 'Display device on: VGA' with the correct resolution but it is fuzzy or blurry.
I went to samsung and downloaded the latest driver and it doesn't correct the issue.
I have a AMD Radeon HD 7560D video card, I went to their website and downloaded the current driver but that did not correct the issue either.
I disconnected the monitor and plugged it into a different computer and the display is fine so I am not sure what to do from here.
    Please help

do you think it would help to uninstall then re-install the video card? I have not done that yet, I'm a little hesitant becuase I have not done that for a video card before.

Just switched to Windows 10 this morning and everything's as it should be and looking good... except for Skype. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it just looks really bad: out of focus, and like everything's scaled up 30%. It's headache-inducing to read blurry letters like that. Screenshot attached. Any help? edit: found a topic and fix here http://community.skype.com/t5/Windows-desktop-client/Problems-with-High-resolution-High-DPI-screen/m-p/3062622

Nevermind.  I found it in the CIRCLE WIDGET settings by swiping down on the third circle (battery).  My texts still appear in Messaging app if I open it (for whatever reason) but I don't have to deal with that notification anymore.
