Resource File in Teststand
I had defined some Custom Steps for some Tests in TypePalette and defined some strings as Module names.When I install Teststand in another PC,I had got my Custom Steps and StationGlobals back by transferring the corresponding ini files,but for certain Module names which i had defined Iam seeing in Type Palette as "String not found in Language resource file".What workaround can be adopted to resolve this?Message Edited by murali_vml on 06-14-2005 08:49 AM
Hi,
Is it the CustomStrings.ini or the TestStandStrings.ini that you have added your resource strings?
Usual practices is to leave the TestStandStrings.ini alone in the NI\Language\English folder and add or modifiy the CustomStrings.ini in the User\Language\English folder.
In the Teststand workspace file, include the ini file.
In the deployment tool, you have the option too include the resource string file along with your test sequencefiles or enable the check button to include all files in the \Users folders.
Hope this helps

TestStand 4.2 Error String not found in language resource files
I've installed TestStand 4.2 on two Windows XP machines. On one machine it worked fine first time. On the other machine I receive the following message in the login box, and also in the templates pane: 'String not found in language resource files." I have tried uninstalling and re-installing TestStand twice but still get this error. This error prevents me being able to login as an administrator so I am unable to use TestStand 4.2. I understand that these language resource files are provided by the installer but for some reason it seems that the machine with the error cannot locate these.
The only difference between the two XP machines that I can find is the location of user profiles. I note that on Vista compatible TestStand versions that TestStand user settings are stored to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\National Instruments\TestStand 4.2\Components on XP machines. On the XP machine with the error all user profiles are stored under C:\profiles, rather than C:\Documents and Settings. This is the standard profile used by our company so I am unable to change this. The TestStand installer does recognise this and installs TestStand user settings to C:\profliles\All Users\Documents\National Instruments\TestStand 4.2\. Does anyone know whether the location of the user profiles is important, or whether there is another cause for this error?

David
Solved!
Go to Solution.Hi Scott,
I've held off on the changes suggested by John for now. You are correct in that the knowledge base article referenced by John does not apply since the engine does initialise.
I've attached two screen shots. The first one is the standard login box which displays the "String Not found in language resource files" message in place of the usual "administrator" user name. If I overwrite the "String Not found in language resource files" user name with "administrator" and click OK to log in then I get an "Invalid User Name" error dialogue box. Therefore I am unable to log into TestStand.
The second screen shot shows the TestStand sequence editor with the String Not found in language resource files visible in the templates pane.

David

Networked string resource files
I've created some custom string resource files for user interface messages such as message popups. I've located them in the Components\User\Language\English directory of each computer running TestStand. Instead, I would like to have a single copy on a networked drive so that I only have to update a single location when the strings change. Is there any way to have TestStand automatically load non-local string resource files and have the ResStr function work.
As you have determined, ResStr will work for the files you add to Components\User\Language\ or Components\NI\Language\ (as documented starting on page 3-6 of the TS user manual). However, at the moment there is no way to redirect TestStand to look in a directory located on a server.
NI has documented this suggestion and will consider it for future releases of TestStand. -
Not able eto publish theme - resource file does not exist
Hi Guys!
I try to publish a service to standalone ITS.. When I publish service, it is ok, but when I try to publish Theme 99, I get an error:
Ressource file ws01000109 99 does not exist
How can I get this resource file?
What to do to be able to publish it?
Thanx a lot!
PeterHello Peter,
Maybe a resource file does not exist for ws01000109. Have you tried to display the file? You can do so by double clicking on the 99 in the left side tree.

How to add resource files to a new folder to a project in JDeveloper 11g
Currently, new folder can only be created when creating an item within JDeveloper via setting the destination folder.
I have some resource files that are binary files and created outside JDeveloper.
How can I add those resource files to a specific folder under an existing project so that we can do versioning control on those files using SVN within JDeveloper?
Or I have to manage the versioning control of those files outside JDeveloper?Go to project properties - >Project content - > resources and add the directory.

Problem in finding a resource file from the jar.....
I have my code in the following directory structure

My application which uses Xalan.jar (lyong under ext directory in jdk) does not find XMLEntiries.res.
If I use my application as under without creating jar my application does find XMLEntites.res
Can anyone tell me why the application can not find the XMLEntities.res inside jar?Sorry I missed one line............

