Resource Mailbox Not Declining Conflicting Appointments

Recently upgraded from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010.
All of my resource mailboxes are allowing conflicting meeting requests to be scheduled, even though in the window when you are scheduling it, it says "conflicts with another appointment".
Resource attendants are enabled, and the box for "allow conflicting meeting requests" is NOT checked.
Maximum conflict instances is 0, and conflict percentage allowed is 0.
And I am not scheduling any recurring meetings.  If there is a meeting already schedule from 1-2 (for example) and I go on the calendar and schedule another meeting in the same resource from 12:30-2:00 it lets me schedule it, never declines it or anything.
I have looked around a bunch and can't seem to figure out what is wrong, so any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Still banging my head against this.  Here are the settings for a mailbox that doesn't work (k2) and a mailbox that does (strategysummit).  The k2 mailbox is a mailbox that was created in exchange 2003 and then migrated to a resource mailbox during
the migration.  Strategysummit is a new room mailbox created after the migration and works fine.  All my room mailboxes created in 2003 are having this problem.

    Hi,

  • Exchange server 2010 - Resource mailbox not showing up in GAL

    i created  a new resource user and mailbox and can not see it in the GAL when I go to set a new meeting. If I go to the Outlook Web Acces I can see the
    new resource. How can I get the GAL to see the new resource so all staff can start signing up for it
             The
    GAL (Global Address List) is essentially a list of all email recipients in your organization.  It
    does not contain other address lists.  It could
    however contain distribution groups.
    Address lists are like the GAL,
    but more specific.  For example: “All Rooms”.  This
    would show all room mailboxes.  All room mailboxes
    would also appear in the GAL.
    You
    don’t email an address list.  These are for
    recipient browsing/clicking only.  You may be
    confusing Address Lists with Distribution groups.
    Outlook
    running in cached mode doesn’t connect to Exchange for either of these two types of address lists. Instead
    it uses what’s called an OAB (Offline Address Book) which is generated by a mailbox server once a day and distributed by a client access server or via system Public Folder.
    Anytime
    there is an issue with an address list, I check using Outlook in online mode or through OWA; since neither of these methods use an offline copy of data.  If
    you find OWA works and Outlook cached mode doesn’t; it may be due to OAB generation issues or delays.

    The default update interval
    of OAB is 12 hours. You need to need until then to get it displayed in the GAL for Outlook Cached Mode...if you not you can go Outlook online Mode
    Please refer to 13 in this

    If the OAB still can’t
    be updated after 12 hours please enable the diagnostic logging for MSexchangeSA>OAL Generator to maximum.

  • Mindstorm software conflict "resource files not found"

    Hi All,
    my apologies if this is addressed elsew in the forum - searched but did not find any entries.
    I am co-teaching a robotics class to middle school students (Lego FLL) and a class to the high school students using LabView 2009 + Lego kit. After installing the Labview environment I (as well as my co-teachers) can no longer run the Mindstorms software. THe error reported is bout resource files not found.
    Co any one shed some light on how to have both environments co-exist on the same laptop?
    Many thanks

    Hi there. Not a problem.  This is probably a known conflict between MINDSTORMS 1.0 and LabVIEW.  It can be fixed easily.  Please see http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/4B0C1BBDA9CFEBE7862573D0005D93C4
    This might have also affected MINDSTORMS 1.1 but I can't recall.

  • Outlook 2010 User can't access free/busy info for one resource mailbox calendar

    There are a couple posts that are similar, but I haven't been able to solve this one yet.
    We just recently moved our conference room calendars from public folders to proper resource mailboxes. Aside from users not RTFM on how to use them the move has been fairly painless. Until now. I have one user that can't see the free/busy info on one of
    the room calendars. Just one. We are using Exchange 2010 and he is on Outlook 2010. When he tries to view a meeting in the calendar he gets an error, "Cannot open this Item. Cannot open the free/busy information."
    He has no problem opening meetings for that room on OWA, so it leads me to believe it involves some temp files or cached info on his machine.
    I tried using /CleanFreeBusy on his computer and it did not remedy the situation. I removed his profile and added it again which appeared to work, but five minutes later when I got back to my desk he could no longer open the meetings.
    Any insight would be much appreciated. I admit I am an amateur when it comes to Exchange admin.

    Remove and recreate the Outlook profile from their machine? I did this and it worked for a few minutes.
    By resetting his profile do you mean removing his profile from the machine and recreating it after backing up all his user data?

