Restart of SOA Suite server = Manually restart all running BPEL processes?

Hi,
Is it true that in SOA Suite 10.1.3 you have to manually restart all running BPEL process if you restart the SOA Suite? And that this was working in 10.1.2?
If it is true, how do people handle that? We might have thousands of processes waiting in Waiting state on the server so this sounds like a nightmare. :-)

Yes, I was a bit surprised too, that is why I am asking. :-) I was a colleague that told me that it was not working in 10.1.3. But I should just go and check it out.

I've installed SOA Suite 10.1.3.1.0 with an Oracle 10g Enterprise Dehydration Database on a separate server. Currently we have two BPEL Domains, however, when trying to launch the BPEL Console, I do not get a drop down list to select between the two domains. I've searched and so far none of the answers seem to fit.

Even , I am facing the same problem .
If I go to BPEL Admin , there also I am not getting the Domain List .
I reinstalled all the process and again I instllaed the 10.1.2 BPEL Process .
Again did the same thing that is creating user, tablespace etc in Linux Machine .
Still not getting the default Domain ...
Please suggest me where I am wrong ....

Unable to Harvest a SOA composite from SOA suite server to OER11g

I wanted to harvest a SOA composite from SOA suite server to OER11g.For that i had followed this portion *5.2.6.1 Harvesting from Oracle SOA Suite Server* from Oracle® Fusion Middleware Configuration Guide for Oracle Enterprise Repository11g Release 1 (11.1.1) E16580-01 document.
The Version of OER is : OER 11.1.1.2.0 , the version of SOA suite is : 11.1.1.3.0 and the version of SOA weblogic server is :10.3.3
OER and SOA domain are different but under the same Middleware home.
Database is also located at same machine.
The steps i had followed:
1.The User of the weblogic server has these three roles i.e 1. Admin 2. Operator 3. Monitor
2.Unzip the Harvester.zip into the repository location.
3.Modified the <RemoteQuery> section and OER section of HarvesterSettings.xml file
4.using encrypt.bat file encrypted the password.
5.executed the harvester.bat file

You have to import the OER-Harvester-Solution-Pack located at C:\Oracle\Middleware\repository111\core\tools\solutions\11.1.1.4.0-OER-Harvester-Solution-Pack.zip
(path may change under your custom installation) to the OER using the admin option import/export -> import

it basically oc4j server started from opmn. is there anyway i can pass the "-ojvm -XXdebug,port4000,detached,quiet" to opmn?

How to know server/node name inside a BPEL process in a clustered env

We have a clustered environment of 4 nodes, we know that one of the BPEL Process on one of the nodes is not functioning normally. One way we isolated the problem is to test through Java Delivery API on each of the individual nodes through BPEL Console. However this is time consuming. If we want to implement an error handling mechanism, where we can format the name of the server/node of the cluster on which the BPEL process is getting executed it will be great. I couldn't find any Xpath Extension Function to retrieve the node /server name easily inside a BPEL process. There are functions to retrieve the domain, process name, version etc... but I'm trying to find something like ora:getRMIHostName() and ora:getRMIPort(). I can retrieve the few entries such as hostname.rmi from the return value of java.lang.System.getProperties () inside Embedded Java Code Step but not sure how safe it is to do so.

The issue is resolved as below.
Change the directory to the dir of individual process suitcase dir and run the bellow command
$ORACLE_HOME/bpel/bin/bpelc.sh -rev 1.0 -deploy default

Rename SOA suite server

I've had to rename a linux server running soa suite 10.1.3.1 (servername was localhost, a bit problematic in bpel wsdl's). I've restarted the server, redeployed my bpel processes, but the wsdl for the bpel processes still shows the old server name in the service port soap address. How do i inform the bpelpm of the new hostname?

Errors while Starting SOA Suite and Unable to login to BPEL Control

I installed SOA Suite 10g Release 3 on my laptop and I have Windows XP operating system on my laptop.
I am trying to login to BPEL control.
I did following steps.
a) started SOA Suite (Mid tier status is showing as 100%) but OC4JGroup:default_group status is showing as Init and ASG status as Down.
b) I tried to login to BPEL control by entering user id: oc4jadmin and password I entered while installing SOA Suite, BPEL control is giving me error message invalid user name or password.
I tried to build CreditRatingService using BPEL developer prompt.
Select Start > All Programs > Oracle - Oracle_Home > Oracle BPEL Process Manager > Developer Prompt to open up a command prompt at the SOA_Oracle_Home\bpel\samples directory.
Changed directories to the utils\CreditRatingService subdirectory:
cd utils\CreditRatingService
Entered the following command: ant
I got message:BUILD FAILED and Authentication failed for user oc4jadmin on host.

SOA Suite Demo MIMEService - cannot be run/debug in this release.

Hi,
I'm getting the error message "MimeService.bpel cannot be run/debug in this release" after opening the example project in JDeveloper and selecting "Run".
Compilation works fine though:
Successful compilation: 0 errors, 0 warnings.
I installed the SOA Suite 10.1.3.1 and also tried it after updating to 10.1.3.3.
For JDeveloper I have tried v10.1.3.1 and v10.1.3.2
Any suggestions?

