[Resolved]Outlook 2013 with Office 365: Unable to log in to: SharePoint. Click here to log in.

This is posted so that it may be of assistance to others.
I am using Outlook 2013 (Office 2013 Pro Plus) with Office 365 (E3 Subscription). Active Directory is federated with Office 365. I recently had to change my AD account password.
On my home computer, that is not a domain member and is running Windows 8.1 with my personal Microsoft account, Outlook was not authenticating to SharePoint Online. In the message/event windows the error "Unable to log in to: SharePoint. Click
here to log in." is displayed. When I click the error it flashes and does nothing else. Outlook was showing SEND/RECEIVE errors for all of my SharePoint Online calendars and lists:
Task 'SharePoint' reported error (0x80070005): 'You do not have permission to view this SharePoint List (IT Shared Calendar). Contact the SharePoint site administrator. HTTP 403.'
I could send and receive e-mail. I deleted one of the calendars and then added it back from the SharePoint site ribbon- no change. I was always able to access the calendars and lists using IE.
I checked Windows Credential Manager. I deleted my Outlook credential (MS.Outlook.15) which prompted me to enter my Exchange Online credentials but did not prompt for SharePoint Online. I then deleted my Office credential (MicrosoftOffice15_Data:orgid) with
no change.
It was not until I switched Office over to use my organizational (Federated AD) account that the problem was resolved.
It appears Outlook (15.0.4615.1000) now gets confused between accounts- because previously I had no issues when changing my password as Outlook would always prompt for it. I noticed this behavior had changed on my office computer when Outlook did not give
me the usual three prompts for password after changing it.

  • Outlook 2013 with Office 365 and Google Apps Sync.

This is the scenario, hopefully somebody can give me some insight on how to resolve this.
Outlook 2013 with gapps. Both updated.
Outlook profile with an office 365 email account (which is as an exchange account) and google apps with our main account.
We installed an office 365 account since its the only way that several users can share and edit the same contacts on Outlook. They use almost all contact fields.
Gapps its the main email address and calendar. Shared calendars are deeply used too.
The problem is that when I edit a contact (the exchange account) I get an error -when- I edit the email field.
"The operation failed. The messaging interfaces returned an unknown error."
If I make a new Outlook profile with the exchange account and the gapps account via imap setup I get not errors BUT I loose calendars sync.
So I went back to the main profile and thought. <maybe both contacts engines are screwing Outlook.> So, since I don't care about gapps contacts anymore I disabled via:
    Disable sync for individual products
    https://support.google.com/a/answer/1041455?hl=en
And also disabled the dynamic Global Address (just in case).
    But the same happens.
I tried with another box, with office 2010, updated it and made a new profile with the office 365 and gapps and the same history.
Finally I though about setting the office 365 account as imap but contacts are not downloaded.
So I'm between a rock and a hard place here.
I need to use office 365 account in the same profile as gapps account.

    Hi,
What’s the file size of your Outlook data file? If your data file is over size, it may cause data file corruption.
Outlook data file corruption may cause this problem. Please try to run a repair of your Outlook data files to check the result:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/272227/en-us
Note: You may need to run Scanpst.exe for several times until there is no error.
In addition, here is a thread discussed a similar issue, please take a look at it and check if it helps:

  • Can't connect outlook 2013 with Office 365 (Eventid 36888)

We got a newly installed computer (windows 8.1) joined in a windows 2008 R2 domain. Most of the clients don't have issues with connecting to office 365. But
    this one has problems.
    1. When I try to connect to office 365, outlook prompts me the following:
    - An encrypted connection to your mail server is not available ... (try unencrypted ...)
    2. When I have a look to the eventvwr I see the following error:
    - Source: Schannel
    - Event ID: 36888
    - User: System
    - Message: The following fatal alert was generated: 10. The internal error state is 10. This concerning TLS-protocol.
    - Details: ProcessID: 564
    3. When I have a look to ProcessID 564 who generates the problem I see lsass.exe.
I performed already the following thing:
    - Outside the domain there is no problem
    - Reinstalled office doesn't help
    - Configure outlook for office 365 doesn't help
    - Checked the server and removed all gpo's, scripts for that user, ...
    - The user is local Admin
Can you please assist me with this ?
    Regards,
    Steven

    Hi Steven,
Please check whether the user can access the mailbox in OWA. If the problematic user can access mailbox from OWA, we can try to create a new Outlook profile to connect to Office 365. Please make sure the setting of "Encrypt data between Microsoft Outlook
and Microsoft Exchange" is checked in Account Settings.
If it doesn't work, please check whether the account can be configured in another computer.

