Resources for drive upgrades (ATA to SDD)

Can the MacBook Pro with Serial ATA drive be upgraded to SSD? Just got of the Chat with Apple and they say it can not be done. I've posted before whether this can be accomplished and the results are mixed.
Has anyone got a resource for accomplishing this or have done this themselves. I plan to purchase the ATA 7200 drive and would like to upgrade to SSD in the future when prices/capacity changes.
Thanks for any resources and/and or assistance.

Having the hard drive changed is easy on the new MacBook Pros. I have noted links to some helpful resources for you to check out.
Just remember to use the install disks that have been included with your computer for having the operating system installed. Do not use the retail version or disks from another computer.

• Is it a mistake for not upgrading the hard disk of new iMac to 1TB Fushion Drive

I have just bought a new iMac 27" in Fortress in HK for Video editing by Final Cut Pro X and Motion 5, may be After Effect later. I am thinking if I have made a mistake for not upgrading the driver to Fushion Drive. The followings are my spec:
Intel qual core-i7 3.4 GHz
16 GB RAM
1TB SATA
GTX 680 MX
Because my budget was within HKD 20,000, so I am considering if my decision for the upgrades were correct for video editing. To be honest, I really want to try Fushion Drive

I don't think it is a mistake. The Fuse Drive is a combination of both a Real SSD and a spinning mechanical hard drive. With that system if either drive fails you lose all your data.
There have been many articles on how to Make a Fuse drive, when there is both an SSD and Spinner installed in the system, and how to Break one up so you can use both drive independently, SSD and spinning drive as 2 separate drives.
The reason Apple came up with this system is for people that have no concept of how to use 2 separate disks in their systems. It allows them to still have the speed of a SSD along with the storage capacity of the large spinning hard drive without knowing how and where to store the data they have or may accumulate over the life of the system.
Also the way Apple want the user, almost Forces users, to store there files is in the User area that is located on the Boot drive. That will fill up a SSD very fast (depending on how much data the user or users have).
It does have overhead that will slow the system down compared to a system with independently accessed SSD and spinners.
Not sure what model iMac you bought as I didn't think the newest 27 inchers were out yet. But you should be able to add your own SSD so you can use it for the OS and program files and store your data on the mechanical, spinning, hard drive. And you can do that for much less them what Apple charges for a SSD. You could also combine them into a Fuse drive if you like. Just do a Google search for "Make Fuse Drive".

• Need help picking the correct hard drive upgrade for my MBP

I need help picking the correct/best hard drive upgrade for my MBP. It is the 15" 2GHz Core Duo. Came with a spacious 90GB drive.
Suggestions and recommendations very appreciated.

It will take almost any 2.5 inch sata drive.
Take a look at www.newegg.com and www.macsales.com to see what's out there and how much it costs.
Toshiba have a 320gb 2,.5 inch drive in the works, but it's not quite out yet and will be expensive.
I'll start you off..

• Driver upgrade for AMD Radeon 5770 Graphics Card

I have a 2008 Mac Pro, running OSX 10.8.5. Just installed AMD Radeon 5770 graphics card (Apple says this isn't supported; users I read said it works despite what Apple says in knowledge article (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3477). When I restarted, the system said my card was a Radeon HD 5000, not 5770. AMD's web site not clear about driver upgrade (and I believe I have to do this, since I took out the old graphics card (ATI Radeon HD 2600 that came with the Mac Pro at purchase). Didn't get a clear answer, yet, from Apple support. Anyone experience this? Does anyone know which driver to manually download from AMD's site? It's not clear, and they also suggested, talk to Apple to get driver support. Here's where I went, and found the choice not clearly mapped out for the Mac (and their autodetect software works only for XP:

-and here: http://www.official-drivers.com/installer/?seed=ati&gclid=CJeA0M_1u7wCFVhufgod4Q MAcQ.
Thanks.

