Response: Creative Vado HD Pocket Video Cam Software v2.00.09 Released!

Since they don't allow responses to Firmware Posts in this forum.....here's a new thread.
So what is this Software exe supposed to do?
- Does it upgrade the VadoCentral software on the Vado unit's
- Does it install the VadoCentral software on our PC?
Or....is it just to reinstall the same version VadoCentral software for those that had it suddenly disappear from their Vados?
I ran the install, didn't notice anything install on my PC, and the VadoCentral software exe is still dated 4/2/2008. I should have looked at the version prior to running this mysterious software release.

  • Vado HD pocket video cam

My new Vado camera just keeps showing this message..... !!STORAGE ERROR!! Pressed DELETE to format...... and is basically stuck in this message. I can't turn it on or off or delete or anything. Plus I am seeing a lot of posts in this area about Vado and Vista which is what I have. Does Vado not work with Vista (32-bit)? Plz note I am computer illiterate - but I got sucked into thinking that this Vado thing looked so easy even I could do it :-( Can anyone out there help me? Thanks

    Hi Maryvw,
Can you remove the battery to see if you can reset it's Also try running the firmware update.

  • SONY HDD Video CAM Software in-compatibility w/MacBook

I've just purchased a SONY hard drive video camera(DCR- SR60). It came with software that is not compatible with my MacBook. The handbook suggestion is to purchase Mac compliant Pixela software: Capty MPEG Edit EX (video editing software) and Capty DVD/VCD 2(DVD authoring software).
I've not seen much good press on Pixela. Anyone got a better idea or a comment on the suggested software.

As Troy mentions, iMovie and iDVD are included with your Mac and much easier and more powerful than they are given credit for. Try them.
There are also support forums for those apps should you need them. iMovie is used to create to movie and that forum is found HERE. iDVD is use to create the menus and put that movie into a DVD format, then burn it to disk and that forum can be found HERE.

  • Conflict between Video Cam and Paper Port software for scanner

HiHave purchased a Video IM Pro Cam and that works fine, but when I open my Paperport software to use my ordinary Visioneer scanner, the video cam comes on and the creative twain screen opens and prevents me from using my PaperPort Twain and ordinary scanner.Any solutions please?Eric

MMM... You have to remember when a 3rd party program/company uses Quicktime as part of support for their program. And Apple decides to up grade a program (Quicktime). Thus breaking this third party program. It isn't Apples fault.
What would happen if Apple decided to not support Quicktime after version 7. And then move on to a whole new scheme for a movie player. Is it Apples fault if it breaks non-Apple product. I don't think so...
I think version 7 of Quicktime is a whole new rewrite. So the people who makes this program you have, that no longer works needs to fix it. Apples not going to write a fix for them.
Don't hold your breath. Get a program that you know will support Quicktime for a long time. Meaning an Apple product.

  • How to install software (on CD) for Sony DCR-SR68 video camera on my 2009 MacBook Pro

How do I install software for a Sony DCR-SR68 video camera on my 2009 MacBook Pro? The manual that came with the camera says the software cannot be installed on "a Mackintosh", that I should contact Apple.

    BrianKeyes wrote:

I think that's pretty clear, don't you? (And, if it does say "Mackintosh", I'll eat my bowler hat.)
You can't use the supplied software with Mac OS X. Either install Windows on your Mac, if you wish to use this software, or find out (eg, by googling) what other Mac users do with this camera.

  • I cannot install the component for QuickTime to convert videos done by a Sony video camera. My iMac tells me that software is designed for previous versions of Os x. Any ideas?

    Any ideas?

Ok, so after like 4 days of going through all these different issues, I figured out that several programs weren't downloading, and it was an issue with my wireless connectivity messing up the digital signatures, so if you plug in your comp to the modem and delete your temp files, it should start to work!

  • Capture using software Video Camera

    Hello,
I want to record screeb actions and insert them in my webhelp
project. These are the steps I followed:
    1. Double click on the software video camera tool
    The software video camera opens
    2. Define the capture area
The help instructs that I should click on the "Record" button
once this has been done. However the Record and Stop button appear
dimmed and Iam unable to take the screen captures. am I missing
    something?
    Thanks
    CP.

    Hi CP
I stand to be corrected, but I believe that little tool can't
handle the newer screen color depths. I think the tool came about
back when it was a luxury for some to have a display that was
capable of running 256 colors. So it expects a maximum of 256
    colors.
You should probably investigate Adobe Captivate for this
    purpose.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Uploading Creative Webb cam software.

While uploading Creative Web cam software, I received an error message indicating that the installation was cancled due to a "likely" Apple Quick time error. The error is not specifically stated.
The message added that microsoft had researched the problem, but currently there are no solutions.
Can anyone provide insight into this problem?

What do you mean by "uploading Creative... software"? Do you mean you're trying to install it on your computer? If that's what you're referring to, perhaps this web page from Creative will help.

