Resorting to QTInstaller.exe file for PC use

It's looking like I'll have to resort to asking PC end-users to install Quicktime Player in order to view a .mov file created on my mac. I've downloaded the QuickTimeInstaller.exe file for Windows. It obviously doesn't open on my mac, but if I burn both the .mov file and the .exe file onto the CD/DVD for my end-users, is it safe to assume that they'll be able to install Quicktime pretty easily?
Again, I hate to have to do it this way, but I'm not getting anywhere yet with the other avenues I've explored.
*I'D REALLY LIKE TO MAKE A SELF-RUNNING FILE THAT WOULD PLAY ON ANY PC OR MAC*...., but I'm losing hope for that....

  • How to create a .exe file for a java application

Hi, I want to create a .exe file for a java application I am developing so that I can schedule it to run at a particular time using Windows Scheduler on WinNT. Is there any way to accomplish this? Or is there any other way in which a Java application can be scheduled to run at a particular time on Windows everyday?

Create a .bat file and run that. Just have, in the .bat file:
java YourClassName Alternatively, you can use javaw YourClassName (without *.bat, just put it into Windows Scheduler like suggested above).
using javaw won't pop up any window...

  • How to create the exe files for java application

How to create the exe file for java application?
got any software to do that?
    Thanks

In terms of converting java applications into exe files, there are 3 schools of thought:
    1) Instead of converting it to an exe, convert it to a jar file. Jar files are more portable than exe files because they can be double-clicked on any operating system. The caveat is that a Java interpreter must be installed on the target computer for the double-clicking to work.
    http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/Books/javaprogramming/JAR/
    2) Create an exe launcher that, when double-clicked, attempts to find a Java interpreter on the local computer and launches the Java application. The exe file is still double-clickable but whether your java application runs depends on whether a Java interpretor is installed on the target computer.

    http://thor.prohosting.com/~dfolly/java/index.html
    3) Create an exe launcher that bundles a Java interpretor. Same as above but when the exe file is double-clicked, it searches for a Java interpreter and if one is not found, it installs one on the target computer. The caveat is that the exe file would have an overhead of 10 MB in size for the interpreter.
    http://www.excelsior-usa.com/jet.html (evaluation version available)
    4) Convert the Java application into a native exe file. The caveat is that if you use Swing for your GUI, it won't be converted. Also this option is still somewhat experimental.
Can't think of any free options right now.

  • How to create an exe file for single class

    Hi all,
l have one some program with only one class and want to create one exe file for
    easily execute for the user.
I've use exe4j and another tool to do but all failure, the error message always shown me that main class not found.
    Any idea??
    Thanks a lot!

I suspect your class has somewhat invalid thing.
    Have you verified:
    - The class you wish to be executed contains public static void main(String args[])- The package declaration on your executable-wannabe class is valid
    - In case you need to import another class, make sure the import statement(s) is valid
No matter what kinda program you use to create .exe from java class, the above things must be valid. AFAIK.

  • Do I need "nilm.exe" file for labview to run properly?

I have some problems with the "nilm.exe". Sometime it create a lot of other file in Windows tak manager and it lock completely my computer. Do I need "nilm.exe" file for labview to run properly? Can I remove it from my computer ?
thanks in advance for your reply

NILM.EXE is the NI License Manager for Remote Panels. If not using Remote Panels then you do not need to use NILM.EXE. The following webpage shows how to disable nilm.exe:

  • Creation of a .exe file for a Java program

    hi, myself is venu.
Can anyone help in creating a .exe file for a generated .class file.
    Thanking you in advance.
    bye

    Hello,
There is a tool that you can download called JavaExe. It will make an executable of your java class. The class must have a main method. Just google for it and follow the instructions. I have tried it, it does work well.

As has been mentioned, you need LabVIEW professional or higher. (If you only have base or full, you need to buy the application builder extra).
Building an application is as easy as selecting "tools...built application or shared library", and specify the desired source VIs, built settings and installer settings.
All diagrams and unneeded front panels are removed. The process is thus irreversible and you cannot recreate the original VIs from the application.

  • Can you make an exe file for a slide show using PS Elements?

Although I use ProShow Gold for slide shows, I need information on other programs that can provide an option for an exe format. I am not too technical so I can't tell from my Elements and couldn't find anything here. I will be running a competition in which exe files are needed so they can be played on any computer. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

I hope your competition goes well. I suggest though that you thoroughly scan each submitted file for virus and malware on an isolated machine first. While not suggesting your competitors would deliberately infect their entry but if their own machines were unknowingly infected by (say) a trojan that could potentially infect the executables they create for your competition.
If it was me I'd request files in a standard format (e.g. WMV) that is readable by just about any media playing software such as Windows Media Player.

  • Produce EXE files for Swing programs using Visual J++?

There's a way to make VJ++ to compile Swing programs:
    http://www.stanford.edu/class/cs108/usingvj.html
But the exe file VJ++ produces won't run though... Does anyone know how to make it work? Thanx in advance

TestStand 4.0.1 was released well before Visual Studio 2012 existed so the automatic step into behavior from TestStand that launches visual studio and attaches it as a debugger likely does not work.
But you can just attach to the seqedit.exe process from Visual Studio and set breakpoints in your code and debug teststand just like you would any other process from Visual Studio. Make sure that when you attach with Visual Studio that you make sure you have it set to debug native code.
    Hope this helps,

  • Create .exe file for core java project

how can i create .exe file or wrapper for my core java project

    cotton.m wrote:
To be honest with you this is going to be very difficult at best.
And I'm not sure it's entirely realistic or legal. You'll need to install Tomcat and MySQL and all your stuff...Haven't ever tried doing so, but I think it might be quite possible sollution...
There's a preconfigured version of Tomcat, that you simply unzip on the drive (so there's no nned of running installator).
If OP would use some MySQL server's clone, that needs no installation (some time ago i was looking for thing like thatand found couple of those).
All configuration (installing services etc.) as well as copying JSPs and other stuff to Tomcat dirs can be made with script files (.bat or whatever) or under another java application that will run all the commands...
As cotton.m wrote... if it works, it's going to be hell lot of work...

  • Creating an exe file for java

    Hi all,
any way to create the exe file using JBuilder 3?
if possible how to do that?
how about creating installation file for the application?
    thanks alot

I think you might need a byte code compiler that converts the .class files to .exe
I believe there are some products out there that do this. I don't think there is a java utility that performs this type of operation.

  • "dtutil", how to tell which configuration file for packages using after deployment?

    Hello All,
    Trying to achieve this feature,
Using DOS command to automatic my deployment process--glad I found dtutil. However, it doesnt give you any chance to identify which configuration file to be used by SSIS packages after deployment.
    Deployment Method: file deployment
Configuration sued: XML file and SQL Table. IN XML file, it tells which DB connection for packages to look up the configuration table.
Who can share some thoughts on this?
    Derek

    It is NOT about sequence.
It is about how to point which configuration file to be used by deployed packages as during the "dtutil.exe"
deployment, you dont have chance to identify which physical location confg files to be used.
    Derek
That you do only at the time of execution of packages. By default it uses configuration settings created at design time within the package. If you want to override it, you can use \Configfile switch of dtexec for that. You can also set explicit values for
    properties using /SET switch