  • Re create the default mailboxplan and 3 other resource mailboxes

    We are running exchange 2010 in the hosting mode (/hosting) with SP3 installed
    in one of the organizations the 4 default resource mailboxes are missing :
    Defaultmailboxplan ,
    Discoverysearchmailbox ,
    and 2 SystemMailboxes ...
    when trying to add a new mailbox in that organization  i get the following error :
    new-mailbox : No mailbox plans exist. Mailboxes can't be created without a mailbox plan. Use New-MailboxPlan to create
    a mailbox plan.
    so is posible to recreate those resources or do i need to recreate the whole organization ?
    and the command new-mailboxplan : New-Mailboxplan : The term 'New-Mailboxplan' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or opera
    ble program. Check the spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct and try again. (exchange/activedirectory module loaded)

  • Exchange Server 2013 SP1 - How to create Resource Mailbox on powershell?

    Hi,
    I'm having a hard time trying to create a resource mailbox. The "Resource" page on ECP doesn't have the option to create (probably after the SP1 update deploy) so I'm trying to create on Powershell. The problem is that the help examples doesn't
    work, and I can't find it online either. It seems that with SP1 the command or the parameters changed.
    Here's an example (get-help new-mailbox -examples):
    New-Mailbox -UserPrincipalName [email protected] -Alias confmbx -Name ConfRoomMailbox -Database "Mailbox
    Database 1" -OrganizationalUnit Users -Room -ResetPasswordOnNextLogon $true
    A parameter cannot be found that matches parameter name 'UserPrincipalName'
    There's a lot of parameters that cannot be found. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Try this:
    In PS Command:
    New-Mailbox -Database “DB2013″ –Name ConferenceRoom1 –OrganizationalUnit “Resourse” -DisplayName “ConferenceRoom1″ –Room
    To verify if the Room mailbox created:
    Get-Mailbox ConferenceRoom1 | FL Name, RecipientTypeDetails, PrimarySmtpAddress

  • Fails to synchronise conflicting appointments in O...

    I use my 6230i and PC Suite to synchronise my home Outlook Calendar with the Outlook calendar on my company PC. Both PC's are running XP SP2.
    However, if I have conflicting all day appointments on my home PC, they transfer ok to the mobile, but do not show up on the work PC's calendar (only one all day appointment shows up).
    I have the settings on the work PC to only update one way from the mobile. Is there some other setting I need to adjust in order for these conflicting appointments to show up?
    Thank you in advance to anyone who can help me with this query.

    you tried different repositories, not different servers. If you want the normal "stable" packages, you should only use core, extra and community.
    About the failures, I think the belnet ftp server seems to be down as i experience similar problems, when trying to connect to it with a web browser it asks for a password, the same occured ealier this year (I think there also was a thread about it here).
    So to solve your problems, just choose a different server by editing the files for each repo in /etc/pacman.d/. Just put the one you want to use on top of the list.

  • Resource ( Room ) not showing up under Scheduling Assistant as an Attendee ?

    Hi All
    Hope someone can guide me here with two wierd issues I'm having, maybe something I'm not getting it.
    Problem 1 :
    Client = Outlook 2010, Server = Exchange 2010
    A users (the organizer of a meeting) can see the resource she is booking as an attendee under her own scheduling assistant, but if you open the appointment in the calendar of the resource itself, and you check the Scheduling Assistant, the room
    ( itself ) does not show up as an attendee.
    However - if you book the appointment from the resource calendar - the resource shows up as an attendee for all those invited.
    Problem 2 :
    Referring to Problem 1 - One of the attendees accepts the meeting request and the user sees the acceptance message arrive in her mailbox, however - when she checks the tracking status - it shows the response as "none" ?. The auto acceptance by the resource
    shows "Accepted" which is correct.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    In Exchange 2010, you can use
    Get-CalendarProcessing –Identity <roommailbox> command to the status of the ‘AutoProcessing’ parameter. The default setting is AutoUpdate, whilst the other available option is None. The setting of AutoUpdate means that
    the Calendar Attendant is used on the resource mailbox, which itself means that new meeting requests will be marked as tentative on the resource mailbox calendar.
    To make the organizer get the notification of accept, you can use the following command to configure:
    Set-CalendarProcessing –Identity <roommailbox> –AutomateProcessing AutoAccept
    Hope it helps.
    Thanks

  • 500 unexpected error : Editing Resource mailbox Issue

    Not able to edit resource mailbox in 2013. Issue is not for all resource mailbox only for few resource mailbox's it gives me error 500 unexpected error . Request could not be completed. any idea we are migrating from ex2007 to 2013 When we create new resource
    mailbox in Ex2013 there is no issue
    Version of Exchange 2007 sp3 roll12, Ex2013with rollup 4 . All resource mailboxes are on Ex2013

    Hi,
    Could you perform other operations in EAC?
    You said that issue was not for all resource mailbox, only some resource mailboxes were affected. If that is the case, I recommend you compare these affected resource mailbox with other normal mailbox and check if there is any difference between them.
    If possible, I recommend you move a resource mailbox to a different mailbox database to check result.

    Is it possible to have the attachment deleted from this email that the delegate receives?

