Restore Channel Strips in Logic Pro (9.1.8)

Hi all,
i´ve accidentally erased a channel strip setting (yeah I know, shouldn't have done this...). It is one of presets Large Spaces - Clean Room.
(IMO this is some stupid option. The descriptions sounds like deleting the setting from the song and not out of the library. Anyway.)
I am not able to set Logic Pro to the origin defaults; I reinstalled Logic, after deleting it completely and erasing all config files manually. But it does not make any changes to the library. The channel strip setting is gone.
I CAN find the file on the HD (~/library/application support/ logic/channel strip settings) that means the cst-file, but there seems no way to import it, right?
How can I restore the original channel strip setting library?
BTW: I have the new iMac without any DVD drive; so installed Logic Pro via AppStore.
Hope someone can help... thank you!
Dan

Hi
If I understand you correctly, you have deleted the Channel Strip "Clean Room", but you have a 'spare copy' in
<User> Library:Application Support:Logic:Channel Strip Settings?

IF this is the right Setting, it should already show up in the Library, provided that it is placed in the correct (Bus) sub-folder. You could always copy/move it to the correct location for the Factory files;
Library:Application Support:Logic:Channel Strip Settings:Bus
If this is not the correct Setting File, perhaps you have used it in another project, such that you could re-save it?

  • Using Platinum Voicemaster Pro Vocal Channel Strip with Logic Pro & MBox 3

    Hiya,
I was wondering if you can help me please.
I have a small little home studio that I am currently building (just to record vocals mainly to instrumentals as I am singer/songwriter).
I am currently using Logic Pro 9 and MBOX Mini 3 as my midi interface but my producer who is based overseas told me to get a preamp. Many musicians have suggested I purchase Platinum Voicemaster Pro Vocal Channel Strip. CAN ANY CONFIRM WHETHER THIS WILL WORK WITH LOGIC PRO 9 AND GIVE ANY ADVICE AS TO HOW IS THE BEST WAY TO USE IT WITH LOGIC PRO 9 AND MY MBOX MINI 3?
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP.
    RUSHELLA
    X

Thank you both for your input. I am back on the case again, this time with a fully functioning FCB1010. Right ou of the box the pedal does successfully send volume and pan with expression pedal a and b respectively.
What I would next like to accomplish is to have exp. ped. b now control a plug-in parameter instead, the pedal range on the fuzz-wah plug-in of Logic Pro 7 for expample.
When I use Automation Quick Access to edit the assignment of ped. b as Bryan suggested, Logic appears to be receiving the info from ped. b and creating the new assignment (as indicated in the Controller Assignments window), and yet the actual functionality doesn't change, that is, ped. b continues to control pan.
    Any suggestions?
    Best regards, Dan

  • Create New Auxilliary Channel Strip in Logic X ? Taken Away ?

Using create new channel strip setting seems to have been removed or is it a bug ? I took the plunge only to find that a lot has changed in the new DAW. I am particularly distressed that one of the best features on Logic 9 has been removed or just DOES NOT WORK. When this feater used to allow me to create multiple AUX channels with the same BUS or have them ascend or descend. This does not seem to be the case anymore. Is anyone out there having the same issue ? In X it just spits out a channel which it should not do . It should allow you to say how many channels and where you want them routed. This seems like a backwards more for Logic. Very dissapointed.

I've got Core Audio going, and my interface is MOTU 828 mkII. My typical workflow has been with Universal Track Mode (UTM) deactivated. What I have seen is that when UTM is enabled on my sessions, the Aux channels switch from stereo to mono with the fader rotated all the way to the left.
That's what I saw when opening my session under the re-installed Logic, which defaulted to UTM enabled. So, I disabled UTM. But now, when creating new Aux strips, I get mono channels even when requesting stereo channels.
Also - typically, when I enable a bus send on an audio channel, the corresponding bus channel would appear in my Mixer. Now, that's not happening.
Thanks for your feedback thus far, Erik. - j

  • Channel  strip inserts Logic Express 7.2.3

When I click on the inserts of an Audio Inst track channel strip I may choose Instruments from Logic Express, GarageBand, and Jam Packs 2,3 and 4. When I try this on an Audio Track the insert offers only the Logic Express and GarageBand Instruments but no Jam Packs. After reading ALL the pdf manuals and the M Sitter book, and spending 3 hours every day the last 6 months reading this forum I still don't know the current corrrect file paths for the garageBand and Logic Express 7.2.3 or the Jam Packs 2,3 and4. At the local Apple Store I was shown a version of Logic Express which had ALL these Jam Packs in BOTH types of Audio/Audio Inst tracks.
Mac Mini   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   M-Audio 49e USBMIDI Controller

