In resource usage profile values on right and left horizontal lines are in hours like 800h is there any way to remove h , or can assign new value of our choice

Go to Resource Usage Profile Options, then go to Graph tab and at the bottom left check calculate average.
Put divide total intervals = 1
and Unit of Measure as you like....m3, kg, No etc.
Note:
In P6v7 only, this option of calculating average is not working (Bug) and you must install P6v7 SP1, Service pack 1, available free from Oracle Support Knowledgebase.

"Calculate Average" option for the Activity Usage Profile doesn't work

I have the same problem as poster 793128 in a comment for a different thread: the "calculate average" profile option doesn't work for units (it works for cost though). I've used this option a lot on previous versions of Primavera but for some reason is not working on our new P6 release 7 (stand alone). As 793128’s post says: nothing happens, nothing changes, the profile keep showing totals, doesn't matter if the "base hours on time period" box is selected or if the divider is input by the user.
The same option (calculate average / divide by) on the resource usage spreadsheet and on the tabular reports do work as expected so doesn't seem to be that I checked the wrong box for some user or administrator preference set up.
Thank you for any help or clue. I posted this as a different thread because my original post was in a resource profile thread for a different issue that was already answered.

After reading your post I tested an older layout of mine that uses a similar setup and it still operates fine. On the "Resource Usage Profile Options" box under the "Graph" tab, I have "Calculate Average" checked and "24" entered in the "Divide interval totals by:" box.
This allows my resource profile to display manhours per day for me.
Some of my background info:
I run in a multi-users platform and not in a stand alone setup.
We have different resources loaded into the schedule with multiple calendars.
I have several "Resource Filter/Group Names" setup for each separate resource on the "Data" tab too.

Usage Profile Access

I have special Usage Profiles UP_1 and UP_2 where choosen diferent SWCV. And I what that User_1 may choose only profile UP_1 and user_2 may choose only UP_2.
That users can develop objects only in SWCV of own usage profile.
But I found that if I give to users role SAP_XI_CONTENT_ORGANIZER_J2EE they can choose ANY usage profile.
How to protect access user_1 objects in SWCV of user_2?

1. Administrator
(Include the roles SAP_XI_ADMINISTRATOR_J2EE and SAP_XI_CONTENT_ORGANIZER_J2EE)
2.Developer
(Exclude the roles SAP_XI_ADMINISTRATOR_J2EE and SAP_XI_CONTENT_ORGANIZER_J2EE and should only have developer rights)

There are multiple users in a project who access the ESR. These users come under the following categories:
1. Administrator (has access to all objects in ESR)
2. Developers (has to be restricted from using some ESR objects)
3. Display Users (has only display authorization for certain ESR objects and not edit permissions)
The users will be restricted also based on Software Components i.e. the users will have access only to the software components of the current project.
For this scenario, custom Usage Profiles are created in ESR for each of the above mentioned categories. Users logging into ESR can select any of these profiles according to their requirement.

MEASUREMENTS IN ACTIVITY USAGE PROFILE

Please see enclosed link 'printscreen', how is it possible to see, in the Activity Usage Profile, the measurements (hours or manpower,etc.) in the chart blocks,
specific per month?
And P6 does not show the actual hours + curve (actual progress till January 2011)

Modify your timescale to Month.
1. Right-click on the graph and select the Activity Usage Profile Options.
2. Click on the Graph Tab
3. Select the checkbox 'Calculate Average'
4. Select the 'hours' per month by typing them in (this won't work in P6 7.0 with no service pack). 173 hours is the default and this will convert the Axis to 'bodies'.
If you want to see exact numbers, double-click in the graph and a popup window will appear.

System resource usage profile

Our Forte OLTP application runs on HP-UX 10.20. A transaction uses
resources through the Forte partition and the Oracle database.
Is there a way to apportion CPU time, Memory, IO bytes, etc to a
single transaction? Ideally we would indicate the start and the end of a
transaction and then collect resource usage statistics. As a Forte
partition is a UNIX process which accumulates the CPU times of all
transactions processed I see no easy way to break down the CPU usage per
transaction. We need to do capacity planning and assigning system
resources to transactions is imperative in order to know when the server
will become saturated. Any ideas?

Version 7 Resource Usage Profile Options

In previous versions of P6 you were able to check a box that gave you a calculated average when showing a resource profile. In V7, although the box is still there, checking and unchecking it makes no difference to the display. Has this feature been disabled or am I just missing a trick?

Unrestricted usage profile option

One of the developers forgot to select this option while logging on to the ESR first time and found that the message mapping objects node was not available to me.
What should be done now so that I can select the unrestricted option again and start doing message mappings in SAP PI.
We tried deleting and recreating the developer ID but this did not work

when you log in ESR you will be prompted a drop down list for all application profiles.

Usage profile for CE

I get the following message after I start the ESR from CE.
You are using the default profile. Business modeling is not possible. Change your business profile to be able to use business modeling.
Is it possible to get another profile to see the Business modeling with the trail version?

Hi,
You have deployed the correct SCA files only. You have to get the three available profiles: Process Integration , Service Defination and unrestricted. I think you might have missed some steps.
Have you done post installtion configuration steps.

make sure that you have done all the given post installation stpes for ESR.

