Resource interpreted as Document but transferred with MIME type application/postscript.

Hi,
we are running framed web pages showing preview (PNG or JPEG) of postscript files. These previews are simply linked to the postscript files. Following this links one gets the postscript source shown and not the graphics!? The error console says:
Resource interpreted as Document but transferred with MIME type application/postscript.
When one chooses to:
Open link in new tab
the postscript is correctly shown!
The rough layout of the pages is:
Start page:
  and frame2.htm (frame1.htm is not of importance):
When one sets the target to open up a new page the postscript is shown correctly, but we want the postscript to be shown in the 'content' frame!
If I remember correctly, did this work as wanted in the past and changed the behavior the last year. We experience this behavior in snow leopard and lion (all running the up to date Safari - and yes we are upgrading constantly).
Any help to get the wanted behavior (back), would be very appreciated!!
Cheers,
Raimund

same thing for me, anyone have any info on this?

  • Problem with opening Archivelink document because of wrong MIME type

    In transaction OAD2 we have a document type FAX which is currently connected to MIME-type application/pdf. This works fine for opening documents having document class FAX and are actuallty a PDF. However, in the past this document type FAX has also been used to store documents, which refer to a MIME type 'image/tiff'.
    When opening FAX-documents that are actually a PDF-file, this currently works fine. When  trying to view these FAX-documents that are actually a TIFF-file, it won't be shown in e.g. SAP Document Viewer, because the extention is unknown. You you have to save the file locally in order to be able to see it.
    Is there a solution to look to the actual document type when opening a document via ArchiveLink, instead of looking to the ArchiveLink document type?
    Thanks for any input in this one!
    Regards,
    Joost

    I've been looking at the file, and it is indeed a puzzlement.
    There is some good news, however. I don't know why it is happening (perhaps a bug, and maybe John would like to take a look at this, too), but it looks like the Paper-filled rectangle from Hinweise layer on the right of Master Ee is being copied to the left half of the actual document spreads on random layers. The pages that seem to be blank are easy to spot in the Page panel (22, 24, 26 & 32) and you can simply Cmd-Shift click on the rectangles on those pages to override and your text and graphics will be revealed. I'm not immediately picking up any other problems scanning quickly through the pages. For a quick and dirty get it done solution, I think this will work, though I would use the .inx file rather than the .indd for the conversion in CS5.5.
    I've looked through the file history, and it is long. This started out in 2007 in CS2 and has gone through updates in CS3 and CS4, and been recovered from crashes at least 4 times (which might have something to do with the strangeness). I also think there are a lot of extraneous unused frames on many of the pages. If it were my project, I'd probably clean it up as much as possible in CS4, even going as far as recreating the master pages in a new document and then going page by page and doing a copy/paste in place of all non-master objects into the new file if you don't want to spend the time to place everythign again from scratch, which in my opinion would be a better idea (I tried moving the pages to a new file, but that didn't make any difference in the CS5.5 conversion). You could also rebuild from Scratch in CS5.5.

  • Problem with mime type in web.xml file

    Hi everybody,
    I actually got a problem with mime types on Weblogic 6.0 under Linux.
    I read the documentation so I added the next lines in the web.xml file in
    the WEB-INF directory of my server :
    <mime-mapping>
    <extension>
    doc
    </extension>
    <mime-type>
    application/msword
    </mime-type>
    </mime-mapping>
    <mime-mapping>
    <extension>
    ppt
    </extension>
    <mime-type>
    application/vnd.ms-powerpoint
    </mime-type>
    </mime-mapping>
    Why can't I retrieve a .doc or .ppt files with an internet browser correctly
    ? I get only text/plain ...
    Can someone help me ?
    Regards,
    Alexis Berger

    I am having the same problem with doc and xsl. I have added this
    <mime-mapping>
    <extension>xls</extension>
    <mime-type>application/vnd.ms-excel</mime-type>
    </mime-mapping>
    <mime-mapping>
    <extension>doc</extension>
    <mime-type>application/msword</mime-type>
    </mime-mapping>
    to my web.xml. I even restarted the server. I still see doc and xsl in binary.
    Is there some other setting that needs to take place?
    I am using WL6.1 with fixpack 1.
    I can see the doc and excel files in the browser if I don't go through the weblogic
    server. That just confirms it's not my browser.

  • Need Java Coding to sent File in a Mail Attachment with MIME Type with SMTP

    Hi Experts,

      Please provide me.

    Hi Stefan,
      Thanks for your Blog.
    The same java mapping is been used in my current system, but the legacy system cannot read
    some emails as they are asking us to send the email in MIME format.
    Already i am sending in MIME format itself.
    They can read some Emails and they cannot ream some Emails.
    I think the problem could be their exchange server.
    Can you please suggest on this.

  • Suddenly I can't open one document in inumbers: "The sheet can't be imported. The document was created with an unsupported application version."

