Restart current song while iTunes is not the current active app

In prior iTunes 11 / Mtn. Lion when using an Apple keyboard the F7 key when pressed would re-start a song that was playing with one press, and go to the previous with 2. This functionality has changed so that now it will go to the previous track with one press.
Is there a way to change the functionaly back or, add a separate key command that allows me to restart the current song when iTunes is not the currently active app?

I have a SteelSeries Shift keyboard, and experienced the same problem after updating to 10.4.
Found this little piece of software to fix the problem for me:

It's not ideal, as it has to run in the system tray in order to work, but it's way better than being without the functionality of the hotkeys, untill the problem is fixed.

How to move my songs to iTunes and keep the current folder logic

When I'm trying to copy my mp3 library to iTunes (via "Automatically add to iTunes" folder) I'm loosing my folders as the player groups new songs in its own way. Since I organized my songs the way I want to listen them (one folder -> one playlist) I'm wondering if there's a way to copy them over to iTunes but keep my playlists unchanged?

You can stop iTunes reorganising your files:
Open the menu Edit > Preferences... select the Advanced tab.
Uncheck Keep iTunes Media folder organised and Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library.
Place the content you want to add within the relevant media content folder inside iTunes Media, e.g. Music inside the Music folder (recommended) or leave the content folder outside of the iTunes Media folder wherever it currently resided.
Use File > Add folder to library or just drag & drop.
However that won't stop iTunes organising your files into albums on the basis of their tags. If each folder represents a playlist then use File > New Playlist to create a new playlst, then drag & drop a folder onto it. All the tracks will be added to the library and the playlist.

I thought that command-L was working when I first switched to iTunes 11, but then it wasn't working anymore. That's the ticket: I changed the display to show the sidebar.
Still, I'd like to be able to use the command-L feature whether I'm showing the sidebar or not.
I'd also like it if iTunes would keep showing the currently playing song when in Grid or Artist view modes. It doesn't, so I have to keep using command-L to see the current song info.

When trying to sync or listen to songs in itunes library it says the song on itunes could not be used because the original file could not be found. I am using windows 7.

I have imported cds into my itunes and they appear on my playlist, but when I try to sync to my ipod or listen to them on my computer a message comes up stateing " the songs on itunes could not be used because the original file could not be found". I have not deleted them and am importing them the way I always have. This problem has only been for the last 4 or 5 months. Since updating to the last 2 itunes versions.

The message means that iTunes can not find the original imported music files. iTunes should display a red exclamation mark next to the songs it can not find. You will need to look on your hard drive for the songs/files and than correct the file path in iTunes or just delete the files in your iTunes library and import them again.

Quicktime Player should already be installed on the Mac. If you transferred Quicktime from a VAIO it will not run on a Mac -- no PC software will without using a special interface.
Right click or control+click on one of the files, then > Open with Quicktime Player.
I already suspect that since these files will not play completely on any of your devices that you have an incomplete download.

Are the ones from the CD's on iTunes? You may just have to sync them over to the phone.

I had this issue with my 6th generation nano. It was driving me nuts, until I realized that somehow locked the repeat button on. Selecting one song rather than a selection will cause whatever song you have selected to play over and over and over and over..

I need to restore an iphone 4 to 7.0.6 not the current 7.1

I need to restore an passcode locked CMDA iPhone 4 to 7.0.6 not the current 7.1. This is due to a mobile management application that our company uses that has not been verified to work with 7.1 yet. This iPhone is current on 5.1.0. I am trying to do the restore via iTunes and am using an old ipsw file for 7.0.6 but I keep getting the 3194 error when it tries to restore. I have tried all the "hosts" fil e suggestions but keep getting the same result. Is it no longer possible to restore an iPhone to an older version of iOS, even only one upgrade back??

Sounds like you've already installed iTunes 11 and are now trying to downgrade. To do so successfully you will also need access to a pre-upgrade copy of your library as set out below...
The main differences between iTunes 11 and earlier versions are the loss of coverflow and ability to have multiple windows open.
In Windows, you can restore much of the look & feel of iTunes 10.7 with these shortcuts:
ALT to temporarily display the menu bar
CTRL+B to show or hide the menu bar
CTRL+S to show or hide the sidebar
CTRL+/ to show or hide the status bar (won't hide for me on Win XP)
Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the old search behaviour
Use View > Hide <Media Kind> in the cloud or Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the cloud purchases to hide the cloud items. The second method eliminates the cloud status column (and may let iTunes start up more quickly)
If you don't like having different coloured background & text in the Album (Grid) view use Edit > Preferences > General and untick Use custom colours for open albums, movies, etc.
With iTunes 11.0.3 you can enable artwork in the Songs & List views from View > Show View Options (CTRL+J) making it more like the old Album List view.
If you still feel the need to roll back to iTunes 10.7 first download a copy of the 32 bit installer or 64 bit installer as appropriate, uninstall iTunes and supporting software, i.e. Apple Application Support & Apple Mobile Device Support. Reboot. Restore the pre-upgrade version of your library database as per the diagram below, then install iTunes 10.7.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to scan the media folder and catch up with any changes made since the backup file was created.

I am getting "Error in accessing iTunes store. Please try again later." Error 0x80092013. I have just downloaded and installed current version of iTunes, and have the 2013 Norton IS. My proxy server is letting me got to iTunes, but cannot login.

I have a proxy server and the server is allowing me to go to iTunes. But I get a message "Error in accessing iTunes store. Please try again later." Error code ox80092013. I cannot find that code in the troubleshooting section. I have just installed a new PC HP5750, with Norton IS 2013. I installed the current version of iTunes directly from the iTunes site. My proxy server is American Family Online web browsing filter. I contacted them and they said there should not be a problem with their server. I have had an account previously, but has been inactive for several months. I even tried to create a new account, but still got the same error code.
Someone please help with this. I have accompaniment tracks on iTunes that I need for music ministry.

Go to current song in itunes

The "Go to current song" no longer appears in the View menu. There appears to be no way to go to the song that is currently playing. Did Apple move this feature or get rid of it? Any ideas?

Also, you can click the back arrow on the right side of the LCD Info display (top center of iTunes).