You can not run a BPEL process in JDeveloper, you can only deploy it to the SOA server and test it from there.

We are using SOA Suite 11.1.1.6 and in one of the projects we have requirement to retrieve custom SOAP header value.
This is enhancement to existing process which is developed using BPEL 1.1 and deployed to Production. So we cannot convert this now to BPEL 2.0
We suggested to use custom XML element in Header the definition of which will be defined in custom XSD and stored in common location. However the 3rd party who are invoking this service will not be able to do any customization in their process to pass custom XML header.
Please can you help me in providing any approach through which we can retrieve custom Header value from SOAP header using BPEL 1.1
I have read some blogs for retrieving the custom XML header but they are using BPEL 2.0. I would like achieve this functionality using BPEL 1.1

Have you've tried to put the bpex:outputHeaderVariable on the invoke activity of the invoked service.
<invoke name="Invoke"
bpelx:outputHeaderVariable="HeaderVariable"/>
Where the "HeaderVariable" reflects the XSD Datastructure of the received header.
This is also specified here in section 6.19.1 How to Receive SOAP Headers in BPEL
Please note that the exact header must be specified in the WSDL of the invoked service.
Also note that in case of a soap fault. No header will be returned from the invoked service but only a /soap/body/fault part.

BPEL server is unable to run any process - message ORABPEL-02152 in logs

Hello,
We have a problem with Oracle BPEL Process Manager on production environment. 2 days ago processes using table pooling stopped working correctly. Status for new record in pooled table was changed (logical
delete - table update) but process didn't execute next steps (no log messages).
Restarting OC4J_BPEL resolved problem.
But now message ORABPEL-02152 constantly appears in domain log and all processes stop working. Deployed
simple HelloWorld from examples - it does not work too.
Meantime some bug fixes mainly for connection to RAC database were applied. Patch list

Steps taken for now.
1. Check connection to BPEL store - ok free space in database exists
2. This is not an issue with BPEL console - process instance does not show in BPEL console and does not work at all
3. Search forum and metalink for similar issues ;-)
I think this a problem with store but how can I diagnose this. I read Metalink document Note:372456.1 "How to configure BPEL 10.1.2.0.2 to operate with an Oracle 10g RAC dehydration store" but I don't understand if changing data-source class to "com.evermind.sql.ICCXADataSource" is a must or is is optional task.
So, any suggestions how to start resolving this issue. What should i check first ?

Is this select should return any rows if the process instance is correctly stored in database ?

How is licensed the Oracle Service Bus? wasnt it part of the SOA Suite?

it is not clear for us how the oracle service bus is licensed, in terms that we thought it was included on the Oracle SOA Suite , we are referring to newer releases
is it licensed a part from the soa suite?

so just to put it clear, In case in which we are licencing both weblogic an soa suite the enterprise edition the OSB is included on the licence fee right?

Issue in starting soa suite 10g server in win 7

I recently upgraded my personal laptop to a new laptop with win 7 and hence trying to install all my oracle software from my old laptop to new one.
So far I have installed the following software - Oracle Developer Suite 10g, Oracle XE 11g, Oracle jDev Studio 11g ADF, Oracle Soa Suite 10g
All installation are working fine except the "Oracle Soa Suite 10g".
After installation, the server is starting fine and I am able to log into the Oracle Application Server 10g EM console.
But when I restart my system, I am not able to start the soa suite 10g.
If I run the "opmnctl start" from command line, a new command window is opening and closing immediately.
I am not able to find out the issue.
Can somebody please help me to identify the issue?
While installing the soa suite 10g, I had set the compatibility settings to "Win XP Service Pack 3", which was there in my old laptop.

Problems in starting Admin server for soa suite in windows 7 homebasic

Hi All,
I installed SOA Suite R1 in my laptop running windows 7 home basic version.
Its 64 bit OS but I installed the files in win32 folder as it didn't allow me to install the generic file and even win64 file.
installation was successful but after installation once I try to start the weblogic admin server using
startAdminServer.cmd through my command prompt. It is running for few seconds and command prompt is getting closed abruptly and nothing comes up.
It's very strange and I am not able to find out... Please help me.

Ideally you should be able to set up the 64-bit generic installer not sure of the reason...
Please use the correct version of 64 bit jdk and check the logs
You can check out the weblogic admin server logs

how can a dotnet application talk with unix operating system using Oracle SOA Suite? I have to automate a process on unix server like create user through dotnet application.. is it possible?
My dotnet application is used for creating users, granting access on the servers. Some servers are 21C servers and some are legacy servers. In this dotnet application a user make certain request for the rights on those servers e.g. create user, give access rights, change password. This application is treated as user interface and maintaining tool of all this information and later on the basis of that request it generates the job-sheet. This job sheet is forwarded to responsible engineer who further provisions the request manually by going to that specific server in the request. So I want to automate this process that when user put any access or create user request then the moment he puts the request, that request should be provisioned without any human intervention i.e. automatically users must be created or password must be changed. I believe you will get an enough idea about my problem from all above information. So please help me.
