  • Restart of SOA Suite server = Manually restart all running BPEL processes?

    Hi,
    Is it true that in SOA Suite 10.1.3 you have to manually restart all running BPEL process if you restart the SOA Suite? And that this was working in 10.1.2?
    If it is true, how do people handle that? We might have thousands of processes waiting in Waiting state on the server so this sounds like a nightmare. :-)
    Regards Pete

    Yes, I was a bit surprised too, that is why I am asking. :-) I was a colleague that told me that it was not working in 10.1.3. But I should just go and check it out.

  • Restart Depreciation Run

    Dear All,
    Our December depreciation run (ran on 5th January) was unsuccessful and the message returned is to restart depreciation run for November. I did a test run (restart) for November and 5 assets were displayed. One of the assets has its depreciation start date changed to a future date, even though the asset had already gone through 2 previous depreciation runs. For such cases, I was told that a repeat run should be performed. However, the repeat run wasn't performed. We believe it's why the December depreciation run was unsuccessful and a November depreciation run was required.
    Now, to restart November's depreciation run, we need to reopen the FI posting period for November. Every time something goes wrong for a depreciation run, we might need to rerun for a previous month. And to rerun a previous month, we have to reopen a FI posting period. Since it's hard to prevent this from happening again, it does not seem to be a good standing solution should the same problem occurs again.
    Are there any more elegant alternatives? Any advice? Thanks.
    Regards.

    There were no errors in November because the change in start date probably happened during the month of December.
    I don't any faults with this.  The change might have been a normal correction.  But SAP is also correct in order to ensure that the subledger and GL are reconciled for that period.

  • How to restart/force run of APEX jobs?

    Our development server system date was temporarily set to a period in the future, which meant that our Oracle jobs were left with their 'next date' also set to a time in the future.
    For most of our jobs, we could simply log in as the schema owner and manually restart/run the affected jobs.
    With the APEX-based jobs, we has a problem in that they were owned by the 'flows' user and their password was unknown/random from installation.
    We got around the problem by using the 'su' method (see http://asktom.oracle.com/tkyte/Misc/su.html) to temporarily change the password.
    Is there an official way of restarting/force-running APEX jobs? By default, there are the mail queue flushing and session clearing jobs but I assume that any other jobs created within APEX will have similar issues?

    Hello,
    This is what you can do in SM37.
    Execute the list of batch jobs, when the result appears on the screen edit the ALV grid via CTRL+F7.
    Now add the following columns "TargetServ" and "Executing server".
    You will now have two extra columns in your result list.
    TargetServr contains the value of the application server where the job should run when you have explicitely filled it in.
    Often this is empty, this means that at runtime SAP will determine itself on which application server the job will run (depending of course where the BGD processes are defined).
    Executing server is filled in always for all executed jobs, this is the actual application server where the job has run.
    You can also add these two fields in your initial selection screen of SM37 by using the "Extended job selection" button.
    I hope this isusefull.

  • Mavericks install was unsuccessful, won't restart without running the install again

    Help - I'm trying to update my mac 10.6.8 to Mavericks. I started the install which stopped - it said the install was unsucessful, and that I would need to back up and clear the Hard Drive before installing.  However... when I restart it runs the Mavericks install again... t's a loop and it's driving me nuts.
    Is there a way around that so I can restart to the old operating system?   Any help appreciated! Thanks!

    You are welcome.
    Try booting off the Snow Leopard DVD by holding down C during a restart or holding down the option/alt key and selecting the DVD. Run Disk Utility Repair Disk and Repair Permissions. Reboot and test.
    If that doesn't work and you have an external hard drive that is empty, boot off the DVD and run Disk Utility/Restore to copy your hard drive to the external hard drive. Then erase your computer hard drive (format Mac OS Extended ( Journaled) and re-install Snow Leopard. Reboot normally and update to 10.6.8. Download Mavericks again (if desired) and try the upgrade again. If successful, you should be able to delete the installer from the external drive and copy your files back to your computer.
    10.6.8 Combo Updater
    Then do a backup, preferably two separate backups using Time Machine or a cloning program.

  • Mac OS X crashes on restart after running Windows 7 under bootcamp

    Hi,
    Have a strange problem that has only just cropped up recently.
    I upgraded to Lion on the day it came out and have booted into my bootcamp partition several times since then however, the other day i booted into Windows 7 and after restarting to go back into Mac OS X, it booted to the desktop, i saw the FInder load and then it just restarts. It then boots into Windows again (next available boot drive i suppose). I then restart into Mac OS X, picking it from the Bootcamp menu in the Windows 7 system tray but it then does the exact same thing - boots into Mac OS X, loads the finder and then restarts into Windows again.
    The only way i have been able to boot into Mac OS X is to hold shift at start-up when the Mac drive is selected to boot into, in order to boot it into safe mode and then run Onyx to do a few maintenance tasks. After a restart, Mac OS X boots perfectly again.
    I have seen countless posts about Lion not allowing Windows 7 to boot but not the other way around as in my situation.
    I have installed Bootcamp 3.3 on Windows 7 and have a completely up-to-date version of Windows 7 and Mac OS X but this still doesn't fix the problem.
    Can anyone suggest why this might be happening or what i can do to fix it? I'd like to fix this if possible as i can't go through the rigmoral or having to boot into safe mode and then use Onyx everytime i use Windows. I only use Windows for gaming though so it isn't critical but still a pain.
    Many thanks in advance for any help or advice!

    Hi probe_driod.
    Thanks for your help. I ran software update this morning and the only thing that appeared was an updated version of iTunes. I manually downloaded the Graphics Firmware update but it said it did not apply to my system.
    It is to my understanding that i cannot install Bootcamp 4 over the top of my Bootcamp 3.3 installation without first removing my bootcamp partition (therefore destroying all of my data) and then installing bootcamp again from scratch. Is this correct?

  • G4 PPC won't Sleep, Restart, or run Screen Saver

    Hi all,
    My 7 year old 1.25 GHz G4 PPC, until recently, has run with little to almost no problems (at least nothing I couldn't solve on my own).
    Now, this past week all of a sudden I can't get the computer to go to sleep, either through Energy Saver settings or manually. It just doesn't respond and nothing happens. I read through some other similar questions that have been posted in the past and tried a few of the offered solutions. I've run disk utility, and tried disconnecting all USB peripherals, still non-responsive.
    Likewise, I can't get my screen saver to run either through Energy Saver settings or through my Hot Corners (all other hot corner settings seem to work fine). It will only launch through System Prefs > Desktop & Screen Saver > Test.
    The last problem I have noticed so far is that I can't perform a restart, when I do the process starts, but almost immediately goes to a grey screen with the little spinning circle (the one that looks like a clock face) and stays that way. I've let this screen run for as long as about a half hour to see if something would happen, and nothing did. In the end I have to force a power down by holding down the power button.
    Again, as recommended elsewhere, I have repaired disk permissions and verified the disk, with still no change. I have disconnected all usb peripherals (3 external HD's, iPod, powered usb hub, despite the fact it's worked fine for the past 6 months with all these connections [6 months ago my firewire 400 ports stopped working, haven't replaced them yet]). I have not installed any new software recently, and my last software update before this started happening was iTunes 8.2.1 a couple of days before I first noticed the problem.
    Any ideas?

    Hi japamac,
    Thanks for the tips. (I had to create a new account here).
    Tried all your advice and nothing worked. I ended up getting fed up and tried reinstalling OSX and that didn't work either. After that I zeroed my drive (twice) and started from scratch. That's why I've been late in responding, it takes forever to backup your system when all you have to work with are usb ports at 12kb/s.
    Anyway, upon completion of zeroing my HD I reinstalled OSX 10.3 and checked all my settings, no issues were apparent, I could put the computer to sleep, run my screensaver, and all hot corners worked as well, all with no apparent problems. After that I downloaded and installed all updates for OSX 10.3, and still everything worked fine. So next I reinstalled OSX 10.4 off my disk, and once again, everything worked fine. So I started with my software updates (just the basics) one at a time retesting after each one, Java updates: everything worked, iPod phone support: everything worked, DVD Player update: everything worked, then I updated the 10.4 update bundle to 10.4.11 and all the problems returned. So I started over one more time, this time updating OSX first, and still, as soon as 10.4 is updated to 10.4.11 the problems return.
    So what could be happening with my computer that an operating system update (one I've had and run since it first came out, with no previous problems), is all of a sudden causing some sort of conflict or is just buggered in general, even after I have erased and zeroed my HD twice (presumably deleting any other file/program that could have been causing the conflict in the first place).
    And because I erased my HD, all my login settings for this forum were gone and I couldn't remember my login info so I had to create a new account.
    Thanks again,
    Chris

  • Problem trying to restart after running updater

    I am having an issue after my updater prompts me to restart my mac. In the past the blue screen that appears with the circular loading icon only stays up for a few minutes at the very most then the mac restarts. Right now it's been running for a couple of hours. I'm not sure if any updates are being applied right now, so I don't want to manually power down yet. Does anybody know if it will cause harm if I force shut down? Or is there some keyboard method that will safely shut down from here? I'm using my backup PC right now, so I really want to the mac working again.
    System Specs:
    Mac Mini 2.0GHz
    Intel Core 2 Duo 2GB RAM
    OSX 10.5.7

    Sometimes an update gets "stuck" and things like this happen. System might not shut down or it might hang on restart.
    I suggest, even though it's working to do a partial safe boot - reboot and hold down the shift key.
    At the save boot login screen click restart and let it reboot normally.
    It's important to repair permissions before and after any update, just to be sure there are no real permission errors.
    If you used the auto software update, I suggest reapplying the manual combo download to ensure everything is really OK.

  • PC restarts when running games since GTX 970 install

    Hi all,
    my PC build is 4 years old and has been stable until I replaced a Radeon 6950 with a GTX 970 last night. Am I missing something or is my card defective?
    All drivers are up to date, and I used the GeForce Experience to "optimize" graphic settings in these games.
    Crashes (sudden PC shutdown and restart) only occur occasionally, only when in-game:
    Bioshock Infinite (in menu, once). Proceeded into gameplay (20 minutes) without problems.
    Heroes of the Storm (in game, 3 times during a 2 hour session). Some games ran fine.
    World of Warcraft (once, after tabbing back from the desktop).
    Evolve (once, while one of the monster intro videos was playing).
    PC Specs:
    Windows 7
    i5 2500k @ 3.3 (I previously had it a 4.4, but bumped it back down. Still crashing).
    Asus P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3
    MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V
    Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3-1600
    Crucial M4 128GB SSD
    4 Hard Drives
    Corsair Professional 850W Power Supply

    Hi
    Your motherboard running latest BIOS? Ask asus for this.
    Is your RAM factory matched (all 4 slots in one box) or 2x 2x4GB ? Try with single RAM stick/kit.
    Try to completely uninstall AMD drivers and nvidia. Then reinstall nvidia.
    Install >>Driver Fusion<<
    Go into Safe Mode, run Driver Fusion and remove all amd and nvidia drivers.
    Reboot.
    Install nvidia drivers. Then reboot and try again with games.

  • HELP! Restarted while running windows setup! No MacOS when rebooted.

    I have almost the same problem as this one (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=8248433). I partitioned my 230G HD. I partitioned 32G for my windows. I've done boot camp before and everything went well. but i uninstalled it because I wanted more space. and now i ant it back. So i ran bootcamp to reinstall windows.
    There was the setup.. but when it made me choose which partition to format, it only showed me one partition. And i first thought that it was big for a windows partition. But I clicked format anyway. It was about 6% when I felt that something was really wrong. so i restarted it in the hopes of going back to my mac os. BUT, when i restarted and held down control, the only things that are showing are the windows CD and the windows 'partition'! NO MAC OS!
    I was confident in running bootcamp because i already did it countless times before! i did not expect this to happen NOW! Just when the school year was about to end! HELP! ALL MY FILES ARE IN HERE! I feel that I still have hope. because only 6% was reformatted. PLEASEEEEEE. HELP!

    I am a person with zero technical understanding of OS X but - on the opposite hand - have blundered my way successfully through a lot of problems.
    I see you have already used BC successfully once and so you have good experience there. I cannot comment on the extra large partition mystery you encountered, but I understand that you DID use BC to initiate a 2nd install of Windows, correct? And while installing Windows, Windows had you choose a partition but offered limited selection, correct? That is it only showed you one instead of the usual 2 (or is it 3? - I forget but it seems to me there is a 3rd partition of very small size required by the computer but that is of no consequence here...) In any case what we have was a suspicious start of a Windows install which was aborted 6% in.
    I'm pretty sure the "damage" would have to be confined to a small part of the hard drive data. Your files are still there - you are scared of losing your Mac data (not Windows data) correct? On these boards there are a few individuals who purchased software that is very successful at saving files from a doomed Mac hard drive - just do a search here to get the name of that software.
    But first - why not try something very simple and obvious. Boot to your Apple install disk (re-start with the Leopard DVD in and hold down the option key) and when the tool bar loads (I think after you choose which language you intend to use) mouse-over the toolbar options and click the Start Disk function JUST TO SEE if MAYBE your Mac install can be 'seen' (and started) from there.
    If the above trick fails - another potential remedy may be had from Disk Utility and perhaps some sort of repair can be done from there....
    I invite anyone with better knowledge to chime in here - I don't know anything about repairs from Disk Utility, esp. whether or not experimenting here would be dangerous or damaging to data....
    Good Luck
    PS - one final "remote" idea - some people obtain a Linux trial boot disk. It is a Linux OS on a DVD which - legend has it - can boot from your DVD drive and access files on your Mac install. Again - I have no practical knowledge on how this is done. Try Google I guess...

  • Apps are requiring restarts to run on a MBP...

    I just purchased my first intel mac- 15" MPB. As a longtime powerpc mac user, I'm a bit frustrated. Multiple times a day I go to launch apps only to have the icon bounce once and then refuse to start. I end up having to do a full restart to get them to run. I've run multiple perm. repairs and the like. Nothing seems to work. I'm rather frustrated and find myself wanting to go back to a PPC machine. Any suggestions from the good people of the forum?
    Thanks
    Mac book Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    This usually happens because the application has corrupt preferences, cache, fonts, or permissions. See also if checking off the Open in Rosetta in the Get Info box of the said application works better. To get to the Get Info box, click once on the application in the Finder and select Get Info in the File menu.
    To repair permissions go to Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utility, select the hard drive, and repair permissions
    When it comes it comes to the other issues, sometimes reinstalling the combo update and repairing permissions again works better. The combo update for 10.4.7 is found here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosxupdate1047combointel.html
    If that doesn't work, creating a user account in Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Accounts and logging into it, will help determine if the corruption is with a user level file, or a system level file. Let us know if you get to this stage and find whether it is user or system level.

  • CF 10 will not restart after running Update 3 [updated]

    Just tried to apply Update 3 to CF10 and while trying to restart it did not. (Yes, I did have the Mandatory update installed.)
    How can I fix it or roll it back?
    Thanks for your help,
    Randy
    Figured out how but wasn't exactly as indicated
    From the command prompt (Windows), run:
    C:\ColdFusion10\jre\bin\java -jar C:\ColdFusion10\cfusion\hf-updates\hf-10-00003\uninstall\uninstaller.jar
    If you look a the the discussion on the Blog post about the Update you will see that this is happening to others.... I would hold off on installing the update.

    Hi. I'm not trying to rush things, you may have a different problem, but your issue looks quite familiar to me. I recently had a problem with the discrete graphics card (the Radeon GPU) due to overheating, all because a faulty application of the thermal compound in the factory.
    In my case, the problem started slowly and intermittently, a few days after a gaming session (Quake 3) of about three hours (at the moment, I didn't realized that could be linked to the problem).
    This issue is being actively discussed in another threads in this forum, but so far there's enough evidence that it's been causing similar problems for 2011 MBPs owners: screen corruption, black/blue screens, and in some cases, a total inability to boot. Some of the threads I'm talking about:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/13150366#13150366
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/21110132#21110132
    So far, and since the problem seems to affect only the discrete GPU (that's why you can boot in safe mode) a possible solution is to disable it by removing some extensions which prevent OS X from loading the Radeon drivers. This post describing the process (there are different files involved depending of your GPU version, so make sure you are moving the right ones):
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/22521574#22521574
    In the case your discrete GPU survived and is not permanently damaged, I personally had success by changing the thermal compound myself, which completely fixed the problem (at least for now). I've posted about it here:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/22630561#22630561
    I hope you can find a solution, believe me I know the feeling when you see your expensive machine turning into a brick and it *****.
    Good luck!