Jam Packs contains loops and instruments, not channel strips. To view your loops go to Audio>Loop Browser. Then you will be able to view all of you JamPacks loops. Also, JamPacks contains new software instruments. To use the software instruments that come with jampacks, go to a software instrument track, then use the EXSP4 sample player as the I/O for the track. Navigate down to GarageBand and the instruments from jampacks should be there. It's not something that really stands out. It's just that it increases the number of instruments by a lot. And with the loops, you can sort out just the jampacks loops to see what it offers.

  • Solo Button in Channel Strip with Red Line

Solo Button in Channel Strip with Red Line through it and it won't solo?
How'd it happen and how do you get rid of it?
    Thanks!

    Try This----From the Manual
Logic Pro, Express: Solo Safe mode may not remain disabled for a particular channel strip
    Symptoms
In certain projects, "Solo Safe" mode for a channel strip may enable each time you load the project, even after you disable it and save the project.
    Resolution
When a channel strip in Logic is "Solo Safe", it remains audible, even when other channel strips are soloed. Solo Safe is indicated by a diagonal red line through the solo button on a channel strip.
You can manually toggle the solo safe status of a channel strip by Control-clicking its solo button. There are times when you may find that a particular audio channel strip in a project reverts to solo safe mode when you load the project, even after you manually disable solo safe. Here is why that may happen and steps you can take to prevent it from occurring.
A Logic project contains a special audio channel strip used for pre-listening to audio in the Sample Edit window, Audio Bin, and Loop Browser. When you create a Logic project from one of the factory templates, this channel strip is assigned to "Audio 256". This channel strip stays in solo safe mode so that you can always preview audio. The image below shows the channel strip for a new, empty project.
If there is no audio channel strip in a project assigned to "Audio 256", Logic will use the highest-numbered available audio channel for pre-listening. When the project is loaded, that channel strip will be put into solo safe mode. You may find this happens in older projects that you open in Logic 8, or in cases where you have deleted the "Audio 256" channel strip in a Logic 8 project. To prevent this from affecting channel strips you are using in a project's arrangement, follow these steps:
    Choose Window > Environment.
From the Environment window menu, choose New > Channel Strip > Auxiliary. A channel strip will appear in the environment.
Select the channel strip. It will highlight.
In the Device parameter box in the upper left of the Environment window, click the arrows to the right of "Channel" and choose Audio > Audio 256 from the menu.
Select the text tool, click on the name below the channel strip and name it "Prelisten".

  • I could load Yamaha C7 grand in Logic Pro BUT I could not load in MainStage

Hi there, I tried to load Yamaha C7 grand in Mainstage, but i won't load  but instead a "Organ sound" after i choose Yahama Grand. ALL the Yamaha grand in Logic could be loaded and sound perfectly ok. Could some one help  me to solve my problem in Mainstage? Thanks a lot!

    Hi
If all load OK in Logic, you could try saving the Channel Strips in Logic, then open them in MS?

  • Multiple ReWire Aux Strips in Logic 8?

I am running Reason 4.0 and Logic 8. How do I create unique channel strips in Logic to represent individual Reason instruments? Right now I have a Thor track, a Dr. Rex track and a Malstrom track set up in my Logic sequencer and they all work fine but they all play through the same Aux strip in my mixer window. I want to have unique Logic plug-ins assigned to each instrument's output. How would I set that up?

Logic doesn't read the patches created in Mainstage. However, you can open each channel strip setting onto an individual track in Logic then arm record them all at the same time. They should all then play at the same time.. and record the same MIDI info on each track.
I think the bus FX are the same too.. the settings can be recalled in Logic. You'd need to do it manually though, as opposed to importing the Mainstage patch and having everything configured for you.

  • Logic Pro 8, Apogee Duet, Amplitube 2

    Hi,
I'm having a bit of trouble getting Amplitube to respond properly in Logic 8. I'm using Apogee Duet as an interface, and I have Amplitube running as an insert in a channel strip in Logic. Unfortunately, nothing happens when I adjust the settings on the Amplitube interface. No matter what I change, it always sounds the same. It is as if Amplitube is not hooked up at all. I've tried to locate a users manual for Amplitube, but I don't see one anywhere online. Anyone have any ideas about this?
    Thanks!

