Resolving arabic domain name in Solaris DNS server

Hi..
I just quickly want to know how can i define arabic font domain name to get resolve in my DNS server?
I tried to put entry with arabic name but editor making it abnormal, i recently get arabic locale installed on server through north Africa region. Locale is now showing me "AR" ..
Thank you

Sorry my bad.... slight mistake in my question...Here is my corercted query--
After successfully connecting to the internet, when I do NSLOOKUP on the DC, the DNS doesnt resolve my internal domain/site but instead resolves external sites on the internet.
My computer FQDN is nri.wwe.com
Domain dns name is wwe.com
The above should get resolve internally but it searches on the internet.
This is how it should work
& it works perfect when I disable the other NAT network adapter (i.e. disable internet connectivity on my virtual DC)
C:\>nslookup nri.wwe.com
Server:  nri.wwe.com
Address:  192.168.1.11
Name:    nri.wwe.com
Address:  192.168.1.11
But when I again enable internet connectivity, this it what happens.
C:\nslookup www.wwe.com
DNS request timed out.
    timeout was 2 seconds.
Server:  UnKnown
Address:  192.168.12.2
DNS request timed out.
    timeout was 2 seconds.
Non-authoritative answer:
DNS request timed out.
    timeout was 2 seconds.
Name:    www.wwe.com.nsatc.net
Address:  64.152.0.124
Aliases:  www.wwe.com
And when I again nslookup, this is what I get,
C:\>nslookup www.wwe.com
DNS request timed out.
    timeout was 2 seconds.
Server:  UnKnown
Address:  192.168.12.2
DNS request timed out.
    timeout was 2 seconds.
DNS request timed out.
    timeout was 2 seconds.
DNS request timed out.
    timeout was 2 seconds.
*** Request to UnKnown timed-out
Now this 192.168.12.2 is VM assigned DNS via VM Natting with its own DHCP. If we do it manually, none of the virtual machines can connect to the internet. So I cannot fiddle with it anymore as I have already that as well.

    Hi,
    Is there any way to get the local domain name (on Windows it would be NT domain name and on Unix based platform it is DNS server's domain name) and local DNS server address ?

    import java.net.*;

  • Osx lion dns server, forward certain domain searches to other dns server

    Hi!
    i'm configuring the DNS service in OSX 10.7.1. I want to forward all queries to certain domain (f.e. *.special_domain.com) to certain dns server (f.e. 192.168.0.1 & 2)
    i remember in previous OSX Server versions that you can do that in an easy way:
    there were a /etc/resolver directory where you can place a text file in order to forward certain domain queries to certain dns server, like this:
    filename: /etc/resolver/special_domain.com
    content of this file:
    nameserver 192.168.0.1
    nameserver 192.168.0.2
    now in lion there is no such directory... someone knows how to do that??
    thanks for reading and regards!
    D

    i've just read about the "scutil" tool
    From the reply of the command "scutil --dns" i understand that is possible and also supported (i guess)
    Now i have to discover what files that tool reads, and which is the proper way to modify that
    I'll keep investigating tomorrot, now i'm saved by the bell!!

  • How to change the root domain name in window 2012 server

    Got a window 2012 server build up. My root domain name looks something like corp.marketing   Well I seems to have missed to add the last .com or .local.  How do I add the .com to my existing root domain name please. The server is new, will
    go online in few days time. Thanks for all the help.

    I have a similar question and not sure if this is the right place. I had set a server with corp.brighterworld.com but the install wizard anywhere access had me believe that microsoft's strongly preferred domain name prefix was remote.brighterworld.com so
    I contacted GoDaddy and had it reissued as remote. but when I went to reconfigure for the new name. I had already set the server for being a CA, and in that process it issued like 4 or 5 certificates. So I had tried to rebuild the machine from scratch, but
    the it didn't wipe everything, but rather saved previous state which left the old certificate stuff to be dealt with. Any hints or help out here for us having to learn this stuff the hard way?

  • Redirect all DNS requests for a certain domain to a specific DNS Server

    Hello,
    I have setup a home lab to do some Microsoft training on. My lab domain name is "demo.lab". What I want to do is configure my cisco router to forward any dns requests to demo.lab to my Active Directory Server.
    For example
    If I ping mail.demo.lab, I want that reqest to be forwarded to my lab domain controller (dc01.demo.lab).
    I have configured a SOA record on the Cisco router like so, but it still does not foward the reqest on (10.10.10.10 is the IP address of dc01.demo.lab).
    ip dns primary demo.lab soa 10.10.10.10 postmaster.demo.lab
    Any clues as to what i'm missing?
    Thanks
    Peter

