    Not unless the phone was backed up to the icloud or in iTunes at some point. I know you said it's crushed but can it be connected to a computer? If so you can still back it up in iTunes and then when the new phone comes use iTunes to restore that back up on it.

    Sorry this solution is late but I just got off of the phone with Apple support and this worked.
    Open iTunes
    Connect your iPhone and keep it connected during this entire process.
    In the iTunes menu at the very top (File, Edit, View) choose STORE> Sign in and sign into your iTunes account.
    Once this is complete look at the upper right corner of iTunes and you will see an iPhone and Store button, cick STORE.  Now you will be in the iTunes store where you see the advertisements of the various albums, songs etc.  Look on your upper left of the window for your itunes account name and in the black band next to your iTunes account name, you will see a House icon, then Music, Movies, TV Shows etc.
    Make sure the HOUSE icon is selected.
    Stay on this screen in iTunes and on the lower RIGHT, you will see an area that says- QUICK LINKS.  In that area click - Purchased
    After you do this you will be transported to another area of iTunes.  Here there will be a menu across the top- Music, Movies, TV Shows, Apps, Books are the choices.
    Choose APPS and you will see the apps that you have purchased.  You will also see the apps that didn't download to your phone.
    Find the apps that didn't download and click the cloud next to their name.  Doing this will download the chosen apps to the computer you are on.
    Once you have downloaded the apps in question, in the upper right corner click LIBRARY.
    Now you should see the button that says iPhone because your phone is still plugged in.  Click the iPhone button and then click SYNC on the lower right to sync your iPhone.
    The apps you downloaded will now be on your phone.
    Sorry for the long instructions but this is what works.

I only "clicked" on "Backup" when I connected the new phone to my computer. I was afraid to click on "Restore Backup" to have all the other information I had from my other iPhone load up to my new iPhone. Hope you can help. What is the difference between "Backup" and "Restore Backup"; is all that different from synching.Thanks. Ana

    That's up to you. Do you want the data on your old phone on your new phone? If so, you follow the directions here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2109
    If you want to setup your new phone as a new device, then there is nothing you need to do.

    When I make an outgoing call the recipient cannot hear me very well as though the volume was turned down very low. However when I activate the speakerphone the recipient can hear me loud and clear. I transferred my SIM Card into a new device only to be subjected to the exact same problem. I have reset the phone clearing all the data and updated to the most recent software version available from itunes; and still no improvements. The results of my switching to a new phone would indicate a software issue.
    Does anyone out there have this problem and how can it be fixed?
    Thanks,

    Try removing the screen protector that is covering the microphone.
    Scratch that; wrong answer. I thought you meant you had trouble hearing.

  • Restoring Backup Set to New Host

    Hi Team,
    I am working on the RMAN Restore operation on the New Host.
    I had taken the hot backup of my database (name :Test) with all ControlFile, DataFile, & Archivelog Files using RMAN backup command,
    RMAN>backup database plus archivelog;
    Now I want to restore this backup set on the New host.
    So for this I have same Oracle 9i version installed in the same production path as it was there in the old host.
    i.e same production path for oracle directory.. C:/oracle/
    Now I had created the new database in this new host with the same name as Test and also the same passwords
    Now if I am using my restore controlfile commands here then it works properly as ,
    RMAN> restore controlfile from 'E:\Tempdest\CTL_C-315497057-20061017-01';
    Starting restore at 17-OCT-06
    allocated channel: ORA_DISK_1
    channel ORA_DISK_1: sid=11 devtype=DISK
    channel ORA_DISK_1: restoring controlfile
    channel ORA_DISK_1: restore complete
    replicating controlfile
    input filename=D:\ORACLE\ORADATA\TEST\CONTROL01.CTL
    output filename=D:\ORACLE\ORADATA\TEST\CONTROL02.CTL
    output filename=D:\ORACLE\ORADATA\TEST\CONTROL03.CTL
    Finished restore at 17-OCT-06
    But if i mount the database to restore the datafiles it is giving me the following error.
    RMAN> startup mount;
    database is already started
    RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
    RMAN-00569: =============== ERROR MESSAGE STACK FOLLOWS ===============
    RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
    RMAN-03002: failure of startup command at 10/17/2006 18:34:14
    ORA-01991: invalid password file 'D:\oracle\ora92\DATABASE\PWDtest.ORA'
    Can anybody help in this?
    Whether we have to backup the Password files also ?
    plz comment..

    You do not need to create the database on the new host ahead of time. However, since you are on Windows, you should create the Window's Oracle service with oradim.
    If your intention is to simulate an actual restore to a different host, then you should refer to Restoring the Database to a New Host, otherwise Aron's link above should help.

  • HT4847 how to get backup onto a new device

    I just bought a new iphone 4s. I want to transfer over my apps and photos from my ipod onto the the iphone4s which have been backed up on the icloud. how do i do that?

    I would recommend to set up an iPhone from an iPod backup, because they are two different devices, but you could set it up as a new device and could download all the already puchased apps for free.

  • Restore a Snow Leopard backup into a new 2013 MacBook Pro

    Hello,
    my late 2010 13" MacBook Pro was stolen a week ago.
    I ordered a new MacBook Pro which is bound to arrive in a couple of days.
    I need to restore all the data that I had in the stolen one and are now in a time machine backup external drive.
    I've just read that Snow Leopard is incompatible with 2013 Macs.
    What do I need to do in order to restore my data?
    Thanks.

    Sorry your topic tilte threw me.
    Before you turn your new mac on for the first time connect your TM backup drive to it. Then turn the system on. During the initial setup windwos there will be an option to restore data from a TM backup. Select that and you can copy settings, files and Apps over to your new Mac from the TM backup.
    NOTE:
    Older Power PC app will not work and probably won't be copied over. Also other Apps that are not compatible might be copied and placed in a Incompatible Apps folder. You will need to upgrade to a new version of those.

  • HT201418 After restoring from iCloud to new device - strange Apple ID popup on the phone

    I have change my iPhone 6 to 6+. I have done backup of the old iPhone to iCloud. When I started restore process - iOS system gave you a question with Apple ID (is this your Apple ID?) as always with strange one. I guess system is always giving suggestion to the Apple ID account latest backup was done to the nearest server of iCLOUD. Of course I have deleted this stranger Apple ID suggestion for restore and I have applied my own APPLE ID.
    Restore took some time and was successful.
    ISSUE - many times iOS want to connect to iTunes - pop up window is appearing having again suggestion of the same STRANGE Apple ID. It;s annoying and I do not know how to get rid out from my iOS.
    I put my normal Apple ID with credentials into iCloud and iTunes setting on iPhone but still strange one pops-up

    You probably needed to update the iOS on the new phone.  When it's done, set it up as a new iPhone, then disconnect it from your computer.  Then go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings (provide the password if prompted), go through the setup screens on the phone and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup and follow the prompts.  Be sure your phone is connected to wifi and your charger while it is restoring the backup.

  • Restoring Backups from a Supervised Device to a Non-Supervised Device

    Hello all.
    I have just started here at my place of work two weeks ago and was put in quite a predicament. iPads were given out to about 80 people on staff, but before they were given out they were supervised using Configurator by someone here. Upon receiving their devices, of course the staff was disappointed when they realized they could not sync them to their personal computers. After looking into many solutions, we decided that simply unsupervising them and letting them run free would be best (not my call). The problem is this: these people have had their iPads for roughly two months and have a lot of data on them. The idea was to have them backup using iCloud, bring them in to be unsupervised, and then restore from their iCloud backup. However I just tested this out and it appears that the supervision profile is backed up and restored as well! The only solution I can think of at this time is to unsupervise all of them and have the staff start from scratch (they can always get their iCloud contacts, calendars, etc. and purchases back), but this is not ideal. Just wanted to make sure I was missing anything. Thanks for any help.

