Resolution on Visualizer?

I just received a new computer and thus have downloaded the latest version of iTunes. When I turn my visualizer on though, I have a black bar on the right side of the screen about 2 inches wide. I know that the resolution is not right on the visualizer, but is there anyway to change this? My monitor is a 17" Samsung 730B.

Check in System Preferences>Universal Access and see if Zoom is on. If you have toddlers or cats this can accidentally turned on by hitting a group of keys that include Option + Command + 8.
To prevent this being accidentally activated in the future go to System Preferences>Keyboard>Keyboard Shortcuts>Universal Access and uncheck all the boxes.

  • HT204570 I have a ~22k pic iCloud photo library. I want to have a folder of ~1.2k pics available on my iPad in full resolution while offline, all the time. Can this be done?

Hi - I have had iCloud photos turned on for about 2 weeks.  My old iPhoto library of around 22k pics uploaded no problem.  My issues are with now viewing them on my iPhone and iPad, which are set to optimise storage.
On the iPad I used to have a folder of about 1200 pics which I'd use as a photo frame by chucking on as a slideshow on my desk at work. I don't connect to the wifi there.  Since iCloud photo I can't do this, as the pics are mostly low res, if there at all (two weeks after upload the vast majority of my library appears as just a sea of grey squares on both i-devices - thumbnails have not appeared for huge swathes of the library at all.  Is this going to right itself?).   I read about using Favourites to ensure local full res copies are kept, so I've gone through and favourited each pic (no option to do this in bulk on the iPad?) and this has ensured at least that each pic of those selected have thumbnails now, but no guarantee that the full image will display.  Even when I run the slideshow connected to wifi the low-res pixelated placeholder is what's displayed for most of the time the image is on the screen.  And if Favourites is the way to force local hi-res copies I still have no need for these to be also stored in full resolution on my iPhone.
Basically, I want a way to force folders to be available in full, offline, and specific to the device.  Is this possible?  Big step back for what I use this thing for if not.

Is there anything ornate in the frame images. Or are they more or less just made with strips of standard framing molding. If nothing fancy just molding  then an action that uses patterns and a little bit of scripting can frame your images orientation does not matter a little scripting handles that.  To scale you images to the proper size will take some scripting and the spread sheet exported to a CSV file containing filename width and height.
My crafting action package contains 12 scripts to be used in actions.  Two of which would be very useful for your project. If you create you script to size the images so they have the correct print size.  The framing of these would be easy.  The action would first run two of my run twice scripts for action.  The first scripts saves the documents current resolution so the action can change it to what it need the document to have for its framing patterns.  The second script will rotate portrait images to landscape orientation.  The action can the add the 1" frame. once the frame is in place the action the runs the two scripts again. The second time these action run they will restore thing. One will rotate the documents it rotated to landscape back to portraits and the other will restore the documents resolution.  My image visualization package has framing actions and a script to make a 1" mitered selection to be filled with the framing pattern.

  • Removing or replacing system resolutions

I have finally purchased a replacement mini for use with my HDTV. I've gotten all the custom resolutions (overscan correction) created and installed using DisplayConfigX. It looks great.
My problem is that I can't get rid of those "standard" resolutions that OSX is always providing. Things like 640x480, 640x480 (stretched), 720x480, and 1024x588 (?). These resolutions do not work with my HDTV, and I want to avoid any application attempting to select them (the g-force visualizer for instance). There is a selection in DisplayConfigX to "Disable system resolutions for this monitor" but it doesn't.
Does anyone know of a way I can remove these resolutions or at least prevent them from being selectable through the display preferences?
      Mac OS X (10.4.8)

SwitchRes X allows you to disable resolutions. As far as I know it doesn't remove them. It just doesn't allow them to be selected. I haven't actually used that feature so I can't confirm that it works as advertised. I am just noting that it is there.

  • Visualizer image shifted to left

When I run the visualizer the image is shifted about an inch or so to the left so I have a black bar at the right of the monitor and the song titles on the left are cut off. I apologize in advance, I have seen the solution here before but I forgot and I've been searching for half an hour and have not found it again.
    Many thanks.

Read this thread. What's your screen resolution set at?

