Restart on primary database restarts the recovery process on standby

We have a dataguar broker configuration running in maximum perfromance mode.
Every time we start the primary database, the recovery process on standby gets restarted.
I can consistently reproduce teh problem. Looks like expected behaviour.
Even if standby is in read only mode and restart the primary database it bring the database back in recovery mode.
Any explanation why oracle needs to do it?

When ever you bounce the database also MRP process will be started automatically.
By disabling broker you can avoid automatic startup, BTW Standby should be in recovery mode, i think no need to worry on this.
If you want to disable as per time, you can disable it as below
ALTER SYSTEM SET DG_BROKER_START=FALSE ;

  • How do I restart the downloading process?

My computer is stating that the disk image is failing to mount and error 105 is occuring. Will restarting the downloading process help? If so, how do I restart it?

  • HT204406 I turned on iTunes Match 8 days ago, but all it does it restart the syncing process again half way through - any ideas?

So, 8 days ago we decided to subscribe to iTunes Match.  It's been trying to sync ever since (i.e. it gets half way through step 2 and then restarts the whole process again).  Any idea as to why it's doing this?  Any ideas as to what we can do to fix this?

sounds like you may just want to re-match your library.
easiest way to do so if it never finished it to turn iTunes match off, then back on (and add this computer). that will analyze your library once more and upload or match any songs that need to be.
Store > Turn off iTunes Match
    then
Store > Turn on iTunes Match

That's usually a symptom of a phone that was hacked or jailbroken to unlock it.

  • Facing an error while restarting the services : Process Manager is not initialized.

while setting up the MDM environment I somehow messed up all the database connections.
Now im unable to start or stop the services properly.
Below is the error shown in the event viewer log for process MDM Ntier Process manager :
The description for Event ID ( 3 ) in Source ( MDM NTier Process Manager ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: Exception Emdm_Exception with message 'Process Manager is not initialized.'.
    Kindly help
I suspect this is because incorrect password for Engine login MDM_SYSTEM or incorrect configuration file (config.xml), However i may be wrong.

As far as the "Process Manager is not initialized" error is concerned, we got the same error recently.
What we did was restart the DRM services on the server - The N-Tier Client and the Web-Publisher.
However, after doing it - we still got the error or DRM would not respond. On looking through it again, we saw that the Task Manager on the Server did not kill the DRM processes and so we did it manually. Then we restarted the services and it worked fine this time. See if this works for you - first kill all the services on the client sides and then on the server side, check for the client and server side process task manager and then restart the service. This worked for us, hopefully it works for you too.

  • How can I restart the conversion process?

When I installed I-tunes the program started converting my WMA files to the AAC format. I let it run all day but at the end of the day I had to shut down the computer, so I stopped the process figuring it would restart when I restarted the program the next day. It does not do that. The only way I can find to do the conversion is one album at a time. Is there a way to restart the automatic conversion process?
    Compaq Presario v5000   Windows XP

I don't know of an automated way to do it, but it is easy enough to do it yourself in one large batch. Note I use a Mac version of iTunes and still use iTunes6, but the following should be more or less the same anyway.
Right click the headings in your library and you will get a pop up of all the different headings. Turn on "Type" by checking it. Type is a column showing the encoding method (e.g. AAC, MP3, AIFF, WAV, etc.). Now you can click on this heading to sort your library by encoded Type. So now all the WAV files should be grouped together. You can now easily select the entire batch of WAV files, right click, and pick "Convert to xxx" where xxx is the encoder type you currently have set in your preferences for importing files. So if it is not in the format you want, go to preferences and change it. Once you pick the Convert function it will convert all the selected files to the new format.
Note that converting makes a copy leaving the original in place. So the other advantage of having the ability to sort and select a large number of files by Type is that you can also select all the WAV files to delete in one step after you have converted them all.

  • Exchange Server 2010 SP3 Databases are not mounting after the recovery process

    Hi,
We are using Exchange server 2010 SP3 in our office. Databases are stored in an ISCSI drive mapped with the exchange. We are taking daily full backup of my Exchange server using Symantec Backup exe 2012. As a testing purpose I created a test environment
same like my existing live environment to check the disaster recovery and backup. Thankfully disaster recovery worked well and I am able to open the exchange management console and powershell. But I am not able to mount the recovered databases ending
with an error saying "Couldn't mount the database that you specified. Specified database: officialrecover; Error code:
An Active Manager operation failed.........." and even I am not able to use the utility eseutil.exe to the database with an error "access to source database failed with jet error 1811". I am able to create a new database and mount
    it.
I am using Windows Server Ent 2008 R2 64 Bit with Exchange Server 2010 SP3 in the Live environment with 3 partitions called C (279 GB), E (4.46 TB, ISCSI), F (976 GB) in my Live environment.
    For test it is Windows Server Ent 2008 R2 64 Bit with Exchange Server 2010 SP3 with 3 partitions C (240 GB), E (1.4 TB), & F (240 GB).
Please help me with your valid comments to solve and mount the database and close the issue for ever.
    With Regards
    Jay

