Resolving differences in IM and WM and HU

Dear all,
I would like to identify the inventory differences between the above and resolve these differences.
Do you have any solutions, ideas or suggestions to make..
Thanks

Hi ,
LI20 IS USED TO CLEAR DIFFERENCES IN WM AND LI21 IS TO CLEAR DIFFERENCES IN IM.
IN WM YOU POST YOUR DIFFERENCES IN STORAGE TYPE 999 AND IN IM ITS A LOSS OR A GAIN.
Thanks

  • 1KEK and 1KEI Difference between FI and PCA KE5U

    Hello All,
    We have a difference between our FI and PCA and that is shown when we run the Transaction KE5U.
    we have a calendar year with 4 special periods as our fiscal year and 12 2010 was the last normal period
    The business made some postings in period 13 during their year end close.
    These postings in periof 13 2010 are not shown in PCA.
    I have tried the following
    Ran 1KEK and 1KEI for period 13 => System response: You cannot run these transactions for special periods
    Ran 1KEK and 1KEI for Period 12 => The difference still exist.
    I dont think we can open period 12 2010 again as the fiscal year 2010 is closed.
    Is there a different way to run these transactions and reconcile the balance?
    Please advice
    Subhani

    We figured it out.
    we had to perform the following steps in sequence to resolve the issue
    1KEK and 1KEH should be run periodically, every time we run the previous month we have to run it for all the proceesing months
    1. Ran 1KEH and 1KEK for Dec 2010 => this will transfer all the postings made in the special periods of 2010
    2. PCA balance carry forward 2KES
    3. 1KEH and 1KEK for Jan 2011 and Feb 2011 in sequence.
    Thanks

  • What is the difference  between ws_upload and gui_upload

    what is the difference  between ws_upload and gui_upload
    what is the difference  between ws_download and gui_down load
    pls tell  briefly

    Hi Kuamr,
    UPLOAD and DOWNLOAD, the function modules used until now are not part of the standard set of ABAP commands. They are used to display the file interface on the presentation server. UPLOAD and DOWNLOAD are not compatible with USs and have been replaced by GUI_UPLOAD and GUI_DOWNLOAD.
    The new function modules, GUI_UPLOAD and GUI_DOWNLOAD, have an interface that also allows you to write Unicode format to the local hard drive. For a description of these interfaces, refer to the documentation for each function module, available under SAP Easy Access " Development " Function Builder " Goto " Documentation.
    Instead of using the function modules, you can use the static methods GUI_UPLOAD and GUI_DOWNLOAD of the global class CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES.

  • Difference Between BAPI And RFC in ABAP

    Hi,
    i want to know difference between BAPI and RFC in SAP,
    can we call SAP GUI screen from NON SAP System Using BAPI.
    Reg,
    Hariharan