    Hi,
    I would like to clarify the following thing:
    Setting Delete Attachments means that the attachment information in a meeting request does not appear in the resource's calendar. But it would appear in the meeting email original content of Inbox.
    I'm afraid there is no direct way to delete the attachments of meeting requests before they go into delegate's inbox. But there is a workaround, you can new rule on Outlook to delete all attachments that are sent to delegate. (Note: If you new this rule,
    all attachments that are sent to the delegate will be deleted, not only meeting requests.)
    Hope my clarification is helpful.
    If there are any problems, please feel free to let me know.

  • Resource Delegation Not Working

    On Exchange 2010 SP3 RU8v2, for the life of me I can't figure out why resource delegation is not functioning as expected.  The issue is that the approval email is not being sent to the delegate but instead it's sitting in the resource's inbox.
    I verified with a bunch of articles and it should be quite straight forward to set this up:
    1. Create room resource
    2. "Specify users who are allowed to submit in-policy meeting requests that will be automatically approved" - Check, Selected recipients, (blank)
    3. "Specify who can submit in-policy meeting requests that are subject to approval by a resource mailbox delegate"  - Check, All users
    4. "Enable the Resource Booking Attendant..." - Uncheck
    5. Add user to "Specify delegates of this mailbox"
    6. "Forward meeting requests to delegates" - Check
    7. Set-CalendarProcessing -Identity test-room2 -AutomateProcessing:None
    Under this configuration, all users adding the resource into the meeting request will trigger an approval email to the delegate but it's simply not working.  Why?

    Hi,
    The "Enable the Resource Booking Attendant..." should be checked in the resource mailbox delegate configuration. We also can run the following command in EMS:
    Set-CalendarProcessing -Identity test-room2 -AutomateProcessing AutoAccept
    Then check whether the issue persists.

  • Exchange 2010 resource mailbox automatically opening along with user email account

    I've created a number of resource mailboxes for conference rooms, however one of them continuously opens in my Outlook profile. Deleting the profile doesn't seem to help, and it follows me around (it does it in my local Outlook 2010 profile, as well as my
    Outlook 2013 profile in our Citrix environment).
    Right-clicking the mailbox and selecting Close presents a box saying, "This group of folders is assicated with an email account. To remove the account, click the File Tab, and on the Info tab, click Account Settings. Select the e-mail account, and then
    click Remove."
    Unfortunately the profile is not configured to open this account, it's configured to only open my account (a domain admin).  I've also gone into the settings of my account in Outlook and it is not set to open the resource mailbox as an additional mailbox
    on the Advanced tab, so I'm not sure where it's getting this setting.
    Since the issue seems to be unrelated to the actual Outlook profile, I looked at both mailbox objects within the Exchange Management Console and can find nothing in either object that would be instructing Outlook to open both mailboxes.
    Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

    Seems like it's auto-mapped to the account. Run Remove-mailboxpermissions against it, hopefully it will 'refresh' the settings. If it still doesn't work, check the msExchDelegateListLink for the resource mailbox.

    <servlet>
         <servlet-name>NewEmployee.jsp</servlet-name>
         <jsp-file>/NewEmployee.jsp</jsp-file>
    </servlet>
    <servlet-mapping>
         <servlet-name>NewEmployee.jsp</servlet-name>
         <url-pattern>/view</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    This is the code in the application.xml of the ear which should make it possible to access the webproject under .../employee.
    <module>
         <web>
              <web-uri>EmployeeWeb.war</web-uri>
              <context-root>employee</context-root>
         </web>
    </module>
    Best Regards,
    Carina

    Hy!
    I tried several changes and found out, I just had to remove the ' / ' bevor NewEmployee.jsp in the jsp-file - tag.
    <servlet>
         <servlet-name>NewEmployee.jsp</servlet-name>
         <jsp-file>NewEmployee.jsp</jsp-file>
    </servlet>
    Now it works and I'm able to test the jsp. There's a form and after a submit a jndi-lookup is performed.
    Object ref=jndiContext.lookup("java:comp/ev/ejb/EmployeeService");
    It seems the EJB reference in the web.xml:
             <ejb-ref>
              <ejb-ref-name>ejb/EmployeeService</ejb-ref-name>
              <ejb-ref-type>Session</ejb-ref-type>
              <home>com.sap.bsp.EmployeeServicesHome</home>
              <remote>com.sap.bsp.EmployeeServices</remote>
              <ejb-link>EmployeeEjb.jar#EmployeeServicesBean</ejb-link>
         </ejb-ref>
    doesn't work, because I get:
    com.sap.engine.services.jndi.persistent.exceptions.NameNotFoundException: Path to object does not exist at java:comp, the whole lookup name is java:comp/ev/ejb/EmployeeService.
    Looking forward to a hint
    Best regards,
    Carina
