Resolution selection for watching video on YouTube app?

I don't have good enough speed to stream HD content on youtube. I wonder if there is any way to switch to lower res playback. I for now visit the youtube site using HTML5 to watch videos, but it would be nice and convenient if i can just do that on youtube app.

You stop watching HD video and watch the SD versions instead - there is no speed throttle like Quicktime setup in OSX/Windows.

Trying to connect iphone to LGsmarttv for watching videos and pictures. We are on the same WIFI, pictures I can see, but no videos .... Do I need apple tv or an app ..

I do not fully understand all of the ins and outs of iCloud either. I use iCloud in very "limited doses".  The greatest feature of iCloud - IMO - is that you can download purchased content again at no charge as long as you use the same Apple ID. There are some limitations based on where you live - but in the U.S - all of this is available to you.
I also use iCloud to back up my Pages documents and currently only the Apple iWorks suite of apps, pages, Numbers and Keynote, can make use of this feature of iCloud - As far as I know.  The changes that I make on the documents will sync to my iPod Touch and I can download the documents from my iCloud.com account in order to work on them on my Mac. Revise them on the Mac, upload to my account again - and they appear on the iPad and the Touch with revisions in place.
iCloud is still in its infancy, and even if it was "foolproof" or as foolproof as anything can be, I would never count on the cloud only to store my important files. I still backup to iTunes on my Mac and I backup my Mac with Time Machine. The use of iTunes is simply the vehicle through which all of your purchased content can be transferred to your computer for safe keeping. iTunes will store your media, apps and photos - and the backup process using iTunes - provides a way to save your settings, app data, camera roll photos, bookmarks, - in essence - the "stuff" that your apps produce - if that makes sense to you.
Read this to learn more about iCloud. This is covers everything from soup to nuts. The articles contain links to other articles with more information as well. You may even want to peruse the iCloud forum for more information.

The only app you specifically mention is meta tube. No way to tell from the description on the app page where they source the material (I suspect primarily YouTube), and no reviews as of yet. You might want to contact the vendor.
If you are getting the same results from established streaming apps, such as YouTube or Jasmine, I would say you have a connection speed issue (keeping the stream from properly buffering). Hard to say.
Try a rest: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the iPad shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the iPad back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset.

  • Can only watch videos from YouTube, but not from other websites.

I can only watch videos from youtube, but certain websites such as dailymotion.com , videos.sapo.pt, etc, the flash video does not load up. I´ve tried updating my video drivers, installing older versions of Adobe flash, but nothing has worked so far. Has anyone has this problem? IShould I be messing with the flash global settings?
    Thanks.

Hi, You may want to check the system requirements for the other sites. If you can watch videos on Youtube, then you must have Flash Player Installed properly.
Sometimes certain websites don't support or are late in supporting the latest version of Flash Player (10.1.102.64), so you might want to contact the websites on that.
You can use this link for setting and see if that makes a difference. Normally you would get a popup from the website to ask for this, but that would depend on how you have the Global Settings Panels set up.

  • After updating to ios8.0.2 i just cant watch videos on YouTube or Facebook. Does anyone have the same problem?

I just cant watch videos on YouTube or Facebook after updating to ios8.0.2. Can anybody tell how to fix that?

Differing sites use slightly different standards for videos, there are possibly other posts about this sort problem see for instance [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/790642 this one] . You may see a suitable answer in one of the other threads.
It is also worth noting Internet Explorer will use different FlashPlayer plugins, even though the version numbers may correspond with those used by Firefox.

  • Can I use QuickTime player to watch video in YouTube

Can I use he QuickTime player to watch video in YouTube, I seen like YouTube use flash player

Some DVDs and Blu-Ray movies come with a "digital copy" that allows you to download a copy of the movie for use on computers and portable devices. You might see if any of the DVDs you have come with such a feature. Walmart/Vudu also has a service that basically gives you a digital copy of a DVD you already own. See:

  • How long is the iPad battery last while watching video on YouTube with 3G?

How long is the iPad2 battery last while watching video on YouTube with 3G?

My iPad 2 battery can use only ~7 hours 15mins when surfing the web using cellular data network. Is it normal?
I would say that's normal. Cellular uses more power than wifi. Your screen brightness is also a factor. Lower the screen brightness & battery will last longer.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. I have just upgrade my Ipad3 to IO6 and for some reason the youtube app just gone disappeared. Please help!!

The YouTube app is not included in iOS 6. You will either need to try one of the YouTube apps from the store (there is an iPhone optimised app from google, and other people have said that they are working on an iPad version), or try accessing the mobile version via Safari : http://m.youtube.com (you can create a home screen shortcut for the site)

  • Pros and cons for posing video to youtube for use in iWeb

    Hello
Can someone explain the pros and cons of posting video to YouTube for use in an iWeb website instead of iDisk?
    Thanks
    Carl

Carl ~ Some of the following points have already been mentioned above, but anyway...
Pros for posting videos to YouTube are:
Viewers of your video wouldn't be using up your limited .Mac data transfer allowance.
Once your site is published, if subsequently you have to do a +Publish All+ from iWeb, you wouldn't be uploading your video yet again to .Mac ~ saving time and usage of your limited .Mac data transfer allowance.
YouTube videos have a wide audience and popular features such as ratings, playlists, comments, etc.
Cons for posting videos to YouTube are:
Limitations on size and quality of videos and their unappealing presentation style. For example, compare YouTube's presentation style and limited size options with that of a +.Mac Web Gallery+:
    http://gallery.mac.com/emily_parker#100471
Perhaps a compromise would be to post your videos to YouTube (for the publicity) and link from your iWeb site to a +.Mac Web Gallery+ (for its elegance and avoidance of iWeb re-publishing it.)