  • Cisco video camera monitoring software from remote location

    Hello
What is the best way to use the  Cisco video camera monitoring software from remote location.
I am talking about the AVMS / SWVMS software.
I am thinking of either a vpn tunnel or Remote Desktop (Terminal Services).
I would like to use the vpn tunnel, but am afraid that the encryption/decryption of all data will drastically slow down the data throughput.
    THanks,
    Cliff
    CCO: clifford.gormley

    Hi Clifford,
Thank you for posting. I use the AVMS software remotely and it works good. At first I changed the http ports of each camera and forwarded those ports in the router. I set up the cameras in the remote AVMS software with the WAN IP address and port number. That worked quite well. I then decided to try to reach the cameras through a VPN tunnel. I found that it worked perfectly and I was able to view up to 6 cameras. Your results will vary depending on how much bandwidth you have at each end. The important thing is the upload speed at the camera end of the tunnel. I have anywhere from 3-4 Mbps at any given time for the upload speed at the camera side and 30-40 Mbps download speed at the AVMS server side. I have also used UltraVNC to view the AVMS server through the tunnel and that worked well. Note that if you view the AVMS software using RDP you will see a black screen where the video should be. This is a limitation of RDP, not the software.
Please reply if you have any questions.

  • If I download a video from my video camera to a new (current 1/12) iMac 21 inch, how can I burn it to a DVD using the computer itself. Is this possible? Do I need to buy additional software. Two salespeople at the Apple were a little confused about this.

If I download a video from my video camera to a new (current 1/12) iMac 21 inch, how can I burn it to a DVD using the computer itself. Is this possible? Do I need to buy additional software. Two salespeople at the Apple were a little confused about this. Thank you.

The DVD recorder I'm referring to is one I've use for years. It is not attached to my aging iMac in any way. I simply play the video from my camcorder (mini-dv tape based Canon HV20)  into the DVD recorder and create a DVD that can be played in any DVD player. I can only do minimum editing so what goes in is what I get. This has been fine for creating dupes of the various things I shoot.
If I buy a new iMac (21 inch), I'd like to be able to download the video to the iMac through iMovie, work with it to whatever degree I wish, and burn it to a DVD that can also be played in any DVD player -- or to use as a master to dupe copies.
What I'm understanding from you and others is that this would be possible if Apple had included iDVD in the software that comes with the iMac, or if I purchase the iLife Family Pack, or buy the correct version of Toast. I'm hoping I can persuade Apple to sell me an iMac with iDVD installed.
Essentially I want to move from a basic process of creating DVD copies to the more sophisticated process of creating one from an iMac.
Thank you again for your help and wisdom.

  • What video cameras are compatible with mac without having to download software

What video cameras are compatible with mac computers without having to download software?

Did you try connecting your camera to the computer USB port via the supplied USB interface cable instead of plugging in the SD card directly?
No driver is needed to connect your computer to your camera.

Regardless of whether or not you 'like' downloading and installing software on your computer, Canon DOES HAVE software available for your specific camera and it IS compatible with recent versions of the Mac OS X operating system. Maybe try that instead of whining here about it not being compatible.

  • Compaq Preasario CQ60-214EM. YouCam101 software. Skype doesnt find video camera.

Above laptop was originally running Windows Vista. Youcam software works ok, but when running skype, Skype software does not find the internal video camera.
Have gone to Options/video, but no camera listed.
    Bios upgrade done.
    Intel video drivers upgraded.
    Running latest version of Skype.
Plugged in an external 'Skype compatable' video camera. Still no camera listed  under tools/options/video
Upgraded operating system to Windows 7 Home Premium, and issue remains.
How do I resolve this issue please.
Note. Skype does not detect either an internal or external video camera. Unable to select internal or external video camera under the options tab.

Hello @TwoLeftFeet, welcome to the HP Forums.
It appears that you're having an issue with skype seeing any webcam on the notebook. I will try to assist you with this.
As the webcam works with the youcam software, there has to be a conflict with Skype and it "seeing" imaging devices.
Here is a document for you to read over and steps to try:
    Troubleshooting Skype Performance Problems
To go along with that, you can also give this Microsoft utility a try:
Automatically diagnose and fix Skype audio and webcam issues
Please let me know the results
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.

I purchased the Panasonic HC-V500 video camera and it came with the HD AE 4.0 software. Do I still need to install this disc on my MAC or can I upload video directly to my computer by using i-frame and the i-movie program?

    Hi glhiker,
Your video clips will import directly into iMovie.  It's a great video editing program.  I'll include some quick video tutorials to get you started below:
    Apple - Support - Videos
When you open the iMovie application, click HELP > iMOVIE HELP on the menu bar to access the manual for the program.  One of the first topics is Importing Video.
Down the road, you may be interested in our professional video editing application, called Final Cut Pro X.