RE: Mac Pro silver tower (2006-2012) Replacement Graphics cards
1) Apple brand cards,
2) "sold in the Apple store" cards, and
3) "Mac Edition" cards ...
... show all the screens, including Boot up screens, Safe Mode, Installer, Recovery, debug screens, and Alt/Option boot screens. At this writing, these choices include:
1) Apple brand cards:
• Apple-firmware 5770, about US$250** works near full speed in every model Mac Pro, Drivers in 10.6.5. (This card has just been discontinued and is no longer available from Apple dealers. There may be some new, old stock still available at resellers)
• Apple-firmware 5870, about US$450
2) "sold in the Apple store" cards
• NVIDIA Quadro 4000 Fermi, about US$1200
• NVIDIA Quadro K5000 Kepler, about US$2500
3) "Mac Edition" cards -- REQUIRE 10.8.3 or later:
• SAPPHIRE HD 7950 3GB GDDR5 MAC Edition, about US$480** Vendor recommends Mac Pro 4,1
• EVGA GTX 680 Mac Edition, about US$600
The cards above require no more than the provided two 6-pin aux power connectors provided in the Mac Pro through 2012 model. Aux cables may not be provided for third-party cards, but are readily available.
If you are Meet ALL of these:
• running 10.8.3 or later AND
• don't care about "no boot screens" etc AND
• can re-wire or otherwise "work out" the power cabling, THEN:
You can use many more cards, even most "PC-only cards".
One more thing--
Flashed PC cards: There are a good many EFI flashed cards that offer boot screens and behave like official cards. "for more information about using and flashing non-Apple cards, please check out the various sites like Netkas (and others) that focus on and discuss what is known and available. (Not supported or endorsed by Apple.)"

• Presario c771us hard drive upgrade

I inherited this laptop from a friend when the harddrive died. It has 1 gig of ram and appears in great condition. I'd like to install a larger-than- original harddrive, then install Win7. I am considering a $76 1TB Western Digital ( "WD10JPVT Scorpio Blue 1TB SATA3 5400rpm 8mb Notebook Bare Drive") for the job.
My questions are : will this drive work in the notebook, and can it be upgraded to Win 7?

Here are the specs for the Compaq Presario C771US Notebook Computer. Here is the HP Software and Driver Downloads page for the C771US computer. Here is HP G7000 Notebook PC and Compaq Presario C700 Notebook PC - Maintenance and Service Guide for the C771US. According to the specs, this model came with 2GB of RAM and a 9.5mm high / 2.5" 5400rpm SATA 160GB hard drive. You may wish to investigate the missing 1GB of RAM.
According to the service guide, the following drive were supported and installed at the factory;
Support for 9.5-mm, 2.5-inch hard drives
Serial ATA
160-GB, 5400-rpm
120-GB, 5400-rpm
80-GB, 5400-rpm
I would consider a smaller hard drive... maybe 500GB or so. There is a better chance of it fitting in the space allotted.
Windows 7 should work without issue, however HP doesn't support this configuration and there hasn't posted drivers for Windows 7 on the support page.

• Hard Drive Upgrade in Vista

I have an IBM T60p with original 90 gig HD. I spent a weekend trying to upgrade to a larger capacity drive. Downloaded several commercial programs. None of them worked properly. I finally found a way to use Vista to complete the task. This procedure works, have a new 320 gig WD 7200 RPM drive working correctly in my computer. Hard drive Upgrade in Windows Vista
This procedure was used on an IBM ThinkPad T60p with 90 gig SATA HD.Machine was upgraded with a Western Digital 320 gig BEKT SATA drive (Scorpio Black).
Before you start:You need to change the BIOS setting for Windows to recognize your new drive.
Reboot and enter BIOS
Select “Config” => Serial ATA (SATA) => SATA Controller Mode Option: => COMPATIBILITY
Save and exit
Review Boot priorities to enable the Boot from CD option
Have a copy of Windows Vista on CD; the version does not matter, you will use this only to boot from CD.
See WD product description at following website
http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.asp?driveid=477
You will need an external USB hard drive to back up your existing hard drive.
It needs to be large enough to back up your existing drive.
Plug in the drive, Windows should recognize it.
Format the external hard drive so it is clean.
Backup Existing Drive
Back up drive C to the external drive using Windows Vista.
Go to Control Panel => Backup and Restore Center
Select the “Back-up files or your entire computer” option
Select “Back up computer
”Windows displays “Where do you want to save the backup”
Select “On a hard disk”
Windows displays hard drives available,
Select the drive you just plugged in
Click “Next”
Review the screen “Confirm your backup settings”
Windows displays “Local Disk (C) (System)” in the bottom window.
Click “Start backup”.
Backup will take 1-2 hours.
When completed, you have a complete image of your drive created by Windows Vista on the external HD
Install new Hard Drive
Shut down the machine.
Install the new hard drive per manufacturer instructions.
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-62826
Boot the computer using the Vista CD.
Once files are loaded, Vista will open
Click “Next”
Click “Repair Your Computer”
Windows displays a window showing operating systems available, the window will be blank.
Click “Next”
Windows displays “Choose a Recovery Option”