Unfortunately, nothing happens when I adjust the settings on the Amplitube interface.
You mean, on playback of a recording, or live while you are playing your instrument?
Do you have software monitoring turned on?

  • Logic Pro 9 - MOTU MK II inputs not available in channel strip

I usually use a MOTU 24 i/o as my main Logic Pro 9.1.5  audio interface. I'm trying to use a MOTU MK II and it is connected via firewire. It shows up fine in the Logic > Audio > core audio driver preference and is checked on. However the MKII in/outs are not available on Logic's channel strip inputs and outputs. Logic still shows the 24 i/o's even though the 24 i/o is not selected in audio preferences and is not even turned on.
I've reinstalled the latest MOTU drivers, trashed Logic's preferences and restarted my MacPro but it is still the same. Only the 24 i/o available in the channel strip input and output.
Is there a second audio i/o setting that I'm missing?
My Mic is registering OK in the MKII so I know it is getting a signal.
    Thanks,
    Richard

For some reason Logic is listing the 24 i/o inputs.
I've renamed the 828 Mk2 1 & 2  inputs to Vox 1 and Vox 2.  The MK2 has 8 analog inputs plus two mic/line inputs for a total of ten audio inputs, not 14 as listed in the channel strip input drop down.
Audio registers in and out of the Mk2 but does not register in Logic's channel strip input. I just switched back to the 24 i/o to test and audio registers fine in Logic's channel strip input with the 24 i/o. Just not with the MK2 selected as the audio source.
I'm curious if anyone else has had this problem or if I'm missing an audio input setting somewhere.
    Thanks,
    Richard

  • A problem with channel strip outputs in Logic Pro 8

I have a Power Mac G5 2.3GHz dual core processor with 2GB memory, running LogicPro 8 connected to a MOTU 2408 Mk3. I originally assigned the outputs on the individual channel strips on my Logic default work page to the individual outputs on the MOTU, (1, 2, 3, 4, etc.,) as this is the optimum configuration for the amount of channels required for the recording I do. Checking theses settings recently though, I find the menu only gives the option to set outputs to 1-2, 3-4, 5-6 & 7-8? What has happened and how can I change them back?
    Thanks

Sounds like your channel strips are stereo and not mono.
Click on the little linked circle button (format button) in the bottom of the channel strip to set it's mode to MONO (single circle).
If you have effect plugins inserted on the channel strip make sure they are mono and not stereo. (Click and hold on the effect on the insert slot and choose the mono instance of the plugin from the plugin menu).
    Hope that helps

  • Logic Pro 8 Channel Strip issue

Hi, I'm trying to get some input on an issue that I'm having. A couple of weeks ago I installed a new hard drive into my macbook and cloned over my old one...everything works great except for just one tiny detail with logic. I've reinstalled the program and it works great, but for some reason, certain channel strip settings such as acoustic snare drum 1 take about 7-8 minutes to load. The program is not crashing, it just hesitates for certain settings, while others work fine. I've verified that they are all there in the library file, and I've even run the disk permissions utility and I have all the updates. Until this HD switch everything had worked perfectly. I was just trying to see if anyone had any experience with this. Thanks!

Ok, I figured out how to re-index and I am still having the same problem.

  • Hi, I need help. On my channel strips, I don't have a Midi FX tab. What do I do? I have Logic Pro X.

    Can anyone help please?

In case you don't know, MIDI effects can only be put on a software instrument channel, so if you are expecting it to be on the main track of, say, a drummer producer kit it won't be there because that is an aux track.  Right click somewhere on an instrument channel strip in the inspector or mixer and find the "channel strip components" sub menu - you'll see the MIDI effects with or without a checkmark next to it.  The mixer and inspector can be set up independantly - which I didn't know until just now.
Edit:  Curse you and your succinctness CCTM!

  • How do I move previous Channel Strip Settings from Logic 9 to Logic X?

    Hello,
I made the jump from Logic 9 to Logic X and I had previous Channel Strip Settings on the 9.  I did the yourhomefolder/library/applicationsupport/logic copy and pasted it in the new folders on my HD (exact same place), but they're not showing up.  I only get the 'Legacy' option when trying to inset a Channel Strip I had before.
Does anyone know how to do this successfully?
    Thanks.

    Banks,
    Indeed..
However, I would retain the LP9 app as firstly it's fairly small so you don't save much space by deleting it...and secondly, you might need it to work on older or new projects that still use 32bit only plugins as they are no longer supported in Logic Pro X
    Cheers..