Printing Resource Usage Profile / Resource Usage Spreadsheet

Any way of showing the resource names selected for the RUP or RUS on a printed page?
There's proably "fudge" ways like adding bar labels on the Gantt chart, just wondered if i could actualy show the Current Projects' Resources on the left hand side of the print.

you can display the field "filter_list" between [ ] in a header or footnote section of the printed layout (similar to a title, note or legend).
at least for resources (does not seem to work for roles) the filter list is given by the filter(s) used by the system when displaying the histogram / spreadsheet, in other words by whatever resource(s) you selected for display out of the current projects' assigned resources.

here low users means : these are users that carry out upto 10 dailogue steps an hour or even every 6min
here is it possible to devide low/medium/high users? any dailogue step concept is avialable at portal?

What is the definition of "All Projects" in P6 EPPM for the Team Usage Charts?

In P6 Professional 8.3, there is a User Preference setting which can be used to define "All Projects" for the Resource Usage Profile. The choices are: All Open, All Closed except What-if, All Closed with Leveling Priority over x. In P6 EPPM 8.3, there are My Preferences settings. In these settings, I see several choices which are also in the P6 Professional User Preferences, but I do not see a way to set the definition of "All Projects". Does this mean that EPPM uses the SAME settings as selected in P6 Professional or does it mean that "All Projects" is not configurable in P6 EPPM? If it is not configurable in P6 EPPM, what is the definition of "All Projects" in P6 EPPM?

KDE 4.7: very slow and high disk usage

Since upgrade to KDE 4.7 on my i686 laptop, my system behaves weirdly. I noticed a slow down caused by a very high disk usage: when the HDD spins the cpu usage reported by the CPU monitor plasmoid is very high (~ 50%), while top reports a very small CPU load. Another strange symptom is that, when I try to close the session, the system freezes for about 15 seconds before the logout/shutdown/restart dialog window appears, again with HDD spinning furiously. If I exit the dialog window and then try to close session again it works smoothly, so I think some caching is at work at second try.
This is very painful since it slows down my workflow. Since now I tried to:
- disable nepomuk, strigi and all that using the nepomukcontroller plasmoid
- disable compositing
- delete .kde folder
- uninstall and reinstall all kde packages
without any benefit. On the same laptop I have dual boot with a 64 bit arch installation, which does not have the same problem, nor has it my 64 bit desktop pc.
Does anyone have similar issues? I don't understand what is it that makes the HDD spin so much, nor how to eventually track it down (are there som HDD usage profiling utilities?). Moreover, why top and CPU usage plasmoid report so different CPU usage stats?
I'm very confused, so any help will be greatly appreciated.

Although I'm not having any of the issues as Snack, I have found KDE 4.7.0 to be a very horrible release. In fact, I'm sick and tired of the KDE release notes bragging about killing thousands of bugs each release, when in actuality the first few revisions of each stable release are horrible. When I first upgraded, I ran into at least four really nasty bugs. Although I've worked around some of them, it left a really sour taste in my mouth. Here is what I've experienced:
1.) With a new user or fresh install, there is no wallpaper by default, even if I install kde-wallpapers before I log in, it makes no difference.
2.) Sometimes kwin will crash during log out.
3.) Worse yet, if I exit a full screen game, it will more than likely crash Kwin. This is a problem on my laptop (which has intel video) and not my desktop (which has nvidia video). If I don't remember to disable desktop effects before opening a game, I may run into a problem.
4.) Although my performance is good, it's not great. I would think a laptop with a Core i5 processor and 8GB of RAM would run faster than it is.
I have tested XFCE for a bit, and I do like it alot. However, with XFCE I am unable to browse Samba shares, and that is a huge problem. In addition, I find KDE's applications to be much better than what ships with XFCE, but I question whether they're worth the performance hit. I really love Kate, Gwenview, Digikam, and Amarok. I know you can install those in XFCE, but they feel out of place and then my desktop pretty much becomes a mutt. Not only that, but KDE is full featured, whereas XFCE is not. It's like I have to choose between a stable desktop or a desktop with full of bugs.
I hope that KDE 4.7.1 fixes everything, but historically it's usually the 4.x.2 release that really does the trick.

Broadband usage gone over warnings but used less t...

Earlier in the month I had an email from BT to let me know I'd used more than 7Gb of my 10Gb allowance. I used the broadband usage calculator which told me a similar story.
Trouble is I'm on the 40Gb option, have been for about a year, when I click through to my account details that is what it states there.
Having just done the usage calculator again, it's now showing red - limit exceeded - 28Gb used of a 10Gb allowance, but again clicking through to my account details, that still shows I'm on 40Gb monthly usage plan.
This has worked as expected in all previous months, anyone any ideas why one part of the BT accounting system has me flagged for a different usage amount than the other? And who do I need to speak to get all ends stating the correct amount?

It sounds to me that your package is correct on your account but your usage profile may be wrong. This is only an educated guess, without checking your details I cant be sure

Your question is a bit vague. Are you talking about the SPARC 
instruction set usage, profiling, coverage or something else? 
There are a number of utilities distributed as part of the Sun 
compiler that may help you, such as: 
prof, tcov, looptool. 
You might also want to have a look at this White Paper
