Responses from Distributed Forms

Is there a way to send me an email notification once I receive a submitted response from a distributed form
using Acrobat?

Is the form being returned as a pdf or xml?  You can distribute the form, which will set up a pdf portfolio for your returned forms.  When forms are returned via email, you double click on the attachment and it puts into the portfolio.  From the portfolio you can export one or more forms (data) into an excel file.
To export the whole form, click on File, Export and choose the file type you want.  However, if you just want the form data, I would suggest you distribute the form to create the pdf portfolio for that.

  • Format of response from distributed form

    Hi guys,
I have been working with a trial of Acrobat X Pro and Livecycle ES II, to determine if we can use it effectively to replace paper forms in our workplace. We have also recently deployed Alfresco, an open source CMS, which is very tightly integrated with what we would like to do with Adobe forms. I am a little confused though, at trying to figure out what controls the format of the response.
With the forms I create in liveCycle, when distributed, the response seems to be either a pdf or an xml file. The first few forms I designed arrived on the server as pdf's when I tested them (which is exactly what I wanted). The last couple I have created (using liveCycle) however, seem to always arrive as xml. I have gone through every page of the Distribute... wizard with what I feel is rather a fine toothed comb but cannot find anywhere to control this.
Today I have discovered that Alfresco is unable to parse the form fields in the liveCycle PDF's (this is to do with the Tika parser and PDFBox, but isn't really related to this disccussion directly), so I have switched to Acrobat which, in my testing so far, does create forms parsable by Tika. When I distribute the form from Acrobat though, the responses always seem to be in xfdf format (which seems to boil down to xml anyway).
I am sure that actual PDF's were created at some point. I still have test distribution folders full of pdf responses. Does anyone know what I am missing which controls the response??

    Hi Bill,
I know the data format would be alot more useful if we were just needing to get the data into a database or some other process or application, but the need here is moreso for the actual PDF. This is also required to be an automated process, so importing the data files into acrobat manually is not an option.
When you say are we collecting data by email or web script, I am not 100% sure I understand. When we choose distribute form... there are three choices - collect responses on Acrobat.com, collect responses in my email inbox, and collect choices in our own server. We choose the latter of the three (own server) and specify the CIFS path to a folder on the Alfresco server.
Essentially all I need here is to find out which setting allows me to have pdf's (not xml or fdf or xfdf) collected in the responses folder when the form is distributed using the "own server" option. When I go through the distribute wizard, the only options I set seem to be: How the data is collected (own server), the path to the server, whether or not to collect name and email and the server profile name. (although now I think of it, I believe that originally I was leaving the "collect name and email" checkbox ticked originally when I was seeing actual PDF's collected, so I may try that now. If that's the setting controlling the response format though I would be surprised and find it incredibly unintuitive).

  • Acrobat XI hangs when adding a response from distributed form, when specific form field is filled

As the question says, when using the distribute form functionality of Acrobat, it hangs at the step of importing or adding a filled form, when a specific field on the form is filled.  It happens whether the tracker automatically detects it when I open the distributed form and asks me to add it, or I manually try to add it in the responses form. Here's the screenshot of when I tried manually adding it.  The first line is the one that hangs and is missing all fields except that "Approved" check box.  But it's the last field "ApprovedDate" that makes it hangs if it's filled in the form.  The Progress dialog just stays there forever and I can't click cancel.  When it tries to add it automatically, nothing appears on the screen, the form just stays open and the tracker doesn't come up.  I'm on Windows 7, Acrobat XI Pro.  I can send you the form if needed.
Edit: I investigated further and there were Java scripts associated with that date field.  These would have been added while creating the form in Acrobat; I don't remember how exactly, but I only meant to validate the date format.  I've removed all the scripts and reset the desired date format on the field and it seems to work now.

I use Mavericks and Acrobat XI. I haven't had any issues so far.

  • Maximum number of responses using distributed forms?

