Resource Availibility DB Structure

Hi - I have been tasked with creating a SSRS Histogram report similar to the OOTB Resource Availibility report (Assignement Work by Resource) found in Project.
Is there a guide about which database and objects (sp's, views etc.) are used to represent this information so that I can create something similar and modify where required?
Thanks

You can Download project Server SDK their you will get the Reporting Database schema.

Above mentioned link will help you to understand about reporting DB.

  • Project server 2010. Troubles with resource availability

A problem occurred while checking resource usage using PWA.
    Using the PS 2010
the total number of projects about 2000, about 1600 resources (for 5 years)
We have a project - project1 and resource involved in it - res1
In the project, each week for the resource specified work (20 - 30 hours), the project is saved and published. (When publishing a project there are no errors.)
In MS Project and PWA in Project center values per weeks are the same. Go to the resource center, choose res1 and check its work in resource availability and see that for some weeks value of work is 0, at some 1.75. some 0.462 etc.
For other projects work of this resource displayed normally. Moreover, for all other resources is displayed correctly in this project.
When re-saving project data and republishing it the situation is same.
This issue takes place to be for some other projects.
    questions:
1 - what database of PS take the data for plotting in resource availability?
2 - than similar behavior can be caused?
3 - how possible to solve this problem?
    Thanks for help!

    Hi,
The resource availability in PWA-resource center is based on the Published DB data.
In order to trouble shoot, can you check in the data grid under the resource availability graph the capacity of the resource? Indeed the availability is calculated based on work versus capacity. The capacity might vary with calendar exceptions (holidays)
and non-working administrative time in the resource timesheet. I'd suggest that you check in detail the periods where you have this unexpected behavior and see the resource calendar and timesheets.
Also what you can do is to open a blank project plan (be sure to check the option "load summary resources assignments when starting MS Project Pro), insert the resource, go to the resource usage and add the remaining availability and work availability.
Then you could confirm if the data are correct or not.
    Hope this helps,

    Hi Gaurav,
Other applications used the same the datasource, which I used for this application,
    are running fine.
I think there is some bug in the wlserver 6.1 to create the join table. I think
it is the time I should ask the bea wlserver 6.1.

  • What determines when the My Timesheet item will display in the Resource Availability Page?

Can someone point me to where I can get more information on the My Timesheet item that displays in the Details section of the Resource Availability page?  I cannot figure out where this information is coming from or what determines how many My Timesheet
    lines you see.
In one Project Server environment, I noticed that each user had 3-4 My Timesheet line items in the Resource Availability page.  The period I was looking at spanned 8 weeks and all of those weeks were in the future.  I checked the Manage Timesheets
page for one of the users that had 4 My Timesheet items in the Resource Availability page.  The user did not have any timesheets created for the 8-week period I was reporting on in the Resource Availability page.  To make matters more confusing,
some resources only had 3 My Timesheet line items in the Resource Availability page for the same period.  So it seems like something other than active timesheets for the period is dictating how many My Timesheet lines display.  Also curious was the
fact that ALL of the My Timesheet items for all users in the Resource Availability page (7 or 8 people) showed "0h" for all of the periods displayed.
I decided to look into this further in a separate Project Server environment, because I didn't have access to the first one at the time.  Both environments were configured to not use single entry mode and used resource plans to calculate allocation.
In this second environment, I entered hours against an administrative task classified as non-working time for one week and submitted / approved this sheet.  I entered hours against a project task for a second week and submitted / approved this sheet.
I then used the Resource Availability page and "reported" on a period including those periods (20-week period total).  I didn't see a single My Timesheet item.  Not even any showing the "0h" designation I had seen in the first environment.
So long story short, I cannot figure out the criteria that dictates when a My Timesheet item displays.  And I also can't figure out the purpose.  If the Resource Availability page is designed to show planned work (either through the planned allocations
stored in resource plans or planned assignments through project schedules), what is the point of the My Timesheet values?  Wouldn't planned work be captured in the project line items?  If it's for administrative, non-working time only, why would
the My Timesheet items not show up in the second environment scenario?  Any help / insight would be appreciated.

    Hi,
After investing a lot of time i found one link which is talking about My Timesheet in resource availability page.
I believe link providing proper explanation though i would like to test it on my system.

