[RESOLVED] RAID0 starts becoming readonly after heavy load

fIve got RAID0 made from two Barracuda 500GB harddrives from 2 years. Recetly, after making I/O load (for example - coping 50 photos to disk from SD card), raid is going to read-only mode.
I got many errors in /var/log/everything.log:

Strange thing, that after this errors, SMART of one harddrive completly turns off. But before errors, SMART reports that drive is ok, and never failed any test.

Looks like your hard drive may be failing (possibly), or maybe a hardware issue with the motherboard/sata controller and the kernel drivers.
Perhaps try running a full offline fsck and badblocks over both drives and see what they return.

  • UserDecisionHandler becomes SAPIACLauncher after SP loaded

Hi to all the Portal  - UWL experts,
We upgraded from SP 14 to SP19 for the Portal EP7, Suddenly all approval buttons were missing.
We Re Registered and cleared the cash.
We then crashed in transaction "BWWF_WI_DECI " :
********Template "templates\iac\dm\generator.html" contains syntax errors and therefore*
*******could not be compiled.Cause of error:Include "templates\iac\dm\menu.html" not available.
    ********with :Universal Resource Id. "/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/BWWF_WI_DECI"
After the activation of*  BWWF_WI_DECI ,  the approval buttons were there but:
The UserDecisionHandler  (that were on all our decision tasks ) were all changed to handler=SAPIACLauncher.
Now the wizard for the UWL does not want to work for these tasks.
Something is very wrong but what?? I tested the connection in the system Landscape to the SAP_ECC system and it seems fine.
I want to add the Properties for 'UserDecisionNote ' into the XML but I don't want to do the xml changes if the handler is wrong.
    Please help!!!!!

    Hi,
Apply note : 11333821 , then do gain a re register and clearing of cash.
The XML now has UIActionHandler but we put the code for the decision handler into the XML and it works fine.
We are in business again on our Portal after the SP loading.
Hope this helps a lot of people and saves a lot of time to log a message with SAP, which is a real pain these days.

  • A few selection of websites after fully loading become blank and start an infinite loop of loading. I reinstalled firefox once already and the problem persists. What can I do?

A few selection of websites after fully loading become blank and start an infinite loop of loading. I reinstalled firefox once already and the problem persists. What can I do?

Sorry I do not know what the problem may be. <br />
If no-one comes up with better ideas of what causes this then my questions and suggestions:
What do you mean by an infinite loop ? <br />
The page loads and then goes blank. What exactly happens next, does the page fully load and fully display again before going blank, and repeat this cycle endlessly in the same tab.
You do say the problem persisted in safe-mode and you had looked at the basic troubleshooting article. Buy that you can stop the problem by disabling javascript.
    * did you disable all plugins - and did you still get the problem then ?
As you mention disabling javascript stops the problem, have you tried with<br /> Java script enabled but
    * block popups ON
    * load images automatically OFF
    * advanced options - ALL OFF<br /> What happens do you get the problem then or not.
While on this firefox site if I look at the error console Ctrl+Sift+J or Tools -> Error console If I clear the console content and reload the webpage the error console shows only a couple of messages. YouTube home page give a lot of yellow triangle warnings about 200, but no red warnings, do you get red warnings.
You could also try on the problem sites eg YouTube changing the permissions with tools -> Page Info | Permissions
Did you try the Basic Troubeshooting suggestion of making a new profile. (Heeding the warning not to delete settings, otherwise you loose all bookmarks etc) did that help ?

  • Start up problems after loading Yosemite

Before OS X Yosemite I had no problems. Now when I turn my IMAC on the screen goes white with no response from Keyboard or mouse after the vertical bar fills. I have to shut off the power and try again until it finally completes the start up and I have a screen.

Try these in order testing your system after each to see if it's back to normal:
    1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
        b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the
computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager
screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
    4. Reinstall Yosemite: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall OS X from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.
    5. Reinstall Yosemite from Scratch:
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
How to Clean Install OS X Yosemite
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • A Single POP Sound from Left speaker, after system heavy load.

