Hi all
You can corrupt the tool hyperion 11.1.2 or aplicaciaones are credas, if the servers are restarted without stopping hyperion services?
Please your help
Regards
Pedro

Hi John,
Therefore, it is safe to restart the server without the need to lower 11.1.2.x Hyperion services?
Not considered a bad practice?
Thank you very much for your answer

  • BI server start/stop services

    Hi,
We have OBIEE installed on a unix server. Previoulsy I worked on OBIEE on windows server and would go to services and start/stop services. My question is if we modify the rpd and ftp it to unix server, do we have to stop and start the BI server for the modified rpd to work. Is it mandatory to stop the BI server, ftp the rpd and then start BI server again. Or if we do not stop the BI server and just do Refresh matadata from Answers..will this work? Thanks.

    Hi User,
You should restart the services if u ftping the rpd to unix means deploying the rpd to effect the changes
When comes to refresh metadata this ll work in case when the rpd opened in online mode and some one has made changes to get the available changes u have to do "Refresh Metadata"

  • Stop database instances and restart server without the databases to start.

We run Oracle database-server 10 enterprise edition release 10.2.0.4.0 64 bit pl/sql release 10.2.0.4.0 production.
How do i restart the servet without the databases to restart f. eks using enterprise manager.

I think what you need to do is go into the oratab file and mark each database set to be started automatically on boot up to not be set to auto-start. When done doing whatever you are doing now you would need to reset the indicator to Y. I do not think you would do this via EM.
We have all our database set to not auto-start and have our own start scripts that run a series of startup action scripts. This was for our system administrators who did not want Oracle in the way when they applied patches or made hardware changes that required re-booting and the start-up action scripts load and pin large objects into the shared pool on startup before the database is in use by the applications.

  • Restarting AdminServer without shutting down Managed Server

Using Weblogic 10.3.5 on OEL v8
To clear some old stats I need to bounce the Admin Server running on port 7001. Would I have to stop the Managed server as well (my applications) for this? Or can I bounce Admin Server without stopping my application?
    Thanks.

  • FormMail / Sendmail on server without mail?

For some reason I cannot use FormMail.pl from a server without mail services running. It is a barebones server used to serve a single website driven by Filemaker. PHP5 is installed. A form on the website will send mail if I reference the script in cgi-bin on another server with mail running, but it will not send if the script is located on its own server.
As I say it's a minimal setup -- is there a service or configuration I need to get running in order for the script to work?

Solved. I need to allow relay from the other server's IP.

  • IChat server suddenly stopped, now will not restart

I have a Snow Leopard Server hosting multiple email accounts and websites, file sharing, runing OD, running iCal server, and up until a few days ago running iChat server.  All other functions continue to work normally, but iChat Server simply stopped one day and now won't restart.  Around the same time my external Time Machine hard drive failed (ironic) and I restarted the server in an attempt investigate that failed drive.  About the time of that restart, iChat server stopped working.  Here is the most recent iChat Service Log from attempting to start iChat Server:

  • How to restart the Netweaver Server without restarting the whole OS (Suse)

We are setting up the SAP Netweaver Java on Suse Linux Trial in VMWare.
We require to restart the Netweaver Server several times. Is there a possibilty to restart the Netweaver Server without restarting the whole Suse Linux Server Operating System?

    Hello Deniz,
startsap and stopsap have the folllowing syntax :
    startsap [db|r3|j2ee|all|check] [<instance>]
you could use startsap/stopsap to start/stop any of the db or r3 or j2ee or any particular instance.
    e.g.
    startup db
    startsap r3
    startsap j2ee (just j2ee part)
    similarly for stopsap
if you have multiple instance you could use the instance ABC as
    startsap ABC
If you just want to restart any particular process of j2ee engine, you could use jcmon.
    Hope that helps.

  • Deploying the new war file without stopping the server

How can i deploy my updated application war file without stopping the server as the user sessions in my application and transactions as well as users request has to be carried out during the deploy process.
Edited by: Kaywin on Jan 28, 2008 10:39 AM

You can update web application via Administration GUI and then deploy the configuration. You don't have to restart the server for it. Assuming you are using 7.0 u2, follow the steps as below to update the web application:-
    - Login to Administration Console
    - Go to Virtual Servers tab under a Server Configuration, for deploying a web application (Configurations -> <config_name -> Virtual Servers -> <vs_name>)
    - Click on Web Applications tab and check the web application in the "Web Applications" table and then click on Update button.
    - Point to the updated war file in the pop up and click ok
    - Now just deploy the configuration by clicking on "Deployment Pending" link on the top right of the page
Here is the docs page which has more information about web application deployment -