  • Resource availability during Non-Working Hours and Weekends

    Hi Gurus,
Aim: Make the Resource available during Non-Working Hours and Weekends
    Requirement: CRP functionality enabling
In CRC2 I have selected capacity tab and in capacity header under 'Change Interval and Shifts' button. I have Inserted a new Interval period and given the validity from/to dates(Non-Working day - Saturday) and Saved.
When i execute the Capacity Planning CM01, there is no change. The Resource availability still shows as "0"hrs for this particular date and for rest of the days it shows as 8hrs.
I have checked the same even after executing the MRP, No change in Capacity Planning Overview - Still the available Capacity Showas as 0
Please guide me, how can i use my resource during the holidays. Means make the system understand that the defined day is a working day though it is holiday as per factory calendar
Please correct me whether am i missing any settings or i should follow some other logic
    Regards,
    Tam

    Hi Partha,
In workdays i dont have any such option "2"
As per standard list I could see only 3 entries in the possible values(F4) popup
"Blank" - Working days according to factory calendar
    "0" - Non-Working days(Overrides factory Calendar)
    "1" - orking days(Overrides factory Calendar)
I have even tried with option "0" and "1" its still the same, when i enter the period From and To date the fields for the entries Shift start and end date, workday, Shift Seq, Length of the shift, No.of shifts.........are jumping to the next line item.
Because of which i understand that the entered values is not corresponds to the newly defined period
Pls guide me to how to make the resource available during non working days

  • Resource Availability

    hi,
I am facing problem in getting resource availability in staffing tab. I have maintained avialability for BP in RPM_EMPDATA. Please tell me what could be the solution to get availability of BP in staffing.
    Pramod

    Try this
    1) I am assuming you want availability of resources in hrs
    2) Maintain available unit as 1 hour for a BP through trax code- RPM_EMPDATA
    3) Ensure that you are maintaing a valid calendar in a project general tab or in global setting
    4) Ensure that you have start and end date for a resource which is assigned to a role in staffing tab
    5) Based on above setting system should provide available  hrs for a resource in staffing plan from start to end date based on a calendar  assign to a resource.
    Hope this helps, cheers

  • Resource Availability in Portfoio Analysis (Strategy) 2010 is Always 0

    Hi,
I am workig with PWA 2010 and we want to use the Strategy feature.
When I create an analysis, reach the last phase (Analyze Resource) and click on
Requirment Details on the ribbon, I can see in the bottom window (Project Requirements) the demand that my projects generate. However, in the top pane (Resource Availability) I see 0 for all the roles for every month. Also, the coloring in
the bottom pane is done as if I have no resources available (everythig is red)
I do have resources with these roles, some are named, some are generic, some have max units of 300%, 500% or 1000%.
    What is my problem?

    Hi Barak,
    Some question to verify:
Let Project Server recalculate the Resource Capacity
Have you modified the resource roles after you have created the Portfolio Analyses? => Recreate the Portfolio Analyses
Make sure the 'Resource Capacity Settings' under 'Additional Server Settings' and the 'Planning Horizon and Granularity' settings for the portfolio analyses overlap.
Could it be that all resource roles are fully allocated in all timeperiods? The Resource Availability part shows the 'remaining availability'.
I hope this helps you to find a solution.
    Regards,
    Hans

  • CProjects 4.0 - Resource Availability

How does the Resource Availability feature work in cProjects 4.0? Can the resource maintain his calendar in cProjects?
Staffing of a resource happens when the resource has the qualification for the role? How does the system take care of 'Availability?'

    Hi Bittu,
Some information to enhance Thorsten's answer about availability, it is not very straightforward.
First of all, does WFD server (other name WFM core) is used?  If Yes, then the availability is controlled by the WFD server (External).
If No, then the program using the cProject internal logic frequences to determine the availability:
    1.  The BP has the availability maintained. for example BP 'Mr. Hugo Boss'  works 8 hours each day.
    2.  The BP has a location, and the availability has maintaned for the location.
for example: 'Mr. Hugo Boss' has location 'Germany' and location 'Germany' works 7,5 hours.
    3. The BP has not the locaion . But the role has maintained a location.
For example: Role 'Software development' should be done in location 'U.S' and location has 9 Hours each day.
    4. If none of above is maintained, then the program check the customizing of distribution. The standard SAP dilivery has 8 hours each day.
The note 958573 is the prerequisite, and explain the same logic.
Please rewards point, if it is useful.
    Kind regards,
    Zhenbo

  • Check Resource availability from workflow

    Hi,
Has anyone know how to check the resource availability from the workflow? In Admin interface, there is a "Test Configuration" button you can use to test the resource. Is there a similar functionality that could be called from the workflow?
    Thanks for your input!