  • CUCM10, IMP10, Jabber 9.7 and Outlook 2013 with Office 365 - No Outlook Calendar

    Hi,
Jabber is running fine except seem unable to show users Outlook Calendar in Jabber. TAC suspect its not supported as there are some MAPI register keys missing.
Any ideas? The certificate seems happy.
    Rich

    Hi Rich,
Were you ever able to resolve the issue? I was able to remove Lync by using Click-to-install with an XML file exempting Lync from the install. See below:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219423.aspx
The XML can be modified to exempt certain programs:
    <Configuration>
      <Add SourcePath="C:\%yourfilepathhere%" OfficeClientEdition="64">
       <Product ID="O365ProPlusRetail" >
         <Language ID="en-us" />
         <ExcludeApp ID="Lync" />
       </Product>
      </Add>
    </Configuration>
you run the setup.exe with a /download and then a /configure referencing the above xml.
    for example:
    C:\yourfilepathhere> setup.exe /download c:\yourfilepathhere\configuration.xml
    C:\yourfilepathhere> setup.exe /configure c:\yourfilepathhere\configuration.xml
I tried this, however, and I was still not seeing the calendar in Jabber. I am still working with Microsoft support and TAC. If I get a resolution I will try to remember to post it in here.

  • Outlook does not sync with Office 365

I am having issues with 3 "newly" created account on Office 365 with Outlook 2013.
    Office 365 Accounts
    All 3 accounts are new
All 3 had not have any emails imported
All accounts on the same domain etc etc
    Outlook 2013
Running in Windows 7/8 with EXCHANGE mode (not IMAP or POP)
It syncs initially, then does not send or
sync anything (ie. emails, contacts, calendars, tasks etc)
Account cache of between 3-24 months - none works
Tried with Cache disabled - still persistent
Tried Outlook in Safe Mode - no difference
Outlook 2013 is FRESH Win7x64 install on a PC WITHOUT any Office - still same
Outlook 2013 on existing Win8x64 - same result
It is NOT an OST error as all 3 are NEW accounts and newly created OST
Tried that Outlook debugger website with 13 methods to try - still the same
    Outlook 2011 (Mac)
Created new Identity - works perfectly
Emails, Contacts, Calendars and Tasks all synchronise properly
I remember Microsoft used to make Microsoft products work with each other fantastic OOB - why does it work on a Mac but not on a Windows PC?

This is very frustrating, I cannot seem to get the Exchange Server as the "About" is no longer available, and I cannot get the Exchange GUID via Powershell:
I have found that my mailbox seems to be linked to: pod51057.outlook.com
Tried a manual to that name and get an infinite Username/Password loop - dead end.
Tried to connect via PowerShell: http://help.outlook.com/en-us/140/cc952755.aspx
However I was getting errors, but got it working and got the Mailbox ID:

Ok, from here, I have configured Mail as per this article, however used Mailbox ID instead of the server: http://blogs.technet.com/b/hot/archive/2012/02/06/how-to-manually-configure-outlook-office-365.aspx
Account successfully connected and started Outlook - however it failed, so I determined the mailbox server as per this article: http://community.office365.com/en-us/f/685/t/141805.aspx
I got the server as hkxpr06.outlook.com
I entered this details into Outlook and the following error appears:
Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be
opened. The of folders cannot be opened.
Bad English syntax! Wouldnt have mind, but Outlook still does not work, so re-opened and oddly it worked!
Waited for the sync to finish...

  • Does On-Premise TFS 2013 work with Office 365 natively or do I need an Exchange/O365 Hybrid solution?