  • Visualizer not filling the entire screen

    Hello everyone,
In iTunes 10 I have noticed that when I use the iTunes Visualizer, it only uses maybe a quarter of the screen at the bottom left. I do not have this problem with any of the other visualizer, only the iTune Visualizer. This only happens in full screen mode.
Any why is when i esc out the visualizer full screen it keeps the visualizer but just filling the iTunes screen.
Anyone else having this problem or have a resolution?
    Thanks!!!

I've not seen this - it goes full screen for me provided that option is checked in Preferences>Advanced. Possibly you should update to 10.6.4, though that's a guess.

That's normal. Escape gets you out of full screen, menu View>Hide Visualiser stops it altogether.

  • Imac try to change resolution

Hi! I've an Imac G5 17" iSight... I've a strange problem... display sometimes became blue, like if I try to change resolution and in about 2 second all come back normal.. other times it happens the same thing but it changes resolution, and I see a very low resolution for about 3-4 seconds..then it changes again resolution to normal resolution (1440x900)
When the display visualize low resolution I can see in the menu display on the top a very long list of resolution, like if it could see an external monitor I think...
I've already try to reinstall Tiger but nothing...
    Sorry for my bad english
    Thanks
    Dario

It happens again and this time the console reports this error..

  • Request for Consequent Visualization

    Hello,
first I want to say, I very much anticipate the release. I appreciate the redesign of the user interface.
After using CS6 a little while I encountered some points which to me are not bugs but improvable issues.
Detailed information about my system at the end of this post.
    1. Having a picture opened and zoomed in:
Using spacebar or the hand-tool dragging around the picture it is juddering. Letting it go (releasing the mouse button) it flicks away smoothly without stuttering.
Here I would like to see a smooth dragging, too, not only smooth flicking after releasing the mouse button.
    2. The "scrubby zoom" performance increase is incredible, I like that a lot. But, having zoomed in to a point in the picture off center and "scrubby-zooming" out again the picture is off center as long as the mouse button is still pressed.
After releasing the button, the picture jumps to the center of the screen.
I would like that to be one of the following: Either the picture stays off center when I zoom out. Or the scrubby zoom-out automatically centers the picture. An option in the preferences area to change that behavior would be nice to have.
    3. Thus I use a Wacom Intuos 4 and sometimes make use of the bristle brushes I encountered a visualization flaw. If I hover with my pen over the tablet without clicking (drawing) the displayed brush shape changes according to the tilting and rotation of my pen. This is great. But when drag-clicking (painting) the last displayed brush shape stays until I raise the pen (end drawing). I would very much prefer the brush cursor to be chaning while painting, because the stroke itself changes with direction and rotation, too.
    4. I would like to see gpu supported cursors. Let me explain. The pen position of my wacom, that is transferred to photoshop, is much more precise than the resolution of my screen. That is the case with most of the graphic pen tablets and screen combinations.
So it would be great to see cursors not only "snapping" from pixel to pixel but with sub pixel rendering. This would make working with the path tool much more precise.
    5 and last:
This behavior was there in CS5, too: When I use the pen (vector) tool and click-drag a new point, the handles appear first when I drag my cursor more than about two pixels away. Why is that? Same with moving existing path points. It moves first when dragged more than about two or three pixels to the side. I would love to have a preference to change that radius to zero. If I click-drag a point I want to be able to move it one pixel only without having to drag it away first and than back to where it was plus one pixel distance in one direction.
Thank you for constantly improving this software
    Best regards
Sebastian, Adobe Certified Expert for Photoshop

Thanks for the quick reply. Okay, I will be creating seperate posts in the future.
    1. Yes this is the case no matter whether the panel is hidden or visible. It is also the case when all palettes are hidden. Having tried this another time I assume it may have something to do with the display of the rulers. The flicking produces a lot more frames per second than dragging the picture around. While it flies around, the rulers are not refreshed. They are displayed first when the movement has stopped.
When I disable the ruler display, the framerate when dragging the picture increases and thus appears much more fluid. It still feels as if there is still a little headroom for a smoother display of the picture moving compared to the flick-animation. But the rulers take away a lot of the display performance as it seems.
    2. I found that option, it enables exactly the behavior I was looking for! I did not reason that, because I did not expect that it would zoom-out to center as well and thus enabling to zoom the picture away from the center. Kind of a misunderstandable thing. Okay so this point can be marked as solved I guess.
    3. I'm looking forward to future development.
Thanks so far! What about No. 4 and 5?
More precise cursors that allow modification "between single pixels" would be a very nice to have visual feature, but I assume a lot of programming work.
I would really like to know whether 5 is a wanted behavior or not. Should I try to explain what I mean another way?
I really get the feeling, that you are really caring about what people say here. Thanks for that open-mindedness :-)