Create a Java method like in the following example and call if from anywhere you like
    public static void testConnectionExample() throws WavesetException {
        Resource resource = (Resource) getSession().getObject(Type.RESOURCE, "Active Directory");
        ResourceAdapter adapter = ResourceOp.findAdapter(resource, resource.getCache());
        WavesetResult result = adapter.testConfiguration();
        assert result == null || result.getErrorMessages() == null;
      }

  • Resource Availability - for next Shift only when required

    Hi Gurus,
How the Resources can be made available for the 2nd/3rd shift, only during a certain period. Resource should be made available for 2nd/3rd Shift as and when required period
Since the requirement for the shift is not sure during the Master Data(Resource) creation or at the Planning phase, It can only be decided upon during the shop floor execution based on the load and the urgency of the production compeletion. Is there a way to select/extend the Shift for 2nd/3rd shifts to make the resource available, ONLY as and when required
    Appreciate your help in advance
    Regards,
    TamNen

    TamNem,
    1. How this Resource availability - Extension will get accounted in CRP
I am not sure why you even care.  This is execution, not planning (predicting the future).  In effect, you are declaring, either upon execution or very near to the actual execution date,  that the existing plan was unworkable.  You declared a new cap plan, based on the reality of the capacity situation.  Many companies don't even bother with such niceties.
Anyhow, these additional hours will show as available in CRP.  If you schedule your existing orders to utilize these hours, then the additional hours will be consumed, by any orders that are scheduled to consume them.
When the Shop floor user decides in the mid-of-the day and plans to run the 2nd shift for the production completion for only one day to achieve the target, should the same procedure Master data change be done(each a day - when required)
Who even cares?  You will confirm orders during execution, based on what actually happened, and these confirmations will consume existing capacity requirements.  Once you have confirmed your orders. why do you need to change your old Cap plan to match the consumption actuality that happened during execution?  It is all a moot point, since it has already happened.   Planning is important only to predict the future.  What is the point of changing the old (inaccurate) plan to match the reality of what actually happened?
    3. Since the production department has many number of machines(15 Machines) and all...
what are you talking about? I definitely don't understand the question.
Capacity plan lets you plan what you are going to do in the future.  Execution tells you what actually happened.  Who cares what machines you actually used/didn't use?  You either executed the cap plan, or you didn't.  Execution will seldom match the plan.  The only thing a planner is interested in is "how much available capacity do I  have now, and how much remaining load is there on the capacity, as of right now.  No other questions are relevant.   Previous plans are irrelevant.  Comsumption variances are irrelevant (except to help you fine-tune existing future plans).
I don't believe there is much benefit to 'fiddling' with the previously created plan so as to make it match reality. Just execute.  If manufacturing has to work additional shifts, let them do so.  I don't believe It is really necessary to change the old plan to reflect the fact that manufacturing decided they needed to work additional shifts to meet the requirements of the cap plan..

  • ECC Plan Resource Availability is Considered before Component is Available.

    Hi All,
We have an issue with GOP and ASCP Resource Availability.
We are using ECC plan with 'Calculate Resource Requirement' option enabled. Current version is R12.1.1
    Issue:
Component and Resource together are required to make a subassembly.
Component is available on 31st August. For example, resource will be used only after 31st of August as component is not available before that. GOP/CTP is considering resource availability before 31st of August (before the component is available). Resource availability is being calculated from plan run date.
    What we expect:
Since component is available on 31st of August, resource (which is available 8 hours per day, 6 days a week) should be used from 31st of August and thus should give us completion date somewhere in first week of October (for 207.816 hours requirement of resource: 26 working days, after 31st of August) for subassembly.
But the resource capacity availability is being considered from current date and since there is no other demand, the resource availability from today is being considred. We want the capacity to be considered from the component availability date.
Did anyone encounter this problem before or this is an intended functionality?
    Your help is highly appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Vijay

    Hi Partha,
Thanks for the reply. The resource availability is not just visible but also used by ASCP in calculations.
For example in our case we have resource availability of 8 hours per day and inverse usage is 100 items per hour for a subassembly, there is no other demand, no supply. Subassembly lead time is 1 day. The component for the subassembly is available 12 days from today. For ATP inquiry of 8000 qty of the subassembly, the available date should be 23 days from today (Component available on 12th Day, and starts processing 800 qty per day for the next 10 days for a total qty of 8000 + subassembly lead time of 1 day).
The ATP inquiry is suggesting availability of subassembly as 13th Day from today. Pegging shows resource requirement of 80 hours and this is shown available 10 days from today. Component is available on 12th day and it takes 1 day for the subassembly completion.
ASCP is using resource availability from current date even if this resource cannot be used until the component is available.
    Any thoughts on this?
    Thanks.
    Vijay

    Hi,
I'm trying to create a session bean and load a resultset within it when the following
error occurs. What could be the reason?Need an immediate response. Thanks
    in advance
ThomasIt means the pool doesn't have a connection available for this thread to use, after waiting
some time for any other thread to return one. Either your pool is not big enough, or your
bean code may sometimes be forgetting to close any connection it gets. Note that in
a stateful session bean, you may fall into the trap of retaining a JDBC connection open
for the duration of the session. If you do this, your pool must have as many connections
as the maximum number of simultaenous sessions you want to support. Usually the aim is
to obtain a pool connection, use it, and return it to the pool, all within any single response
to the client. Then you only need as many pool connections as there are execute threads
in the server. Having a DBMS transaction that spans user input is an invitation to deadlocks,
    bottlenecks in performance etc.