Hello. We currently have an on-premise Exchange 2010 environment with 2 servers setup in a DAG. Our Development Department uses an on-premise TFS 2013 server for everything, they can't work without
it. Upper Management wants the IT Dept to move the company from on-premise Exchange 2010 DAG to Office 365. My concern is TFS 2013 since it uses AD and Exchange for workflow notifications. An employee's AD account is given permission to resources
inside TFS 2013 and since Exchange attributes are tied to their AD account they receive workflow notifications. My question is will I need to keep a permanent Exchange 2010/O365 Hybrid solution in-place in order for TFS 2013 to continue function
properly? If the answer is yes than that is fine, I am just looking for confirmation before I start the project. I would appreciate any advice on this topic.<o:p></o:p>
    Thanks<o:p></o:p>
    <o:p></o:p>

    Hi Cirbin,
As far as I know, it's not supported to integrate TFS 2013 with Office 365. You can check the
    link for more information.
For your situation, whether keep a permanent Exchange 2010/O365 Hybrid solution or not, you might open a new thread in SharePoint/Exchange forum for a better response.  From the thred, seems you need  to keep the hybrid solution.
And for integration Office 365 users to TFS, please vote the user voice

  • Outlook 2013 Not Responding and Offline Address Book Issues with Office 365

Around 3 months ago I setup a small business with Office 365 for email. They have 10 PCs, all running newly installed Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, eight with Office 2013 and two with Office 2010. All are connected to a local domain (Server Essentials
2012) with a single internet connection through a new TP-LINK router. Each user logs into their own PC only.
The network runs perfectly, internet connection is good but there seems to be RANDOM, INTERMITTENT issues with email not being SENT from Outlook every so often. Email will sit in the outbox for up to an hour sometimes before, eventually, being sent. Incoming
email seems ok, although this is more difficult to tell. At others times, email will be sent instantly - the size of the message and any attachments makes no difference.
The issue has happened at some point on every one of the PCs but no particular PC/user seems worse than any other. When email is stuck on one user's PC it can still be sent ok by other users at the same time - so the internet connection is not down. Users can
can always login to the OWA service ok and iPhones etc. all sync ok even when email is stuck in the Outbox.
To debug the issue I have worked on one particular user's PC and carried out the following changes -
    Changes that made no difference
I have checked the router. A SPI firewall is available on the router but this is switched off.
I have changed the MTU on the router with no effect.
There are no unsual add-ins to Outlook
Outgoing email virus scanning is disabled
Outlook is NOT integrated with Lync
The OST file is around 1.7 GBytes is size.
I have recreated the Outlook profile twice but this made no difference
Switched OFF "Cached Exchange Mode" - this made things worse !
The Outlook address book is set to \Offline Global Address List
I have disabled with Windows firewall on the client PC - no change
I have adjusted the KeepAliveTime for packets in the registry of the PC to 20 minutes
Changes that reduced the frequency of "Not Responding"
I have changed the Outlook automatic Send/Receive time from 30 to 10 minutes - this seemed to help
    Possible Related Problem
I have attempted to download the offline address book manually - this hangs at "Copying offline address book template file" in the Send/Receive dialog and there a NO OAB files in the data file location on the PC.
So the only measure that has so far "helped" has been the Outlook Send/Receive time change - now set to 10 minutes. Even so, Outlook will occasionally go "Not Responding" for 30 minutes or more (no windows active - only option
is to close and reopen Outlook).
There does seem to be a problem with the Offline Address book. I can download this ok for this user on my home PC (Outlook 2010) but this will not download manually on the work pc with Outlook 2013 (despite following all the debug steps above).
On work PC I can see literally hundreds of "Schannel" errors in the Windows System event logs -
    Error - Event 36888 Schannel
The following fatal error was generated :10
The internal error state is 10
These errors occur every 2-4 minutes continually all the time Outlook is running. When Outlook is closed the "Schannel" errors stop !
Can anyone suggest what else to try, please ?
I have already investigated this issue on the Office 365 Community Forum, and the Outlook forum and they suggested that it was a client (i.e Outlook) issue and that I should post here for further information.
    Thanks for reading !

