Restarted my macbook and then there was my macbook hard drive image and an alias
Do I drag the alias of my macbook hardrive to the trash? Did not duplicate this on purpose it just appeared after a restart

Basically, though, the version of TechTool on the AppleCare disks is not compatible with newer versions of OS X and/or Macs (I can't remember which). If you don't get a satisfactory response by posting in the appropriate iMac or OS X forum, I suggest you take your iMac to the geniuses at the Apple Store. You can set up an appointment time for the same day online before you leave home.

I try to open mozilla this last week and it will not open it for me. It sais it is open already but there is nothing on my computer. I had mcafee check for viruses and said there was none. I tryed uninstalling and reinstalling but it did not help.

Are you trying to restore as new or from a back up? Is iTunes and your computer all up to date?

I was in Zyngas/ facebook frontierville doing my thing and then this "information" came up on the scree, not as a pop-up. Panicked for a few and then realized that it could be a scam and wanting me to click on the button to do exactly what it described an attack page would do. I have a screen shot of it, no idea how to post it here, even if I can. Did I do the right thing, and how do I keep it from happening again?
What happens when we receive what seems to be a legitimate warning? My message looks like that at the 'Reported web forgery' and 'Reported attack site' links. Can we just choose to 'Ignore this warning'?

I am new to the Apple community and am having a lot of trouble. I am using a Macbook Pro and attempting to copy movies to an external hard drive for my husbands upcoming travels. I have used the "disk utility" and was able to watch the movie from my Pro but have not been able to figure out how to copy it to the external hard drive. I have a few movies on the external hard drive already but when he tries to view them from his Macbook Air or even the Pro we are unable to do so. An error message comes up and we are not able to determine what we need to do to fix this. We are not computer savvy and would appreciate if someone could explain to us how to resolve this problem. Thank you for all and any help we can get.

I did not deactivate a photoshop cs6 before there was a new "C" hard drive installed on my computer and a Win7 Pro fresh install too. How can I activate photoshop on the new hardware if I can't deactivate it on the old hardware that is no longer available? Any help will be appreciated.
If it's the same machine (same CPU) there should not be any need to activate. The actiovation is tied to your CPU.

I have goot some issue with my Macbook i7, I am not able to start my Macboook its keep showing the Grey screen after login.
I have done something where I have successully taken the OS backup on External Hardrive which was saying computer will start automatically. After this I founded a Fresh new computer but may be that was running on External hard drive.
I am **** confuse what should I do next?
Anyhelp wold be great......Delete the user account, then use the "Erase Free Space" option in the Erase tab of Disk Utility to write zeroes to the drive. Stick with the "Fastest" method (one pass of zeroes) unless you're hiding secrets from the NSA - anything more stringent is a waste of time.

Can I replace my hard drive and then reboot from USB external hard drive

I've bought a new internal hard drive to go in my Macbook. I am going to backup my current internal drive to a USB external drive using Super Duper. I just wanted to check if it was at all possible that I would be able to boot up from my external USB drive after i've installed my new internal drive or whether the restore discs were my only option?
(My Macbook is quite an early one, 2Ghz Core Duo with upgraded memory to 2GB and OSX Tiger).

I am probably moving home in January/February at which point I'm thinking of cancelling my BT Vision subscription because its just rubbish now and although I still have about 7 months remaining on my current contract I'm pretty confindent that due to BT's clear inability to deliver what was promised would be enough for me to cancel without penalty for leaving it early.
Rediculous.
I've taken this up numerous times about the lack of content update in regards to the film section. I've even told BT this is why I'm cancelling my contract, but been told if I do before the contract ends I must pay £200, even though I have paid till end of contract. Got told they would refund the payments made for this bill then charge me the £200.
Also wanted to charge me £300 to upgrade to Youview as still in contract - overall BT have lost out as if they had allowed me to cancel current contract without the £200 fee, I was willing to then take out the Youview offer, which would have meant me having to subscribe for another 12 months, which also meant I would have had to keep all my other services with BT as you need Infinity to have a BT Vision account and to have Infinity you must have a BT line -
Hard drive crashed on macbook pro. now i want to recover all my photos on my iPhone (iPhone photos, favorites, stream, etc..) w/ out loosing. do i simply sync my iPhone? paranoid i will wipe iPhone photos when synching to new hard drive image and new iTunes image.
In addition, i lost all of my music when hard drive crashed (time machine backup was corrupted also), is there anyway to recover iTunes music. Music was a combination of purchased, CD's burned, diverse music library, etc.....

Is there anyone out there using a JVC Hard Drive Camera and FCP. Would like to hear what you have to say about file types, conversion, etc. Was hoping for a quicker download, but converting is taking about as much time as download tape. Any suggestions?
I "might" be able to help.
I, too have a JVC hard drive camera. Not the same model as you, and not HD, but still the same idea. One big difference between our cameras is that your camera creates a "TOD" file, and mine creates an "MOD" file. The difference between the two may void my advice, but I doubt it.
I had similar problems converting to a file useable by FCP. I finally called JVC, and they told me to get "Capty MPEG Edit EX". I dropped the fifty bucks and it works great. A little slow, but it works. I still think it's better than capturing tape.
I HAVE learned though that buying a hard drive camera was somewhat of a mistake. By compressing the video to be saved on the drive, we've already lost something. My needs don't require super high quality 3 CCD video, so it really doesn't matter that much for me. I don't know about your needs.
Secondly, I've downloaded a free program called MPEG Streamclip. It works great. It's a little quicker than Capty and it was free. Also, I took one of my MOD files and changed it to TOD, and it opened just fine. Also, when exporting with MPEG Streamclip, if you choose "Export To Quicktime", use the default "Apple Motion JPEG A" setting and choose "unscaled" for your video and 100% quality on your sound, there is no need to render in FCP. BIG time saver for me. Now, somebody that knows way more about this than I do could probably flame me and say I'm "converting crap to crappier" or something, but it looks pretty good to me, and it works for what I'm doing. -
