Restarting issue (partially solved) - Software version 1.2
Some users have mentioned a problem with their Ipods restarting on their own for no reason. It has also been suggested that this problem might be triggered by certain songs. I have had the same problem since updating to software version 1.2, AND I HAVE IDENTIFIED THE SIMILARITY IN ALL OF MY PROBLEMATIC MP3'S...
THEY ARE ALL ENCODED IN MONO
I do not have any other type of file besides MP3's on my IPOD, and as of yet, I have not had this restarting problem with ANY of my files EXCEPT FOR EVERY ONE of them that is in MONO (as opposed to stereo).
When I have some time I will try to RE-encode these songs in Stereo, and reload them into my Ipod to see what will happen. But I'm going on vacation for a week and will not be able to do this for over a week. If anyone out there has the time, please try this and let us know how it works out.
For the time being, I am removing EVERY file that is encoded in Mono from my Ipod, and hopefully this problem will disappear.
I am experiencing the same problem and this solution does NOT work:
1. From the Start menu, choose Control Panel.
2. Open the Internet Options control panel.
3. Click the Connections tab.
4. Click the LAN Settings button.
5. Select the Automatically detect settings checkbox.
6. Click OK in both windows.
7. Reopen iTunes and connect your iPod.
8. Update or Restore your iPod.
Any other helpful solutions, puh-leez???

I'm a bit lost by the whole issue of the software version, and could do with some explanation.
I understand the latest version of the software/firmware for the N82 is 20.something, wheras mine is 10.0.046. Running software updater says mine is the latest version.
Why is this? Is it possible to install a more recent version somehow?
Only reason I ask is that I have been having some unpleasant stability issues with my N82, and am hoping a more up to date software/firmware will fix some of it.Still on the subject of clueless front-line staff, I had an enlightening experience with T-Mobile's yesterday.
I had 3 queries, none of which were dealt with swiftly and precisely.
Firstly, I asked whether video calls were included in my contract. There's no indication either way in the literature I found so I suppose you have to assume that they're not. It took the girl about 5 minutes to find the information and get back to me. Even then, she couldn't give me the cost and had to go off for another 2 or 3 minutes to get that information.
Secondly, if you go to this page it clearly shows that France (where I have many contacts having lived there for ¼ century) is not one of the countries where mobile users can be sent picture messages. I asked what plans there were, if any, to increase the number of networks to which it is possible to send picture messages. The girl was adamant that the person to whom I was trying to send the MMS had incorrect settings in their phone. Then she thought I wanted to know the cost of sending an MMS.
Finally, I wanted the network unlock code for my phone (so that I can use it with non-T-Mobile SIMs). To start with, she was adamant that it was the PUK code that I was after. Then she thought it was the network migration code. Only after explaining in easy-to-understand, monosyllabic terms what this mysterious code I was after would be used for did she realize what I wanted.
Some people really shouldn't be in the positions they occupy...

Since I updated my 4S iphone to the latest iOS7 version, I can no longer close any of my apps. As a result, all my apps remain open on my phone. Even powering down and restarting does not solve the problem. Specifically, when I double-click the start button, my open app icons display. But when I hold my finger on an icon, the apps do not wiggle and display an "x" to close. Any advice... thanks?!
Double tap the Home button, then swop upwards on the App Preview (not the App Icon). Tap the Home button again when done to return to normal screen.

I tried to send a photo on my phone in a chat message. The photo locked up. I can't get back to photo stream. How do I restart phone or solve issue otherwise.
More than likely you can get the phone back by doing a reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot.

I am getting a 'MIDI timeout' error message when I open garageband. I am not using any other apps so why is this happening. Restarting does not solve the issue.
I should also add that I am using core audio, no external MIDI device and Garageband v 6.0.5. Thanks

7936 not showing software version and vlan issue
I have a 7936 that does not show the software version. I have installed the newest load on the callmanager, but still cannot see what version it is running on the phone.
My main issue with the phone is that I have to set the switchport access vlan to the voice vlan, if I try to let the phone use the swithport voice vlan, it will pull an IP address off of the data vlan and not the voice vlan.
Any help with either of these issues would be greatly appreciated. I do rate all helpful posts.
Thanks,
RobertHi Robert,
Here is some info that may help;
Verifying Firmware Version Information
You can obtain information about the firmware version installed on the IP Conference Station.
Follow these steps to verify the firmware version on an IP Conference Station:
Step 1 Press the Menu button.
Step 2 Press the Up or Down scroll button to select the Admin Setup menu.
Step 3 Press the Select button.
Step 4 Enter the administrator password. (The default administrator password is **#.)
Step 5 Press the Enter softkey.
Step 6 Press the Up or Down scroll button to select System Information.
Step 7 Press the Select button.
Step 8 Press the Up or Down scroll button to select SW Version.
The firmware version number is displayed.
Or if that is not working try accessing this way;
Using the Web Interface
Follow these steps to access the Cisco IP Conference Station 7936 web interface:
Step 1 Open your web browser.
Step 2 In the address field enter:
http:// IP address of the IP Conference Station:
Configuration information applies to the specific IP Conference Station associated with the IP address you enter.
Note If you changed the HTTP port number, you need to use that number as a suffix to the IP address. If you did not change the HTTP port number, then you do not need to enter a suffix.
The web interface appears, and the initial login page is displayed.
Step 3 To log in as the administrator, enter the administrator password and click Login.
The default administrator password is **#.
Note When logged in to the IP Conference Station web pages, the web pages will time out after approximately 20 minutes of inactivity. You will then have to log back in.
Step 4 To log off, click Administrator Logout.
Information Available on All Web Pages
The top right portion of the Cisco IP Conference Station 7936 web interface includes a separate section that displays consistent information for all of the web pages.
This section contains the following information; example text appears next to each item in the list:
Software Version: 3.3(2.00)
Protocol Type: SCCP
Boot Load ID: PC0503031418
Application Load ID: CMTERM_7936.3-3-2-0
IP Address: 10.1.1.11
MAC Address: 00c742655892
Local Number: 2022
As far as the VLAN issue goes, this has always been the case for our 7935's as well and I'm sure the 7936 is the same.
Switchport mode access
Switchport access VLAN XXX
Hope this helps!
Rob

