Restore bluetooth device after removal in bluetoothctl?

Hi all
I removed a device in bluetoothctl with "remove <dev>". Now, this device is not visible anymore with the "devices" command in bluetoothctl and I'm not able to pair or connect the device. How can I "restore" the device? The device works perfectly when connecting from another pc.
Thanks for any help!
Regards, Michelee

you should be able to type "connect <dev>" to get it back, otherwise try "scan on" and then hit the "connect" button on your device (assuming it has one)

I was quite surprised by that. And I've been off for a little because I've been giving final exams at the college where I work. Now with break I will be spending a little more time on here until I have to start getting ready for the Spring semester. I have experienced a couple of interesting posters in the past week though. I wa afraid one was going to reach through the CAT 5 and grab me around the neck.

• My iPhone5 does not discover new bluetooth devices after upgrading to ios7.02

After I upgraded to ios7,02, my iphone5 connects only to one previous device only, my VW phone. It did not connect to my Logitec headset, nor other devices.
I tried forgetting both the devices, recycled power when iphone was in discovery mode. The iPhone5 still does not discover them.Is this a bug in 7.02 ?
Verified that all my devices are connecting fine with other phones.

• Disconnect Bluetooth Device After Period of Inactivity

I have connected a bluetooth device successfully, and it remains paired through power cycles. I'm attempting to now get the device to disconnect after a certain period of inactivity. The device is a ps3 controller, if that matters.
Any advice?

I guess I could also solve the problem by attaching the WIRELESS printer with a cable to the router, but HP is selling thise products as wireless, so why should I have to do that?

• X230 with windows 7 still won't connect to any bluetooth devices after many attempted solutions

My starting point:
I have 6 month old x230 with windows 7, all windows and lenovo updates already completed.  The bluetooth logo exists on the bottom of screen but when I try to "add device" it doesn't recognize any bluetooth devices.  I've tried this with speakers from 3 different companies.  I have updated the bluetooth drivers, the windows and lenovo programs say "device is working properly".  Nothing wierd in device manager.  I have  microsoft bluetooth enumerator and thinkpad bluetooth 4.0.  One time for about 30 minutes it worked on a ECOXGEAR bluetooth speaker but then also stopped.
Since then:
I enabled settings in BT control panel, BT is enabled in BIOS, BT wireless on, have tried to rollback driver to previous versions of BT but not possible, devices still do not show up in Add new device window.
Latest update:
I have uninstalled the lenovo bluetooth software following a suggestion and now my laptop no longer has bluetooth capacity at all - it seems when uninstallig the lenovo bluetooth sw the microsoft sw uninstalls as well.
Solved!
Go to Solution.

Seems BT audio profiles your speakers need are absent in the sw installed on the laptop. Try BlueSoleli or Toshiba BT drivers, both of them might have needed audio profiles. Toshiba stack seems a bit better quality but needs some tweaks for installation.

• How to restore an icloud device after removing it

Is it possible to restore my iphone in icloud?

You can only restore the iCloud backup during the initial setup, so open Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. During the setup, it will ask you to restore a backup, so select the option to restore the backup from iCloud and follow the steps

• Loss of Bluetooth devices after sleep

Forgive me if this topic has another main thread. I've found bits and pieces but no central thread for my specific problem.
I have a brand new iMac 24" with a clean install of Leopard attached to a Kensington Bluetooth mouse (bought from Apple store) and a new aluminum wireless Apple keyboard.
If I allow BT devices to wake the iMac it emerges from sleep every 10 minutes or so. I suspect either the keyboard or the mouse is polling the iMac or some such activity, causing the iMac to wake up. In that case both the mouse and keyboard work immediately.
Since I don't want the iMac to waken up prematurely, I set off the "allow BT devices to wake this computer" advanced option.
Now I briefly press the power button on the iMac and the iMac wakes up. But neither the keyboard nor the mouse has connectivity. I've repaired the devices, etc. NG
If I put the iMac back to sleep with the power button and waken it up again the devices are recognized.
On a power up from shutdown, the BT devices connect after about 15 seconds when the boot gets to the login panel.
Thanks,
Alex
'm also having this same issue. I ordered my iMac with a wireless Mighty Mouse,
First thing, unless you have tiny hands or work on your computer less than 10 hours a week, dump the mighty mouse...your just asking for carpal tunnel, if you don't already have it.
Second, Apple is about to urk me, because they still haven't fixed the issue about the sleep mode in addition to no SDK for the iPhone etc. Since Apple shares have skyrocketed, it seems that apple has started to FORGET AND LISTEN to the people that have kept them afloat all these years.
Dreaded gradient issues? Did you buy your computer off of e-bay or something? I switched to a Mac going on 4 years now without any trouble...then again, I bought my last mac's from either Apple or an authorized dealer.
If your having issues call apple support, get an RMA if need be, and be done with it...and, unlike Dell and most of the Windows based pc manufacturers out there, Apples support dept answers within a few minutes and the techs actually speak ENGLISH.

• IPad unable to recognize bluetooth device after "forgetting" device.