  • Wat if i delete my old backup from my new device after reatoring in it? Do i loose the data

    What if i delete this old back up from my phone i may loose my old data?

    You don't lose any data, once restored your new phone will create it's own backup, so deleting backup is precisely what needs to be done.

  • Restoring backup problems with new hard drive

    Recently had to replace my hard drive (OS X Tiger 10.4.10). I had backed up iLife, iTunes and documents using the Backup utility (saving to external hard drive) and iDisk, so thought all would be well. My new hard drive has the updated OS (Leopard 10.5.5) and I cannot work out how to retrieve my stuff.
    The Time Machine application obviously has no memory of my backup plans, and 'Backup' doesn't seem to exist, so I can't follow the restore instructions on that application. I can see that iLife and iTunes have been backed up on my external hard drive - I just can't see how to put the contents back. I have re-installed iLife and the iTunes application is ready and waiting.
    My iDisk is completely empty - which means something is wrong or I completely misunderstood the point of it...
    Any help gratefully received
    Ross

    Hi Lupe!
    If you post the exact model number of the Seagate drive, I'll give the jumper setting a look to see it there is a limitation on setting to "slave." I wasn't aware anyone was doing that.
    As near as I can tell, the basic problem is that the first-gen 733 QuickSilver does not have support for "large hard drives." That means that 128G is the maximum it can deal with. You can use the 160G drive, however, by using Disk Utility to create a partition of under 128G, say 125G, leaving the rest of the drive unformatted. Then it should work. Select the partition format as Mac Extended HFS+ Journaled.
    Your G4 is older than the ones that this forum covers, thus the difference in hard drive capacities and also how hard drives are jumpered. You may want to make friends with folks in the forums for older G4s here:

    Some of the same people haunt both forums so it's not a big deal if you decide to stay here. We're glad to have you either way!

  • ICloud Restore Problem with a new Device

    Hi I just get my new iphone 4S.
    Now I have an error at the Restore-Process from iCloude.
    Original Message:
    Der iTunes Store kann Ihre Anforderung nicht bearbeiten. Einer Ihrer bestellten Artikel ist nicht in dem mit Ihrer Apple ID assoziierten Land verfügbar.
    Means that not all apps are now on my device, some are loading for ever ... and trying to continous gives me the message that not all my apps are from the country where I live.
    What can I do?

    yes I did
    delete the apps that are not installed completly (you see it at the bottom of every app) - after you installed the "correct" app, the restart works ...
    did it also work for you?

  • How do I download pictures from icloud backup to a new device

    I just bought a new iPad yesterday because my iPhone was stolen a few weeks ago.  That phone was backed up to iCloud.  How do I get the pictures from iCloud back up to my new iPad?  I heard there is a short time period to retrieve them and I may be out of luck but need to try.  Any help will be much appreciated.

    Thank you for helping me.  Technology is not my strong suit.  I will explain how I got into this situation and then maybe there is another way to recover these photos:
    I finally decided to upgrade my unlocked Canadian iPhone 3 to a 4S here in California.
    The AT&T store personnel had a hard time getting the photos from the 3 to the 4S directly so they downloaded the photos from the 3 onto a computer and then to the 4S.  I apologize, I'm not sure how to see if the photos are in the Photo Stream but I know they were on the Camera Roll.
    After getting home, I was having issues downloading from iTunes. I think it was because the 3 was originally from Canada so the 4S kept sending me to the Canadian iTunes store when trying to log on.  We decided to wait and take the phone to an Apple store to get help however the phone was stolen shorty thereafter.
    A couple of days ago we bought an iPad and thought we should try and recover the photos from that phone.  We had some friends who live in Canada access the account and switch it over to recognize that it is a US account.
    My wife did set up iCloud on the 4S.  So we assumed the phone was backing up everything, including the Camera Roll, when charging.  Possibly not so.
    My wife is pretty sure the photo stream was on as we didn't change any of the settings after getting it.
    I would appreciate an ideas you may have.
    Thank you & kind regards,
    Doug