    Hi Karsten,
    Yep my computer had the router as its primary DNS Server. The config you supplied worked! Thanks very much :)
    Hi Cisco Freak,
    Yep my AD server was also a DNS server. Yes that was one option, but I just didn't want to keep changing my DNS as my laptop goes to/from work with me. The config that Karsten supplied worked though.
    Hi Terry,
    Thanks for the link. I believe I had configured it correctly as per that docuemnt, but it didn't work for some reason. Still go reference material though.
    The other option would have been to configure the router to use my AD server as its primary name server host like so;
    ip name-server 10.10.10.10
    ip name-server 8.8.8.8
    The only problem would be that if/when my DC is offline, there would be a small delay when doing DNS requests, and since my internet is shared with my house mate, I didn't want to disrupt her too much.
    Thanks again for your help!
    Cheers

  • Serving MULTIPLE Domain Names on 1 Web Server

    How can I host DIFFERENT domain names on the same OSX Tiger Server? I've looked everywhere, but I can't seem to figure it out. My Web server is currently hosting one domain name just fine.
    DNS INFO:
    The new Domain Names are already purchased & registered, and my ISP is taking care of DNS, pointing all of the domain names to my Tiger web server.
    IN SERVER ADMIN >> WEB Services > Settings Button > Sites Tab, I've configured the Domain Names as follows:
    Domain Name = domainnamehere.com
    Port = 80
    IP Address = Any
    Web Folder =
    /Library/WebServer/Documents/domainnamefolder1/HTML here
    /Library/WebServer/Documents/domainnamefolder2/HTML here
    /Library/WebServer/Documents/domainnamefolder3/HTML here
    Default index files = index.html
    The Enable box is checked
    PROBLEM:
    When I go to any of the new domain names they all open up the MAIN website NOT their own individual web page.
    QUESTION:
    What am I doing wrong? What do I need to do to host DIFFERENT Domain Names PUBLICLY on the same OSX Tiger Server? I've seen information on setting up "Virtual Hosts" for local web development, but I can't seem to figure out how to host DIFFERENT Domain Names PUBLICLY on the same OSX Tiger Server.
    Thanks for your help!
    Computerpros

    The description of you setup sounds wrong.
    You should have multiple Sites configured, one per hostname you're trying to run, like:
    Domain1:
    Domain Name = domain1.com
    Port = 80
    IP Address = Any
    Web Folder = /Library/WebServer/Documents/domainnamefolder1
    Domain1:
    Domain Name = domain2.com
    Port = 80
    IP Address = Any
    Web Folder = /Library/WebServer/Documents/domainnamefolder2
    Domain1:
    Domain Name = domain3.com
    Port = 80
    IP Address = Any
    Web Folder = /Library/WebServer/Documents/domainnamefolder3

  • Post .mac site to another domain name still on mac server?

    I have both a domain name that is .mac and a .biz url. I do not have another server to upload to (I just own the domain name), and would like to use my .mac website designed using iweb '06 v.1.1.2 and load it on the mac server but have the .biz url be the url the public will use... this is for a business website. How do I do this?
    The directions in all the help files assume the use of another server holding the domain name... maybe this is a requirement, but seems to be a waste to have a .mac account but have to have such a convoluted url for the public.
    Is this possible?

    Hi there,
    little correction: they don't assume having another server. They assume having it registered from a domain registrar. Which is quite different. You have to tell the domain registrar to point the domain to .mac.
    This page may help... At least I hope it does...

  • DNS not querying/ recognizing/ resolving internal domain name using nslookup

    I've setup a virtual lab for practice purpose on VMware 8 workstation.
    I have already asked this question in vm community but still got no answers hence asking it here.
    In my vmware workstation 8, for practice lab purpose my setup is as follows:-
    1] Win 2k8R2 Enetrprise edi.vm as my DC with DNS & DHCP configured and working perfect. DNS is getting resolved internally via NSLOOKUP. Server has manual ip assigned...192.168.1.xx series.
    2] Win xp vm as my Client and getting dhcp lease address from the above DC and also the DNS is getting resolved internally via NSLOOKUP.
    Now that these two vms are communicating perfectly with each other, I thought about connecting them to my physical internet.
    So, in the Virtual network editor, I added a Host-only type network named
    VMnet 04 with Use local dhcp service checkbook Disabled and on each of these vms, in network adapter settings, selected specific virtual network and pointed it to
    VMnet 04 in both vms.
    Now, in both the vms, an additional network connection got added and hence was successfully able to browse internet from both vms.
    Now the REAL problem:--
    After the above configuration, when I do NSLOOKUP on the DC, the DNS doesnt resolves external sites on the internet.
    I havent specified any kind of conditional forwarding etc.., its a simple DNS setup.
    I want it to resolve to the internal domain and also be connected to the internet .
    What setting do I need to do in DNS or in VM network?
    I tried almost all types of settings in vm virtual network editor by specifying dns manually and so on but none worked.

    Sorry my bad.... slight mistake in my question...Here is my corercted query--

    Now this 192.168.12.2 is VM assigned DNS via VM Natting with its own DHCP. If we do it manually, none of the virtual machines can connect to the internet. So I cannot fiddle with it anymore as I have already that as well.

