Restart problem with 5800 XM

Hi all,
i just buy nokia 5800 xm, and it was great...but i found a strange problem ! when i do servel prosses together like : open video + recive bluetouth , or open a music + browsing the internet....ext ) the phone sometimes suddenly restart  ! and the screen slowly tun off, then the phone automatically switch on  .
i try to update my phone software to the last ver 40.0.005 but the problem still !
what can i do ?
and what u think the problem is? software or hardware ?
btw im sure that ther is no virus especially i format the phone (hard format )
regards

It could be two reasons:
1. A system file on your card is corrupted, maybe a file for the task manager app. To check, remove the card, perhaps replace it with a newly formatted one and try to recreate the problem. If the problem does not occur if there is no card or using a newly formatted one, you need to either run a diskcheck on your old card, or if that fails, format it.
2. RAM issues. Some of your apps are memory leaking, and you arent able to manage your RAM properly. I would advise you to Google for tutorials on signing apps and look for Memcheck and KillMe.

  • Software Problem with 5800

    Hi,
I am using 5800 with the software version V 30.0.011. My set gets hanged when during an incoming call or  an incoming message. the ringtone stays stuck so is the vibration... I cant stop it by any ways .. The only way is removing  my battery.Cant even switch it off.
Is this a usual problem with 5800??

No it is not. Is the phone new? Also your software may be updated. The latest version if v40.
Also please check if the problem still occurs if the memory card is not inserted.

  • Nokia 5800 Restart Problem with the Memory Card

    hi,
i am facing a peculiar problem with my 5800.i hv firmware v21.
Whenever i restart the phone with the sd card inserted (it has around 35+apps/games loaded but 4.3GB of memory is free) ;the phone hangs up at the "nokia" screen & i hv to remove the battery.on ejecting the card & then restarting; the phone starts up fine.on inserting the card later after the restart; it is read without any problems by the phone & all the apps. work fine.i do not hv any apps loaded for start up.
i saw similar problems posted in some other topics for 5800;but could not get a clear idea whether this problem was occuring in other phones as well.Is it firmware related or due to large no. of apps on the phone?
    please help.

it is most likely the corrupt memory card issue, it happens quiet often. that is why back up is so essential to have especially of memories and such. for that i use share online and upload my pics right away to ovi or vox whichever.
the programs  you bought you should be just able to download once again and plug in the key you have gotten with your applicatioins. you should be able to recover all of your purchases. i am sorry for your pics for those can't be recovered
i always keep a separate email folder for all my application keys so i can find they easily as phones and memory does get corrupt. i can do it relatively quickly and have the info handy even on the go

  • Restart problem with cd in drive

So it all started when trying to close a program and the system wouldn't allow it. I tried to restart it but it wouldn't do it. So I shut it down by holding the power button. When restarting it sent me to a blue screen with the spinner, then eventually to a screen with the arrow...but nothing else loaded. An additional problem with this, is the cd in the disc drive, so I can't use reboot discs. I tried holding shift to send me to safe mode, but it didn't work. Then I tried to eject the disc using the mouse button. After I did this, when restarting, it sends me to a system needs to restart screen! So now I have the restart screen, and a cd in the drive! How can this be fixed!?

    hi there-
try booting to open firmware holding apple-option-o-f and then type in the following command-
    eject cd (hit return)
    reboot (hit return)
then i suggest you try the steps outlined in this article for the blue screen. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106464 if nothing else works, you will have to archive and install the operating system. here is an article which outlines that procedure. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107120. you will have to reinstall third party software and do software update afterwards, but it will in almost every instance resolve the blue screen issue. good luck to you. • Problem with 5800 video playback

I am having problems with high quality playback on my 5800. When I transfer videos using high quality encoding through the OVI suite or through an external converter, and play it back on the phone, it practically never plays smoothly. it suffers from frame skips and hanging of videos in the middle of playback while the audio still continues in the background. this also holds true for the videos that came with the phone. is there any way to smooth it out. I am presently downloading the firmware update but I don't think it will fix the issue since it was not mentioned in the update list.
any help will be greatly appreciated.
    thanks.

I installed the new firmware and, as I expected, it hasn't solved the problem

  • Problems with 5800 software

I bought my cell phone about three months ago, and everything has been working perfectly by now. However, about 4 days ago, I started having problems with software: every time I try to access messaging from the main menu, nothing happens; and this same situation occurs when I tried to read a message right after receiving it.
The thing is I can not access my messages from the cell phone, and it includes all the messaging section, I just can not access, and I don't understand what is going on. Could some one help me on this? Thanks.

Did you install anything new recently?  Are all the other apps working and is Messaging the only issue? You can try a few things:
Turn the phone off and then on again
    Try a soft reset
    Try a hard reset
Note about suggestion 2 & 3 (you can find the codes to do this in several posts in the forums) make sure you have backups of all important data on the phone! You may lose information in the process.

  • Problem with 5800, call processing is too slow.

i have a problem with rejecting calls and recieving as well as dialling. it takes to much time to process. when a caller calls me they hear the dial tone for about 5 seconds then i get the call on my phone.. when i use third party software for automatic rejecting calls, the caller hears the dialtone for like 10 seconds or more then it gets rejected which is really annoying. please help me. is there a solution for this? this is not the network problem coz my sim n rejecting calls on other phones work fine. AND ALSO wen someone calls me i get the call alert like after 10 seconds, its very slow!!

Make sure you have upgraded to 1.1.1 which fixes volume problems.
Note that it will NEVER be as loud as standard cell phones but it should improve the volume so you have no problem hearing it in the car.

  • WLAN Problem with 5800 - No Gateway Reply

Hey, basically my problem is similar to most of the ones about the 5800, but I'm trying to connect to my university network, so I can't play around with any of the settings of the network, I was just wondering if anyone had connected to a network like this one, or if they have overcome the no gateway reply problem, or just if you had any advice. Thanks, Phil

    Hi,
search this forum with the following search term:
    "e65 WLAN 802.1x TKIP PEAPv0"
From the results you should get some ideas on how to proceed.
    Cheers,

  • Problems with 5800

Last week i bought N 5800 XM and I'm very disappointed. I can't open PDF docs, but this is on second place. The major problem is that when i'm deleting contacts, phone gets restarted, not on every contact, but often (on every 5th in average). I download the latest firmware, but here it comes again... I don't know what to do. Please help me

It says "Not updated" because an NSU update resets the update marker. Had you done a FOTA update meanwhile, the date you did it would show up there.
It looks like you need to reset the phone. In fact that's the first thing you should do when you get it, really, even before updating it.
Back the phone's contacts, calendar events, messages and anything else you want to except the settings. You can do this backup to the memory card (look in the file manager).
If there's any password protection on the memory card, remove that protection.
Once that's done, dial *#7370#. Supply the security code when prompted (the default is 12345 so that's what it'll be unless you've changed it.
The phone will reformat its own memory (but not the memory card) and reboot.
Go back into the file manager and restore the backup you made earlier. Also reinstate the memory card password protection if it was on before.
You'll have to redo your profile/theme/etc. settings, but that's all.

  • Problems with 5800 v 21.0.025

    Hi
After updating i have 2 new problems:
    1)
WLAN is always turning on eventhough i disable it.
This uses quite a lot of battery.
I have seen another topic regarding this, but here the Google Maps was the problem. I havn't installed this app.
Isn't there a way to completely shut off the WLAN feature then?
    2)
Message indicator. Quite nice they have reduced the blink time, and introduced an "in service" blink feature also (which i have disabled). But it happens quite often that even though i have read the SMS, then the indicator keeps flashing.

Hello everybody, I have a nokia 5800 XpressMusic and it works great. But the recent update for the version 21.0.025 has a bug( i dont really know whether if it is a bug . I am just posting the topic here because i am experiencing this issue with my own 5800). The White light (center button between the red one and the green one) continuously blinks at regular intervals even though i dont have any missed calls or unread messages. This consumes a lot of battery of my phone.
    Second thing
Wi-Fi always seems to turn on automatically. I have read all the possible options that other members have posted in here and tried that with my phone but i am very sorry to say that nnone of them worked out.
This light is the main thing i am getting annoyed at.
Is there any way to stop it when no missed calls or unread messages are present?
    Thanking you
P.S. I request nokia personnel to take this issue seriously and release a version which has all bugs rectified(possibly)
First problem u mentioned is not a problem.. it's a new function called "breathing light"
    u can deactivate it by Menu>Settings>Phone>Notification Lights>Standby br. Light>Breath. Light on/off
As for ur wifi problem, not sure what settings u've tried but for me I can turn off Wi-Fi auto detect
try this Menu>Settings>Connectivity>Wireless Lan>Options>Show WLAN availability = Never

  • Restart problem with my Nokia 110

I got nokia 110 two months before. Suddenly after I tried to run a memory card it started restarting. I have tried to restore it but fone again restarts before the restoration has completed.I have successfully restored the device using  *#7780# but problem still persists and while I am trying to restore it using *#7370# it restarts before it is completed. Kindly advise me how I can fix this problem.
Waiting for your kind reply as quickly as possible

Just Keep your phone Memory More than 5MB and delete some not important messages in your inbox (If accessible it's better to delete it all). Don't put any app on Homescreen Shortcuts and Goto Shortcuts (or any Shortcuts). By the way it is normal for a low ram phone to restart.

  • System preferences restart problem with 10.8. NEED HELP.

I updated to mountain lion a few days ago and everything seemed to be working fine. I went to try and change my notification settings and when I opened system preferences and clicked on notifactions I received a message telling be that in order to use notifications in the pref pane than I must quit and restart. Now I know this has something to do with 32 and 64 bit mode (i'm pretty sure), but when I click ok to quit and restart it opens system preferences and does the same thing again. It is just one continuos loop. The same thing also happens when I try and change the desktop background. I provided an image of what is happening below. Any help would be awesome.

    Further Update:
When I close the lid the monitor works, open lid and all screens are black with large cursor. This is definitely a buggy update.
Also System Preferences does not show the monitor even though it is working with MBPr lid down.
PS Why did it say I can edit the above message but now there is no edit button?

The only way to find an answer is knowing much more about your PC: Video card ? Memory ? Power source ? O.S. ? Peripherals ? Heat sink ? and so on. Look at your Power Source about teh dif. Volts-Amp it gives and the brand. 8)