Log in normally and check to be sure your programs work.
You now need to tell Vista you have a new drive, and resize the partition to the capacity of the new drive.
Tell Windows to recognize the new drive
Start Menu, L click “Computer”
Drive C displays the stored image with the same capacity of the old drive.
R click on drive C => properties
Select the “Hardware” tab
Highlight drive C
Select the “Properties” tab, bottom right
Click on “Change settings”, bottom left
Click on the “Volumes” tab
Click the “Populate” tab
Windows will now populate the table with the settings for the new drive.
Save the settings and Reboot the computer.
Windows will now recognize the new higher capacity drive.
After reboot
Start Menu, R click “Computer”
Select “Manage”
In the L window, select “Storage” => “Disk Management”
Disk “0” is your new drive
Select Drive C
R click Drive C, select “Extend Volume”
The Extend Volume Wizard will open
Click “Next”
Click “Finish”
The new drive capacity is now operational.
You will now have two partitions, one for Windows, one for programs and data.

I'm also interested if anyone knows. I called the Square Group in London (Nex Oxford Street) but they said they'd get back to me ... but they didn't ...

• Quicksilver 933 Hard Drive upgrade

Hi Guys
I have a 2002 Quicksilver, and I am hoping my trusty G4 will cope with an upgrade of the two 80GB Ultra ATA 100 hard drives.
I would like to install two 250GB ATA drives, but one online store suggests for the IBM (Hitachi) Deskstar 3.5" IDE T7K250 ATA133 a PCI card upgrade as well! and I thought I read in a thread somewhere, that this isn't really needed. The other drive I have seen is the Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250gb Ata100 3.5in 12.6ms 7200rpm 16mb, and this would seem to be an exact match for an upgrade.
I guess I would like to know if I'm on the right track here? Are there any pros and cons of either drive, and if there are any unforeseen pitfalls I could encounter with this upgrade.
I would appreciate any advice
Thanks
ED
G4 Quicksilver + G4 PowerBook + AirPort Extreme Mac OS X (10.4.8) 60GB iPod video and several pet LaCie hard drives

Hi
The Sonnet Tempo/FirmTek SeriTek 1S2 2 port card does seem to be a favourite and highly recommended. The Sonnet is a rebadged version of the FirmTek and marginally more expensive, although I have one and haven't had any problems with it.
Two minor points about the Seagate SATA drives. If I remember correctly they released a range a while ago (the 7200.9 series?) with SSC (spread spectrum clocking) enabled, which caused problems with the native SATA controller in G5s and third party SATA PCI cards. I don't think the 7200.10 series has this issue, but I'd double check.
Also I think the Seagate SATA drives only have the new style SATA power connector, whereas the drives from some other manufacturers also have an old style legacy molex power connector. Consequently you'll need an adapter cable to power it in a Quicksilver. One is included with the Sonnet Tempo anyway, but it does add to the cable clutter.
I personally wouldn't upgrade the processor if you're thinking of getting a MacPro in the near future. If you're going to be using the G4 as a file or archive server, the processor speed shouldn't be that important. The money would probably be better spent on the MacPro.

