Restore BBM Contact

Hi,
I get confused to restore my bbm contact on my new device. Previously I have BB Pearl 9105 but I sold it. and now I use 8230f, I got confused how to restore my bbm contact from 9105 to 8230? Please help me, I dunno what to do..
I try using BB Desktop but nothing happen, just phone contact has restored.

Which version of BlackBerry Messenger currently you have on your device ? Have you tried a switch device wizard or restored from your backup files. Please go through those Knowledge Base to see if that helps :

Sorry to hear you're having an issue with your BBM Contacts restoring to your device.
Have you ever been able to use your BBM on your Z10 or are you transferring your contacts from another BlackBerry device?
Are you using WiFi or your data to do the BBM restore? Is there any error that displays or does it simply stick on restoring?

Can't Restore BBM Contacts Using E-Mail

Hello,
I hope someone is able to help me with this.
What I'm basically trying to do is do a restore of my BBM contacts through an email address since my last device bricked, but everytime i try to do that it tells me that my gmail is not a registered email.
This is weird because I have used the email account to do a restore in the past and have backed up on it several times.
Anyone able to shed any light on this ?

Restoring BBM Contact Remotely Failed

Hi, I'm blackberry 9300 user, I'm from Inonesian, I've never upgraded before the Operating System of my curve 9300, and the operating system was nuked (stuck while booting) after updating my blackberry application world and bbm version 7. Then I reinstall the operating system 5 to 6 version. After that, I'm forgot that my BBM contact and Phonebook it must be deleted after re-install the OS. than I want to restored all. For bbm contacts, previously I've ever backed up remotely through email, but when I progress restoring, email notifications are received, but did not want to recovery. then what's the solution? because the verification email is not detected by my handheld. I try to send verification email again and again. but it's still not detected by my handheld.

Welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.
To clarify were you using BBM 7 previously? If yes, then the BBM contacts are backed up using your BlackBerry ID, to restore your BBM contacts install BBM 7 and the contacts would restored using the BlackBerry ID.

Can't restore my BBM contact list

Hi,
my previous phone (8520) was stolen so I got a BB 9320
With my 8520 i had my e-mail account associated for the contact list restore (an year ago I lost my 8520 and that method worked for me).
Now when I configure my BBM (7.0.1.23) it says something like the connection with my BBID was successful but my contact list doesn't appear.
Also tried installing BBM 6, but when it tries to confirm my e-mail address (by sending an e-mail to my account), it never arrives. So it can't continue with the restore.
Please I need help! I work with BBM contacts!

Then first try those steps in the same sequence :
1- Register your Handheld .
KB00510 : How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Wait till a Registration messages comes in your message box.
2- Resend your Service Book
KB02830 : Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
( Wait till a Registration Message comes in your message box for each email that you have configured on your device )
3- Then perform a battery pull restart like this while the device is powered On remove your battery wait for a min. then reinsert it back
After than try once again to restore BBM contacts using the email account .
Click " Like " if you want to Thank someone.
If Problem Resolves mark the post(s) as " Solution ", so that other can make use of it.

BBM contacts restore after an OS upgrade from 7.0 to 7.1

Torch 9810, OS 7.1, SD card support with 14G free space
After an upgrade of BBM8.5, my phone could not complete booting fo several time until I flashed it but with OS7.0, this did not restore my BBM contacts; I used my computer to restore phonebook contacts and other data but BBM contacts still was not loaded.
I re-installed BB8.5, still to no avail. 3 days later I was re-prompted to sign in with my BB ID and I got all my 181 BBM contacts back. (Is this a remotely initiated action?)
After this I re-installed BB OS 7.1 and again I lost my BBM contacts. I have tried everything possible to get these BBM contacts but no way; but I am sure it is somewhere in RIM remote server.
These are my questions:
Does BB OS 7.1 supports the easy backup and restore of BBM contacts just as it does for phone contacts?
Can you make it easy for BB users to be able to restore BBM contacts as it is possible with phonebook contacts?
On the custom restore option on the BB Desktop software, what is tab to select for BBM contact restore after an upgrade/update?
Does Blackberry protect saves BBM contact details?
Is there an unshared info/law that must be respected in getting back BBM contacts, like "wait 72hrs after an upgrade before getting back your BBM contacts?????????
I do not have problem with Phonebook restore at all. That comes easy with my computer back-up but BBM contacts restore is a pain in the neck! Please help.

My bbm contacts won't be restored. why is that?

Help Restoring my BBM Contacts

Hello can you assist me PLEASE? I had a blackberry Bold 9700 and it was stolen, however I had 2 emails synced with my BBM contacts (my yahoo and gmail). I just received another BB(Curve 8520) and am trying to restore my BBM Contacts list however it is telling me that none of my emails are synced with it. How can I get back my BBM Contacts?

MISSING BBM CONTACT CATEGORIES AFTER RESTORING

Hello all... I recently backed up and wiped my 9700 and upgraded toOS 5.0.0.442 on my device.... I then downloaded BBM 5.0.0.57 using BB App world into my device and then restored the backup file using DM....
My problem is that I lost several BBM Contact Categories... I had previously had 7 categories and I'm now left with only 3 categories....!! This has happened before when I wiped and restored phone from a DM backup... but usually when I used the advanced DM restore feature to restore only the phonebook and BBM contacts... it usually works... but this time.... my contact categories are permanently gone...! Anybody know a fix to this problem...?

