Resources for movies for iPod Video 60Gb?

I've just acquired the iPod Video and absolutely love it! Are there places you can download content for it, besides Apple.com which seems very limited at this point?
Also, I'd love to import my favorite DVDs, but I don't know if that's a legal use of the rights to a DVD purchased.

If you want a really organized package for ripping your dvds into .mp4 "ipod" format use the dvd Decrypter and Videora ipod conveter. she only needs to do that if he needs to change the format. For example if she recorded the clips via her phone and it's not in a format iTunes will play. For example if I have a .wmv iTunes won't touch it until I convert it. She could also be talking about video that she recorded on a DVD camcorder that burns the video to a DVD not a memory card. ITunes doesn't convert everything.
She's transfered the clips to her ipad and the ipad won't play them. So she needs to get them to a m4v or mp4, and you use format converters for that. Not apps but something on the computer.

I need to know what is the mA realy needed by a iPOd Video 60Gb.
I make this question because I have a laptop with a USB-2 PCMCIA adapter and if the mA need is not so big I don't need to travel with the power adapter.

I use a usb hub for my 60gb ipod and it won't charge unless I have the power supply hooked up to it. Yours seems like a similar situation.
You could try some experiments while at home to see how your setup reacts. Run your ipod's battery down, hook it up to the card without the power supply, and see if it charges up in a reasonable time.

Reason for Movements for selected movement type in MB1A/B/C

All,
When a user goes to MB1A, MB1B, MB1C and selects a movement type is there a way to show only the reasons for movements for that selected movement type?
Currenlty, when the users clicks F4 or wants to view the options available for reasons for movements, it shows them EVERYONE movement type and its associated reason for movement. The list is HUGE. So, I want to know to shorten the list to show only the applicable ones for the movement type the user has selected.
I know the user can enter the movement type and the list gets filtered but this is a manual step the user must perform. Is there any way the system can restrict the reasons for movements based off the Movement Type already selected by the user?
Please let me know how to show only those reason codes for the selected movement type in transactions MB1A, MB1B, and MB1C.

To shorten the list you can select the movemnt types the user requirs and make his/her personal list so when he.she do f4 onlt personal list will be displaed.
U can create personal list by doing the F4 and put cursor on movement type and below will be icon to add into personal list.after selecting all the movement types. close the window and adain do f4 u will only see the entries of u r personal list.

I have an Apple iPod Video 60GB. I want to put a M4V file that I have on my iPod. Where on my computer can I put the M4V file so it will sync in next time I synch my iPod? Is there a place I can drag and drop it?

Since, the iPod Video 60GB operate with a harddrive, is there any maintenance required on the harddrive, like defragging or checkdisk, etc.?

Convert avi to iPod mp4, mov to iPod video, mp3/mp4 to aac for iPod & iPhon

I think this is too simple, but can't find a better one.
1. Download iPod Video Converter for Mac at http://www.download.com/iPod-Video-Converter-for-Mac/3000-22004-10717657.html?tag=pdpprod and run it on your Apple computer
2. Load files you'd like to convert
Add the video or audio files you'd like to convert by clicking "Add" button in the main interface.
3. Set output format
In "Profile" drop-down menu, you may select output format. The software allows setting different output formats according to different files.
Tips: by selecting iPod format (*.mp4) in "Profile" drop-down menu, the software will output mp4 file playable on your iPod.
4. Set General conversion mode (Optional)
After selecting certain output format, you can choose ‘General’ tab on the right top which will show its general standard. By clicking certain settings such as 'Video Quality', ' Audio Quality', 'Output filename', you may set it.
Tips: If you like, select the output folder by clicking the ‘Browse...’ button.
5. Preview and Trim function
After selecting a video file, you can have a preview of the file on the right bottom preview window. And you can set Start/End of the output files as you like by clicking ‘Trim’ button and edit in the Trim pop-up window.
6. Set Advance conversion mode (Optional)
After selecting certain output format, you can choose ‘Advance’ tab on the right column which will show its advance standard. By clicking certain settings such as 'Start Time', 'Video Size', 'Bit rate' and so on, you may set it.
7. Start converting
Finally, click "Convert" in the File menu to start converting. And after a successful conversion, the info "Completed" will show.

I bought Quicktime pro so I could convert my AVI files to watch them on my iPod video.Purchasing QT Pro does not add any more AVI support to QT than you have with the basic player. By this I mean, if you can watch it, you cant convert it. In addition, since some AVI components are not available for the Mac at all and others are m=not available for OS X, you are automatically doomed to not being able to convert "all possible" AVI format combinations.
The program converts (exports) about half the movie and then pops up a window that says it needs "more components" to finish the job.Since you indicate you can convert half the file, it sounds as if you may have installed a proprietary codec which does work but have failed to pay the registration fee to completely "unlock" the export codec. Suggest you find out which codec you are using (e.g. Flip4Mac, DivX, etc.), find out how much they want, and decide if you want to pay up.