• Optical drive upgrade. Successful stories. tell me

Hi all
I am looking to upgrade my PB 15 1.5 combo
Specs
to a superdrive with doudle layer burning facilities.
I first though of playing it safe and going through Camcon upgrade services, but their replacement drive isn't fully compatible because of some special apple firmware missing. Although they will be happy to install some equiment that I provide. 1h of labour charged, and they will also upgrade my hd in the process. The deal is not so bad.
So now is the issue of buying the right optical drive, and this is just driving me crasy. grrr
Most of the threads here presents difficult experiences as it is may be difficult.
Lets hear about the good stories at once.
Something in this sort of format will be great.
computer model:
drive model:
Original drive model:
Read/Write/speed:
Finder burning: y/n
iAppl burning: y/n
Short comment:
Remember that I have already read lots of the bad, patches and firmware stories, and I will really want to concentrate to the one working without modification.
Many thanks in advance

UPDATE:
If you have a 1.5GHz model A1106, the same as mine, I can tell everyone that I just successfully upgraded my combo drive to the "current" SuperDrive they used on the last PowerBook, the 15-inch 1.67GHz Double Layer SD model.
I took out the combo drive, model CW-8123-C from Panasonic, and installed the UJ-846-CA double layer SuperDrive into it.
So far so good! In fact, people claim the UJ-846-CA drive works in all PowerBooks (Titanium and up) and iBooks as well (G3 and G4, the dual-USB G3s). But I can't confirm that. I can only confirm that which I did.
Everything is recognized and no special drivers are needed. I did notice, since I also upgraded the hard drive, that in Panther (did a restore from my discs), it recognizes the drive, but doesn't support ANY burning, only reading. In Tiger, plain old 10.4, it says burning is supported, but not by Apple. In 10.4.11, it is "Apple shipped/supported."
And I did the installation myself. I totally went against my recommendations to people (such as in my previous posts above), about how the Aluminum PowerBooks are delicate to work with. I still won't touch my 12-inch PowerBook (maybe later down the road) but these 15-inch 1.5GHz models are easier than the previous 1.5GHz/1.33GHz ones that had a latch/catch over the optical drive.
By the way, the drive I chose was a 160GB Seagate 5400.3 because it has perpendicular recording technology and it's been said to be just as fast as the 100GB 7200RPM drive by Seagate. I thought about the Western Digital 250GB drive that I've been telling people about here on the forums, but I've had good experiences with Seagate and Maxtor, so I stayed with them.
The money saved was a lot!! Had I asked an Apple Authorized Service Provider to do it, it would have run me $1000, at least, for the options I wanted. Hard drive installation, LCD display casing, top case, and optical drive upgrade.
You can get the UJ-846-CA from resellers (both used and new), or on eBay. I got mine on eBay.

I just did this last night, by the way! And you can do it yourself too by going to this guide (you have to have the Model A1106 one... if you have another one, go to the main site and choose the one that matches your model)--

• Could not find the principal resource for user id: paf

I think I have set up iCal server correctly on a MacOSX 10.5.1 server (upgraded from 10.4.x). But regardless of how many different URLs etc I am trying, I can neither access calendars, nor subscribe to them. I am trying both with Safari and Firefox and iCal client on MacOSX 10.5.1.
I have iCal service running.
I have added the user "paf" that have full admin access, and also calendar service is turned on on the server calendar.frobbit.se. Calendar.frobbit.se is one of the hostnames for the server btw.
I have a group called "canusecalendar" that "paf" is a member of.
The access for iCal service on the host is for the group canusecalendar and for the user paf, where paf is administrator.
The closest I have come is when I use a web browser and try to access any URL starting with http://calendar.frobbit.se:8008/. It ask for login, I give the credentials, and in the error log for the iCal service I see the following:

2008-02-10 20:46:57+0100 [-] [caldav-8009] [AMP,client] Could not find the principal resource for user id: paf

I do see tons of postings by people that more or less guess what URIs to use in browsers, for group calendars, in iCal client when connecting to an account or subscribing. Does anyone on this list know of an authoritative list of URLs that one should use here and there? The closest I have come is the "advanced" section of the iCal Administration document from Apple.

Yes, I add users using workgroup manager, although the one I now use was added already in version 10.4 of MacOSX Server. I.e. before I upgraded to 10.5.

• Solid State Drive Upgrade Kit v300a with Windows 8.1 on Envy laptop

I am trying to install the Solid State Drive Upgrade Kit V300a in my new HP Envy with Windows 8.1. This upgrade was listed as an option for this model and was bought with the machine.
The doc lists OS supported, but Windows 8 is not in the list. Is Windows 8 supported?
The included disk labled "Arconis" includes ATIHO user guide pdfs and an HP-Drive-Install-Guide-1.15.13-327pm pdf. The install guide mentions using Arconis. The Arconis user guide says to run "setup" to install Acronis but there is no setup file on the disk. I have chosen the setting to display hidden files and there is nothing on the disk but pdfs. The v300a box claims that it includes Acronis Cloning Software.
How do I install this HP upgrade on my new HP laptop?

• Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro: WiFi doesnt work after driver upgrade

After experiencing Wireless issues I tried to upgrade my Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro 13" with Windows 8.1 64Bit to the latest drivers from the lenovo support site.
Ever since I cannot connect to the WLAN anymore. What puzzles me is that the driver status in the device manager shows a different driver version than what I have installed (uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it doesn't change anything here).
What puzzles me is the Lenovo Website shows driver version 16.6.0.8 (released 25.Jan.2014, see link below), whereas my system display version is 16.6.2.1 (dated 31.10.2013). Hence I thought I have another version from somewhere else on my and removed all driver versions I could find.
Checking driver details I get the follow file versions:
C:\windows\system32\drivers\NETwbw02.sys version 16.6.2.1 Intel, dated 2011
C:\windows\system32\drivers\Netwfw02.dat no version or publisher
C:\windows\system32\drivers\vwifibus.sys version 6.3.9600.16384 Microsoft
Still, whenever I deinstall the driver, install the files from lenovo and click "Detect new device" my system pulls the drivers as listed above and is incapable of connecting to any WiFi.
Windows 8.1. shows no connections available and doesn't connect anymore.
How can I get my WLAN back?
regards

hi Florian,
If Windows Update is configured to automatically fetch updates from Microsoft then the machine most likely have installed the Intel driver update for Intel(R) Wireless N-7260 as discussed in this article (which explains the different driver versions).
Things that you can try:
1. If the machine comes with the Intel(R) Wireless N-7260, navigate to:
- Device Manager
- Network Adapters
- Intel(R) Wireless N-7260 (right click > update driver software)
- Browse my computer for driver software
- Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer (you will then see a list of drivers, check if you have the version 16.6.0.8 from Lenovo and choose it and observe.
2. Restart the machine and boot into the BIOS (by pressing F2 on the Lenovo screen). Once you're in, navigate to the Configuration Tab and ensure Wireless is set to Enabled (if applicable).
- Link to picture
3. Perform a System Restore and choose a date before the issue began. (this will restore the unit to an earlier point in time where wireless connection is working fine)
4. Perform a Refresh / Reset or press the OneKey Recovery button (this will restore the unit to factory settings - ensure that you backup important files first).

• Hard Drive upgrade

I'm considering a hard drive upgrade but i dont know crap about them. I went over to newegg because i heard it was a good site and found this one......
"Western Digital Scorpio Blue WD5000LPVT 500GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Notebook Hard Drive -Bare Drive"
The only problem is, I dont know wheter it is compatible with my Early 2009 13 inch macbook pro..... Should I go with this one or are there better ones out there? I'm not really worried about price. I was aiming to get a 500gb. Thanks.

It is compatilbe if it's a 2.5" notebook SATA II 3.0 Gb/s model. Take Csound1's advice. If you buy a WD drive or any other makers' drives do not purchase any "green" drives as they don't work well in Macs.
If you want better performance get a drive rated for 7200 RPM with as large a cache as possible (typically 16 MBs.) Other makers to consider include Hitachi, Seagate, and SamSung.
If you want faster speed consider the Seagate XT500 hybrid. Or visit OWC and look into their DataDoubler that enables you to replace the optical drive with an SSD (or another HDD.)

• Hard Drive Upgrade - Incorrect Capacity Shown In Disk Utility After Installation

I have an older model Macbook Version 2.1 that had an 80GB hard drive installed. I have just installed a Western Digital Scorpio Black 500GB internal hard drive upgrade and successfully cloned my data over using Carbon Copy Cloner. The problem I have encountered is that only 98.1GB of capacity is shown in Disk Utility for the new hard drive. After starting the computer using my bootable copy via an external USB drive, I formatted the newly installed 500GB drive with the appropriate Apple formatting (e.g. GUID and Mac OS Extended Journaled) but it only shows 98.1GB of space available on the new drive. I was able to successfully clone the information from my bootable back-up of the old drive to the new drive but I just don't have the full 500GB capacity available to me.
What should I do? Is this a problem with the new hard drive or is there something I need to change on my Macbook to "see" the whole capacity of my new drive?
Thanks for your advice,
Dave