    Yesterday I worked on a inumbers document on my mac mini. No problem. 3 hours later I would open the same document on my ipad. It told me that there were 2 versions and I had to choose one (surprisingly bouth had the same time/date). Since then I can't open this document anymore (regardless if iphone, ipad, mac mini): "The sheet can't be imported. The document was created with an unsupported application version." I worked on this document more than 1 year only on my ipad, iphone, imac... how can i get it worked or back? Other documents are still working properly.
    Thanks for any hint.

    The first part of the warning message was in german, so it's probably not translated as it really appears in englisch:
    Massage on IPad and IPhone: "Tabelle kann nicht importiert werden. The document was created with an unsupported application version.
    Message on mac mini: ""Verbrauch.numbers" kann nicht geöffnet werden"
    What changed since is also, that the mini privew for this document no more exist; it shows just the inumbers icon in the sheet. The other documents around this one appears with preview and can be open, e.g. are working fine.

  • Problems with MIME type in Safari

    Hi.
    Somebody send me files via some web page, but safari keeps asking this.
    The page “******* - QuickLink Delivery” has content of MIME type “application/x-aspera-web”. Because you don’t have a plug-in installed for this MIME type, this content can’t be displayed.
    I try to find the plug-in but i can't find it.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions
    Have a look here. This may be helpful.
    Would you post the URL sent to you. Curious to see the web site requiring the plug-in.

  • How to get at a mail of MIME type application/vnd.ms-excel?

    My java proggie has to deal with an email sent with Outlook '97 (don't ask me why it has to be that) and this email has the following header fields (see below). Now, my program works fine if the email has MIME type multipart/mixed. So, how do I have to do to handle an email of MIME type application/vnd.ms-excel (outline of logic or even some code snippet will be greatly appreciated)?

    Depends on what you want to do with it.
    If you want to access the data in the Excel spreadsheet
    and make sense of it, you're going to need some
    Java classes to interpret an Excel spreadsheet.
    Good luck on that. :-)
    If you just want to save the content in a file, as if it
    were an attachment, use msg.getInputStream()
    and copy the data to a file, like this:
            OutputStream out = null;
            InputStream in = null;
            try {
                out = new BufferedOutputStream(new FileOutputStream(file));
                in = msg.getInputStream();
                byte[] buf = new byte[8192];
                int len;
                while ((len = in.read(buf)) > 0)
                    out.write(buf, 0, len);
            } finally {
                // close streams, but don't mask original exception, if any
                try {
                    if (in != null)
                        in.close();
                } catch (IOException ex) { }
                try {
                    if (out != null)
                        out.close();
                } catch (IOException ex) { }
            }

  • Trouble shooting- MIME type "application/x-shockwave-flash"

    I am experincing a problem with watching youtube videos. This problem is exactly like Subtitlemewrong's problem which stated...
    "I received only the December '07 update of Quicktime (7.4) and Security Update (2007-009 1.1). That's it. And then my life went to shambles and flash content no longer displays on the web!"...
    "A website with flash content won't load, instead I get a block icon with a question mark and a message saying, "The page "Page Title X" has content of MIME type "application/x-shockwave-flash". Because you don't have a plug-in installed for this MIME type, the content can't be displayed." Sometimes I get directed to the Adobe site for Flash, which I'll download. But that doesn't do anything either."
    I tried the solution that was given by Klaus1 and it didn't work. I uninstalled using http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157&sliceId=2
    Then I tried to install using http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash. I clicked on powerpc -based mac and started to install and recieved taht same message that I didn't have the plug-in installed this MIME type.
    Thanks for you help.

    Yeah, I already tried it under a different account. Unfortunately the new account had the same problem. I appreciate the suggestion. My only logical guess is that the new update to quicktime doesn't mix with 10.3 Panther. I am planning on upgrading to Leopard next week after I get my paycheck. Who knows, maybe those guys will know how to fix it, but so far...no luck. Thanks.

  • Content of MIME type "application/x-shockwave-flash"

    Hey, im not that advanced with this stuff but I keep on getting this message recently and I cannot remember any recent major downloads/updates:
    This page has content of MIME type “application/x-shockwave-flash”, but you don’t have a plug-in installed for this MIME type.
    This happens on Youtube, facebook and stuff like that. Also, Ive noticed that apple trailers using quicktime isnt working. I have installed the new plugins for flashplayer and Quicktime but still no result.
    Any help PLEASE? I hate using firefox coz i love safari!
    Cheers!