Just installed CC on my PC, Windows 7, 64 bit system. Not seeing any applications on the desktop or installation folder. However, all the resource files are present in the installation folder. What am I doing wrong?
I've installed three times with no luck. I downloaded the Creative Cloud Packager off the licensing site: https://licensing.adobe.com. I unpacked and choose my applications. The install seemed to be successful, but I don't so any of the applications anywhere.Hi,
Creating package doesn't mean it will install the product,
You will need to install the package now. Please follow the instructions mentioned in the below articles
Creative Cloud Help | Creating or editing packages
Creative Cloud Help | Deploying packages
Please let me know if it doesn't help.

Whwn I want to close Firefox 9.x , a pop-up appears with the message: "Can't load resource file ......" . First I have to close this pop-up, then Firefox is closed. Also with other versions of Firefox I had this problem.
i deleted the rdf and now the first window only (and any tabs in it) are maximised. i found this in the rdf
<RDF:Description RDF:about="chrome://browser/content/browser.xul#main-window"
screenX="4"
screenY="4"
width="1008"
height="461"
sizemode="Normal" />
i tried changing normal to maximised; no effect. either i need also to change the numbers (to match a maximised window) or ff ignores this. i want to be able to open different sites in different windows, and not have to maximise them manually. ff never used to be broken, why break this? what possible security flaw was fixed by screwing up ff to never open maximised unless u hack it or delete certain config files? -

I would either use JDev 10.1.3.3 or upgrade SOA Suite to 10.1.3.4

When I attempt to launch Adobe Distiller Pro 11.0.929, I get an error:
Unable to find "Adobe PDF" resource files "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\AMT" You must have Administrator privileges to install these files. Please contact your local system administrator.
Does anyone know how I might resolve this error? Re-installing Acrobat fixes it, however I'm getting this error on multiple machines so I would prefer to not have to re-install if possible. Any clues or hints you might have are very welcome!Yes, the folder exists and I am able to access it.

Resource file in configuration folder
Hi, I've run into a slight problem with Dreamweaver the other day. I was moving the icon and it accidentally was dropped into the trash.
I took the icon out and have it in the Dock again, but I can't get the icon back into the Creative Suite folders for some reason.
Now everytime I try to load Dreamweaver--from the Dock or the icon that I have on the Desktop it gives me the same error.
"Could not locate the Resources file in the Configuration folder.
This file is required to run Dreamweaver. Please reinstall the application."
And now I'm puzzled and lost as to what to do to get Dreamweaver up and running again.
I'm running CS5 and on a Mac. 10.6.8 version.
Any help would be much appreciated.Never mind. I was plying around with it again and figured it out. I had to move the actual file from the desktop into the application folders via finder. And now it works perfectly.

Acrobat 9.5.5 unable to find resource files
I am using Windows Vista und with the upgrade to Adobe Acrobat 9.5.5, I lost the administrative privileges on my own computer and Acrobat is unable to find resource files. I reinstalled Acrobat 9.5.5, went through the repair option, but have been unsuccessful in converting Windows files to PDF. Any suggestions? do I need professional help?
It is most likely looking for the job settings files. It may be that they are locked for some reason. I would look for those files and then be sure the folder is not restricted. I might be able to find the location based on my AA8 installation on VISTA at work, but that may be a while off. Seems strange that the update would do this change. The AA9 update that I did on Win7 had no such problems.

Having problem with Unable to find "Adobe PDF" resource files
Hello
I have Adobe Acrobat XI PRO (11.0.05) and using MS Office 2010 on my Windows XP SP3.
I've read about this issue.
"Unable to find PDFMaker resource files error shows up for Microsoft Word when Acrobat XI
is installed with Acrobat X Standard already on the same machine. If the user repairs
or even uninstalls Acrobat XI, then the same error shows up for Acrobat X Standard also.
The user must repair Acrobat X Standard in order for PDFMaker to work with it again. [3327895]"
But i don't have Acrobat X installed anymore also I didn't encountered this problem when i was using a lower version of Acrobat XI can't remember what exact version.
Repair Mode works but only temporary once i shutdown my laptop and boot-up then create a pdf the error returns again so yeah i once again run the Repair Mode to in-order for me to create PDF's
What should i do?
Any help would be geatly appreciatedHi RazzMaTazz007 ,
