Restore calendar app iphone

the Calendar icon on my wife's iphone has disappeared. not sure what she did, but how do I get it back? I am trying not to delete all her calendar entries from her laptop in the process. Thanks

There are many kinds of Reset. The one I mentioned above will just reset the Home Screen Layout with all the bundled apps that came with Apple. All 3rd party app will be arranged alphabetically.
The is no hard reset in apple devices. You have:
1.) Restart
2.) Reset
3.) Restore from backup
4.) Restore as new.
There is no Finder, what you have is Spotlight (when you swipe to the right till the end) which you can use to search your device.

iPhone4 calendar app OS 7.1.2 suddenly deleted almost all calendars.  How do I restore?

Check your settings.  Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.  Are all of your Accounts that use Calendars have the Calendars turned on?  Also, check under the Calendar part and make sure 'Sync Events' is set to 'All'.
Then go to your Calendar app, tap on 'Calendars' at the bottom, and make sure all Calendars are check marked.
Then, close out all the apps on your iPhone, and restart it.  Open up the Calendar app.
    Did your Calendar events reappear?

  • How can I get my old calendar app restored

The new update changed my calendar and it is now HARDER to use. Is there a way to restore the old calendar? If not is there a calendar app that is similar to the old IPHONE calendar? I'm just about ready to leave apple for another phone becasue each change they make is not user friendly.

No, you cannot downgrade the software. However, you can take a look at apps like Week Cal, Fantastical, Tempo.

    thank you in advance

I am having the same issue. Every time I add an event, it disappears. The only events that are displayed are the ones prior to the ios7 update and I am unable to delete those events. If I try, they just reappear right after. I restored my phone. Also, rebooted/reset. I tried turning calendars on and off in icloud... I refreshed the calendars in the calendar app. Nothing works. I hope apple gets a solution soon are maybe I just need to download a different calendar app...

  • Problems with the Calendar App in iPhone 4S

I'm having a problem the Calendar app with an iPhone 4S (iOS 6.1.3). I added a Google account with the company's domain (Microsoft Exchange option), but the calendar it's not available on the Calendar App list. I already tried to delete / restart / create the account, but so far I'm unable to see the Calendar in the list.

    Tried any of these steps?
    - Quit the App by opening multi-tasking bar, and swiping the App upward to make it disappear.  (For iOS 6, holding down the icon for the App for about 3-5 seconds, and then tap the red circle with the white minus sign.)
    - Relaunch the App and try again.
    - Restart the device. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
    - Reset the device. (Same article as above.)
    - Reset All Settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings)
    - Restore from backup. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766 (If you don't have a backup, make one now, then skip to the next step.)
    - Restore as new device. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137  For this step, do not re-download ANYTHING, and do not sign into your Apple ID.

Whoa whoa no need to go restoring stuff yet, once you've done that check to verify you have done what Overlook2011  IF that doesn't work for calendars ensure your default account for calendars is set to iCloud and in calendars that it is told to "Show all calendars"

The calendar app that comes with the iPhone 4S disappeared.  How can I restore it?

Plug your phone into your computer and pull a back up if you have on from itunes.
Also verify you phone is using the correct software 6.1.3 or 6.1.2 Iphones are known for "losing" things when software becomes out of date.
If that doesn't work then I'd advised doing a a factory reset. Make sure you back up your phone to itunes first.
Does anything else not work or acting strange?

  • Calendar app in iPhone use relatively huge amount of cellular data

I'm using a 500MB plan, so my cellular data is very limited. Each month I will check which app on my iPhone used most of the cellular usage, and the built-in Calendar always used the highest amount of cellular data.
I already set the Calendar to sync to "Events 2 Weeks Back" only, and I installed Sunrise calendar and only use it to create new task, edit task, etc. So far Sunrise calendar is the only calendar app that directly access my iCloud calendar. So I can make a comparsion between the two.
I reset the cellular statistics a week ago. Today, the usage of Calendar and Sunrise are as follows:
    Calendar: 23.9 MB
    Sunrise: 581 KB
They are displaying the same amount of information, the only difference I think is Calendar use Push to keep updating itself, so it consumes this relatively huge amount of data. (>90MB each month!)
I tried disable the cellular usage of Calendar in the past, but then I cannot see the most up-to-date information in the Notification Center. So at last I have to re-enable it again.
Does anyone have similar problem? Is there any solution? Thank you!!!

    Hi Robert,
Thank you for the comments but I somehow think we are miscommunicating.
    1) I have no problem backing up the phone locally (or to icloud if I wanted to)
    2) I have no problem turning on or off cellular data usage for any app on the phone
    3) I have no problem seeing what apps are enabled or how much cellular data they use
    My problem is the following
APPLE's Notes app used 2.7 GIGABYTES of cellular data (before I disabled cellular data for this app) despite the fact I wasn't even using the app. I didn't change any setting for Notes, I didn't do anything with it except create one note on October 15. It would seem to me that this excessive usage is a bug or oversight in Apple's design of the app.
The purpose of this post is to warn others of the potential issue and to see if this issue has been observed by anyone else and if there are any actual fixes. Disabling cellular data for the app is a work-around ... but will the problem begin again if cellular data is re-enabled?
Your suggestion of erasing all content and settings and then restoring the phone from the backup sounds extreme but would it solve the specific problem of excessive cellular data usage and if so .. why?