  • Stop managed server without node manager and admin server

What are the commonly used ways to stop managed Weblogic server without node manager running and without administration server running?
(I have only one solution: on the managed server startup dump process ID to a file, and then when I want to stop it, send a signal to this process ID and kill JVM. But it seems not very clean way.)
(The managed server is started when both node manager and admin server are down, and I provide boot.properties of admin server to the managed server to start.)
UPDATED: And I don't want to start neither admin server, nor node manager even temporarily.
    Edited by: user12163080 on Jun 24, 2010 4:40 AM

    Hai,
I read the Oracle weblogic wlst script document without Admin server you cannot connect the managed server through the WLST script. see the below lines
"The start command starts Managed Servers or clusters in a domain using Node Manager.
To use the start command, WLST must be connected to a running Administration Server.
To start Managed Servers without requiring a running Administration Server, use the
nmStart command with WLST connected to Node Manager."
"You shut down a server to which WLST is connected by entering the shutdown command
    without any arguments.
When connected to a Managed Server instance, you only use the shutdown command to shut
down the Managed Server instance to which WLST is connected; you cannot shut down another
server while connected to a Managed Server instance.
WLST uses Node Manager to shut down a Managed Server. When shutting down a Managed
Server, Node Manager must be running.
In the event of an error, the command returns"
They are two option if you are using adminserver then we can stop the any Managed server.
The option is if you are using the nodemanager without admin server we can stop the any Managed server.
The last final solution to kill the particular Managed server pid.

  • Reload a jar in weblogic server without restart

    Hi All,
We are using weblogic version '10.0.1.0' and have 'reports.jar' file in server for reports.
If we change any existing class file under 'reports.jar' then we are using below steps in order to recognize a modified jar by weblogic
    1) We need to recreate a jar using eclipse in local IDE and
    2) Copy the 'reports.jar' into server
    3) Need to restart server inorder to recognize the modified jar
Is there any alternative solution to reload a jar in weblogic server without restart?
    Please do the needful.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Gangadhar

    Hi,
If this is for weblogic running on development mode, then you can go for auto-deployment feature where weblogic will auto-deploy modified application from autodeploy directory.
For production mode, you can go for production-redeployment feature of weblogic where it uses application versioning. So for example you deployed webapp1 with version app1.0 and then for new release you will deploy webapp1 with version app2.0 adding a retirement policy to retire old application after said time and start using webapp1 with app2.0.
Refer to link for mode detail - http://middlewaresupport.wordpress.com/2013/03/21/production-redeployment-feature-in-weblogic/
    rank it if found useful
    Thanks,

  • Windows 2008 R2 Server without Service Pack 1 was flag "Not Required" during the SCCM patching/deploying SP1 for 2008

    Dear Brothers,
I come to a scenario were one of our Windows 2008 R2 Server without Service Pack 1, was Flag under SCCM 2007 Reports Update Status for Service Pack 1 deployment to be "Not
    Required" which definitely inaccurate.
What I want to know what are the conditions for the Software Update to send a status to SCCM Server that the Service Pack is “Not
Required” instead of the other way around?
Is there anyone that can guide me to any KB Article regarding this behavior?
    Regards,

Yes, I know this is an old post, I’m trying to clean them up. Did you figure this out, if so how?
I have seen this before and what I have done is manually applied the SP1 to the server. Only then did the error show up as why SP1 didn’t apply. After fixing the error, CM was apply to apply SP1 and other SU to the server.

  • How to view the change immediately after a java file is modified without restarting server or redeploy?

              Hi All,
How to view the change immediately after a java file that is used in jsp is modified
              without restarting server or redeploy?
Moreover, it is better to keep the original session.
              Any suggestion is appreciated.

              Hi,
In order to have a new version of a java class, the current classloader must be
deleted and a new one created. This is what redeployment does. I believe that
this is more of an issue with Sun's implementation of classloaders. You could
ask BEA support (719.232.7878) and see if they have any plans to periodically
check jar files to see if java class file timestamps and destroy and re-create
              classloaders on the fly.
              1) You will still have to accept the performance hit of destroying classloaders
and creating new ones. There isn't any way around that.
              2) I would think you would want to have more explicit control in production and
              integration anyway.
You can redeploy applications from the command line (script) file not just the
              console.
              Hope this helps,
              pat
