Responding to an email always with the same account

Hello,
Is it possible to have 2 email accounts on iPad but reply to messages on both accounts using just one of those accounts?
Thx

Yes, you can choose which account to reply from. See quote below from the iPad User Guide for IOS 7.
“Send a message from a different account. Tap the From field to choose an account.”

Need to know of a method / process that can be used to send the same msg to all those appearing in my email listings with the same extension after the "@" sign in their address(es) on my macbook [Snow Leopard].

If you simply want to send the exact same message to everyone in your address book with emails ending in "@whatever.com", you can do the following:
Create an email with subject, message and attachments but no addresses
    Open Address Book, All Contacts
Search in Address Book for @whatever.com
Select the results and drag them into the To: or Bcc: field of the email. If Bcc: then put your email address in the To: field.
    Send the email
This will not personalize the emails (such as with "Dear firstname:" at the top of the message) but it will let you send an idential message to everyone who meets your criteria.

  • How do I set up two email address on the same account?

Using Mail in Mac OS X 10.6.2 and moving to Mac for the first time, I have been unable to set up two email addresses on the same account. Entering them, separated by commas, as advised in the Help does not seem to work. I have tried making them both the same password and have tried separating the passwords with a comma but no luck. Unable to set up another account for the second address because it correctly tells me that the account already exists.
    Is there a way?
    Thanks for any help.

After a comprehensive trial and error session, using a new Guest Account each time to be sure of no contamination from the previous trial, I have finally cracked it!
The problem was logging on to the outgoing server.
Setting up the first account was fairly straightforward but if I allow Mail to do it automatically I am unable to send because Mail has defaulted to 'Authentication Required' when my server does not require it. Setting the account manually without authentication enables send and receive to work OK.
If i try to set up the second account automatically, Mail crashes.
If I set it up manually and choose 'No Authentication', Mail crashes.
If I set it up manually and choose 'Authentication Required' and enter the full email address as the User Name together with password, Mail crashes.
If I set it up manually and choose 'Authentication Required' and enter the first part of the email address together with password, Mail crashes.
However, if I set it up manually and choose 'Authentication Required' and enter the first part of the email address as User Name and no password, Mail accepts it and sets up the account.
At this point the account receives mail but cannot send it.
If I go into the Mail preferences and try to edit the outgoing server details, Mail will not accept no Authentication.
I eventually found that if I uncheck the 'Always Use This Server' box, all account then use the server on the first account, which is correctly set up.
Now I have my four email accounts all able send and receive.
One little concern remains. In Outlook Express I could look at the properties of a received email and see what address it had come from, together with many other details. I haven't found out yet whether this can be done in Mail. I just wonder whether if I reply to some email, it will appear to have come from a different address from the one it was sent to.
Thanks again for all the inputs.

  • I want to create a second library with the same account on a separate hard drive....

    Hi,
I am running out of room on my iMac to store all of my iTunes music and video. I want to create a second library with the same account on a separate hard drive. Will iTunes Match match both libraries ? Will I be able to acess both libraries from all my devices? Can iTunes Match merge them together so I can have easy access to everything?
    Thanks for any advice.

Unfortunately, you can't.  The primary address for your iCloud account must be a non-Apple email account.  The only exception to this is for former MobileMe subscribers who migrated to iCloud when MobileMe closed, which was 18 months ago.

Also, I was wondering why they took my money even when it did not finish downloading let alone get downloaded?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.

  • Will iTunes 10 & iTunes 11 work together? If not, how do I combine 2 libraries with the same account?

My 2005 iMac (which can't be updated to Snow Leopard or Mountain Lion and so is stuck with iTunes 10) has thousands of my songs, over 80GB of music mostly from CDs and other uploads/downloads.  In 2008 we got an iMac for the family room; somehow although we have the same iTunes account for that computer, we started fresh with no tracks, and built up its own library for family use.  Now we've bought two iPhones which aren't recognized by the '08 iTunes/Mac OS, so I want to upgrade the '08 iMac (the only one I can) and I have the Snow Leopard software to do so.
But I'm concerned that once the two computers have different versions of iTunes, I will lose the ability to home-share the music library from the '05 iMac on the '08 iMac, and because of that I won't be able to store any of my older Mac's tracks on the iCloud or access them on my iPhone.  (Of course I don't want to have to pay for 80GB+ on the cloud!)
Has anyone got two versions of iTunes on two computers with the same account and are you able to home-share together and access tracks on your iPhones from an older version?
What do Apple users recommend?  I'm thinking my best bet might be to combine the two libraries, which as I said are on the same account, but I don't know how to go about doing this.  How much time would it take with 80GB?  (I could probably do without 15% or 20% of those tracks, but it's still a lot, I don't know if it's instantaneous or if it uploads each track one at a time, I can imagine that taking two days.)
The older Mac's tracks, the 80GB, are the ones I really want, it took years to collect and upload all that, finding photos for some of the more esoteric albums/songs, etc.  The newer Mac only has 2.5GB in its iTunes and I guess it wouldn't be the worst thing if I had to reload those, if the 80GB library had to wipe out the 2.5GB one.
Thanks so much to anyone who can help me!  If I can start this tonight and have it run overnight (if necessary) that'd be great, otherwise I'm hoping I can get this done Sunday.  By the way, technologically, I have the '05 iMac hooked up to a 1st Gen Time Capsule and the '08 iMac getting WiFi from that.