  • Having problem with My iPhone 5 (iOS 6.1.2) Calendar app

Hi, I found that my calendar (default app) had some thing wrong. There was no "Calendars Button" and "+" button on top of the bar.
I used reset function on my iPhone but nothing improved. Could anyone of you know how to restore the calendar app? Thanks a lot ~

Oh, thanks for helping. Unfortunately, the hard reboot did not solve the problem. However, that move reminded me that maybe I could go to "Settings"/"Mail Contacts Calendars" to erase previous account and tried to adjust some configuable settings. And then, when I turned back to check the Calendar app. Yeah, it works! All the missing buttons were back and functioned perperly.
My conclusion of this experience are...
    (1) In my case, the native app, Calendar, was not malfuntion. Trying to restore the app is not the right direction.
    (2) In fact, until now, I am still not sure which steps result in the right solution. If any one who has the same wired situation. Erase the previous account and change some calendar-related settings may help you to solve the problem.

  • Lost calendar app on iphone

I have lost my calendar app on my Iphone, have tried to reset not sure what to do?

You can't delete it.  Look through all your screens and inside all your folders.  If you still can't find it go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.  This will restore the home screen to its original apps and configuration (including Calendar), but may rearrange other apps to do so.

  • IOS 7.0.2 - iPhone 5 - calendar app crashing - HELP

iOS 7.0.2 - iPhone 5 - calendar app crashing - how to fix??
I installed iOS 7 on my iPhone 5 the day it was released. No problems. After learning tips/tricks am loving it. 27 Sept 2013 rec'd notification of an update iOS 7.0.2 (bug fixes etc), and did the update. But now every day the calendar app is crashing. I open it and it closes. The only way I can get into it is to search for an event, or when an event alert comes up, hit 'view'. Other wise I can't open the Calendar. Never ever had this problem before. I've tried turning it off/on, but still crashes. I've closed all running back ground apps and did a Restart, Pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake & Home buttons for a few seconds until it shuts down, then the Apple logo appears, and restarts. Calendar still crashes. How can I fix this? Help ... I use my calendar daily.

    Hello there Max,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you have done some great troubleshooting already. What I would do next is backup and restore your phone to iTunes.
iOS: How to back up and restore your content
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
Before you restore from your backup, I would first setup the phone as a new device, then test the calendar app to make sure it works the correct way. Then restore from your backup and verify the Calendar is still working.
    All the best,
    Sterling

  • Cannot open calendar app on my iPhone 5. Please how do I fix it.

I cannot open the calendar app on my iPhone 5. It flashes for a second and then go back to home screen. I have already restarted the phone twice and force the app to close several times without success.
Anybody can help please? Thank you.

Try a reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. After the phone reboots, see if you can open it. If not, the next step is restore from a backup, but if there is a corrupt file in there, it will copy over from the backup. The last step is a restore as new device. This will delete all data on the device. If it still will not work, the you would need to make an appointment at the Apple store to get the hardware checked.

  • IPhone Calendar app shows no calendars after iOS4 upgrade on 3GS

I upgraded my iPhone 3GS to iOS 4.0 and now I cannot see any calendars in the built-in calendar app. My calendar is synchronized with my company Exchange server over the air and in the past I always had a button "Calendars" in the top-left corner of the calendar app on the phone, which I could use to show the calendar from the exchange server or my local calendar on the phone. That button is now gone and the entire calendar is empty.
Also, when I try to create an event, it fails with the error "Unable to Save Event - The event has no calendar set.". But again there is no more control on the screen to create an event that would let me specify which calendar it should go on.
The rest of the synchronization with the Exchange server works fine, i.e. all my contacts and email sync nicely.
I've also tried to sync with my MobileMe calendar instead, and it has the same problem - I cannot see any calendars on the phone.
I've tried to reset things by turning calendar sync off for the Exchange account, waiting a while, even rebooting the phone, and turning it back on - but to no avail.
Is there any way to reset just the calendar app? It almost looks like its internal table that lists all available calendars is bugged...

I upgraded my iPod Touch 8GB to iOS 4.0 and I was getting the identical problem to afalk42. I was trying to sync using the Microsoft Exchange option to my Google Apps personal domain account. This was flawless under OS version 3.
I tried to restore from a previous backup via iTunes but the problem was still evident.
I performed a factory restore via iTunes and then before restoring from my backup, checked that the unit was still iOS 4.0 (it was), and configured again for Exchange sync.
This worked perfectly- the 4 calendars from my Google apps account were all visible and sync'd.
I then initiated a restore from my last backup, leaving the Exchange configuration I just tested that worked configured. The unit restored, then auto-restarted as it was supposed to. When it came back it re-installed all my apps and music from iTunes as part of the post restore sync (took a fair while), but I stopped it syncing the movies I had, for the moment.
When it all came back, the Exchange settings I had set after the factory restore but before the restore from backup remained intact and still functioned.
So I am now happy it is all working, but what a pain!
    Hope this helps,
    Daz.

  • HT4528 My iPhone 4s would not sync - it kept canceling.  I backed it up and did a full system restore.  Now it won't restore my apps.  It starts on 1 of 51 and then tells me it's canceling sync and it stops.  My apps are all black. How do I fix this?

My iPhone 4S kept canceling while syncing.  In the Apple support communities, it was recommended that I do a full system restore. I backed the phone up and did the restore.  Now it won't finish the restore process.  It gets to where it will restore the apps and it says "copying 1 of 51", and then it cancels the sync.  I have no apps on the phone - they are all black and they say "waiting". How do I get the apps reloaded on the phone?  Do I have to delete them all and redownload them? I'm not even sure that will work.  Do I go to Verizon and ask if they can fix it?  Any suggestions?