What is the maximum number of responses allowed with distributed forms?

That depends on how many people have access to the form. If you distribute it to 500 or fewer recipients, then you can collect and use data from any number of responses. If more than 500 recipients, you can use data form no more than 500 responses. By "distributed forms" I'm assuing you're using the Distribute Form feature of Acrobat, which Reader-enables the form in the process.

  • Read responses from a form

How do I read responses from a completed PDF form?
I used adobe acrobat pro extended 9 to create a form. Was confused at the end as all the methods for publishing the form and collecting responses were more involved than I wanted.  I selected the email option.
As a test I made a copy of the blank form.  Then completed it, saved the resulting document.  How do I read the responses from a completed PDF form document?
I want to manually distrubute the PDF form document. Then manually receive the completed form document back. ( copy it to an "in box" folder ). Then use a program of some sorts ( the adobe SDK? ) to automatically pull the response data out of the completed form.
    thanks,

Thanks a lot.   I understand better now. I opened the completed PDF with acrobat and the response data was automatically associated with the original document.
    Very nice.

  • How do I import multiple responses from outside Forms Central into a form at one time?

I created a survey in Word, used Adobe to make into a fillable pdf, emailed it to the prospective respondents, and I have received many emailed responses.  I have uploaded my original form to Adobe Forms and now I would like to upload those responses into Forms Central to make use of its reporting capabilities.  How can I import all of my repsonses into Forms Central?

    Hi,
I don't mean to hijack this thread, but Randy had mentioned a bug in Chrome regarding copy/paste. I've been searching for hours for a solution, but nothing on Google Chrome and c/p for the fillable area of a pdf document. Google forums have not yielded anything about fillable forms, so I'm hoping an Adobe forum would be more knowledgable.
I have a fillable form online where the fillable area cannot be pasted into or copied out of while using Google Chrome. Note that the text already on the document can be c/p'ed. You can see it here: http://www.centralcallegal.org/eictaxcampaign/Coverform.pdf   This is a form for our self-help computer kiosks which use Google Chrome. The form is designed so users can copy and paste their own info into the cover sheet so there won't be any typos.
Without looking at alternative methods of using the form (i.e. saved on desktop), is there a way to fix this copy/paste issue? It is definitely a Google Chrome issue, as c/p works fine in IE and Mozilla. Thank you.

  • Receive responses to distributed form as non-fillable PDF.

    Hello everyone,
I have recently found the form distribution feature in acrobat 9 to be very useful in obtaining new patient information at the doctor's office where I work.  I prepare a template new patient demographic information pdf file, and email the form as I please to obtain patient demographic information.  However, I want to streamline the form management process as much as possible.  Since the forms I will be distributing include signatures, the last thing I want is for received forms to remain editable when a patient has signed off on inputted information for someone in our staff to unintentionally edit or botch in some way.  Is there any way to configure the form I created and will hopefully distribute to be sent back to the distributor (me) as a non-fillable .pdf?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
You can configure the properties of the signature field to lock the document as part of the signing process. Select the Digital Signature Properties dialog and then select the Signed tab.
Select the Mark as read-only radio button and leave the drop-down menu set to All fields.

  • Can responses from 2 forms (Spanish and English) be merged into one?

2 separate forms were created of a survey, one in Spanish and one in English.  I want to report on the data all together. Is there a way to merge the data from these surveys to be able to create one report?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can't merge accounts but there may be some things you can do, what exactly are you trying to achieve by merging accounts.

  • Are Distributed Forms created in Acrobat XI Pro compatible with Response Forms in Acrobat X Pro?

I want to be able to use distributed forms (created in Acrobat XI Pro) that I have received back through email with Acrobat X Pro.  That is, I want to be able to import the form information that is being sent back to me into a response form in Acrobat X Pro. Is this kind of "forward-compatible" issue possible?
Or, since I created the distributed forms in Acrobat XI Pro, can I only import data from those forms in an appropriate response from in Acrobat XI Pro?
    Thanks!