Hello From Russia)) I bought Brand New Macbook pro 15" Late 2011 Ci7, this is incredible machine. But a month past and i started to notice a very strange behavior:
When i using mac for resource "Eating" application or processes my computer starts to Heat-this is normal.
When i close all the apps here starts interesting) I have Istat installed, so i can see what temps are in my system. Computer is cooling, and when cpu reaches 50-55 degrees (Celsium, from 80 degrees, because of heavy load) ,my left speaker produces a single loud pop sound. (like something turning of may be)
In other terms of use absolutely is fine! It is very strange and i dont know is normal or not(
Thank you very much, and sorry for my english.

That is not something I would expect.  I would go to a repair facility and have it checked.
    Ciao.

  • Due to heavy load, the latest workflow operation has been queued. It will attempt to resume at a later time.

I have SharePoint 2010 Enterprise running SP1. Configuration is one SharePoint server in the farm and a SQL 2008 R2 database for the backend. Our user environment is 80 users with very little load on the SharePoint server. I have the workflow timer
    set to 1 minute.
I have a SPD workflow that starts manually on a form library. Whenever I publish a new version of the workflow, the next time I start the workflow it takes the full minute to finish. If I click on the workflow status before it finishes, I see the message
"Due to heavy load, the latest workflow operation has been queued. It will
attempt to resume at a later time.". After the minute completes the workflow finishes.
Here's the weird thing, the next time I start the workflow, it runs in a couple of seconds - almost instantly. I've tried up to 15 times after the inital publishing and everything seems to work fine on initiation.
Well, that would be fine for me, however, I intermintantly get this heavy load message during task processes that are running inside the workflow. It's probably less than 5% of the time. It's really frustrating though so I appreciate some help. I'm look
online and haven't found anything that describes my situation.
    Thank you in advance!

    Hi,
Before considering an additional hardware try to change following configurations for workflow:
    Increase Throttle Size
    Increase Batch Size
    Time Out
    Workflow Timer Interval
    AutoCleanUpDays
    Increase Throttle Size
The Workflow throttle setting controls how many Workflows can be processing at any one time on the entire server farm. By increasing the throttle it will allow the number of Workflows execution or can be initiated at a time.
Use below PowerShell command to get the current Throttle Size:
    Get-SPFarmConfig |
    Select WorkflowPostponeThreshold
Use below PowerShell command to set new Throttle Size:
    Set-SPFarmConfig -WorkflowPostponeThreshold
    100
    Increase Batch Size
This is the size that determines number of events processed for a single Workflow instance. Default value is 100, but it can be range from 1 to any number.
Use below PowerShell command to get the current Batch Size:
    Get-SPFarmConfig |
    Select WorkflowBatchSize
Use below PowerShell command to set new Batch Size:
    Set-SPFarmConfig -WorkflowBatchSize
    200
    Time Out
This decides the time out of the Workflow event. The default value is 5 and can be any integer. The time is in minute.
Use below STSADM command to get the current Time Out value:
    stsadm -o getproperty -pn workflow-eventdelivery-timeout
Use below STSADM command to get the current Time Out value:
    stsadm -o setproperty -pn workflow-eventdelivery-timeout -pv “15″
    Workflow Timer Interval
This setting is applicable at Web Application level and not the farm level. The workflow timer interval specifies how often the workflow SPTimer job fires to process pending workflow tasks. This interval also represents the granularity of delay timers within
your workflow. If a timer is set to delay for one minute, but the interval timer fires only every five minutes, the workflow delays for five minutes, not one minute.
Use below STSADM command to get the current Workflow Timer Interval value:
    stsadm -o getproperty -pn job-workflow -url <Web Application Url>
Use below STSADM command to get the current Workflow Timer Interval value:
    stsadm -o setproperty -pn job-workflow -pv “Every 10 minutes between 0 and 30″ -url <Web Application Url>

  • Javax.naming.NameNotFoundException of DataSource under heavy load

    WL 6.1 sp2, Solaris 2.8, JDK 1.3.1_02
Getting the following error on production under heavy-load server, occurring
infrequently (~1% of request) and irregularly:
    javax.naming.NameNotFoundException::Unable to resolve srPoolDS. Resolved:
    ""; Unresolved:"srPoolDS";
srPoolDS is an oracle pool DataSource, and a BMP ejb is doing the lookup
with a local new InitialContext(). Anyone experienced this before, and know
    of a solution?
    Gene

You definitely bring up good point. Here my concerns:
    1) Even if I don't cache my JNDI lookups, I expect subsequent local lookups
of an already-found object to not fail!
    2) If indeed JNDI lookup in 6.1/7.0 is now more expensive than it was in
5.1, shouldn't the local caching be done by a WL proxy to Context? Why give
    the onus to the developer?

