Restore an iCal calendar from Time Machine
HELP!
I stupidly deleted one of my iCal calendars. How do I restore it from Time Machine?
Please Help me!
I found this on another thread and it worked well for me.
Here are the instructions:
1. Quit iCal, and enter Time Machine.
2. Choose the timeline that you want to use for your restore.
3. Select your "Home" Folder.
4. Open the "Library" Folder.
5. Click on the "Calendars" Folder.
6. Choose "Restore Calendars To..." from the Action Menu (Gear Icon).
7. Select the Home/Library Folder for the destination.
NOTE: After doing this (running lion) i found that i had to search in the search bar to find the Library folder to restore it to. After it's restored, the folder called "Calendars (Original)" is the one you want to use. Move the "Calendars" folder to the trash and delete "(Original)" from the folder name, and re open iCal. If this works, you can go ahead and empty the trash!

I'm not sure why it didn't work. I deleted the old Calendar folder and then replaced it with a Time Machine version of the same folder from the previous day. Then I opened iCal and there was still nothing there.
The reason I just deleted Calendar folder and it's sub-folders and tried to start from scratch is because I could tell which sub-folder was for any one specific calendar since the sub-folder names were in some sort of code. -

How do I view my calendar from time machine
Hi
I just upgraded to mountain lion and I think some of my ical calendar entries are missing. How do I view my previous ical entries in time machine. I'm looking to find a version of my calendar before I upgraded last week so I can compare the calendars. Is this possible? What do I do?

HT1553 I restored my hard drive from time machine. Why is iPhoto not displaying images properly?
I restored my hard drive from time machine after power blinks corrupted the file system so badly that disk utility could not repair it. Since then, iPhoto has not displayed images correctly. Events are there, and blank squares are shown, but that's all. I rebuilt small and all thumbnails and permissions -- I think the top three or four options in the iPhoto rebuild utility, which took five hours to do but which seems not to have changed anything. The iPhoto library is still more than 100GB, so the photos are there. I didn't choose rebuild from backed up --- whatever the final option on the rebuild menu offers -- because that seems to be appropriate only when a backup is interrupted. Could certainly do it, though. How do I get iphoto behaving again? I have full time machine backups saved automatically and another fairly recent copy on a separate hard drive stored remotely. Thanks for whatever help anyone can provide. I've looked at existing questions and solutions without success so far.
What version of iPhoto and system are your running? Since you've tried rebuilding with iPhoto give this a try:
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
If you have an external HD you might want to have the rebuilt copy created on it unless you have well more than 100 GB available on your boot drive.

i have reinstalled snow leopard 10.6.8, and want to restore my i photos from time machine. Can not find i-photo libary in time machine, can't not find > home-pict. iphoto lib. in time machine. Please help.
On my HD it does not say ,restore, in yourname -pict. Iphoto lib.,
On the time machine, it , yourname etc, oes not show up at all.
Only right side of TM, your name etc. does not show. -
Need to wipe hard drive to restore to previous date from time machine back up. Unclear how to do this. Please advise or provide link to this procedure on website. Thanks.

I have Photoshop Elements 10 on a new Mac, using Yosemite 10.1.1 - PE locks up every time I try to sign in. This software was restored to this computer from Time Machine after a theft of my old Mac. How can I fix this? It keeps telling me that there are missing files, too. If I upgrade to Elements 12 or beyond, will this fix the problem?
You can't sign in because there is nothing to sign in to. For PSE 10 the only sign in was to photoshop.com, which has been dead and gone for a year and half. Just skip the sign in. Reinstalling will not change this.

PSE is locking up because it's looking interminably for the non-existent photoshop.com server. -
Recovering Calendars from Time Machine
I want to recover calendars from Time Machines. What files/folders do I recover?
I imagine I need ~/Library/Calendars.
What other files/folders would I also need to recover?

Restore one hard disk from Time Machine backup
Is it possible to restore only one disk from Time machine backup? I have a SSD with OSX 10.8.5 on it while user folders are on a separate 4TB hard drive. I also have a Time Machine volume for backups. Yesterday the user drive failed beyond repair, but fortunatly I do have a recent backup. When I tried to resotre following insructions provided in the Time Machine manual, it does not give me an option to resore a specific disk from the backup, and tries to resotre only the System disk backup, in this case the SSD. Is there a way to restore a disk on which no system is installed?

If i restore a user folder from time machine, is it just restoring the files associated with the user or programs as well? Im asking because Apple Store just reset my system and said to restore files i needed and not to do a full restore. to try and determine if it was a software issue causing the problems.

I've found a solution to my problem.
Time Machine locates extenal HDD backups differently depending if they were done via a network or via a USB/FireWire/Thunderbolt connection.
My initial backup was done via a direct Thunderbolt connection. I ran into the above issue b/c the second time when I tried looking for the backup file the HDD was conencted to my iMac and I was accessing it via a network conenction.
I simply connected the drive directly to my MacBook pro and ... voila. I was able to see the backup, select the iPhoto library and begin the restore.

I was using osx 10.5.8 and upgraded to mavericks 10.9.4,after that ..when restoring all my data from time machine ,the new mavericks os was replaced by the old OS 10.5.8 ...any solution to get back to the upgraded mavericks OS????
Hi, how did you get MavX from 10.5.8, since it requires 10.6.8 to get MavX from Apple's App Store?

Your home directory > Music > iTunes
… and if you restore that entire folder it will revert your iTunes Library in total to the state it was as of the date and time you select in Time Machine. -