  • Computer restarting when running javac.exe

    Hi...i am new to Java.
    I have a problem, when I compile my java file using javac myfilename.java then suddenly my computer restarting itself...
    This happens many times on my computer...Is there anybody know the reason?
    Thanks

    This is an odd problem. Apart from viruses, the usual reason for an unexpected restart is some kind of driver problem, since in XP this often triggers an automatic restart instead of a blue screen (what a creative approach to ridding the world of the BSOD ;-)
    It doesn't seem likely to be a graphics problem, since it occurs with non GUI apps, but just so you know, ATI cards are particularly prone to trouble.
    Install any pending service packs, and update your SDK to 1.4.1_02 if you haven't done so already. Change your graphics drivers to the newest available set.
    That should knock the problem on the head, hopefully.

  • Launchd with keepalive is restarting already running daemon

    I'm trying to start the Nagios nrpe daemon via launchd and want to use the keepalive feature. However, as soon as I load the plist with launchctl, launchd keeps starting the daemon every 10 seconds although it is already running.
    Here's the .plist I'm using:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
    <plist version="1.0">
    <dict>
    <key>KeepAlive</key>
    <true/>
    <key>Label</key>
    <string>org.nagios.nrpe</string>
    <key>UserName</key>
    <string>nagios</string>
    <key>ProgramArguments</key>
    <array>
    <string>/usr/sbin/nrpe</string>
    <string>-c</string>
    <string>/etc/nagios/nrpe.cfg</string>
    <string>-d</string>
    </array>
    </dict>
    </plist>
    And this is from the system.log:
    12:37:25 com.apple.launchd[1] (org.nagios.nrpe): Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds
    12:37:25 nrpe[1269]: Starting up daemon
    12:37:35 com.apple.launchd[1] (org.nagios.nrpe): Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds
    12:37:35 nrpe[1272]: Starting up daemon
    12:37:35 nrpe[1272]: There's already an NRPE server running (PID 1269). Bailing out...
    Any ideas?

    I've struggled a bit with getting this running on 10.5.5 server but this is what I found.
    Using the "-d" argument to run nrpe as a standalone daemon may be causing the respawn. I would suggest changing that to "-i" which is to run it as a service under inetd or xinetd. This seems to be working even though it is really running under launchd. Attempting to run it with no argument does not allow connections, it may not even be starting.
    I also could not get the nagios server (debian) to talk to the OS X server. It kept giving me the following error:
    CHECK_NRPE: Error - Could not complete SSL handshake.
    I added the -n argument to tell it to not use SSL, and it now works. This is what the plist looks like:
    <dict>
            <key>KeepAlive</key>
            <dict>
                    <key>NetworkState</key>
                    <true/>
            </dict>
            <key>Label</key>
            <string>org.nagios.nrpe;/string>
            <key>Program</key>
            <string>/usr/local/nagios/bin/nrpe</string>
            <key>ProgramArguments</key>
            <array>
                    <string>-n</string>
                    <string>-c</string>
                    <string>/usr/local/nagios/etc/nrpe.cfg;/string>
                    <string>-i</string>
            </array>
            <key>Sockets</key>
            <dict>
                    <key>Listeners</key>
                    <dict>
                            <key>SockServiceName</key>
                            <string>5666</string>
                            <key>SockType</key>
                            <string>stream</string>
                            <key>SockFamily</key>
                            <string>IPv4</string>
                    </dict>
            </dict>
            <key>UserName</key>
            <string>nagios</string>
            <key>GroupName</key>
            <string>nagios</string>
            <key>inetdCompatibility</key>
            <dict>
                    <key>Wait</key>
                    <false/>
            </dict>
    </dict>
    </plist>
    If you want to check whether the nrpe application is running and listening you can telnet to the machine on port 5666. If it just drops the connection, something is not right. If it leaves the connection open once connected you should be good.
    Disclaimer: Running nrpe without SSL sends all of your data unencrypted. Depending on your environment, and the data moving back and forth, you should approach this carefully.
    Hope that helps.