Is is possible for you to cache the data source after one lookup and onlyto refresh
after some system failure since JNDI lookup is not a cheap process?

  • Command Execution fails only under heavy load and JPA cache store.

    Using...
    Coherence: 3.5.2
    Commad Pattern: 2.5.0
I have a servlet that simply creates a simple POJO puts in the cache and then fires off a command that does additional formatting to the POJO.
With JDBC cachestore I have no problem. It works fine.
With JPA I get the bellow exception under heavy load only. I.e: If I send one-two requests. Everything works fine and my data is present in the database after 30 second write-behind. Once I bump up to 200 users I get the exception.
I figure I'm running out of memory on the cache because of JPA enitites take more resources?

Done look at the original thread logs are below... I'm thinking that the key is no longer in the cache at the point the processor fires?
I can also assure you that there is only to instance of coherence running
1- The actual cache server node
2- The client, set to localstorage = false
I ensure the cache server starts and then I start the client.

  • 865PENeo2 FIS2R: abrupt shutdowns on heavy load

    Hello,
I've build the system detailed below a few days ago and I have the following problem. When the system is under heavy load it suddenly shutdown like if the power cord was disconnected (although it is firmly connected). It has happen several times especially when rendering an MPEG2 file from a DV video using Pinnacle Studio 8, not at the start but some time later (could be even an after an hour of rendering). The computer wont start again pushing the power button on the case, I have to unplug the power cable and replug it, then the computers boots normally (but without pushing the power button the first time).
I wonder if someone can help me understand what is the problem. I first though it could be an overheat but I've measured the temps and on heavy load CPU is at 57C and system at 54C.
Maybe its my PSU: 13A on 12V is maybe not enough to drive 4 HDD + others.
    Any help is appreciated.

13A on the 12V is definitely not enough to power your system PLUS the 4 hard drives. There is a power calculator somewhere in this forum. Use it to calculate what power ratings you need.
Edit: Here's the link to the Power Supply Calculator
Here's what the recommended power supply needs to have according to the calculator BUT you need one with a powerful 12A rail (look at Enermax power supplies):
note: i guessed on some things, like the floppy and fans
    Recommended PSU: 491W (182W on +3.3v & +5v rails) for:
-1 x Motherboard without onboard devices
-3 x Fans (including PSU fans)
    -8 x Memory (128MB DDR)
    -1 x Graphic Card
    -1 x with powerful 3D Accelerator
    -1 x PCI Sound
    -1 x PCI Network Card
    -4 x HDD
    -1 x CD-RW
    -1 x DVD
    -1 x Floppy
    -1 x Keyboard
    -1 x Mouse
    -CPU: Intel P4 (2.6D GHz 0.13 µm µPGA478 @ 1.525 V with HTT)
In the meantime, I recommend unplugging all of those extra hard drives before your Power supply fails (i don't know if it could happen, but i would just to be sure).

  • 4620L WAN dies under heavy load

Ahh, the price you pay for being an early adopter of this stuff...
My 4620L WAN stops passing data if it is in a good 4G area with high speeds.  Simply run a speed test and it will either die right when the tests starts, right after a test, or after just a few tests.  A reboot brings it back to life.  Surfing and general web usage that doesn't involve a steady high data stream seems to work fine as well...
The WiFi (LAN) side remains active, and nothing is logged in the system logs.  I have tried changing just about every setting there is, resetting to defaults, etc...
Is there a beta firmware that might address this issue?
I have a 4510 that I have with me and it does fine...
-Speedtest example that killed it:  http://stage.results.speedtest.comcast.net/result/139705142.png
    Firmware revisions:
    Router FW 2.01
    AP FW 12.0-2.1.1.9
    Modem FW 3.20.03
    Hopefully this gets addressed soon...