Hi Andrew,
When I formatted the new drive did it with 1 partition and it displays a TOTAL of 98.1GB free space (both in Disk Utility and About This Drive). As far as I can tell, the Macbook is treating the new WD drive as if it is only a 98.1GB drive rather than the 500GB drive that it is.
Thoughts?
Dave

• IPod sync problems after hard-drive upgrade/change

Hello all,
Can anyone PLEASE help?
I have just had my hard drive upgraded/changed from the original 640GB drive to a new 2TB drive. I've also had an additional 4GB of RAM added to now give me 8GB RAM.
Absolutely everything else seems to be working fine (unusual for me and I'm often at the end of bad luck in such circumstances). The only thing I'm having problems with is syncing my iPod Classic with iTunes. Incidentally, I have the latest version of iTunes and my iPod software was up to date the last time I checked.
Before I go further, my system specs are:
iMac
24-inch, Early 2009
Processor 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 9400 256 MB
Software OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2 (12C60)
When I connect my iPod Classic, the iPod screen initially shows 'Synchronisation in progress' (or whetver similar wording it actually is)... but this is just very briefly. It then indicates "Connected", and that's the way it stays and doesn't change at all.
It takes time to actually show up in iTunes, and when it does, I now have to very quickly click the iPod button (to bring up the iPod screen on iTunes) before the pointer turns into the spinning beach ball.
Now, it hangs... and hangs... and hangs... and hangs.
During this, I notice that "Manually manage music and videos" is ticked (which I didn't have ticked before), and also 'Enable disc use' is also ticked, although greyed out.
Occasionally, the spinning beach ball will disappear and the pointer will return, but this is very very briefly and I have a split-second to try unticking - first - the "Manually manage music and videos" box and then - later, if I'm lucky - untick the 'Enable disc use' box. However, on the odd occasion I've managed this, I haven't been able to go further except for two occasions when I managed to click "Apply". The iPoid on those to occasions started to update... but went nowhere... it just did nothing.
When the thing finally just hangs and hangs, I eventually have to 'force quit' iTunes and unplug the iPod without first ejecting. There was one other occasion when I managed to - split-second when the spinning beach ball disappeared - to click "eject" and the iPod succesfully did so.
There were a couple of occasions in the past when I had trouble with my iPhone and was told to delete/trash the iPhone photo cache folder. Remembering this, I tried this for the iPod (iPod photo cache) and it made no difference... same situation.
I did notice on one occasion at the beginning of all this that when I managed to unplug my iPod from iTunes, all the album covers were missing from the iPod (although still in iTunes). This was long before I tried deleting the iPod photo cache folder though.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards
BionicDan

First things first the spinning beach ball is usually an indication that Search is going nuts.
Turn off Search entire Library by clicking on the downward pointing arrow to the right of the Magnisying glass and untick Search entire library.
Is your music still in iTunes on your new hard drive or is it only on your ipod?
If it is in your itunes then you should be able to plug in the iPod and uncheck Manually Manage music and sync
If the music is only on the ipod connect up as above click on the device and Drag all the music from your device to the library. then you can uncheck manually manage music and sync as normal

• Hard drive upgrade MK4009GAL

The VGN-UX380N uses a MK4009GAL Hard Drive it is a 1,8 W 54mm x H 5mm x 71mm Zif 40 connector is there a 120 GB hard drive replacement for it that will work?
I was looking at the MK1214GAH with Zif40 connector also but the hight is 8mm is there a good one in 5mm that is 120 GB?

Notebook manufacturer must offer support for hardware upgrade and give you info about compatible devices so I think it is wrong place for your question.
We can discuss about Toshiba 1,8 HDDs but I don't know if this will help you.
I have 60GB MK6006GAH HDD with Zif40 connector and use it with older Portege model.
To be honest I don't think Toshiba has 120GB HDD with the same connector. 120 GB has micro-SATA connector.
Talk with notebook manufacturers hotline and ask for help.