  • Screen Scrambles when Itunes Visualizer is turned on Full Screen

I have been having a laundry list of problems with the new imac. One bug I noticed yesterday was that if I am listening to music in itunes, turn on the visualizer and then set it to full screen, everything scrambles on the monitor. I was using my airport express to listen to the music, but I don't know if that has anything to do with the issue. Has anyone else has experienced this bug or is it just my imac. Please let me know.

I assume by scramble you mean that the files on the desktop get moved to a new location on the desktop. The full screen iTunes visualizer runs at a smaller resolution than what you usually run it at. One consequence of this is that everything on the desktop has to be moved so that it fits within the bounds of the screen.

  • Record/Save visualizer to QT movie?

Is there any way to save the output of the visualizer to a QT movie?
It could be as low as 640x480 resolution.
Could it be output WITH a sound effects track I've made?
    Thanks
    William

No tutorials exist that I know of. But all you need to do is just size (drag the small black "handles" on the window edges) and place the capture window appropriate to the QuickTime Player image so it leaves out the QuickTime Player frame. For additional details, see the Snapz Pro manual, page 18.
For additional information on running Snapz, check out the Snapz Pro FAQ or ask in the Ambrosia Utilities forum.

  • I would like to do a product visualization of a fabric on a shirt, but am not sure where to start

    Hi Everyone,
I am on a conquest to do a product visualization of a fabric style on a shirt (fabric could be a solid color, striped, or checked). I have access to the fabric and can take pictures/scans of the fabric to extract the exact pattern and would like to overlay it onto an existing picture of a man with a proper dress shirt on to see how the fabric would look on the actual shirt.
I would like this to be as real as possible so that you could not tell that the fabric was actually "draped" onto the shirt. The result would be something similar to the Perry Ellis website:
    http://www.perryellis.com/Dress-Shirts/pedmdressshirts,default,sc.html
Could anyone point me in the right direction as to whether this can be done with Photoshop or if there is another alternative method I should pursue? I already have an original with my model in a very flat grey shirt that I would like to modify.
I would even consider paying a photoshop expert to complete the job but am not sure if what I am asking for can be accomplished yet.
    Thanks in advance!

Here are the two images (one is of the shirt, one is of the fabric). I can get higher resolution images if needed. What do you think?
    http://www.yourfilelink.com/get.php?fid=768239
    http://www.yourfilelink.com/get.php?fid=768241
I don't mind it taking a long time, as long as the results are repeatable as I want to be able to do this with 20 fabrics or so and I want it to look as real as possible. I am a novice at Photoshop, would you recommend I pay someone to accomplish this? How long do you think it would take? Is it something I could learn because I plan on doing 20 of them and maybe more?

  • RSS Visualizer only showing 4 articles

There is an old archived question (#10318621) concerning this topic. The resolution involves Quartz Composer.
I used the RSS Visualizer for years on 10.4 Tiger and it showed 10 items from the RSS feed. Was this changed in the more recent versions of OS X? Do I understand correctly that it is now hard-coded and the only way to change it is to modify the code with Quartz Composer?
If that's the solution, I'll give it a shot, but I wanted to check before mucking with the code. And I'm curious how this occurred... was it just a design change by some coder at Apple?
    Thanks all.

Yep, me too. Just 4 articles on the RSS screensaver. Not very interesting. Tried looking in the APPALLING Apple help for an answer. Apple Help is the worst I've ever seen on any OS. It used to be so good!

  • Problem intel HD 4400 monitor 13 inches - defect of the resolution on "windows photo viewer"

    Hello to all the community!
    I have a Lenovo yoga pro2.
    model: 20266
    (i74510U - 2ghz - RAM 8gb - Windows 8.1 - total memory available 1792 Mb - resolution monitor recommended  3200x1800).
When I open the same image with "windows photo viewer" for example on the 15-inch monitor the result is ok (Windows7)
whereas on the my Lenovo from the 13-inch monitor the visualization is very small. On my Lenovo the menu buttons of "windows photo viewer" are also very small from see (see rectangles highlighted in red)
I tried to change all the settings the user side at my disposal, but the problem persists.
Same thing on the graphics program PAINT.NET. All the menu bars, commands, icons, etc, are displayed very small.
You need to make some changes advanced on the card 4400?
    Can you help me?
    Thanks
Mod's Edit: Image(s) converted to link(s) due to size.  Photos are limited to 100k size per forum guidelines.
Please refer to About Posting Pictures for more information.

This is unfortunately often an expected behavior for an High-DPI display like the Yoga 2 Pro has (using the same machine btw.). Because the Display on the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro has far more pixels on the same area, each pixel is a lot smaller as on other displays. So a control element with 200x200 Pixels looks a lot smaller than on another screen with a lower resolution. The apps have to take this in account, so that they render those elements with more pixels on a High-DPI screen like the one the Yoga 2 Pro uses. If so they are described as dpi-aware. I don't know if the Photo Viewer in Windows 8 is dpi-aware or not and I cannot test this as my machine is already running Windows 10. But as for paint.net I know this one is perfectly dpi-aware and should look just fine. I have it installed myself on this Yoga 2 Pro and it looks just fine to me. This scaling that dpi-aware Apps and windows elements do can be adjusted in the Control Panel. How you do that is described HERE with Option 1 and the steps 1-5 (skip the other steps and especially option 2). Just move the slider shown in step 5 to "larger". You have to log out and in or restart the machine to let the new setting take effect.

  • ZBook 14 - Can't change screen resolution after update

After I installed some software updates the Laptop was suggesting me, my screen resolution went suddenly from 1900x1200 to 1200x720 after reboot, and it doesn't let me change it, not even to a smaller resolution. I am quite frustrated, because I will need the computer next week for visualization works and I really need the display working well.
It doesn't let me change the resolution. The display and graphics drivers are up to date and working properly, according to the device manager. I made a system recovery, but that just made everything worse although the resolution thing worked again, I had to run a startup repair several times before my laptop would boot propery again. This didn't solve the issue, since the display drivers weren't working properly (videos were being visualized very poorly) and even after updating them the computer wouldn't start up again, so I had to made another system recovery and now I am back to the point where I can't change the resolution and is starting to be really frustrating.
Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

  • HT201343 Display iTunes visualizer on HDTV (via AppleTV), keep Mac desktop on computer?

Can I display the iTunes visualizer on my HDTV (via Apple TV), but retain my desktop display on my Macbook Pro (Mountain Lion)?

    Hello John
That setup takes a little getting use to, my suggestion is to turn mirroring off and only use extended desktop! That way you are able to set the internal display at it's native resolution and the TV at it's best resolution.
    Check out: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303086
    Resolutions
+"When the computer is mirroring video, it tries to synchronize the resolution of the built-in and external displays. If they can't be matched, the computer will change the resolution of both screens to the highest common resolution which may cause areas of the built-in display to be blacked out."+
Tip: On the "iMac Display Preference Panel" check the box "Show displays in menu bar" this places a little drop-down display icon up on the right side of the menu bar for fast easy access to the display preferences.

  • ITunes 7 slow visualization

    Hello everyone
iTunes 7 for the PC is top. I'm loving the new features,
    BUT......
*** is happening with the visualizer? One of my fav things to do in the morning before I got up was to put the visualiser on and chill out to some tunes & swirling colours for a bit.
They have made it run at full native resolution (1600 x 1050 on my display) which means that i get about 3 frames a second, and a load of jitter when I try and change tracks or change volume. It's even worse watching it in a window, and reducing the screen resolution doesn't help either.
Anyone found a workaround to this yet to knock the res down?

Sounds like you have the iTunes visualizer configured to display full screen.
You can switch between modes with ctrl-F
Here is a complete list of keyboard shortcuts for iTunes 7 for Windows:

    For Macs its:
