Ressource Explorer - up to date?

Hello
I told a user to uninstall PC games I saw some time ago in SCCM Reports.
Now I see some games in ressource explorer under his PC again.
I do not know if these are the same games or new games.
But I would like to make sure that the applications and software under "installed applications" and "installed software" are actually installed right now on his PC before reporting to management again.
Can you tell me if the data there is up to date or does it show all the applications that where installed at any time?Thanks and sorry for the bad English
bye
david

1st examine "Workstation Status -> Last HW scan date". It will tell you when inventory was sent.
That data is taken from add/remove programs (=registry information) so it might be possible that uninstalling the game might not have removed that information on the client.

    : Configuration of FP-Modules. In the catalog is something written about sending data on data change. There is a checkbox in the FP-Explorer but I cant find a configuration menu in FP-Explorer to set the threshold value at which the data will be send.The FP-1600 modules automatically send data on-change only. The change threshold is by default 0%. Any change, even a single least significant bit change, is sent back to the computer. If the FP-1600 firmware revision supports deadbanding (firmware revision 3.0.x and later, can be downloaded from ftp://ftp.ni.com/support/fieldpoint/Update/FPEthernet0320.zip ). Then on each analog channel or count channel you can specify a percentage change for deadbanding in FieldPoint Explorer. This is done on a channel by channel basis, by right-clicking on the particular IO module and choosing Edit this Device, then choosing Channel Configuration. Each channel (if it supports deadbanding) will have a deadband entry box on the middle right side of the screen).
    The FP-1000/1001 seri
    al network modules do not support deadbanding. The checkbox in FieldPoint Explorer is simply for how FieldPoint Explorer displays the data to the user and does not effect client programs nor the behavior of the network module itself.

  • Preserving doc "Date Created" as displayed in Windows explorer

    Hello.  We've just retired an SBS and have about 2000 Word docs that have their attached templates linked to the obsolete server.  Using EditAttachedTemplates (vb.net) solves the missing template problem but introduces another.  It wipes the
    Date Created - for Windows explorer purposes.
    Our staff accesses all of the .docm's by windows explorer (sorted by "Date Created").  Without the template repair app, each doc takes 30 seconds to open and machines are searching for the old server.
    I do not have access to the source code of the template repair app.  Also... I am not a dev and we do not employ one.  So... hypothetically, if I could find someone to alter the vb repair app, could it in theory be adjusted so that the original
    "Date Created" as displayed in W7 explorer would be unchanged?

    Thank you, Paul.
    This code has following issues:
    1. Its "Last Modified" date retention line returns an error. "Object does not support this action". I worked it around using the Shell method though.
    UpdateModDT xFolder, xFile, xDT
    Function UpdateModDT(myFolder, myFile, DateTime)
    Dim objShell, objFolder
    Set objShell = CreateObject("Shell.Application")
    Set objFolder = objShell.NameSpace(CStr(myFolder))
    objFolder.Items.Item(myFile).ModifyDate = DateTime
    End Function
    2. It skips the Protected files and returns an error when it cannot write the reason in the the document from where it was run
    3. It only works on one extension type at a time, i.e. currently set for *.doc
    Can you please assist on this?
    Thanks,
    Josh

  • Explorer/Polestar: Need to re-index every time new data was loaded?

    I have a question concerning the indexing functionality of BO Explorer/Polestar. It's clear that I need to re-index my infospace everytime the structure of the infospace has changed (e.g. I added a new object from my universe). What I'm not sure about is whether I also need to re-index my infospace as soon as new data was loaded in the warehouse which is supposed to be a part of my infospace. Example: I crate an infospace consisting of countries (UK, USA, Germany and Japan) and revenue. I index this infospace. The next day a new country (France) is loaded in the dwh. Do I need to re-index the infospace so that users can see "France" in BO Explorer?
    Thanks for your help!
    Agnes

    Hi Agnes,
    according to the Explorer documentation new data are available AFTER reindexing.
    Indexing refreshes the data and metadata in Information Spaces. After
    indexing, any new data on the corporate data providers upon which those
    Information Spaces are based becomes available for search and exploration.

  • Some fields missing in Field Explorer

    Hi Experts,
    I am designing a Crystal report template. I cannot view some fields in Field Explorer.
    And data type of these fields is nvarchar(X), e.g. nvarchar(10)
    How can I do to have these fields show? Then I can use them in report.
    I'd like to add more information:
    Crystal Reports 2008, CR Developer Version
    SQL Server 2008
    Connection is OLE DB
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Christina,
    Even though they are defined as small char types they can still have BLOB type data inserted into them. Or SQL Server changed their driver and CR doesn't support the type now.
    If you have not already try installing Service Pack 3 and then Fix Pack 3.1 and test again. We did some fixes for that type, but unfortunately it was not completely fixed.
    When you selected OLE DB did you choose the Native 10 driver or the OLE DB driver? It's the Native 10 driver we don't fully support yet.
    Thank you

    Hi,
    Thank you for your update.
    If the issue still occurs after you tried all the steps.
    I understand that some files cannot be repaired when running SFC /scannow, I suggest trying the following method to troubleshoot the issue:
    1. At an elevated command prompt, copy and then paste (or type) the following command, and then press ENTER:
    takeown /f Path_And_File_Name
    For example, type takeown /f E:\windows\system32\jscript.dll.
    2. Copy and paste (or type) the following command, and then press ENTER to grant administrators full access to the file:
    icacls Path_And_File_Name /GRANT ADMINISTRATORS:F
    For example, type  icacls E:\windows\system32\jscript.dll /grant administrators:F.
    3. Copy and paste (or type the following command to replace the file with a known good copy of the file:
    Copy Path_And_File_Name_Of_Source_File  Path_And_File_Name_Of_Destination
    For example, type copy E:\temp\jscript.dll E:\windows\system32\jscript.dll.
    I also would like to share the thread below with you to check the issue:
    Internet explorer 11 cause explorer.exe crashes

  • Crystal Report 8.5 (Date/Time Tab Missing)

    Hi All,
    I have been using Crystal Reports Pro 8.5 (SP3) for a while now but I have come across one problem which I cannot understand.
    All Date and Time fields within our SQL database are showning in Crystal as only Date fields even though they are definately Date Time field. If I explore the field data within Crystal it only shows me the Date field.
    The interesting twist is my work colleague has got the same O/S Windows 7 and the exact same version of Crystal as me and he is able to see the Date/Time tab when formatting the field and Crystal identifies the field as a DateTime field.
    Any help would be much appericated.
    Thanks

    Hello,
    It's the ODBC driver you are using, or how ever you are connecting. They are likely using a newer version which CR see's the data/time field type and not convert it to a date field.
    Or it could be one of your Report Options. 8.5 is 10 years old not so I don't recall what the reason for this was now.
    Check your database driver and settings.
    Thank you
    Don

  • Crystal generates empty pages for a datasource with a lot of data

    Hi, I hope someone have some hints to solve my problem with generating large reports.
    I have SAP Crystal Reports runtime engine for .NET Framework 4 32-bit installed on my Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise Server.
    Since I update Crystal Reports to 13.0.2.469 large Reports have only empty pages. If I print those Reports the data are visible, the report is displayed correct.
    I solved the problem temporarily by setting SeparatePages to true for the CrystalReportViewer Control, but for the future I need the complete report displayed at once.
    I would be very pleased about your help / hints.
    Regards, Sabine

    Thank you for your answer.
    My report has only one cross table in it. I can generate it for a dataset with 26 rows. If there are 27 rows the report is empty.
    If I use a diffrent report without a crosstab only with repeatable sections and less data, I can make a select for 150 rows. That shows me 5 - 7 pages.
    It also makes a difference how the page settings are. If I configurate a smaller border for the top and bottom border I need to change my select to select less record rows and if I configurate a greater border there can be more record rows.
    Here an example how I can reproduce my problem:
    using System.Web;
    using System.Web.UI;
    using System.Web.UI.WebControls;
    using CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine;
    using System.Data;
    using System.Net;

                if (Session["InitialiseReport"] == null)
                    ProcessingReportData();
                return request.BeginGetResponse(cb, state);
            void EndAsyncOperation(IAsyncResult ar)
                if (Session["InitialiseReport"] == null)
                    Response.AddHeader("Refresh", "1");
                    Session["InitialiseReport"] = "performed";
            private void ProcessingReportData()
                CrystalReport2 report = new CrystalReport2();
                // 26 rows works, 27 shows an empty report
                string sql = "select top 26 Auftraggeber as Customer, Kostenträgername as Project, Beschreibung as Description, Stundenanzahl as Hours, UMusername as Ressource from V_MonthEvaluation";
                DataTable data = WebSQLTools.ExecuteToDataTable(sql, Global.Connection, Global.Logger, "");
                DataSet dataSet = new DataSet("DataSet1");
                data.TableName = "DataTable1";
                dataSet.Tables.Add(data);
                report.SetDataSource(dataSet);
                Session["Report"] = report;
    Do someone have a similar problem? Is there a solution?

  • Document Library Modified Dates

    Hi,
    We're currently moving a lot of file resources into document libraries, and one thing we've noticed is that SharePoint shows the modified date as the date the file was migrated not the actual last modified date from the file.
    This is causing some users discomfort as they work from those modified dates to do their job, and now they're all the same
    In Explorer View the dates show as we expect them. It's when you use the browser, or when you use Open File in Office and browse to a document library.
    I wondered is there any way of adding the Last Modified Date of the file into the view of a document library?
    Many Thanks,
    Andrew
    Andrew France - http://andrewsprivatecloud.wordpress.com

    I'm not sure about files that have already been uploaded to SharePoint - from what I've noticed that changes the modified date on the file as well.  You can adjust it on the upload though if you script it, I've used the below script to accomplish this
    in the past.  It will go through the specified folder, uploading all files, keeping folder structure intact, and adjust the SharePoint modified date/time to that of the file.
    May not be exactly what you're looking for, but hopefully will help.
    #change these values as required, filepath is files to upload, sitename is the sharepoint web name, listname is obvious
    $filepath = "<folder location>"
    $sitename = "<sharepoint web>"
    $listname = "<list name>"
    if(!(Get-PSSnapin "Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell" -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue))
    { Add-PSSnapin Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell }
    function recurse_dir()
    param ([string]$fileUploadPath, [string]$parentFolderName="")
    #go through each file in the directory provided and upload
    foreach ($file in (dir $fileUploadPath))
    $newlocation=""; $newlocationfolder=""
    if ($file.Attributes -eq "Directory")
    if ($parentFolderName -ne "") {$newlocation=$parentFolderName+"/"}
    $newlocation+=$file.name
    $newFile = ($list.rootfolder).subfolders.add("$newlocation")
    Write-Output "Added directory ""$file"" to $listname/$newlocation"
    if ($parentFolderName -eq "") {$newlocationfolder=$newfile.parentfolder.url + "/"}
    $newlocationfolder+=$newlocation
    recurse_dir -fileUploadPath $file.fullname -parentFolderName $newlocationfolder
    else
    $newFile = ($list.rootfolder).files.add($file.name,$file.OpenRead(),$true)
    $fileitem = $newfile.item
    $fileitem["Modified"]=$file.LastWriteTime
    $fileitem.Update()
    $newlocation = "$parentFolderName/$file"
    if ($parentFolderName -ne "")
    $newfile.MoveTo($newlocation)
    $newFile.Update()
    $list.Update()
    Write-Output "Uploaded ""$file"" to $newlocation"
    $newfile = $null
    $fileitem = $null
    $list = (get-spweb $sitename).lists[$listname]

  • Fighting with typed data set and GetChildRows() method

    Hi,
    I have problems with the GetChildRows method of a typed data set of a VS2005 data set designer generated code to get all child rows from a parent table. Its not working the way it should and throws a "invalid cast exception" on the line
    DataSet.T_CHILDRow[] childs = parent.GetT_CHILDRows();
    I don't know if the problem is me and my still limited VS/C# knowledge or the Oracle .NET provider (local installed oracle10gR2 and Oracle .NET provider v2.0.50727) or VS2005 and the code generator for the data set.
    I attach the sample script to create my test table T_PARENT and T_CHILD as well as some test data and my program.cs console test application. To create the data set, just add a new data set to the solution named "DataSet.xsd" and drop the two test tables from the database explorer onto the data set designer window.
    TIA,
    Stefan

    I found it: the problem is a bug in VS2005. Even SP1 provides no fix. MS just states that it will be fixed in the next VS release, but provides no info which release this will be.

  • Date created for playlists

    how do i find the date created for my playlists? i have too many and want to only keep the recents.

    Sorry but just trying to understand.
    Not sure why the Date Created on a Sequence makes a difference to what is sent...which I assume would be an Export.
    ie how does the Sequene relate to "the finished versions for broadcast"?
    My finished versions for broadcast (TVCs)  have a Key number *& title on the file name and if I look in Explorer..the date created is in the appropriate column.
    If I wanted the sequence to have that  "created date" info..I would put it in the Sequence Name alongside the Key number etc.

  • Explorer on BW Only Possible?

    I have been asked to investigate if Business Object Explorer is supported on BW 7.3 and 7.4 and or there is a work around for BI 4.0 SP7 and or BI 4.1 SP3?  I have read the admin guide and it mentions that OLAP data sources are not supported.
    When I recently spoke with a person from SAP, they said that they thought Explorer 4.0 was supported for BW.
    I tried to clarify that we do not have BWA or Hana, just BW.  I have read where it might be possible to use Explorer on a BW DSO with a universe, but this is not very useful to us, unless we were to create DSOs out of calculated results from cube.
    Can anyone clarify this?  Our CIO and CFO like the presentations they have seen on Explorer and do not understand why we cannot use it with SAP BW.
    Lee Lewis