    Have you by any chance moved Safari from its proper place in the Applications Folder to a sub-folder, or renamed it?
    Try this routine:
    Repairing permissions is an important part of regular maintenance, and should always be carried out both before and after any software installation or update.
    Go to Disk Utility (this is in your Utilities Folder in your Application folder) and click on the icon of your hard disk (not the one with all the numbers).
    In First Aid, click on Repair Permissions.
    This only takes a minute or two.
    Background information here:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25751
    and here:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302672
    If you were having any serious problems with your Mac you might as well complete the exercise by repairing your hard disk as well. You cannot do this from the same start-up disk. Reboot from your install disk (holding down the C key). Once it opens, select your language, and then go to Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Select your hard disk as before and click Repair.
    Once that is complete reboot again from your usual start-up disk.

    data:
      w_event type ref to cl_htmlb_event,
      w_obj type ref to object,
      w_mod type ref to cl_htmlb_inputfield,
      w_module type string.
      data:
       tv type ref to cl_htmlb_tableview,
       tv_data type ref to cl_htmlb_event_tableview.
      call method cl_htmlb_manager=>get_event
      exporting
        request = runtime->server->request
      receiving
        event   = w_event.
      case w_event->id.
      when 'open'.
        call method cl_htmlb_manager=>get_data
          exporting
            request = runtime->server->request
            name    = 'inputfield'
            id      = 'module'
          receiving
            data    = w_obj.
           w_mod ?= w_obj.
           w_module = w_mod->value.
    endcase.
    'open' this open you need to declare in HTMLB  Button Tag with Option ID...in this way as soon as you click the Button OPEN the Event will be triggered

  • MIME type &#147;application/x-mplayer2&#148;

    One URL I visit pops up a warning that I don't have a "MIME type 'application/x-mplayer2' plug-in installed, so I can't use certain portions of the site. Where can I find such a plug-in? Is it a popular plug-in that is used by other sites?

    I've never come across this plugin before - doubt it's widely used - but it might refer to MPlayer OS X, MPlayer Plug-in or Windows Media, I'm not sure. Try out MPlayer Plug-in first.

  • Safari and MIME type "application/x-mplayer2"

    When trying to listen to web pages conatining mp3 audio files (prior to purchasing them) , Safari comes up with a message saying that MIME type “application/x-mplayer2” is not installed and only downloads the html file and not the mp3 file. When we check on our installed plug-ins in Safari, MIME type “application/x-mplayer2” has been installed.
    How do we fix this? We are using Safari Version 2.0.2 (416.12) OSX 10.4.3. It works on one of our older machines running Safari Version 1.3.1 (v312.3.3) OSX 10.3.9

    Nevermind. I answered my own question. Seek and you shall find. http://www.apple.com/safari/download/plugins.html I just had to DL the WMV plug in. All better.

  • Safari doesn't display an object with MIME type video/mp4

    So, I've got a little hiccup here. I put together a CV in html with samples you can click to bring up. Now, I don't make any claims to professional geekdom, but I try to be fairly html savvy, and since I'm sending this to the college IT guys, I want to do it right. So I'd like this thing to use valid w3c compliant html. Not too tough, fix some missing quotes and learn how to use the object tag instead of embed. Done.
    Well, here's the problem. I loaded it into Safari for testing, and a Quicktime file won't play. Now, it runs fine on Firefox. The obtuse and awkwardly lumped in IE version of the object works fine (tested in IE6, Win2K virtual machine). And the same file ran fine when I had it using an embed tag. Now it just brings up the Quicktime emblem, takes up the specified amount of space, and doesn't do anything.
    What did I do wrong? I've got the latest Quicktime and Safari, and I know it's standards compliant. Do I have to feed it some more specific type for an h.264 encoded mp4?
    Here's the code I used. The embed tag is the one that works, the object tag is the compliant one that doesn't. I'm guessing I'm missing a parameter or something. Any advice?
    <embed scale="1" src="files/Sabres.mp4" pluginspage="http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/" autoplay="FALSE" volume="100" cache="TRUE" height="496" width="640">
    <object type="video/mp4" data="files/Sabres.mp4" height="496" width="640">
    <param name="controller" value="true">
    <param name="autoplay" value="false">
    Your browser cannot display this content. Click here to download it.
    </object>

    Tom and Kirk, thanks for your time. That would work, but since <embed> is a non-standard tag, I want to avoid it.
    Andy, I actually stopped by that site last night, and I did use it for the object code.
    My problem is that for some reason, what looks like a legitimate implementation of <object> isn't displaying in Safari. I know Firefox is a bit more forgiving of sloppy code, so I don't blame Safari for that one. I know Safari can display the file because it displayed it properly when I called it with embed. I'm just not sure what's wrong with the code that's making Safari not bring up the video. It knows it's Quicktime and loads the file, I know that, because it brings up the emblem and starts hoarding RAM when I bring it up in Safari, but it just holds there. I've tried a couple MIME types, including video/quicktime and video/mp4, both worked in Firefox, and video/h264 just as a shot in the dark, and both Safari and Firefox showed the alternate content.
    By the way, here's the full code I used to display the object, using Castro's cloaking technique for IE compatibility. I omitted it earlier because when I isolated the non-IE section alone in the body of the document it behaved the same as it did with the cloaking (working in FF, broken in Safari).