    Hi Ravishankar,
    The difference is not importat while you understand the concept.
    I think, RFC is the protocol for calling functions from external systems in R/3.
    I understand like BAPI a series of complet functions that SAP offers you for use and model a business use.
    But if I need program a function that can be called for external system i would call it RFC_NAME, because is a unique function that makes a single task.
    In other words, the difference i think is about work idea more than another thing.
    RFC
    A remote function call is a call to a function module running in a system different from the caller's. The remote function can also be called from within the same system (as a remote call).
    RFC consists of two interfaces : A calling interface for ABAP Programs and a calling interface for Non-SAP programs.
    The RFC Interface takes care of :-
    - Converting all parameter data to the representation needed in the remote system
    Calling the communication routines needed to talk to the remote system.
    Handling communications errors, and notifying the caller, if desired ( using EXCEPTIONS paramater of the CALL FUNCTION).
    BAPI
    BAPIs are standardized programming interfaces (methods) enabling external applications to access business processes and data in the R/3 System.
    BAPIs provide stable and standardized methods to achieve seamless integration between the R/3 System and external applications, legacy systems and add-ons.
    BAPIs are defined in the BOR(Business object repository) as methods of SAP business object types that carry out specific business functions.
    BAPIs are implemented as RFC-enabled function modules and are created in the Function Builder of the ABAP Workbench.
    The most critical difference btwn BAPI and FM is that BAPI can be wrapped in Business objects whereas RFC cant.
    BAPI are RFC enabled function modules. the difference between RFc and BAPI are business objects. You create business objects and those are then registered in your BOR (Business Object Repository) which can be accessed outside the SAP system by using some other applications (Non-SAP) such as VB or JAVA. in this case u only specify the business object and its method from external system in BAPI there is no direct system call. while RFC are direct system call Some BAPIs provide basic functions and can be used for most SAP business object types. These BAPIs should be implemented the same for all business object types. Standardized BAPIs are easier to use and prevent users having to deal with a number of different BAPIs. Whenever possible, a standardized BAPI must be used in preference to an individual BAPI.
    The following standardized BAPIs are provided:
    Reading instances of SAP business objects
    GetList ( ) With the BAPI GetList you can select a range of object key values, for example, company codes and material numbers.
    The BAPI GetList() is a class method.
    GetDetail() With the BAPI GetDetail() the details of an instance of a business object type are retrieved and returned to the calling program. The instance is identified via its key. The BAPI GetDetail() is an instance method. BAPIs that can create, change or delete instances of a business object type
    The following BAPIs of the same object type have to be programmed so that they can be called several times within one transaction. For example, if, after sales order 1 has been created, a second sales order 2 is created in the same transaction, the second BAPI call must not affect the consistency of the sales order 2. After completing the transaction with a COMMIT WORK, both the orders are saved consistently in the database.
    Create( ) and CreateFromData! ( )
    The BAPIs Create() and CreateFromData() create an instance of an SAP business object type, for example, a purchase order. These BAPIs are class methods.
    Change( )
    The BAPI Change() changes an existing instance of an SAP business object type, for example, a purchase order. The BAPI Change () is an instance method.
    Delete( ) and Undelete( ) The BAPI Delete() deletes an instance of an SAP business object type from the database or sets a deletion flag.
    The BAPI Undelete() removes a deletion flag. These BAPIs are instance methods.
    Cancel ( ) Unlike the BAPI Delete(), the BAPI Cancel() cancels an instance of a business object type. The instance to be cancelled remains in the database and an additional instance is created and this is the one that is actually canceled. The Cancel() BAPI is an instance method.
    Add<subobject> ( ) and Remove<subobject> ( ) The BAPI Add<subobject> adds a subobject to an existing object inst! ance and the BAPI and Remove<subobject> removes a subobject from an object instance. These BAPIs are instance methods.

  • Difference between RSRD_BROADCAST_STARTER and RSRD_BROADCAST_BATCH

    Hi All,
    Currently we use RSRD_BROADCAST_STARTER program to trigger daily mail broadcasting but will happen an error: Parallel processing not possible: no processing of xx package(s). in order to resolve this issue we search a link where it is mentioned to use the other program for RSRD_BROADCAST_BATCH and use delay steps. http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BI/Common+Error+Messages+from+the+Broadcast+Log. We have no idea about the difference between RSRD_BROADCAST_STARTER and RSRD_BROADCAST_BATCH, could any experts explain about this. This is a urgent case for us, thanks in advance!

    Your error has been explained below in one of the WIKI.
    ERROR: 'Parallel processing not possible: no processing of X package(s)'
    To overcome Parallel Processing errors create a Process Chain which executes settings using report RSRD_BROADCAST_BATCH.
    Create the variants for report RSRD_BROADCAST_BATCH. Start transaction SE38 and execute the report. Select the setting(s) and save them as a variant.
    Include a process step in a process chain which executes an ABAP program. In the process step, choose the report RSRD_BROADCAST_BATCH and the variant (from step 1) in the process chain step.
    Simulate a sequential execution by adding an additional wait-step in between process steps calling report RSRD_BROADCAST_BATCH, e.g. by adding a process chain step which calls a simple Z-report that waits for a given timeframe using the ABAP statement WAIT UP TO XX SECONDS.