I recently bought a pair of Sennheiser PXC310 BT wireless bluetooth headphones to use with my iPad. It worked fine until one day a friend pressed the "forget device" option in the iPad's bluetooth menu. Since then the iPad is unable to recognize headphone's bluetooth signal, even though the headphone's bluetooth is turned on. Can somebody please help me reconnect the device? Also restarting has NOT helped. Thanks a lot!

So it turns out that infact this is not an Apple issue, it was a Sennheiser issue. The headphones needed to be reset. http://www.sennheiser.co.uk/sennheiser/products.nsf/resources/DD29E4FD02028BB9C1 257611003F55A9/$File/PXC_310_BT_US.pdf#page21 This helps.

• *FIXXED* Issues updating firmware on Creative ZEN portable devices after installing Media Player

<font face="Times New Roman" size="2">?Quote from windows website ?If you have a Creative ZEN device, see http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player//readme.aspx#RollingbacktoapreviousversionofthePlay er Read the ?Rolling back to a previous version of the Player? instructions (by the way windows website is even willing to address the problems with creatives products. And they offer possible solutions)
*Some people said this was all you needed to do but it did not work for me.
2. I uninstalled every program which mentioned creative.
a. Click my computer
b.click Add / Remove programs
c. Find anything that is made by creative and uninstall (or if you hate creative as much as me just look for anything that says creative or might hint at being a creative product)
3.Go into My Computer / Program Files? and delete the folder named ?creative?
4.Click ?Start? Click ?run? type in ?MSCONFIGOK? on the tabs click ?Services? then click on ?manufacturer? and uncheck anything that says Creative, click ?service? and also uncheck anything which mentions creative? if you think it has to do with creative technologies ltd. *RESTART*
Tried to load firmware again... ?Nothing
5. Installed old software from ?creative zen touch? & ?Creative Media Source? from the Creative Zen Touch CD. On both just did the full install. They congratulated me on my purchase of my zen touch! They could have?congratulated me on burning 250$. *Restarted
*THIS IS THE KEY*************
6. Download Microsoft media player 0 from some website, I used oldversion.com
http://www.oldversion.com/download.p...e4e5bbb7694ded?
7. I then updated windows media player ten... just updates for 0 I didn't install .
8. On this WINDOWS site http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...dme.aspx#57877 click on and read ?Issues with devices after removing Windows Media Player?. When you are done with the procedure of deleting and reinstalling your the portable device I plugged in my mp3 player and it recognized it's not a big shock because it recognized it as a zen touch before I deleted the drivers. So I got the new drivers it noticed it, just like other systems noticed, but this time the Creative horribly programmed firmware update recognized it. I will never buy another creative product again, probably most of you wont either. But I have already paid the money for this product so I plan on using it until the battery dies on me. Hope this helps!

4. Phone Software Update.

• Can't remove bluetooth device in file explorer.

I had an LG LS970 Phone paired with my windows 8.1 HP touchsmart PC. After I uninstalled the phone under bluetooth devices, it keeps showing up on my File Explorer. When I double click on it, an FTP No Response dialog box pops up. When i right click
on it, it does not give me an option to delete it. How do i get rid of it? I am also trying to pair my iPad with my PC but its not working. I think this might be a problem. Please help.

Hi,
According to your description, it must the driver which relate with LG-LS970 no uninstall completely.
First of all, please check Programs in Control Panel, make sure the Bluetooth related driver removed completely.
Seondly, Access to Device Manager, check is it had Bluetooth device driver, if so, uninstall or disable it.
Thirdly, Open Registry, CTRL+F, search LG-LS970, if it found any value, delete it.

• Restore Safari Keychain data after Remove All

Restore Safari Keychain data after Remove All
I mistakenly removed all Safari Keychain data, which, of course, also removed the data from my iOS devices.  I attempted a restore with a "Keychain" folder.  It's on my desktop, but I'm not sure what to do with it or if it's even the right data.  Can anyone help with how to restore keychain with Mozy?  Thanks!!

From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the AutoFill tab.
Select:  User names and passwords
Visit a website. Enter the login data. You will be prompted tos save that data to a new keychain.
Restore...  as I mentioned previously, Mozy is not compatible with Keychain Access. There is no way to restore with Mozy.
In the future, you may want to use iCloud  Keycahin to store login data.

• U330 Bluetooth Device gone after warranty service

Hello,
I have a U330, and I recently have had it serviced due to a failed motherboard. the unit came back with scome scratches on top, and the back of the unit (by the battery) not properly sealed.  Annoyed as I was, I was just happy to get the notebook back as i use it for wok and school after a week. Today, I went to pair my bluetooth mouse and came to realize that the bluetooth device no longer appears in the devce manager, or when i FN+F5.
Anyone know what the part is, or kind of card that is used, and where it is located in the U330 (under keyboard?), so I can confirm that either it was not replaced, or disconnected?
I did check software, and drivers...all are installed in Vista.
Thanks in advance.
Joe

Disattach power wire and battery.
Unscrew three screws under battery.
Remove panel with sensor buttons.
Unsscrew two screws holding keyboard and remove it.
Unscrew all screws you can see now (be sure to write down which is which - they're different in length) and disattach all wires you can see.
Lift the upper chase and you'll see motherboard with devices. A bit to the righ to the cardreader you should see bluetooth or it's abscence =)
Be sure to make everything carefully.