    Note: Include DNS server name and ip number in records list.
    After creation of DNS database files run /usr/sbin/in.named to verify named server is ready for queries. If named daemon finds any errors in DNS database files you can find in /var/adm/messages file. Correct the errors in respective files and run daemon after killing old daemon by using kill command. By using nslookup command verify whether DNS server is responding or not.
    Note: if you want DNS server to act as a client create /etc/resolv.conf and make the entries about domain name and IP number.
    Creating DNS client
    1)     Go to /etc directory and create resolv.conf file.
    2)     Go to /etc/nsswitch.conf file and keep dns in front of hosts.
    i)     example of resolv.conf file
    domain          universe.com
    nameserver     200.200.0.10
    Note: resolv.conf file contains the information about domain name and IP number in which clients are located. Use nslookup command to DNS server responding properly or not.

  • How to resolve a host name from IP using JNDI/DNS service provider

    Hi
    I got two questions on JNDI/DNS service provider:
    1) How to resolve a host name when i got an IP
    I understand How I do it inverse.
    Hashtable env = new Hashtable();
    env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "com.sun.jndi.dns.DnsContextFactory");
    env.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "dns://"+server+"/"+domain);
    DirContext ictx = new InitialDirContext(env);
    Attributes attrs1 = ictx.getAttributes(host, new String[] {"A"});
    2) This example above works when I specify the domain in the provider url.
    If I am not specifing a domain but only the dns server I got an NameNotFoundException.
    What should I do if I don't got the domain?
    get the availible domains and loop on them?

    Hi,
    if your DNS server supports that, you can do a reverse DNS lookup. This works as follows:
    String server = "your.dns.server";
    String domain = "in-addr.arpa";
    String ip = "4.3.2.1";
    Hashtable env = new Hashtable();
    env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "com.sun.jndi.dns.DnsContextFactory");
    env.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "dns://" + server + "/" + domain);
    DirContext ictx = new InitialDirContext(env);
    Attributes attrs1 = ictx.getAttributes(ip, new String[] {"PTR"});1: Use the pseudo-domain in-addr.arpa
    2: Use the reverse IP address for lookup, i.e. if your host has 1.2.3.4, use 4.3.2.1!!
    3: Request the PTR attribute

  • Domain name from the configuerd mail server

    HI,
    How to get the domain name from the mail server that i configure using java Mail..
    Properties props = new Properties();
    props.put("mail.smtp.host", mailServer);
    mailServer has my mailServer name like email.something.com
    in my application, from address is the one user sets.. if they forgot to set it and tries to send a mail then i need to send that mail with a default address like [email protected] where something.com must be the domain name.. so i juz want to know how to get the domain name.?
    hope it is clear. can any of u help me out?

    There's no well-defined way to do this. The
    simplest approach is to offer this as a configuration
    option.
    A more complicated approach would be to use
    the host name of the mail server and look up
    that name in DNS and try to find the DNS record
    that tells which mail server to use for that host
    name, perhaps stripping off elements of the name
    until you find something. (And no, I can't explain
    to you exactly how to do that.)

    If I have two domains (a.com and b.com) with sub domains(a1.com and b1.com) with two way trust and I want them to point to a Windows DNS server. How should the Forward lookup zones and Reverse lookup zones be configured? In forward lookup

    Do the sub domains need to be added? What about pointers? Do I add the IP address of a.com and b.com in reverse lookup zones.
    A side question: When you create a Domain with dns AD intergrated the forward and reserve lookup are automatically created. You don't need to add the zone of the domain you just created but have to add zones of other domains.

    Make each domain controller as a DNS server too. Reverse lookup zones & forwarders are not replicated automatically. You can create AD-Integrated reverse lookup zone & set the replication scope.
    You can create AD-Integrated DNS zones in the parent/root domain, set the replication scope to the forest-wide & delegate the zones for handling request locally. Once you create AD-Integrated DNS zone & set the replication scope forest wide, all
    the zones will appear automatically in each domain's DNS server.

    I am trying to configure my exchange account for my company and it requires to put domain name as well with server name and userid. I dont see any place in configuration to put domain name, please let me know if some one tried this.

    Initiately i have the same problem. I figured out, first i have to uncheck "use Autodiscover Service". Enter your company server into external server and change the user name to your nt username. Check on use autodiscover service and let it run. I managed to retrived all my email without enter domain.
    You can go to the mail configuration by right click and select edit.

    Though I can reach the server with help of ssh. I think my DNS works properly because I can resolve the ip address of  cumpxvoice .uclab.com and cumpxweb. uclab.com with help of dig command.
    Have you any idea?
    A lot of thanks in advance!!
    Sincerely yours Sergey Bondarenko

    This is the MeetingPlace Express network configuration utility.
    Up to the point where you save changes, it is safe to hit ^C to get
    out at any time, in which case nothing will have changed.