    Lewis,
    I have the same issues recently, and with company officials at the Sapphire conference, the SAP sales people are just lending to the confusion because they don't understand the technicals or support that is identified.
    The platform compatiblity list for support, specifically states that OLAP universe are not supported.  BW and HANA are supported but BW is only supported through HANA or BWA.
    Now I am an Admin/Engineer, not a developer or data architect; have been for 15+ years dating back to when this was SI 6.5 (Seagate Info) and Crystal Reports 6.5.  I have migrated and built systems through Crystal Enterprise to BusinessObjects XI and now BI 4.1.
    I have tested on 4.1SP3; and yes, you can build a universe (unv or unx) on BW queries, but that is the definition of an OLAP universe, even though it is a relational connection.
    I find that the BEX Queries the way most are written for BEX Reports are inadequate in design for exploration of the data.  Heirarchies don't work, and all you will get is the L00 and L01 dimensions, NO DETAIL OBJECTS. from the universe.
    Again OLAP Universes are not supported for Explorer.  Test this by trying to convert a unv on BEX to a UNX through the IDT, and it will tell you it doesn't support conversion of OLAP Universes and to use BICs.  You must rebuild it with SAP Jco connection to the query, but then why rebuild if the design was to go to BICs?  The reason for that would be customized universes, that lay on top of an injected BEX statement.  Some places do that; requires more maintenance during refreshing the unvierses, but in those necessary cases that BEX/MDX will not let you do what you need in the query, you are only left with the universe or analysis document (RPT, WID, etc) to manipulate the data the way that is required for the task at hand.
    There is documentation out there of using excel data from BW to drive the InfoSpace, and Exploration View set that you schedule for refresh.  This turns out to be a Rube Goldberg design approach to the issue, as you need to perform multiple steps for one InfoSpace/Exploration View.
    1. Design and schedule the WebI or Crystal output to Excel.
    2. Then use that excel for base of the Information Space
    3. Then through CMC capture the actual location of the file in the FRS, used for InfoSpace,
    4. Schedule the webi to export the results to that new location only over-writing itself.
    5. Set the recurring schedule in both the infospace for indexing and the webI.
    Voila! You have the most cumbersome design of getting supported BW data into Explorer without HANA, BWA, or Data Services pipiing into a datamart or other flattened RDBMS style source to get SAP to support it via their documentation.
    The Biggest ERROR made by companies and Executive is thinking that SBOP is SAP.  SAP Owns it, but BusinessObjects remains BusinessObjects.  We provide Business Intelligence Solutions for everything the company can provide access to in the way of data, not just SAP, and not exclusively SAP.  BusinessObjects was originally designed for Relational Databases, OLAP was added for Voyager/Pioneer (now Analysis for OLAP).  The design driving force behind everything SAP is now HANA.
    I have requests to look at InfiniteInsight, Predictive Analysis, Lumira, and other applications that are SAP and not SBOP, but like SBOP are acquired assests and not true SAP NW Applications.  90% of them will not work directly with BW like Crystal and WebI does for reports without going through another interface, layer, and/or appliance.

  • More details for master data

    Hi friends,
    I want to know more details about the master data, when there is one cube or dso, how can I find out that master data objects in that?
    When right click on master data info object and display, there is tabs called u2018general, business explorer, master data/texts, hierarchy, attribute and compoundingu2019, want to know much details on each tab and option in that.
    I know some thing about these options, but want to know all options. This is basic question, but wants to know detaily from experts. Please give more details on this. Thanks in advance.
    Suji.

    there are 6 tabs in master data datasource
    1. general tab, 2. Business explorer 3. master data/text 4. Hirarchy 5. attribute 6. Compounding
    General:
    in this there are 4 options
    1.  dictionary : give data type of that object, give length of the object, convertion rotiune is alpha which makes
    "ALPHA conversion", is a transaction (transaction code RSMDCNVEXIT) that checks the format of all values of characteristics that use one of the conversion routines ALPHA, GJAHR and NUMCV. If values are found that do not have the correct internal format it can replace them by correct value and update all dependant SAP NetWeaver BI objects (like InfoCubes, Hierarchies, master data of other characteristics...).
    The most important conversion routine - due to its common use - is the ALPHA routine that converts purely numeric user input like '4711' into '004711' (assuming that the characteristic value is 6 characters long). If a value is not purely numeric like '4711A' it is left unchanged.
    transfer routine : when u want to write the routine use the create buttom.
    Business explorer:
    use authorization relevant check box when you want the object as authorization and use in report based on user requirement.
    Master data/text:
    it shows the object has attr or text or both, you can find by identifing the check box
    Hirarchy:
    if the check box of with hierarchy is checked then it has hierarchy.
    Attributes:
    it shows the attributes of the attributes.
    compounding:
    In Compounding, A Field or another Object is attached to an Info Object. A Compounding Characteristic is when object's definition is incomplete without the definition of another Characteristic Info Object.
    We can also determine whether we want to compound the characteristic to other InfoObjects. Sometimes we need to compound InfoObjects in order to map the data model. Some InfoObjects cannot be defined uniquely without compounding.
    For Example the Info Object - Location (0PP_LOCAT) has to be assigned with a Compound Info Object - Plant (0PLANT).
    By using compound InfoObjects, you can model the dependencies between InfoObjects. You can compound InfoObjects to map the data structure of a source system.
