Restart of PO workflow

Hi All,
We need to change the approval workflow because User 1 has already left Company last month.
Finance has changed cost center owner & WBS owner to MGR's upper manager.
Now for restarting the workflow , we have changed Internal Note in PO for not making influence to outside.
The restart WF seems good. We can see the upper manager's name in preview.
The, press ORDER button
We got the message in the Approval TAB as DISPLAY MIGHT NOT BE UP TO DATE.SELECT REFRESH.
When again select Refresh & then press "ORDER" it pop the same in the approval screen of the PO
finally WF goes back to previous route unexpectedly.WF recognizes who is the approver, but not updating.
ButWHEN change the delivery date, the WF updated and PO goes to correct manager.
The restart WF seems good. We can see the upper manager's name in preview. Same as failed case
The, press ORDER button
WF requires to refresh the screen. Sa as failed case
WF is finally routed correctly
I want to know why PO Workflow is not happing when Change in Internal text & But successfully happening when Delivery date is changed

Thanks for the Reply.
But the same was succesfull in Test system with Internal note text change
This is the only field where in they are eligible to make internal changes beacuse of trigerring the Woflow again.
Basically The system Restarts the WF & finds the correct approver after change in Internal note.But then when we press Order button of the PO we get the message.
is it like the refresh button is not working as it should work.??

The user has created a shopping cart with 1000 USD. The process schema has three process level with the first level being approval with completion.
The first level being executed by the responsible purchaser. Here, the purchaser adds the source of supply and changes the price of the shopping cart 2000 USD and approve the shopping cart.

Hi,
Restarting workflow goes to 1st level approval step. It is not requester.
I think you need to set condition for "Acceptance by Contact Person" in Define Process Level.

Restart error status workflow

Hello All,
We have few workflow items with status error due some missing agents. we have assigned the agents.
Now user asking us to restart or retrigge the same workflow item .
But when I tried to restart using SWIA getting message like ' Workflow cannot be restarted in status ERROR'
Is ther any possibility to restart ? If it's not how to get the same material name to reuse ....

Hi,
1. You can restart the same workflow by using the Transcation SWPR
2. If you the problem still exists then please re-trigger the new workflow and delete the error workflow.
   a. Please use transaction SWUS_WITH_REFERENCE to trigger the new workflow where you need to pass the workflow
       instance number
b. You can also use transaction SWUS to trigger the workflow where you need to pass all the required workflow container
      element values
Note : while using SWUS_WITH_REFERENCE all the required values will be fetched from the workflow instance number. No need to pass manualy.

Can I restart a failed workflow automatically

I'm submitting info online and sometimes the workflow will fail due to slow connection. Before my workflows start I have 1 workflow to start the HD spinning up which has helped but that hasn't fixed the problem completely. From what I have read I need to run a python script I think to restart...
Any ideas?

Thanks! This was the key I needed. It didn't work on first try, but once I signed out, restarted, then signed back in to the store, it did start... it's downloading now!

How to restart an workflow if ended in error at SEND Mail step.

Hello All
      I am facing some problem in restarting the error workflow.
Issue is:
   Workflow ended in error at the mail notification step, since the mail id is not filled into the container so there is no address (mail id) and ended in error.
   How to restart these kinds of workflow in the system?, we have tried to change the container value by assigning mail id and restarted the workflow but still went into error.
Is it possible to restart an workflow which ended in error other than rule resolution.

I think you went in the write approach. I think you have to change the container properly by populating the ADDRESSTRING container element. Also check whether type of email recipient in your container is et to Email.

How to schedule restart of Workflow notification mailer?

We are facing this issue in all environments including production;
Inbound IMAP Notification emails are pending in the INBOX folder of the mail box. These moves to PROCESS folder only after restart of the 'WORKFLOW NOTIFICATION MAILER' every 3 to 4 hours.
I have raised an SR with Oracle support for a solution.
For this temporary workaround of restarting the Notificaiton mailer, I want to know how can I schedule the automatic restart of the 'WORKFLOW NOTIFICATION MAILER', Please advice.

How to restart the the workflow after dump. I know the t-code SWPC. But the workflow is not displaying in this transaction.
Will i have to delete it logically and restart with reference.

Workflow for payment release

Hello ,
I have done the configuration of workflow variant for payment release but the invoice with the payment block can be paid without any release approval .
Find below the configuration done for it . SPRO-Accounts Receivable and Payable-Business Transactions-Release for payment
1.t.code PPoce: Users is assigned to each position and this was assigned to approval path
2. Create workflow variant

3.Assign Company code to workflow variant
4.Define Release Approval Groups for Release for Payment
5.Define Release Approval Paths for Release for Payment
6.Assign Release Approval Paths for Release for Payment
7.Assign Release Approval Procedure for Release for Payment

9.Define Users with Authorization to Payment Release
11.Define Payment Block Reason for Payment Release ( payment block P selected with a tick in Not changeable )
Then in the vendor master i have inputted the relase group also and the payment term which is having the block .
While executing f-02 , debiting the expense and crediting the vendor , I get the following error Line item not relevant for payment release for which i changed the message to warning and saved it . but when i executed f-53, it doesnt go for approval .
But in my inbox . the item is flowed with red colour and the erro log is

Diagnosis
The system could not determine a subworkflow for the payment release. Check the workflow Customizing for the payment release, in particular the settings for transaction OBWE and the preceeding settings.
The message is output from the method SUBWFDETERMINE of the BOR object BSEG.
System Response
The workflow was started, but the system could not create an executable dialog workitem for the line item payment release. However, you cannot release the document directly, it must be released in the workflow. A subworkflow for the payment release must be determined in the sample workflow WS00400012; the clerks are determined in role 00400125.
Role 00400125 is based on the function module PR_WF_ACTOR1_DET.
Procedure
Change the payment release Customizing in Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Accounting. SAP delivers a sample subworkflow for payment release, WS00400011.
Procedure for System Administration
Restart the incorrect workflow (transaction SWPR) once you have maintained the Customizing for the payment release.
Kindly guide me . and let me know which setting i have missed .

Have you tested those workflows separately? I can't even view WS00400012 in my ECC 6.0 system!
The workflows supplied by SAP are usually pretty bare-bones. More ofthen than not you have to copy them and fix them up.
You might be able to test them via SWUS or trigger them via SWUE.
If you create a new copy, remember to put that in the customizing.

Invoice BUS2205 Workflow

All-
We are working on a SRM 5.0 (Classic Scenario Implementation). We have implemented the 2 step Invoice workflow along with other workflows. The business requirement is as follows:
1.) Requester creates invoice
2.)Special approver changes/Updates accounting data and approves.
3.) Once approved, the invoice Work item has to goto the next approver for approval without re-triggering the approval
Problem
1.) Requester creates invoice
2.) Special Approver changes/updates accounting data and approves.
3.) Once approved, the work item is again in the special approvers inbox with a notification sent to the requester (No Work item with accept changes button is sent to the requester, like in a SHC) that the invoice has been changed.
To tackle this problem, we are using the BADI BBP_WFL_SECUR_BADI and flipping the authorization level of the user from "Medium" to "High" when accounting data has been changed. Even after doing so, the workflow is retriggering and the work item is sitting again in the special approvers inbox.
We also found out that the Workflow is not even hitting the BBP_WFL_SECUR_BADI.
Question?
1.) Does anybody know if this BADI can also be used for Business Object BUS2205. I know that we have used this BADI for our past clients for Confirmations but i am not sure if it can be used for BUS2205 Invoice?
2.) Is there any setting that needs to be accomplished to stop this behaviour? How can we avoid this behaviour?

I don't think the BADI - BBP_WFL_SECUR_BADI will help in solving this issue.
Try this ->
You can use the AUTHORISE_FOR_CHANGE method of the BBP_CHNG_AGNT_ALLOW BAdI to prevent approvers from being changed.
If the workflow is not working as expected, see SAP Note 322526 Analysis for workflow problems.
I guess, that the workflow conditions are not properly configured or this might be due to some OSS note missing in the system.

im receiving this error on our event log - workflow, with event ID 359: i tried to restart the IIS of the Workflow Server no Luck, and then did the restart of the workflow backend service, still the same and finally i restarted the whole production server.

do this workflow is a custom workflow?
is there any steps that we can try to reproduce the issue in our lab?
is there any other error from the ULS log that you able to find regarding this workflows?

Bunch of workflows just got stuck in the production... may be close to 300!

The stuck workflows doesnot have error statuses, it is just stuck. Does'nt come up in ST22 or whatever. I need these going... Should I restart them? Well these happened exactly at the same time when the production environment was very slow yesterday... Please let me know the best way to solve.. Appreciate your help in advance...

Hi Sukumar,
Just execute SWPC tcode for the particular date range. If all the workflows are stcuk they will appear here. Before restarting check the workflow log (Step History) tab of the workflow log and diagnose each step why the workflows where. You can Continue workflow using the same tcode (SWPC) if they were really stuck.

According to your description,my understanding is you want to add a new workflow to the completed list item.
a) If yes, then you need to follow the same process attaching the workflow to the list/library and while deploying the workflow you should select the option "Allow this workflow to be manually started.......".
Go to the workflow completed list item and start the workflow which was created newly in the above step.
b) If your query is want to restart the same workflow for completed list item then,
You need to go to the workflow completed list item-->workflows-->start/click on the workflow again.
To do this, you might have selected the option "Allow this workflow to be manually started......." while attaching the workflow to the list.