Thank you for replying.  Both of the accounts are Admin accounts.  The Libraries are kept in the user/music/itunes/itunes media folder on each account.  However, I do use multiple iTunes Libraries on my Account1.  One of the Libraries I use in Account1 is on a separate internal HD.  However, the other Libraries I use in Account1 are stored in user/music/itunes/itunes media folder on the main HD (which hosts both Account1 and Account2).  It doesn't seem to matter whether I am using an iTunes Library on an external drive or the main drive in Account1, I still get the same problem: only account1 library will load.  AppleTV sees that the Account2 Library is there, but it won't load it.

  • I have a IPhone 5 and Iphone 5s. Both are set up with the same account ID and running IOS 8.0.2. When the phones are connected to the same Wifi at home, both phones will ring when someone call in to one of the phone.  Anyway to solve this problem?

I have a IPhone 5 and Iphone 5s, each phone is activited with a different service provider. Both are set up with the same account ID and running IOS 8.0.2. When the phones are connected to the same Wifi at home, both phones will ring when someone call in to one of the phone.  Hence you do not know exactly which line the caller called.  If you answered using the wrong phone, then anyone calling the other number will not get through.  Anyway to solve this problem?

    Hey David Koh TP,
Thanks for the question. It sounds like your devices are set up to use continuity together. Specifically, it sounds like you are signed into the same Apple ID in FaceTime, and have iPhone Cellular Calls enabled. To resolve your issue, simply disable this setting:
Connect your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch using Continuity
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6337
    Turn off iPhone cellular calls
To turn off iPhone Cellular Calls on a device, go to Settings > FaceTime and turn off iPhone Cellular Calls.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • HT1495 I have just purchased a second ipod and have 2 computers can i use one ipod on each computer with the same account. I have a different playlist on my second computer. Thanks,

I have just purchased a second ipod and have two computers w7 and xp, can i use one on each computer with the same account. I have a different playlist on my second computer. Thanks.

Sorry to ask, how do I do it please. I have my first ipod with the same account on both computers that have different libraries one of which I am building now. Do I have to de-authorise my original ipod on the computer that I want to use my new ipod on with the new library and then register my new ipod. I would rather do this than have 2 libraries on one itunes, but keep the same account details.

Is it possible to use different iOS devices with the same account of the gamecenter? in that case, can two people play a game with the same account and add both scores to the same leaderboard nickname?

  • If I have a Photography plan, can I also select an Single App plan with the same account?

So can I have at the same time two plans?
I don't need for every apps, only Photoshop and Illustrator.

    Hi Barpaff,
Yes, you can add illustrator with the same account. So, you will be having two applications.  1) Creative Cloud Photography Plan and 2) Creative Cloud Illustrator single app.
You can add as many as single application in the same account but application should be different.
Let us know if you need more information on this.
    Thanks,

  • New iPad with the same account as older one

I will buy a new iPad mini for my son. Currently, I have iPad2 with several payed apps and games among other. I would like to keep new iPad with the same account and to transfer only games to new iPad. In that case I would like to be responsible for buying new apps for both iPads. Also, I would like to know could I backup two iPads to the same computer and same iTunes library?

As you said, Family Sharing would need iOS 8 on both iPads.  You can go to the App Store and click on each app in your purchases, to check that each of your necessary apps are compatible with iOS 8, but the vast majority will be so that should not be too much of a concern.  The easiest way for you to carry out this entire operation is through Family Sharing, once both iPads are on iOS 8, all you would have to do is go into the App Store from the new iPad and click "purchases" which will now show your name as a family member and allow access to all your previously purchased apps that allow family sharing, including the games.  Again, in App Store you can check that each of the game apps allow Family Sharing, by touching on the icon of the app and scrolling to the details area it will say "Family Sharing: Yes/No".  It will be free to download any previous purchases to the new iPad.  To answer your other question, yes you can back up two iPads to the same iTunes Library, they have different serial numbers and are recognized as separate devices, for ease of use it is recommended to uncheck automatic syncing on the new device for music, photos, and more.  See below excerpt from the Family Sharing link above for your options with Apple ID's depending on your sons age:
Kids under 13 can have an account, too.
Now kids under 13 can have their own Apple IDs. As a parent or legal guardian, the family organizer can create an Apple ID for a child and add the child to the family group automatically. Ask to Buy is turned on by default, and the organizer can also limit the content kids have access to on their devices through Restrictions on an iOS device or parental controls in OS X and iTunes.

  • Using iphone 3GS and iphone 4 with the same account

I have an iphone 3GS 32GB and yesterday i bought an iphone 4 32GB. I want to know how can i transfer everything from the "3GS" to "4" without loosing any data from applications i had already stored in "3GS". I also would like to know if it is ok to use the two phones with the same iTunes account and if it is possible to use applications i had purchased for the first phone to the second, or i need to buy the applications again.
    Thank you in advance

    Welcome to the discussions,
After you set up your new phone, iTunes will ask you if you want to set it up "as new iphone" or restore it from an existing backup, which in your case would be the latest 3GS backup. So you can use this backup to restore all compatible settings and data to your new phone. See what's inside a backup here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
You can use more than one device in iTunes with the same account, and iTunes will remember the settings for each of those. Applications can also be used on more than one devices, but you'll have to use the same iTunes account.