  • Difference between urn and url

    what's the difference between urn and url?

    <b>What is an URL</b>
    An Uniform Resource Locator (URL) is the term used to identify an Internet resource, and can be specified in a single line of text.
    <b>What is an URN</b>
    An Uniform Resource Name (URN) is the term used to identify an Internet resource, without the use of a scheme, and can be specified in a single line of text.
    <b>What is an URI</b>
    An Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) is used by a browser to identify a single document, and it too can be specified in a single line of text
    <b>The general form of an URL has four parts</b>
    A scheme followed by a colon.
    Invokes a TCP/IP-based application level protocol
    Schemes are: http, https, ftp, news, mailto, file, telnet.
    <b>A server name.</b>
    A // followed by the host name or IP address of the server
    Not needed if the server is the default
    news server
    mail server
    <b>An optional port number. Standard or default port numbers are:</b>
    ftp *
    ssh 22
    telnet 23
    smtp 25
    gopher 70
    http 80
    nntp 119
    SSL 443
    <b>A path.</b>
    Consisting of folders and/or files.
    May include a file extension which identifies the type of document.
    May also include a QUERY_STRING with arguments.
    Ftp uses port 20 for data and port 21 for flow control.
    <b>DIFFERENCE BETWEEN URN & URI</b>
    The idea is that a URL is a mechanical link to a resource's location, where it can be downloaded. For this reason, a URL contains a hostname and a local part, all of which can be resolved anywhere on the Internet.
    What a URN tries to do is different. It tries to give a description of a resource without actually pointing at it. For example:
    urn:isbn:90-365-17273
    <b>URI:</b> is a string that identifies any resource. Indentifying the resource does not necessarily mean we can retrieve it. URI is a superset of URL and URN.
    files/reports/marketing/report.html
    <b>URL:</b> URI that specify a common Internet protocol such as HTTP or FTP are also called URLs. URL is an informal term an is not used in technical specifications.
    http://www.foo.com/files/reports/marketing/report.html
    <b>URN:</b> A URN is an identifier the uniquely indentifies a resource but does not specify how to access that resource.

  • Difference between Null and null?

    What is the difference between null and NULL?
    When is each used?
    Thanks,

    veryConfused wrote:
    There is a null in java, but no NULL. null means no value. However, when assigning value, the following is different:Although the empty String has no special role. Null means, the referential type is not assigned (doesn't refer) to a specific object. The empty String is just another object though, so seeing it or pointing it out as something special when it actually isn't at all (no more special than new Integer(0) or new Object[0]) just adds to the confusion.

  • Difference in Null and Empty String

    Hi,
    I have been wondering about the difference between Null and Empty String in Java. So I wrote a small program like this:
    public class CompareEmptyAndNullString {
         public static void main(String args[]) {
              String sNull = null;
              String sEmpty = "";
              try {
                   if (sNull.equalsIgnoreCase(sEmpty)) {
                        System.out.println("Null and Empty Strings are Equal");
                   } else {
                        System.out.println("Null and Empty Strings are Equal");
              } catch (Exception e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
    This program throws Exception: java.lang.NullPointerException
         at practice.programs.CompareEmptyAndNullString.main(CompareEmptyAndNullString.java:10)
    Now if I change the IF Clause to if (sEmpty.equalsIgnoreCase(sNull)) then the Program outputs this: Null and Empty Strings are Equal
    Can anyone explain why this would happen ?
    Thanks in Advance !!

    Saish,
    Whether you do any of the following code, the JUnit Test always passes: I mean he NOT Sign doesnt make a difference ...
    assert (! "".equals(null));
    assert ("".equals(null));
    You probably have assertions turned off. Note the the assert keyword has nothing to do with JUnit tests.
    I think that older versions of JUnit, before assert was a language keyword (which started in 1.4 or 1.5), had a method called assert. Thus, if you have old-style JUnit tests, they might still compile, but the behavior is completely different from what it was in JUnit, and has nothing to do with JUnit at all.
    If you turn assertions on (-ea flag in the JVM command line, I think), the second one will throw AssertionError.