Lost bbm contacts while updating to Blackberry messenger 7

Hi can someone please help me!
This morning I updated form bbm 6.(something) to bbm 7. My blackberry did an identity update before bbm 7 was installed. After bbm 7 was installed, I went to my bbm and all my contacts where missing. For some reason the groups did restore. I did a normal back-up to my memory card a while ago, so if there is some way of getting my contacts back with bbm 7, or downgrading to bbm 6 again and just restore my old back-up so that I can at least get most of my contacts back?

my assumption is that the way it is supposed to work:
1) on BBM6, after upgrading "BlackBerry ID", your contacts are stored inside your BlackBerry ID, "in the cloud"
2) after upgrading to BBM7, BBM7 restores your BBM contacts from BBID
I think that some people do not have the latest version of BBID while on BBM6, and when BBM7 tries to restore the contacts, it does not find them in BBID.
But this is pure speculation from me.

Deleting BBM contact

Hello everyone..
I have a problem with my BBM. When I trying to delete a BBM contact, It can't be removed. It's happen only in 1 contact. When I try to delete another contact, it's successful..
I have tried to reboot my BB and it doesn't work.. What should I do?? Thank you for your attention
I use Curve 3G v5.0.0.794
My BBM version is 5.0.1.41

For starters, I'd update the BBMessenger to the latest released version, 5.0.3.22.
Use your BlackBerry Messenger function (BBM > Options > Backup) to backup your contacts you have now, and also, do a complete backup using Desktop manager.
Then, go to Options > Advanced > Applications and scroll the Messenger application and don't click on it, just scroll to it. Click Menu > Delete and remove the application.
Now, do a reboot: With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.
Finally, use your BlackBerry browser to go to http://blackberry.com/blackberrymessenger and download/install the Messenger application again.
After installation and possibly another reboot, check your Instant Messaging Folder, or Downloads folder for the application.
If needed, you can restore your contacts from the BBM v.5 application or from the Desktop Manager > Backup/Restore > Advanced.
Now, see if you can delete that contact.

BBM contacts lost after updating software, even though everything else was saved

hi recently updated my phone and did choose to back it up. everything was backed up except my bbm contact list, anyway i can restore this??? pleeeeeeaaaaaaaassssssseeeee help!!

Do have media card installed in your device, Please try this Open BBM - Press the Menu key - Options - Scroll down to Backup Managment - Then Click Restore .If you have any previous Backup you will get your contacts back.

BBm contacts

Hello,
I have 2 blackberry mobiles ( Torch, Curve) and both of the mobiles were on the same BB ID. About a few days ago I have update my BBM on both mobiles to 7th version. Before updating my BBM I made a back up of my contacts on my media card and also with BBM Protect. After the update of the BBM, a message appeared on the screen to ask me" if I wanted to switch the device?". So I clicked Cancel, the message came continuously and couldnt go on my messenger, so than i clicked switch device. So after that the contacts of my curve came on my Torch and the ones on my Torch I didnt see anymore, so I tried to restore my contacts with BB Protect. After restoring with BB Protect I see that I have found some of the contacts but not all of them. I also wanted to restore my contacts from within BBM self, but i see there is no option to do that in BBM 7.0. Cause had made also a back up of my contacts on my media card. My Questions are now: 1. Is there a other option to restore all of my contacts??
2. is there a option to downgrade my BBM 7 to BBM 6 or 5, so that I can restore my contacts from my media card??
3. What do you think happened with my back up on my BBM Protect??? Because restoring from BBM Protect didnt help..

Sorry to hear you're having an issue with your BBM Contacts.
BBM 7 now links contacts to the BlackBerry ID. Seeing as you have two active devices, you will need to use two separate BlackBerry IDs on each device.
Using another email account, go to www.blackberry.com/blackberryid to create a new Id for the second device. Once you have the new ID created, you will need to back up the device and then perform a Security Wipe as shown in KB14058
After the wipe completes, log in to your BBM with the new BlackBerry ID then restore your data.
You may need to re-invite some of the contacts on the device as they have been linked to the other BlackBerry ID.
Let me know if you're able to sort your BBM contacts issue.

Over 1100+ BBM Contacts PIN Missing when upgrading from 9780 to Z10

Please help, I've lost over 1100 BBM Contacts, when upgrading using the Blackberry User ID, and when I reload them on my old 9780, it's not there anymore, these contacts are so important, I collected them for sales for over a year's period, very market specific and high net worth individuals which are very hard to come by.
now I only got 75 contacts on my Z10
Chronologies
At the start, there was 12 categories consisting each 100 contacts on my 9780.
First I signed in with my blackberry id on my new Z10 and transferring data from the 9780 using Blackberry Link.
and then it doesnt work, there's only 75 contacts on my z10 (I've used a dakota with the blackberry id before which has BBM 7 installed, and then switched to iPhone when the Dakota was missing, I'm guessing the 75 contacts is from when I used the Dakota)
and then I wipe out my Z10 with factory reset, I installed BBM 7 on my 9780 in the hope to restore my contacts when it auto updates my blackberry ID.
again I login with BB ID to my Z10, still got 75 contacts on my Z10, I wipe it clean again.
then I decided I wanted to revert to an older version of BBM and use local backup on my 9780, so I deleted my BBM 7 from my 9780... and reinstalled it from the Blackberry World...
And then there was no contacts on my 9780 except for the 75 contacts.
Is there any way I can restore my 1100 BBM Contacts? I've always set back up remotely when using my 9780 with BBM 6.2
