(Resolved) HP ZBook 17 Mobile Workstation problems

Unable to encode video pass 14 minutes. File, Qt reference or Quicktime same as source yeilds the very same results. I have also tried TMPGENC with the same results. I am using Sorenson Squeeze 9 pro and Avid Media Composer 8.3. I have 16gigs of memory. Could there be something wrong with the computer? I purchased it several weeks ago refurbished.
I resolved the issue I worked on for a minimum of 6 hours per day for the last week. It turned out to not be hardware related, but Sorenson Squeeze 9 pro.

I have placed those RAMs on expandable memory board and restarted the laptop but laptop didnt recognize both the RAMs (4 GB x 2 ).

Ummm...what? I think you have 3 or 4 different topics all mixed up in there, but without any punctuation I am unable to understand you.
I think you cannot find the AppWorld icon on your BB, so please try this sequence:
1) Remove AppWorld from your BB

2) Do a Batt-Pull reboot (power on, remove battery, wait, insert battery, wait), even if redundant to the one you did in step 1.
3) Install (on your BB) a fresh copy of AppWorld

4) Do another Batt-Pull reboot
5) See if it now works.
I think you also have some problem with backups, but from your words I cannot even guess at what that's about. Hence, please see the link in my auto-sig on this post for proper backup instructions, and use that as a better guide from which to ask for help.

Since it will not boot then a hardware test can't be run. You could try FireWire Target Disk Mode and if it works then access from another Mac to run tests on the new drive. You could also try installing the OS X software from the host computer. If this does not work then professional help should be considered.

I solved the problem of security exception I mentioned at java procedure topic as following:
ORA-29532: Java call terminated by uncaught Java exception: java.lang.SecurityException
I tried to use your solution as following:
call dbms_java.grant_permission('SDE', 'java.net.SocketPermission', 'ORCL.COHPA.UCF.EDU','resolve');
but SQL*plus gave me a error message:
invalid collumn.
What's the problem?
However, I call a grant command as following:
SQL> grant JAVASYSPRIV to sde;
and then that exception is gone. What's the difference between dbms_java.grant_permission and grant command?

Mobile workstation needs

Hello all, Im new to the Adobe forum and have some questions regarding mobile workstation needs. I have grown very accustomed to using laptops and in the next month going to acquire a new machine.
First off all, I dont want to offend those that use Macs, but I love Windows based systems. I have used both, but I am the most comfortable with with win 7.
He is s a little background, I have used Alienware MX17 and DELL MX17 XPS for a few years, the Alienware crapped out a year or so ago and the XPS is still running well, but Im finding its slow. I do a lot of post editing for others and a lot of my own images. My files are averaging 300MB + and sometimes up to a GB. I use mostly PSCS6 and some NIK software and a couple Alienskin plugins.
I have all my files kept on ext drives, so my needs are to maximize performance and stability.
I was thinking of another Alienware, but looking into EUROCOM , Malibal, Lenovo, HP, Origin, Sager.   My main concerns are fast processors : Intel i7 extreme or the Xeon. I want to max out the RAM at 34gb. I also know I need the best NVidia graphics , such as the 8800 SLI cards.
If anyone has suggestions that I am not looking at, or help in deciding on a machine. I am mostly concerned with customer service/ after purchase care, good construction, and last but not least, I like a nice , simple, elegant, black case. I know it will be a beefy machine, and I need 17" displays.

Now, Im hoping that Im not expecting too much of a difference in Photoshop performance. I hope its not " Oh, this kinda faster"....... Im not expecting to have my "mind blown" but I just hope I dont feel like I spent so much and get a mediocre experience.

Try a reset. Press & hold the Power and Home buttons together for 10+ seconds, ignoring the red power-off slider, until you see the Apple logo. It is safe to do, there should be no content loss. It is the same as rebooting your computer.

Hp mobile workstation hardware upgrading

Does hp elite 8540w Intel® Core™ i7 CPU Q 740 @ 1.73GHz can support 3ds max 2011, 2012 and 2013 for rendering job???
If this mobile workstation labtop can be able to upgrade to Intel® Core™ i7 CPU Q 820 @ 1.73GHz or higher speed /more GHz...???

I will rephrase, just to clarify my understanding.
So, you are basically saying that:
1. Volts should always match (No More/No Less or else components are in danger)
2. Amperes should at least meet the minimum requirement (More amperes would not cause any issues)
Thanks for sharing the Maintenance Guide. You also shared the Part Numbers of Adapters that are supported. I did a little search and found following against each Part Number:

613159-001
Although, I could not find anything with respect to above Part Numbers on HP Site which would have made it very easy to match the Volts and Amperes of the Adapter that I have, but above were shown as results of respective Part Numbers in ebay. My Adapter matches perfectly with the second Part Number (19.5 Volts/11.8 Amperes), so would it be safe to conclude that my Adapter is supported by the Notebook.
With respect to Battery, 14.8 V/5200 mAH and 14.8V/4800 mAH are supported for this Notebook. Would a 14.4V/4400 mAH be supported or workable on this Notebook? (Please note the difference of 0.4 V)