    An update to this problem.
I brought one of the office PCs back to my home network and connected it up there. With no changes to the PC I was immediately able to download the Offline Address Book without errors.
This suggests to me that there must be some problem with the internet connection or router setup in the office environment.
The router is a TP-LINK W8970. The internet connection is PPPoA. I have seen some suggestion that an SPI firewall can cause issues. This router has an SPI firewall but this feature is disabled on the router.
While investigating this issue I have frequently been connected remotely to an office PC - sometimes for up to an hour or more. During these periods I have not experienced any connection dropouts so the actual internet connection seems to be ok (i.e. it is
    not dropping out).
However, something seems to be preventing the Outlook client from connecting properly with the Office 365 Exchange server in the office environment - or something is dropping the connection to Outlook. Does anyone know of any router settings that might affect
    this ?
I could try changing the office router but I do not have a spare available. Can anyone suggest a reasonably low cost, currenbtly available router that they know definitely works in the Office 365 environment so that I could buy this for test purposes ?

  • Is Outlook 2007 compatible with Office 365?

Is Outlook 2007 compatible with Office 365? The Office 365 will be part of Windows 2012 Essentials.

As of the time I am writing this, outlook 2007 still works (but I can personally attest that the experience isn't great.) By the time you read this, that can change and it may not work anymore. Microsoft only guarantees compatibility wothnoffoce
products in mainstream support. So that is 2010 and 2013 (or 365 Pro Plus equivalents.) 2007 is only in extended support, so MS has no guarantees or obligation to maintain compatibility, and they *specifically* call out 2007 support in their supported client
    documentation.

  • Outlook 2013 with Exchange 2007 - out of office problem

We are using outlook 2013 with Exchange 2007. When users select their out of office it will work fine for the first day, however there after the Out of Office replies stop working. Out of Office is set correctly within Outlook, but what we have found
is that if the user opens Outlook the Out of Office starts to work again. Also when the user opens Outlook it takes around two minutes before it registers that Out of Office is on.
    Any Ideas?

    Hi,
How do you configure your OOF? From standard OOF wizard or define an automatic reply template from Rule wizard?
If you are using a template, Outlook must be running for the Rules Wizard to automatically reply. Please refer to the Note in the following KB:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/311107
If it is configured by using standard Out of Office assistance in File > Automatic Replies, please remove OOF settings in Outlook and set it from OWA 2007, then check whether the issue can be reproduced.

  • Search SharePoint 2013 On-Prem with Office 365

We're trying to understand federated search in SharePoint 2013, when it comes to Office 365. We have both a SharePoint 2013 on-prem environment, and an Office 365 environment. The 2 are completely separate, and have not been configured to use a hybrid model.
Is it possible to configure a Result Source in either the SharePoint environment or the Office 365 environment to index the other? Reading this
article from Technet, it indicates that you can configure a remote SharePoint farm as a Result Source:
    "Remote SharePoint provides
results from the index of a search service in another farm."
    But I've read on another
thread on here that this is not possible from O365.
I'm hoping that someone can provide some guidance, or point me in the right direction.
    Thanks,
    cflbasser

Yes, you can receive search results from an on-premise SharePoint Server 2013 farm within SharePoint Online.
Hybrid search between SharePoint Server and SharePoint online uses federated search results. Neither the on-premise farm nor SPO crawl the other location, they just send a federated search query over the fence and wait for the results.
You can search in either direction (one-way hybrid search) or both ways (bidirectional hybrid search).
The one-way search can either be SharePoint Server sending search queries to SPO or SPO sending queries to SharePoint Server which also needs a reverse proxy for securely publishing your on-premise farm to SPO.
Bi-directional hybrid search just combines both one-way methods together so either location can receive search results from the other location.

  • Affects when migrating from Office 2013 to Office 365

I currently have office 2013, with two email addresses being used in Outlook.  I need to download Office 365 which I have already purchased.   Will this have any affect on my two Outlook email addresses, and all the emails that are there?

    Hi,
The activation and licensing are different between the Office 2013 and Office 365. We can't just
switch activated Office 2013 to Office 365. We can only uninstall Office 2013 and then install Office 365. In theory, we won't lose any emails in the email accounts configured in Office 2013. Just in case, we can back up your Outlook data files
of the two email accounts and then conduct the migration. To back up the data files, please refer:

  • Exchange Server 2013 and Office 365 Integration

If we are using Exchange Server 2013 on premise, can we have 2 of our users integrated with Office 365 so that they can utilize their Exchange Server email account with the apps and features of Office 365?

