Restore and error screens

I just got back my iPhone from being fixed and now I can restore my settings. iTunes wont recognize my phone and windows can't find the drivers for my phone so iTunes can regognize it. First off how do I get the drivers if I dont have the disc?

Did you make sure Apple Mobile Device Service is installed and active on your computer?http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1567
Are your running the latest version of iTunes? If necessary, download and reinstall a new copy of iTunes.

I tried to restore and error 28 appeared.  What do I do next?

That's what I found about error 28 in this article http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694
Error 23, 28, 29: These errors may indicate a hardware issue with your device. Follow the steps in this article. Also attempt to restore while connected with the white USB Dock Connector cable that shipped with your device, on a known good computer and network to isolate this issue to the device. The MAC address being missing or the IMEI being the default value, (00 499901 064000 0), can also confirm a hardware issue. Out-of-date or incorrectly configured security software can also cause these errors.

  • Ipad in recovery mode tells me to plug it into itunes to restore. and error (40) pops up after verifying restore with apple.

My Ipad 2 is in recovery mode it tells me to plug it into itunes to restore.Once I do an error (40) pops up after while verifying restore with apple. I called and they said it was with my norton security so I shut everything off  on norton and tried again but it still comes up with the same thing. Is there anyone that could help please!!

Same thing happened here ~ tech guy at a local authorized Apple repair store said it had something to do with improper backup from which the restore would be made. Still have a phone that asks to be connected to Itunes but won't do anything else . . . frustrated.

  • 4s ios 7 won't restore and the screen flickers now

I updated iTunes, then backed up my iPhone before installing ios 7.  When it got done updating, it goes to the "Set up your iPhone" screen and gives you the choice to set up as new phone, restore backup from iCloud or restore backup from iTunes.  When you select restore from iTunes it says connect to iTunes and then says connected to iTunes when it's plugged into the computer but it doesn't do anything.  When you select restore backup from iTunes, it goes through the process like it is restoring but everytime it finishes, it goes back to the "Set up your iPhone" screen.  In addition, the very bottom of the screen now flickers continuously.  There were no issues with the phone before updating today.

After messing with it for hours, it will let me set up the iPhone as a new phone and the phone works but obviously i have lost all data, contacts, etc.  It will also let me restore to a backup that is a year old and it will work but I lost all data since then. It will not let me restore to today's backup prior to downloading the update though.  Any help would be appreciated

These crashes were related to memory corruption (probably caused by a driver).
Please run these tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.
If you are overclocking (pushing the components beyond their design) you should revert to default at least until the crashing is solved. If you don't
know what it is you probably are not overclocking.
Since it is more likely to be a driver please run verifier first.
1-Driver verifier (for complete directions see our wiki here)
If verifier does not find the issue we can move on to this.
2-Memtest. (You can read more about running memtest here)
If you cannot boot after enabling verifier reboot into safe mode

  • Soft restore but now screen shows ITunes logo

dropped phone in water yesterday. dried it but this morning after charging overnight and took off charger black screen with battery showing dead. did a soft restore and now screen shows pic of ITune logo and battery charger cable. After awhile screen goes back to showing alternately a dead or low battery and the apple logo....any ideas of what to do next?

You have hardware damage from water exposure and the only solution is replacement or repair.
The only way to "dry" a phone which was submerged in water is to turn it off and place in a sealed plastic bag with uncooked rice or (better) silica gel packs and leave it untouched for at least 3 days. There is a small chance that this will prevent corrosion and damage.  Powering it on before it fully dries internally, as you did, reduces the chance of success from very small to almost zero
Define "soft" restore - do you mean this?  Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings

    Error 20, 21, 23, 26, 28, 29, 34, 36, 37, 40
These errors typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process.

In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue.
If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.

That is a baseband error. Has your phone ever been illegitimately unlocked? If so, that problem happens. If you haven't jailbroken/unlocked, visit your local Genius Bar.

I suspect your error was 1015, not 1051. This usually involves a jailbroken iPhone, use Google to find your solution.

iPhone 4 frozen with screen image of usb connector with arrow to iTunes logo.  iTunes doesn't recognize my iPhone message says in recovery mode must restore.  Try to restore and get - 1 error.  What do I do now??

    Hi there beee19,
You may find the troubleshooting steps in the article below helpful.
Resolve specific iTunes update and restore errors
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3694
    Check USB connections
    Related errors: 13, 14, 1600, 1601, 1602, 1603, 1604, 1611, 1643-1650, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009, 4000, 4005, 4013, 4014, 4016, “invalid response,” and being prompted to restore again after a restore completes.
If there’s an issue with the USB port, cable, dock, or hub, or if the device becomes disconnected during restore, try troubleshooting the USB connection, then troubleshooting your security software.
To narrow down the issue, you can also change up your hardware:
    Use another USB cable.
Plug your cable into a different USB port on your computer.
Try a different dock connector (or no dock).
Add (or remove) a USB hub between your device and computer.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, with no routers, hubs, or switches.
If you checked your connections and are still seeing the error message, check for hardware issues.

You can't get help here because you jailbroke -- probably wasn't the best idea. Try Recovery Mode: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808. You can avoid problems like this in the future by not jailbreaking.

  • My ipad wont go out of recovery mode eveytime i press to restore and update it says error 3194 has occured

my ipad is in recovery mode and eveytime i go to restore and update a message  comes up saying error has occured 3194

Yes, I'm having the same problem.  My iPad Air worked great on OS 7xx but since updating to 8.01 and now 8.1, the display went crazy.  Now, I'm also stuck in the restore loop and the iPad is useless.  Oops, it finally looks as if it is going to restore as I'm writing, we will see what happens.  All my data was erased as well.
All for nothing, itunes says the device has been wiped but it will not start (the screen glows and that is all.)