Jared is correct that in essence the message is saying the DB cannot be found.
When you restored to your recovery server are all the paths the same, i.e. if the DB existed on E:\XYZ on the production server it must be the same on the recovery server
When you restored into the recovery site do you have AD restored into that site as well?
For the recovery server are you using iSCSI storage for it as well?   If so am I correct to assume that you have copies of the databases just for use on this server and are not trying to reference the same instance of the DB from the production
    and test/recovery server?
I have also seen an issue where DB's getting written to disk from Symantec mess up the header of the DB.  If you want to validate that the DB is actually intact and accessible you might want to check out our DigiScope product
http://www.lucid8.com/product/digiscope.asp using a free DEMO license.  If it works i.e. you are able to mount in DigiScope from same location where its failing on the recovery server we know the
DB your pointing at is good and accessible from the current path but something else is amiss in your configuration
Search, Recover, & Extract Mailboxes, Folders, & Email Items from Offline Exchange Mailbox and Public Folder EDB's and Live Exchange Servers or Import/Migrate direct from Offline EDB to Any Production Exchange Server, even cross version i.e. 2003 -->
    2007 --> 2010 --> 2013 with Lucid8's

  • Start recovery process on standby database after Windows reboot

    Hi all,
I have a data guard configuration on Oracle 10.2.0.4 for Windows.
What I need is to mount and start recovery process automatically after Windows Server restart.
How can I do that ?
    Thanks in advance.

    Here's what I found :
    sleep 60
    REM Start the database
    %ORACLE_HOME%\bin\sqlplus -s "/ as sysdba" @startup.sql
    exit
    startupmount.sql -- Copy this under ORACLE_HOME/bin directory
    -- start the database
    startup mount
    alter database recover managed standby database disconnect from session;
exitSorry, no way to test on my end.
The other thought is to hack oradim
But I'm thinking this might only do the startup mount.
    Best Regards

This would need some work but it may help
    @echo off
    sc query "OracleOraDb11g_home1TNSListener" | findstr /i running
IF "%ERRORLEVEL%"=="0" (GOTO :RUNNING) ELSE (GOTO :STOPPED)
    :STOPPED
    ECHO NOT RUNNING
net start "OracleOraDb11g_home1TNSListener" | sc query "OracleServiceSCT" | findstr /i running | if NOT "%errorlevel%"=="0" net start oracleservicesct
    GOTO :END
    :RUNNING
    ECHO RUNNING
net stop "OracleOraDb11g_home1TNSListener" | sc query "OracleServiceSCT" | findstr /i running | if "%errorlevel%"=="0" net stop oracleservicesct

  • When i insert my recovery disk from hp nothing comes up to start the recovery process

i just got the three windows 7 recovery disks from hp in mail(application and driver recovery dvd, and the two system recovery dvds) and when i put first system recovery disk in nothing comes up for me to start recovery what can i do

    Hi:
When you boot from the DVD drive with disk 1 in the DVD-ROM drive, nothing happens?
You need to restart the PC, and at the HP welcome screen, tap the F9 key to get the boot menu.  You then select the DVD-Rom to boot from and then follow the on screen prompts and instructions.

  • Boot selection fails before the recovery process begins

    HP Pavilion DV6 QJ926AV#ABA
    Windows 7 64-bit
I'm trying to use the recovery feature on my two month old laptop, but, I'm already running into an issue with the recovery fuction. When ever I try to restore the laptop to the factory settings I get an error msg after it restarts, stating this:
    Status: 0xc0000225
Info: Boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible
For whatever reasons the boot manager isn't working. Seeing how this is a brand new laptop, I hope that I wont have to pay for a recovery disk if I have a faulty computer.

Does it still boot into Windows OK?
If it does, make your own recovery disc set,
in the search bar on the Start Menu type: Recovery
then run the HP Recovery Manager program to make your discs, then use thoise discs to recover the notebook.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=c01895783#WhenCreate
If you cannot boot into Windows, then call HP and request a free set of discs since you cannot use the recovery partition or get into Windows, they should wave the fee for you.

  • Field changes restart the reviewer process

    Hi
Is it possible to configure the Change Management system, so that if a Change Record has been approved, and the Initiator then changes the scheduled start/finish date/time, then the approvals are reset and the CR has to be re-approved ?
    Thanks
    Rob

Bacically this is possible in the SCSM console. You can use the "Return to Activity" task.
You can also use a SCSM workflow and PowerShell to automate this (get all activities -> modify status of Review Activity to "In Progress", set alll other activities after the Review Activity on status "Pending").
Or use an Orchestrator runbook for automation.