    Hi,
You can deploy a hybrid environment using Exchange 2013 CU2 or later version with Office 365.
Could you please tell me what do you mean by "we have 2 of our users integrated with Office 365 so that they can utilize their Exchange Server email account with the apps and features of Office 365"?
Here is my understanding: You create these two mailboxes on Exchange 2013, but you need to allow for redirection from the on-premises OWA environment to the Office 365 OWA. If that is your case, you need to specify a target URL for your organization(for
example, www.outlook.com/contoso.com). If I have misunderstood your concern, please let me know.

    Hi,
Based on the description, you wanted to create Outlook profile to connect to Exchange 2003 on SBS 2003. But you got error message. Is it right?
    What’s your Outlook version?
Office 365 Home is compatible with only Windows 7 or later, and Mac OS X 10.6 or later. And Outlook 2013 doesn’t support Exchange 2003.

  • Outlook 2013 with Dynamics 2013 CRM Plugin extremely slow

I have recently upgraded my Dynamics CRM server from 2013 to 2013 SP1
All of my user machines (VDI) have office 2013 with the Dynamics CRM 2011 plugin installed (I previous had Dynamics CRM 2011 on a seperate server, but 2013 was released before we set it up and so I removed the old 2011 server).
The website has a GlobalSign SSL against it and runs fine internally and externally. I also have a terminal server running Server 2012 with Outlook 2013 and the Dynamics CRM 2011 plugin and this also runs fine.
My machine was running fine but I decided to upgrade the Outlook plugin to 2013 and that's where my problems started. I removed the 2011 plugin (and even followed the detailed guide on how to completely remove it) and then installed the 2013 plugin.
It installed fine but when I use it, it is ridiculously slow. For example, I highlight an email and then click "Track" in the tool bar. What should happen is the little icon of the blue/green people should appear next to it and then the options for
"Convert To" text should be available, but they are not. The button at the top changed to read "Untrack" but that's it, making it completely unusable. If I go an make a tea, and then come back and then go an make another tea, sometimes
it will have updated by the time i get back, but generally it does not. I can close and re-open outlook and still the icon does not display next to the email. Interestingly although the button at the top reads "Untrack" which indicates that it is
being tracked, the pane at the bottom reads "This email is not being tracked in CRM".
Now, if I logon to the terminal (RDS) server (that I mentioned above) everything works fine and Outlook updates immediately, all the machines are on the same VLAN and so I should be able to rule out firwall issues (that terminal server is still running the
2011 plugin) so that would indicate that this is a problem with my machine. I created a fresh machine and installed that same applications and the same problem was had, so that now indicated that its a problem with the plugin perhaps or something very specific
    to my setup.
I had tried to download and install SP1 for Dynamics CRM 2013 for Outlook but on 2 separate machines I received the same error when installing
The log for my attempt last night shows:

I also tried manually installing Rollup 2 before installing SP1 but I still get the same error.
Now I'm not sure if the Outlook plugin update is going to fix the problem, so as it stands I have 2 problems:
Very very slow Outlook CRM Plugin when updating emails and icons
Cannot install 2013 CRM SP1 for Outlook
So, I'm stumped, and this is really holding me back. I will post any updates here, but if anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

I have Outlook 2013 with the CRM 2013 Outlook client and it was running fine until about a week ago.  I ran windows update and suddenly everything stopped working. I am going to try to uninstall all the updates until I determine which one is the cause
of the problem.  It would be nice if MS tested before releasing updates...

  • ADFS single sign-on with office 365 and multiple forests

I have 2 forests with one of them (Forest A) only running Exchange / Office 365 in hybrid mode. The other forest (Forest B) has my AD accounts for everyday user login and work. Is there a way to set up ADFS between these 2 forests in order for Forest B
to achieve single sign-on to office 365? Today users have to login with separate office 365 accounts in order to access email and sharepoint. Short of migrating Forest A into Forest B and getting down to one forest / domain, is there anything else we can do
    to achieve single sign-on?

    Hi,
Based on my research, we can have one ADFS farm servicing multiple forests, here are some related articles below for your references:
