Restart my laptop every time I try to connect to the internet

Ever since we install this router, I have to restart my laptop when I want to connect to the internet. My computer worked fine with my other router. I have two newer laptops that do not experience this issue and I just bought a desktop and wireless adapter and it is fine as well. It is just my HP Pavillion dv6000 that is experiencing the problem. I have windows vista, but so does on of the the other laptops. Every computer in my home is wireless. What could be the issue?

Try to add the network manually on the computer and then check
Click on Start then click Control Panel.
Click on Network and Sharing Center.
Click on Manage Wireless Networks, then, remove all the Networks present in the list(right click and select remove network)...
Click on the Add button.
Click on Manually create a Network Profile.
Enter your Network Name(SSID), Security Type, Encryption Type, Security Key/Passphrase and check the box that says " Start this connection Automatically " , click Next...
It should say successfully added to your Network...
Close the window and it should connect...

Please can anyone help me as apple will not help unless i sign up for a new product agreement which i cannot understand as every thing worked before this so called very latest software that everyone cant do without  ?????

I had the same problem with some apps and printer setup software. SInce Rosetta has been discontinued on Lion my only solution was to restore to 10.6 since the manufacturers either have not yet or will not release updated apps. In this case you have to determine how important those old PPC apps are to keep around and if there alternitives that are available to replace the functionality. I would expect a broadband provider to update thier apps if it is something that is required to connect.

  • Do you want to allow changes from firefox software updater every time I attempt to connect to the internet

Every time I attempt to connect to the internet I get a dialogue box that asks do you want to allow this programme to make changes? The publisher is Mozilla, and it also tells me that it relates to Firefox software updater. Never had this until about two hours ago! Also seemed to relate to a crash of McAffee, which happened at around the same time.. Don't know much about computers, but what I do know is that this has only just started... Help...???

  • Further to: Every time I try to connect to the App Store on my iMac, my modem crashes.  My internet works otherwise okay.

My virus scan turned up nothing.
I have confirmed the modem crash only occurs when I try to access the App Store via my iMac.
Also, a Macbook Air also on the same WiFi system does exactly the same thing.
The Internet runs perfectly otherwise, except when trying to access the App Store.
The Modem is a Siemens SpeedStream 4200-Series, operating in Bridge mode.
The WiFi is an Apple Airport Extreme.
    FRUSTRATING !!!
(Couldn't figure out how to add this new information to my previous post)

Disable your anti virus software then try the App Store.

  • ITunes crashes every time I try to connect to the iTunes Store

I have iTunes 11. I already restarted my computer and that didn't work. Any suggestions other than the very tedious uninstall and reinstall the whole thing? I tried running the installer for iTunes and selected "Repair" but that didn't work either.

Try gn_id's suggestion from the following post:

System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.
Instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.
For 10.5/10.6, System Preferences>Network, unlock the lock if need be, highlight the Interface you use to connect to Internet, click on the advanced button, click on the DNS tab, click on the little plus icon, then add these numbers...

I believe that system has a hall sensor on it to detect when the lid is closed so it can put the system to sleep and/or disable the monitor so it can be used with an external monitor only. If the sensor is marginal or has a bad cable, it may intermittently cut the monitor on and off, and may likewise put the system to sleep. One way to check would be to plug in an external monitor and if the laptop's screen cuts off or doesn't show up, start using the trackpad and press on a non-typing key like the shift key. If the external display suddenly pops and becomes active while the laptop display remains black, it's probably a problem with the sensor or the cable/connection. You might be able to fool the sensor into kicking on and off by moving a magnet over it. It's located on the left had side of the base with the unit opened up, and right over the audio output plug.
I know of some people that put a small magnet right over the hall sensor's location so the laptop display turns off and they use the system with an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse. If fooling with magnets, make sure they're small and don't get them close to the hard drive because a strong magnet can wipe them out.
I don't know if this will help you much, but it might.

    Hi,
One thing to check is the following.
Open windows Control Panel, open Windows Update, select 'View update history' in the left hand pane and then select 'Installed updates' link in the following window.
Locate update KB2962407, right click it and select Uninstall.  When done, restart the notebook, open windows Control Panel, open Windows Update and select 'Check for updates'.  You'll see the update you just uninstalled being offered again - right click and select 'Hide Update'.
When windows has reloaded, you may or may not need to use recovery manager to reinstall your original Audio Driver as detailed in the document on the link below.
    Recovery Manager - Windows 8.

  • TS1398 every time I try to put in the password I have to put in a space before I can join the network. This adds another character to the password which then makes the password incorrect. How do I get by this problem so I can finish setup?

Every time I try to put in the password for wifi connection in setup I have to put in a space after the password so that I can "join". The extra space changes the password and I can't join my home network!!! What do I do to get the password accepted and continue with setup?

Why do you have to enter a space at the end of the password? Did you try just tapping the keyboard icon in the lower right corner of the keyboard to hide the keyboard or just hit return after you enter the final character of the password?
If you can't get it to work, restart the iPad and try again.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Your Apple ID and iCloud email address don't need to be the same, you can't change an iCloud email address.
Also check your Mail rules and filtering, the verification mail may be going to a junk folder or even being deleted altogether. You may also wish to contact your mail provider to see if their spam filters are removing the email before it gets to you.