The distribution technique for email, network folder, or internal server haven't changed between Acrobat X and XI so you should be able to do this; however, it won't be managed through Tracker because you're distributing the form through different programs.

  • One of my forms and it's responses are missing from "My Forms"

Two days ago I was working with the responses from one of our forms.  I went to continue to work on the data last night and the form and all it's responses are missing.  Is there any way to restore the form and/or it's responses from a backup?
Also, I have a pdf copy of the form, but when I go to import it I get an error basically saying I cannot import the form because it has already been distributed.  Is there any kind of workaround to this so I don't have to recreate the form from scratch?
    Thanks
    Max

    Max,
FormsCentral currently does not import the pdf copy back.  Sorry for that.  If you want to have a backup copy of a FormsCentral form, a better way is export the form design. You could do that in the Form Design, File – Export Design File…, to export the form design and save it locally.  You could then import the form design back to your account in a later time.  Note, export the form design would not include the responses data.

  • Can you import form responses from one responses file to another? I know you can export...

I have a distributed form with a responses file that has six responses in it. Somehow the distribution got cut off and I had to set up a new distributed form and a new responses file. I was able to export the six old responses to a .csv file, but have not found a way to IMPORT the .csv file into the new responses file.
"Add" does not work-- it is looking for PDF files only. Does anyone know a way to import those 6 responses into my new responses file? The distributed form did not change in any way, so all of the fields are still exactly the same.
I can create a master portfolio and just add the two portfolios together, but they just remain as file icons within the portfolio and I need the data to be inline together in one file.
    Thank you very much.

If you still have the .muse file for the template you want you can open it up in Muse 'Select All' --> Copy.
Open your destination blank template and paste it. You can have bothe muse files up in Muse at the same time.

  • How can I embed an DOCTYPE HTML Form from Adobe Forms central into a responsive html5 page?

How can I embed an DOCTYPE HTML Form from Adobe Forms central into a responsive html5 page?
    -Luis

    Hi,
You can embed the form on your website, but you need to make sure that javascript has been enabled in the browser. You need to copy the embed code and add it into your HTML code. If you would like FormsCentral to generate embeded HTML form without using javascript, you may post a feature request and vote it. Hope it helps! Thanks!
    Kind regards,

  • Allowing only one response from each emailed form.

I am interested in creating a survey/voting scenario and allowing people to submit their responses including their vote.  My issue is that as the program stands now a person could actually fill out their form multiple times and submit multiple votes.  Is there a way to limit the responses from each emailed form to one?
    Thanks

  • Distributed Form has Stopped Collecting Responses

I created a PDF distributed form and for 2 months the responses form collected responses. As of Monday of this week, all the previous responses are gone and no more are getting collected! Please, help! I need the lost data. Thanks

If you're collecting through Acrobat.com, then you need to be aware that the service has been end-of-lifed. This is mentioned in the most recent release notes: 11.0.07 Planned update, May 13, 2014 — Acrobat and Adobe Reader Release Notes
I'm not sure what to say about the previously collected data. It should still be available in Tracker.
For the future, FormsCentral offers an alternative, but it's not free.

  • Is there a way to combine data from multiple responses (collected from different forms)?

Since FormCentral (FC) doesn't support XFA-based dynamic forms (utilizing form logic), we have a long form that we may need to separate out into smaller PDF forms.  However, the data from each form needs to remain as a group. Wondering if there's a way to combine data form individual forms using FC, or maybe simple solution after-the-fact. I presume there would have to be some sort of unique identifier on each form as a reference.
NOTE: These are PDF forms imported into FC, not web forms created in FC.

    Hi;
There are not any methods that FormsCentral provides.  You would not be able to combine it within FormsCentral, you can experiment with exporting the data from FormsCentral to Excel and then combining in Excel.
    Thanks,
    Josh
