Resolution with LCD tv

I have my MBP hooked up to my LCD tv via VGA port I have found the best resolution is 1024x768 at 60hz however the tv is capable of 1366x768 but in displays it does not give this as an option it gives you alot of options even ones that a beyond the limit of the tv such as 1920x1080 i am curious because on my power mac the LCD display is made by the same company as the tv but on the power mac the max res is what the monitor can do no more however that one is using DVI i don 't know if that makes a difference or not everything works fine it is more of a curiosity question thanks

Thanks, Loner T. I have a few of those laying around.

  • Cant Get Optimal Resolution with Lenovo L192 LCD Monitor after GeForce video driver upgrade

    Hello,
I just upgraded my GeForce video drivers for the integrated GeForce 6100 video chipset in my Lenovo 3000 series desktop.  My monitor is a Lenovo L192 LCD.  It has been working fine but I decided to upgrade the video drivers.  After installation and reboot, I can no longer get the optimal resolution of 1440 x 900 for this monitor.  The highest resolution offered is 1360 x 768.  I had this same problem the last time I upgraded the video drivers but somehow I manged or someone told me how to get the higher resolution.  I reverted back to the old driver that was working fine and now I can't get the higher resolution with that driver either.  I think I have the latest driver provided by Lenovo for the monitor.
I am running Windows XP SP3.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Could you fix it or does anyone else have a solution?

  • How to handle and manage a multi Database access in runtime with LCDS?

    Hello there
I got several customer working with the same application and I wonder how,  with LCDS,  to manage  in a runtime a multi dataBase access; without creating a configuration "mxl" file in
the folder catalina for each database.
Indeed, each customer have their own dataBase, and so far, I did not find out how to avoid creating a config xml file in catalina for every single database; which force me to create as well for each customer a  folder application, since the name of the config file in catalina require a folder application to be ran under tomcat....
    Thus, my question is :
Is there anyway to create only one configuration mxl file in catalina (in the server side) and then from the client side (application) let the user select its environment (meaning its database) to run the application.... this technic can be also used for multi database environment such as : Dev / Test / Prod   environment (or database) where the same application can access to.
Please if any one have an idea or already delt with; just let me know, because I'm entering in a bootle neck and the situation is getting serioulsy critical....

What format are they? Tiif? Jpeg? You can compress them with a lot of apps - including Preivew and just about any graphics editor out there. I'm not sure that 45mb would crash iPhoto thogh, are yo sure that's the cause? I know that some folks have mentioned pixel dimensions causing issues, as can color profiles.

  • Changing screen resolution with a button

    Hi,
I would like to ask if there is a way for an interface to change the screen resolution of the computer? I am wanting to build an interface that loads an interactive camera that works with processing however I am needing it to be at the resolution 800*900 as the webcam screen is too small on a full 1680x1050 resolution.
Is there a way for the flash application to change the screen resolution with a button click? Are  there any alternatives to this?
    Thank you
    Jess

It is to display a portfolio at my design school for assessment, they will accomodate any necessary things that i may need for assessment viewing so it is very important to me.
Do you know what programs will work with this? What program would i have to install?
I only need to do this for my assessment so it is almost a desperate search for something that would work.

  • Authorization with LCDS

I have a flex application and LCDS running on CF8 running on JRun4 on the server.
The flex application authenticates users with LCDS security that in term uses custom-authentication together with Jrun-security to authenticate against a MySQL DB.
I use various data services in LCDS that work together with CFC's to get and set data in my DB.
I would like to do server-side authorization (not authentication) to restrict users based on - for example - their role(s). What would be the best strategy in this setup?
    Kind regards.
    Alexandro

    Hello -
Since you're using CFCs on the backend (server side) you can secure the app there.  Maybe you've already solved this but incase you didn't implement anything yet you can take a look at this link.  You should get familiar with cflogin,
cfloginuser, cflogout, GetAuthUser, IsUserInRole, Securing Applications in Developing ColdFusion MX Applications.

