  • My macbook pro suddenly freezes; screen turns off and computer freezes.  Have to hard restart.  Error message appears upon restart, saying something about kernel, etc.  Can anyone please help on this issue?

For the past month or more I've encountered what I consider to be quite a serios problem with my Macbook pro.  The laptop suddenly freezes without warning, the screen turns black, while the hard drive apparently stals and the system no longer responds.  The only way to resolve this issues is to restart the computer via a hard reset.  After restarting, an error message box shows up asking me to report the error, which I've already done on numerous occassions.  The problem occurs at a frequency of 1 every 2-3 days, sometimes more often than that.  The error message that comes up is very complicated but contains some key words amongst which includes "kernel."  This makes me believe that it's an issue with the video card, and was wondering how I can remediate this problem so as to get the normal function of my laptop back.  If anyone can be of any help, I would greatly appreciate it.

  • "You Need To Restart Your Computer" Message every time I try to boot up

I recently installed Mac OS X 10.4 onto my Mac Mini after a licence became available in my home. All was working fine and I updated to 10.4.11 updated safari, flash all that kinda stuff I was missing with 10.3. There was a mega (20.4GB) log file called ARDAgent.crash.log that was clogging up my 80GB Hard Drive leaving it with very little free. This file was there in 10.3.9 but I didn't delete it there and then. After installing 10.4 (I thought maybe it would sort it out - it didn't) it was still there so I tried deleting it. "In use". So I restarted with it moved and as another help topic said I deleted it using terminal. Computer seemed to be running normally and after updating Sockwave Player and a few other things I decided it was time for a restart.
I restarted and 75% the way thru the blue OS X launch sequence I got the "You Must Restart Your Computer" message. Oh Dear thought me. Ah well, do as I'm told. Next time I didn't get as far. It got to just before it loaded OS X bar and then did the same. So, try launch from the 10.4 DVD - worth a try. Did so and for some bizar reason gave me a blue screen. Ok. So what next? I tried the 10.3 restore CDs that came with the Mini and it looked great. It got to the stage of clicking continue to do tests / install OS X and it crashed giving me the restart the computer.
I've reset the PRAM and PMU.
It now crashes with the Grey Screen and Apple logo with the loading sign at the bottom after about 15 seconds after bootup.
I've got a backup but for some crazy reason it's not bootable :'(. I've got other backups but they're of 10.5 and 10.6 so I doubt the mini will even boot into them so I can have a look at the HD to diagnose any further.
Any help would be really appreciated as taking it into a Mac Store is near impossible.

Yes, you are getting kernel panics. A leading cause is memory, however, there are other causes. If you haven't read this, it may help: http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/kernelpanics.html

  • Which is better for bulk message scenario in sap xi RFC or Proxy

which is better for bulk message scenario in ( RFC or Proxy ) ?
Edited by: prabhatxi on Aug 6, 2010 4:44 PM

Proxy will alwaays be better option in this case, as it is adapter less framework, and communication happens directly with XI central integration engine. So it is always fast communication and gives good performance.
But still you should consider other factors, you may consider using RFC as well, as sometime we go for RFC/IDOC as this are the standard interfaces already available rather than creating structure...
May be you can share more info on what type/volume data are you planning to send via XI?
    Hope this cleart your doubt..

macbook froze while online. hard shutdown. when it restarted, an error message appeared saying finder shut down unexpectedly containing a message box with a long list of technical jibberish.  after clicking OK that it would send an error report to Apple, the same error message box appeared again and again every time OK was clicked.  Now the macbook will not turn on at all

If you're able to boot, launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ If you’re running Mac OS X 10.7 or later, open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the page that opens.
Select the most recent panic log under System Diagnostic Reports. Post the contents — the text, please, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header and body of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don't post "shutdownStall" or "hang" reports.
If you can't boot in the usual way, try a safe boot. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
    Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
During startup, you’ll see a progress bar, and then the login screen, which appears even if you normally log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Safe mode is slower than normal, and some things won’t work at all.
Note: If FileVault is enabled under Mac OS X 10.7 or later, you can’t boot in safe mode.

  • Receiver determination for Split Message - Bulk message handling

    All,
I have a scenario where MATMAS message is split to multiple receivers via multi mapping 1:n; the split is based on plant specific data, all works fine the mapping splits the message perfectly.
The problem I have is in configuring the receiver determiniation. I have put conditions based on plant specific data the message should be distributed to the appropriate receiver. At runtime the MATMAS message received is treated as a bulk message and it produces mutiple sub-documents however in my case if the MATMAS has 3 plant specific data the data is send to all the 3 receivers instead of sending just one message per plant to the appropriate receiver.
Its IDOC to File scenario on XI 3.0, SP20.
    Receiver Determination:
    /MATMAS05/IDOC/E1MARAM/E1MARCM/WERKS = 'xxxx' -> send to XXXX_receiver
    /MATMAS05/IDOC/E1MARAM/E1MARCM/WERKS = 'yyyy' -> send to YYYY_receiver
Though the receiver determiniation splits the message by plant it could be that a material is maintained for both xxxx and yyyy plants and in this case both should receive the message but the contents would be different. The problem I have is both messages are delivered to both receivers.
I appreciate those who have taken the time to read the thread and thank you all in advance supporting with advices.