I wouldnt consider a speedtest website to be a "heavy load".  You can move much more data and stress test the MiFi by streaming a variety of content.  My benchmarking tests require simultaneously streaming music from I <3 radio,  HD videos from YouTube or Netflix and a live game feed from pwned.tv.  I wouldnt suggest running my stress test unless you were at the beginning of your billing cycle to avoid any overages.  You can run through 5GB of data in a few days if your not carefull.
Since the problem appears to be re-createable I would suggest bringing the device into a VZW store.  Show the sales rep the problem and let them swap the device for you under the warranty.  It might end up being a lengthy visit as they contact thier own tech support resources, but eventually they will come to the decision to start swapping hardware for you.
We do not see many problems with the 4620L so I am under the impression that there are no major issues that require a firmware update so far.  That was not the case when the 4510 was launched.  Your link mentions the Charter Speedtest website, have you tried the main http://speedtest.net site yet and compared?  Which other speedtest websites are giving you this problem?  It would be helpful to know incase anyone else has this problem.

  • Note: Due to heavy load, the latest workflow operation has been queued. It will attempt to resume at a later time

    Dear all,
sorry for opening another thread on this.
I think I have a performance issue with workflows attached to document sets in SharePoint. And I say “I think” because people keep telling me that this is the way it just is.
The user creates a new document set, which triggers a workflow in which the user has to confirm/review/approve a series of tasks. The time it takes from clicking the OK button on those task form to the workflow status moving to the next step is about 4 seconds.
And visiting that status page within those 4 seconds brings up the infamous “Note: Due to heavy load, the latest workflow operation has been queued. It will attempt to resume at a later time.” message.
Hitting Refresh in the browser after those 4 seconds will make the new workflow status appear and the red text go away.
Is that normal? Is that the performance that everyone else is seeing as well?
I struggle to see why simply moving a workflow from one task to another should take that on a machine that isn’t doing anything else at the time.
    (1)
I have a standalone (non-clustered) SharePoint box, 4 CPUs, 8 GB of memory, more than half of that available, acting as application server and wfe; only the database is on different box.
    (2)
The CPU only goes up to 18 or 19%, so CPU does not seem to be the bottleneck. Half the RAM is also still free.
    (3)
The workflow is designed with Nintex, and has about 9 flexi and review tasks – the last 2 of them in a loop iterating over typically 3 or 4 items.
    (4)
Looking at the logs it looks like the processing in Nintex only takes about 1 second – I don’t know where the other 3 seconds are going.
    (5)
There is nothing obvious in the logs.
    (6)
We’ve looked at all the “theoretical” improvements around throttling and batch sizes etc. – none of them appeared make any difference. And the workflow is so small that it looks like my tasks gets executed straight away. The problem appears
to be that the execution takes too long(?) and therefore has not finished by the time the page get redrawn.
    (7)
I am running perfmon and I can e.g. see one(!) workflow being loaded into memory – as expected as I am the only user.
    (8)
I am seeing a total of 3(?) SQL queries being executed(?). I get the Bytes Sent/sec spiking at 25K, and Bytes received at 18K. But is this good or bad or a bottleneck?
Where do I take it from here?
I have been told that “[…] most customers have no issue with this as they are used to the way SP operates and it can be slow at times.” Is it really that bad?
If it is worth watching more performance counters then I’d need to know what to compare them to.
Is there something else I am missing?
    Thanks
    Martin

    Hi,
Before considering an additional hardware try to change following configurations for workflow:
    Increase Throttle Size
    Increase Batch Size
    Time Out
    Workflow Timer Interval
    AutoCleanUpDays
    Increase Throttle Size
The Workflow throttle setting controls how many Workflows can be processing at any one time on the entire server farm. By increasing the throttle it will allow the number of Workflows execution or can be initiated at a time.
Use below PowerShell command to get the current Throttle Size:
    Get-SPFarmConfig | Select WorkflowPostponeThreshold
Use below PowerShell command to set new Throttle Size:
    Set-SPFarmConfig -WorkflowPostponeThreshold 100
    Increase Batch Size
This is the size that determines number of events processed for a single Workflow instance. Default value is 100, but it can be range from 1 to any number.
Use below PowerShell command to get the current Batch Size:
    Get-SPFarmConfig | Select WorkflowBatchSize
Use below PowerShell command to set new Batch Size:
    Set-SPFarmConfig -WorkflowBatchSize 200
    Time Out
This decides the time out of the Workflow event.
