Resolution Preference

Question

Can someone explain what resolution setting to use in the preferences >> page display >> custom resolution.
When using
at 108 dpi system setting , the fonts looks funny (the D's & E's for example are all slightly shorter). The font is Meta Normal.
If I change to Custom 98 then this looks good.
Is there an easier way to figure out my figure out my PPI. 23.5" wide monitor/2540 pixels = 108.00851, so 108. I am guessing Acrobat presences somehow sense this.
My pdfs are coming ftom Illustrator using smallest file size setting (with one change to make them CMYK), and that is 100 dpi.
IN summary what setting should I used for the Acrobat page Display???

That will be a fantastic display probably. Wide gamut displays are very good for photography work as they allow colors to be displayed that you can find in nature and that cameras can photograph and that many printers can actually reproduce. I use a wide-gamut one and it is a joy. There are only a few caveats with them. 1. they absolutely have to be calibrated. Every display should be calibrated if you do digital photography, but this is especially important for wide gamut displays. You already have this covered with your Spyder, so nothing to worry about. 2. non-managed applications will display incorrect color. A big offender here is internet explorer in windows. It will simply always display the wrong color (oversaturated mostly), no matter what you do. Use Safari or Firefox (on Macs Chrome is also color managed, but not on windows). If you use Firefox, be sure to generate a v2 monitor profile (the spyder software can do this), as otherwise FF will still not color manage. 3. Games and DVDs will look oversaturated on this display. If you use your monitor for work, don't worry about it, and DVD player software can often be set to reduce saturation a little.