Software version 5 - Issues?
After updating to software version 5 - it freezes on step 4 of 5 - I have restarted both the laptop and the itouch but to no avail - any suggestions?
Go to documents<pictures<find iPod photos and delete all photo cache documents. Then close iTunes, unplug your iPod. Then plug in your iPod and launch iTunes and try to sync.

The screen on my iPhone turned into an xray like display. With the assistance from Apple Support, I Upgraded the software version. But still did not resolved the issue.
Probably a setting. Look at the manual.

Another Mavericks Random Restart issue...
I've seen lots of discussions about these issues, but nothing definitive that will simply fix our problems. For the last month I've been trying the various suggestions offered on these forums: turning off the Energy Saver stuff, auto logging in, etc, but still having intermittent random restart issues.
I called Apple this morning and went through these trouble shooting steps with their tech:
1) Reboot to Recovery Mode (cmd-r)
2) Disk First Aid to repair (success)
3) Disk First Aid to Verify Disk (no trouble found. Verified)
30 minutes after hanging up the phone, BAM. Random restart again. Seems like I'm always pressing a keyboard key or mouse clicking when this happens. No matter if it's the trackpad, the wireless Apple Mouse, a USB mouse, the built in keyboard, or my external Matias keyboard.
My next step is to appeal to the gear heads here for any assistance they can offer. Thanks in advance for any input you can provide. Here's my EtreCheck report and latest panic report:

Hi there,
It appears that the latest release of the software has introduced a nasty Bluetooth bug. Before this release my Z10 worked perfectly fine with my HandsFree Link in my 2006 Acura TL. However, since I installed the latest OS release 10.0.10.672 (software version 10.0.10.85) I can pair with the vehicle however any call in or out causes the Bluetooth connection to be instantaneously dropped. The device simply cannot manage a conversation. Please note that the device itself does not disconnect (it is still paired), but it cannot service any audio between the vehicle and the Z10. Restoring to an older release of the OS fixes this issue.
Is there any way to get this resolved at all?
Please advise.
Thanks! When my wife returns with our 2008 Odyssey with HandsFree Link I'll give it a try. I know it was working before I upgraded, as well. I'll post back later this evening.

Curve 8900 not connecting to Desktop Software version 6.0.0.40
I am not able to connect my Curve 8900 to the BlackBerry Desktop Software Version 6.0.0.40. When I connect via USB it asks for the password and then it says connecting in the bottom right corner - it never connects. I also have the Blackberry Device Manager version 6.0.0.11 running at startup but it does say that the device is connected. There are no errors in the device manager. I am running Windows XP SP3.
No one else replied, but I seem to have solved the problem, more or less, so I thought I'd report back. See previous message for the setup.
1) First attack - make a concerted effort to truly undelete the 2 old versions of Desktop Manager. The typical list of "how to cleanly uninstall" (link above) is incomplete. This document is much better: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB02206 .
The part that matters is near the bottom, under Additional Information. Basically, take a shovel to the Registry and start digging out absolutely every reference to "Research In Motion" using the Edit/Find. I added to that recommendation a search on "BlackBerry" and even, for good measure, all the Roxio software (and removed the Roxio folders just like the Research In Motion folders). I can't say which part did the trick, but I could see some of the Install and Uninstall list items go by.
This finally killed the zombie entries in the Add/Remove Programs list, and prevented the Windows Installer attempts on unfindable .msi files.
2) Problems: In killing Roxio, I may have accidentally munged a Sonic registry entry. When I installed the Desktop Manager fresh from the CD, it complained about a registry-style confusion with Sonic software. It allowed me to continue past that point anyway.
I can't fix that, but I will be swapping in new PCs in a couple of months and can live with whatever reduced functionality might be involved.
When I started the Desktop Manager for the first time, I could see Windows Installer popups fly by in the background, but none of them stayed open, and perhaps that will be a one-time problem. Otherwise, if related to the Sonic issue, at least it's not a functional problem that prevents me from using the Desktop Manager.
3) I can now connect to the Desktop Manager via USB, but am unable to successfully update the device software. It goes through the backup process apparently successfully, but issues an error message about "Fatal error" before installing much (any?) of the new software. Seems to be a benigh error - phone still works. Because this will be reinstalled on a clean PC in a couple of months, I can pass on upgrading the device software until then.
4) All I care about is the ability to synch the contact and calendar data and, by god, that seems to be working!!! And it's much faster than my older BB.
If you're reading this, it's because you have an ongoing nightmare... You have my sympathy. -
Updating iPhone 4 To Software Version 5.0.1 Problem
I just updated my iPhone 4 to software version 5.0.1, and now some of my Apps, like iTunes and the App Store, are partially french.
I've already checked the general settings on my phone and the language is still set to "English", so I don't get why some Apple Apps are set to "French".
How do I fix this?If on Windows...
Try temporarily disabling your firewall and antivirus software and try again...