My best advice would be to simply not use these files and allow them the dignity of a long overdue death. However, if you must use them, then learn how to distinguish the different audio and video codecs that can be used in combination in this file container. (Us things like the Finder "Get Info," QT "Show Movie Info." QT "Show Movie Properties," or similar media player windows to for this purpose.) Next, google the codec to see if Mac components are available. Lastly, install the available codecs most needed. The problem here is if you install too few, then some files will likely not play. Install to many codecs and usually create conflicts which also prevent files from playing. (I.e., you may need to determine which components are "essential" to you and which you can live without).

How do I search for movies in the videos app

We just got an iPad 2 and I can't see how to search for a movie in the videos app.
We do not have any movies on the iPad, but wIth home sharing running I can see our extensive movie library. However the only navigation is swiping up and down through a list of cover art. With 400+ movies in iTunes it can take a while to scroll down to Zombieland or Zulu... Spotlight doesn't search the home sharing stuff.
I don't even see movie names in text under the cover art, or the normal quick scroll letter down e side of the page like you see in other iOS apps. It just seems very un-Apple and un-iOS.
I feel like I am missing something, some setting to make the movies interface more user friendly.
I'd appreciate any help or advice here

ITunes doesn't work after I installed it for my new iPod video

Hi,
This is my problem:
When I connect my iPod video to my computer( windowsXP) iTunes doesn't open up. If I start iTunes manually it's says this error:(normally in dutch) The needed software for communication with iPod isn't installed properly. Plz install again, so the software on iPod can be installed.
So I reinstall iTunes, but this error still shows up.+ When I check on ITunes in one of the menus, it says: no iPod connected, but my iPod is connected to my computer.
Can anyone find an explanation for this?

Nike + for use with Ipod Video

can i use the nike + with my ipod video. i already have the nike 180 for use with the chip. i bought them because they were great runing shoes and just found out i could put the chip in them for $35. i have a video but not a nano aand i would really like to use the chip to track my progress. buying a nano would cost 200+ and i was just wondering if i can use it with my video. thanks

I'm sorry, but this doesn't make any sense. There are products made to run with iPod videos
It is what it is.
The Nike+iPod product is for the Nano only. Doesn't matter why.
If you know of other products that do the same thing as the Nike+iPod product, and it works for the 5th Gen iPod... then go buy one of those.

That's not exactly what was said. The user who posted that indicated that Apple is only promoting the use of the Nike+iPod in conjuntion with the Nano.
Well, obviously, there isn't any harm for people to excersise with this product if there are accessories for that purpose.
Doesn't change the fact that the Nike+iPod product is for the Nano only.

Support for new dead iPod Video?

I just received from Apple the new iPod Video last Thursday. I was familiar with earlier versions and was impressed with the video quality. I loaded tons of songs and thousands of pictures. Downloaded Desperate Housewives since there is nothing else worth watching from the Apple store. The iPod started turning itself off within 1 day. The only way to turn it back on was to press center and menu keys. It worked for a day or so.
I called Apple Support and was asked to do a restore from the original computer, which happened to be PC desktop at home. I did, nothing changed.
I am Technology Coordinator at the school where we have about 450 Macs so I am fairly familiar with Apple support and technology part.
My mom died and I flew to Europe on Saturday. Before that I loaded tons of pictures and videos to the laptop to show my family. I bought protective case and do not even have a scratch yet but the iPod died. I took iBook with me and have many PC laptops around here but iPod can not be revived. I tried everything to reset, restore that thing. Hard drive does not spin, screen is black, it does not even drain any power from USP port. I can not get to any of my pictures out of it. I should have transferred them all to the iBook before but that would have erased the existing old l-Tunes Library. Now I am SOL.
I purchased Apple Protection plan for the iPod so I felt safe. Well, I filled out the online case now, got the numbers and nothing happened. Promised email never came, dead silence. Tried again, same thing. Well, I am not going to call Apple Support from Europe and spend a fortune to wait for my sorry turn. Needless to say I am little PO'd.
I live online and can process tons of school emails from Europe but I cant get to Apple.
Major pain.

iPod battery doesn't charge.
Sometimes if the battery gets completely discharged, simply connecting to a USB port on the computer doesn't supply enough power to "kick start" the charging process. In theory it should do, but yours seems to be a common problem.
Do you have access to a wall charger?

I use PQ DVD. It is easy to use just open it up, insert your DVD, hit play on the interactive menu and press record. It will send the file to a pre-determind file and then just open iTunes and drag it accross. As simple as that.

What are the movie to iPod video settings?

I wonder, what are the exact video settings corresponding to selecting "Movie to iPod" when exporting?
The settings left to consider for Movie to MPEG-4 when using H.264 320 x 240 are:
Bitrate: ? kbps
Optimized for: CD / Fetch / Stream
Frame rate
Sync every ? frames
And the advanced video settings:
Limit description to: Main, Extended, Baseline
Encoding: Best / Fast

After a bit of testing I think that a video rate of 622 kbps is used when selecting the internal Movie to iPod export option.
This results in 750 kbps when audio is 128 kbps.
Short videos in iTunes Music Store use 622 kbps video rate (Michael Jackson Billie Jean and Bad, Pixar For the Birds).
Longer videos used 570 kbps video rate (Michael Jackson Thriller, ABC - Lost).
However my original question was what settings to use to match the Movie to iPod export option.