  • Kde screen resolution with nvidia driver

    Hi,
I am completely new to ArchLinux.  I really enjoyed installing it and its a hoot to play around with!
I am having a problem getting the screen resolution to work well with the monitor and the resolution with KDE 4.3.  I found that by changing the resolution to 1024x768 and changing the refresh rate to 53 or 54hz, the fonts that otherwise display horribly with the nvidia driver and installed nvidia card will suddenly become beautiful.  I went to Kmenu, Settings, then display settings, and changed the configuration, and everything worked great.
But on next boot up after I have shut down the computer, X doesn't remember these settings and the fonts look terrible again.  If I open the kmenu again and look at the display settings, they are still set at 1024x768 and 54 hz.  Once I have looked at them, the screen on the monitor goes dark for a second.  Then the computer knows that I want those settings without me changing anything, and adjusts to them without having to hit the apply button.  Then the fonts look great again.
How can I get the display to start with those settings?  I have tried several configurations of the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file without success, so I need some help.
    Thanks

I know some time back using nvidia driver with my particular monitor, i had to tell it what resolution/refresh rate to use by default or else X would make a poor choice as to what it wanted the default to be (put me in 800x600 or something like that  by default).  I was able to tell X to default to what I wanted by adding in a Metamode line in my xorg.conf, i think under the screen section. I'm out right now and won't be back to my box to look up exactly what I did, but hopefully this might give a starting point if you havent tried it already.  Metamodes in xorg.conf under the Display section if i remember right.  I specified a resolution there and it now uses that as the default.

If you are having the same issue on several computers then it is a hardware issue! Not a software issue! Replacement is the only resolution!

  • Checking PDF Resolution with Preflight Single Checks

While checking resolution with Acrobat 10.1.1, I am baffled and need comments from you all on how to interpret the following preflight reports:
Checking whether the ppi of my PDF is less than 150 results in a big red X and then states that the document is 96ppi?
And - why do the results state No Problems Found when a check is run on the same document asking whether the resolution is between 100 - 120 ppi if the document is indeed 96ppi ?

If the method seems complicated, I think it may be that, like many people, you don't realise that the question is complicated too.
It is best not to say "resolution of a PDF" because it sounds as if a PDF has just one resolution. If it were that simple there would be a box to popup with that resolution.
Rather, each image in a PDF has a resolution, potentially different. So you need to use preflight, to check every image against the rules you want.
So you can't say "the resolution of my document is 96 ppi". Rather, "my document contains at least one image at 96 ppi". The others might be the same, or this might be the only one, with all the others at (say) 300 ppi.

  • Adaptive Resolution with OpenGL doesn't work

I wanna use Adaptive Resolution with OpenGL, so I checked on OpenGL with Adaptive Resolution, but it's chosen and unchosen state doesn't make any difference on the OpenGL preview. I've already tried to mess with the settings.
    Could someone help me?

OpenGL stuff is handled via the prefs. There is no "Adaptive Resolution" in this mode - either it works at the resolutions specified in the prefs or it doesn't. The behavior is actually quite logical - if your graphics card is too weak, the OpenGL texture buffer will only be calculated once at the resolution, if the card has sufficient juice, it will always be full res. Everything else wouldn't make much sense...

  • 16:10 screen resolutions with MacOS 9?

I've just connected a PowerMac G4 (AGP 400) with MacOS 9.0.4 to a new LG wide screen LCD display, a 20.1" display that supports natively the 1680x1050 pixel resolution through the VGA connector.
The Monitor control panel lists only regular 4:3 or 5:4 resolutions, like 800x600, 1024x768, 1152x870, 1280x1024, but no chance to see the native resolution. I would connect the display to the computer thru the DVI-ADC connector, but I lack the DVI-ADC adaptor.
Is it a constraint of the graphic chipset? The G4 is equipped with the built-in ATI Rage Pro 128 with 16 MB RAM, with dual display connectors, a standard VGA and a ADC one.
Is there a way to see 1680x1050 with OS 9? I haven't tried the MacOS 9.1 or the MacOS 9.2.2 yet: I really hope such upgrades fix my issue, because I can't afford a 4:3 resolution stretched to 1680 pixels and a 16:10 screen ratio.
PowerMac G4 AGP 400 MHz   Mac OS 9.0.x

Hi, Marco and welcome to Apple Discussions. I can't
find any useful information on LG's website about how
much VRAM is necessary to support your monitor's
native 1680 x 1050 resolution in millions of colors,
but I suspect it's more than 16MB. If you reduce the
number of colors in the Monitors control panel to
thousands, are you offered any higher resolutions or
different aspect ratios? If not, your video card may
be too old and inflexible to support your new
monitor. I would call LG's tech support and ask.
I don't believe there is any limitation in OS 9
itself that would cause your problem.
Well, I didn't try to downgrade the color depth, but I will try soon. In past times it was fairly easy to calculate the V-RAM needed to support some pixel resolution, but with all those gigabyted graphic boards, it seems hardly there's still a strict dependency.
1680x1050 million colors needs theoretically only 6,7 MB...