Please find attached the source xml before transormation used for the xpath that I have indicated in my original message. From the below message E1MARCM-BESKZ differs on each plant and also has a corresponding warehouse view E1MLGNM where for example LHMG1 value differs for each warehouse.
      <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>

    so in this example above:
    Receiver 4911 (WERKS) should receive:
    F + 2020 (BESKZ + LHMG1)
    Receiver 4912 (WERKS) should receive:
    F + 2323 (BESKZ + LHMG1)
    Receiver 5020 (WERKS) should receive:
    F + 2424 (BESKZ + LHMG1)
The problem is all these 3 messages are delivered to all the 3 plants thus making it 9 messages delivered in total as against 3.

  • XI Bulk Message Handling

    Hi Expert,
I need to send around 200,000 records as one message from R3 side to 3rd party through PI. I am using proxy to FTP scenario and use SOAP adapter type, XI 3.0 message protocol (use AAE) for proxy. Since the message size is too big, I got an error when I send out "HTTP response contains status code 400 with the description Bad Request". Can anybody tell me how to handle this situation? I see Soap adapter has an option "XI Bulk Message Handling - split XI Bulk Messages". Can anybody tell me if this can solve my problem? And how to use it?
    Thanks a lot!
    Charles

You might want to use Message Packaging. This might be helpful for perfromance improvement and throughput will be considerably increased.

  • When Waking From Sleep: 'You Need to Restart your Computer' Message Appears

About once a month, when my computer goes to sleep and I wake it up again I get the dreaded 'You need to restart your computer message'. Like I said, it only happens about once a month and not every time I wake it up.
I did upgrade my memory to 8GB a few months ago but I don't suspect that this is the cause since I only get this message once in a while.
When I checked my Crash log I found the following info:

Can anyone interpret this crash log and help me find out what's going on?

What would help more is the panic.log entry. See, Mac OS X- How to log a kernel panic.
Superficially, I'd say uninstall your Shockwave and/or Flash plug-ins.

  • "you need to restart your system" message

    Hi
I need some serious help here....It all started a while after installing 10.4.8. At first the system would just crash randomly, i.e. I'd get the spinning ball but I couldn't trace it back to any specific task, it was either when reading from my external drive, or listening to music or reading my mail.
First thing I did was to take out the 256 MB memory module I had together with my 1GB one, because I know that could cause some problems. But it did nothing. After a verify disk, I got an "Invalid sibling link" thing which I read was quite serious, so what I did was backed up everything and re-installed the whole system deleting the hard disk.
Soon after install (10.4.8 again) I had a huge problem with my external drive: it would hang for no apparent problem when I was trying to copy files from it back to the hard disk...Especially big chunks of files, like the Itunes music library. The thing is that sometimes if I tried again say three times in the end it would copy the files, so there was nothing corrupted with a single file. From a Verify disk thing my Lacie external drive was fine. I read a post about problems with the power adaptor so what I did was plug it into another socket and after that it seemed to be working ok. Now that I copied everything back, I get the "you need o restart your system" message, again for no apparent reason. I was trying to back up my Itunes library to DVD (seeing that Lacie drives are not that reliable after all), and when I got back to the MAC, the screen saver was on, when I moved the mouse, the screen went grey and the message came up. The DVD was fine, it was just waiting for another one. Same thing the second time. Another time I was just doing ordinary things...so I really can't understand what the problem is.
    I ran hardware test: fine
    Verify disk: fine
    Repair disk permissions: ok
I disconnected all external peripherals: I got the "you need to restart" message after burning to Itunes anyway
I really don't know what to do to understand where the problem lies... ANYONE COULD HELP PLEASE?
    I'm desperate.

  • How can we restart the  Error Messages

    Hi,
I have a Secnario like  JDBC- To - RFC(R/3)   .. here my Receiver(R/3 system was down in particular time..  so, the messages was  not processed successfully..
but after the R/3  server was up .. the  remaing messages are processed normally.. except the   those messages are failured in that particular time server was down..
if  I saw in SXMB_MONI.. the message was showing  (system error--  System Error - Restart is not possible... )   so, how can we  solve this issue..
How can we restrt the  messages  from SXMB_MONI..
    Regards
    jain

    Hi Jain,
You cant restart the synchronous messages nor u can restart it............Hence the messages regarding synchronous issues cant be solvable.....The only way you have is to Resend the same data by again posting it in the Outbound Folder (Outbound side or sender side).........So once the sychrouns message failed means then it is unslovable ......So just follow the above mentioned way of resending the data by posting in the Out folder......................
    Reward with points if helpful

  • Processing bulk Messages

    Hi,
I have SOAP to Proxy scenario. I am expecting bulk messages (approx 100) from the third party at a time.
They sent around 30 requests at one go and XI was able to process on 15 and for rest it has throw exception.
Is there any way we can handle bulk messages?
    Thanks

    Hi ,
You can go for message packaging in PI .

  • Restart of Synchronous messages in BPM

    Hi All:
I have one scenerio(using BPM). BPM is sending message to JDBC(Asyn lets say system A) and HTTP(Sync lets say system B).
I am sending message to both system A and B using Fork, but when system B is down I am seeing I got the Error in response and found restart of message is not possible.
Now if again I send the same message then it will be duplication of records in system A as I am only inserting records in system A.
How can I achive it in BPM??? so I can avoid the duplication in system A.
    Thanks
    Farooq.

    Hi,
use async mode to system B
this way in case of an error it will be restarted