  • Difference between GUI_UPLOAD and WS_UPLOAD

    Hi,
    Please make me clear about the difference between GUI_UPLOAD and WS_UPLOAD. In which cases we need to use these modules...??
    Thanks,
    Satish

    I would suggest to always use the GUI_UPLOAD.  I say this because this is the function module which is used in the GUI_UPLOAD method of the class CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES.   Really, you should probably use the class/method instead of the function module.
      data: filename type string.
      filename = p_file.
      call method cl_gui_frontend_services=>gui_upload
             exporting

  • Difference between char and varchar, also the difference between varchar2

    Hi,
    Can anyone explain me the difference between char and varchar, and also the difference between varchar and varchar2...

    Varchar2 is variable width character data type, so if you define column with width 20 and insert only one character to tis column only, one character will be stored in database. Char is not variable width so when you define column with width 20 and insert one character to this column it will be right padded with 19 spaces to desired length, so you will store 20 characters in the dattabase (follow the example 1). Varchar data type from Oracle 9i is automaticlly promoted to varchar2 (follow example 2)
    Example 1:
    SQL> create table tchar(text1 char(10), text2 varchar2(10))
    2 /
    Table created.
    SQL> insert into tchar values('krystian','krystian')
    2 /
    1 row created.
    SQL> select text1, length(text1), text2, length(text2)
    2 from tchar
    3 /
    TEXT1 LENGTH(TEXT1) TEXT2 LENGTH(TEXT2)
    krystian 10 krystian 8
    Example 2:
    create table tvarchar(text varchar(10))
    SQL> select table_name,column_name,data_type
    2 from user_tab_columns
    3 where table_name = 'TVARCHAR'
    4 /
    TABLE_NAME COLUMN_NAME DATA_TYPE
    TVARCHAR TEXT VARCHAR2

    They are both used for 10Gig interfaces.  The difference is the connector type.
    SFP+ is LC and X2 is SC.
    You can not put an SFP+ into an X2 slot or X2 optic into a SFP+.

  • Difference between ok_code and sy-ucomm

    Hi,
    Can any one tell me the difference between ok_code and sy-ucomm

    Hi,
    Actually OK_CODE and SY-Ucomm are the same. But experts suggest use of OK code for following reason:
    In each PAI event that a user triggers by choosing either a pushbutton on the screen or an element in a GUI status, the corresponding function code is placed into the system field SYST-UCOMM or SY-UCOMM and placed in the OK_CODE field (as long as the function code is not empty). Empty function codes are placed in neither the SY-UCOMM field nor the OK_CODE field.
    In your ABAP programs, you should work with the OK_CODE field instead of SY-UCOMM. There are two reasons for this: Firstly, the ABAP program has full control over fields declared within it, and secondly, you should never change the value of an ABAP system field. However, you should also always initialize the OK_CODE field in an ABAP program for the following reason:
    In the same way that the OK_CODE field in the ABAP program and the system field SY-UCOMM receive the contents of the corresponding screen fields in the PAI event, their contents are also assigned to the OK_CODE screen field and system field SYST-UCOMM in the PBO event. Therefore, you must clear the OK_CODE field in the ABAP program to ensure that the function code of a screen is not already filled in the PBO event with an unwanted value. This is particularly important when the next PAI event can be triggered with an empty function code (for example, using ENTER). Empty function codes do not affect SY-UCOMM or the OK_CODE field, and consequently, the old field contents are transported.

    Both are used for data hiding then what is the exact difference ?This is the picture I have:
    When you encapsulate something you get an inside and an outside. The outside is the abstraction. It describes how the encapsulated entity behaves viewed from the outside. This is also called the type. Hidden inside is the implementation. It holds detail information about how the type's behaviour is accomplished.
    It's a very simplified picture but I think it's quite accurate and it works for me.
