Yes, Recovery from disks will restore the D:\Recovery.
Never realized it was 'so' easy to delete D: What were you using to get rid of the virus?

    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    For without iTunes
If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone and use Remote Wipe to erase the contents of your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode after the device has been erased.
You can also wipe the iOS device by installing the FindMyiPhone app on another iOS device and using that app to wipe the device.

  • Recovery from recovery discs made with recovery manager on g62

I got the blue screen of death and had to do a system restore for my hp g62 laptop. Before i restored the computer, the recovery manager launched and had me backup my files. I backed up the system on like 15 discs using hp"s recovery manager. After it was done, i returned the computer back to factory settings. Now, im having a problem using the recovery discs made thru the recovery manager. The files arent being read. I tried to copy them and move them onto the hard drive....and they are all saved as .wim files....which arent read by anything. So i have all my files backed up, but that arent opening. How the hell do i open my files that i backed up? How do i put my files back on the computer?

    Hi,
I've never really used the HP File Recovery system, but you can open an Image file as follows.
Download and install 7-Zip from the following link.
    http://www.7-zip.org/
When installed, right click on the .wim file, select 7-Zip, select Extract Files and click Ok - your files should be in the newly extracted folder.

  • HP Pavilion dv6-6b47dx gets "Restoration Incomplete" from Recovery Manager.

I got my son's older HP Laptop, and decided to restore it before using it for myself.  Previously it was working OK.  An HP Pavilion dv6-6b47dx gets "Restoration Incomplete" from the Recovery Manager.  I have tried running the recovery manager from both the HD partion and the DVD media I created.  The HD and Memory pass.  The wireless f12 key is off, and can not be turned back on from the keyboard.  Some previous post have suggested the wireless being off could be a problem.   Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

    Hi
No that Recovery media won't work in your laptop.
ISO file can be used to clean install. You'll have to get all the 25 character alphanumeric product activation key printed on the COA label on the back of your laptop to be clearly & legibly readable for activation of ISO after install.

Download, save them to a USB and install them from there during/after Win 7 installation.
You have to first install chipset, restart system - then audio driver-restart, graphic driver- restart, ethernet controller(LAN), network controller(WLAN & Bluetooth), card reader, touchpad , Protect smart hard drive protection driver, quick launch software in order.
I could see that your model came with Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) pre installed.
    Here is the ISO file:

  • New Hard drive - won't install windows from recovery disc

I am having an issue with my Satellite L505D-S5965.  I replaced the hard drive (upgraded from 250 to 500GB) due to issues with the old one (which had been replaced once already) and am using the recovery disc I made before my other hard drive crashed.  When I boot the computer, it says it is loading Windows files, asks for country, etc., but then doesn't display an operating system to choose and asks me to choose drivers.  I can't restore it from a system image because I kept getting an error on the old drive when I tried to create one.  When I've checked, it says that Windows isn't installed on the computer.  I checked the BIOS and it is recognizing the new hard drive.  I have also tried booting it up from the DVD/CD using the set of disks I created after I got my new hard drive previously, but it doesn't seem to even recognize them and I can't get to the Toshiba Recovery Wizard. I would order the Toshiba Recovery Media, but with the issues I'm having, I'm not sure that is the fix.  I'd hate to be out another $30 on an old computer (since we also had to replace the mother board in the past few months) if I'm not sure that will cure the problem.

  • How to install window 7 from recovery disc

    DEAR TECHNICALSUPPORT
I have purchaase new recovery disc of window 7 and want to install in my hp pavillion g6 1201TX but there are not done from this method ..
Turn on the computer, and insert the first recovery disc into the drive.
Press and hold the power button to turn off the computer.
Disconnect all connected devices and cables such as Personal Media Drives, USB drives, printers, and faxes. Remove media from internal drives, and remove any recently added internal hardware. Do not disconnect the monitor, keyboard, mouse, or power cord.
    Turn on the computer.
Immediately press the Escape key repeatedly, about once every second, until a Startup Menu or Select boot device menu opens.
The selections you need to make vary slightly depending on the type of menu that appears on your screen:
If a Select Boot Device menu displays, use the up or down arrow key to select the CD/DVD drive, and then press Enter to continue.
If a Startup Menu opens, press F9 to open "Boot Menu" or "Boot Device Options". Use the up or down arrow key to select the CD/DVD drive. Then press Enter.
    plz suggest me .......

  • Won't Boot from recovery disc

First let me say thank you in advance for any light you might be able to shed on my problem.  Here's the problem -
I have a Satellite x205-Sli.  I got an email for a BIOS update so followed the link and proceeded to install.  After trying twice, I kept getting a "not responding" message during installation.  I quit and went into excel.  I find that my keyboard is not working.  I decide to do a system restore and roll back to a time prior to last updates.  I go to the kitchen and come back to find a grey screen.  Nothing is moving, everything appears stuck.  I try to shut down and restart.  Hard drive will not boot.  I get recovery disc and try to boot.  Still no luck.  This is where I am stuck.  I am unsure if my holding down "C" to start from the recovery disc is not being recognized because the keyboard was not working or if there is another issue.  All I know is I cannot get my system to boot at all.  Any ideas or help out there?
    Thanks a ton!!!

Try repeatedly pressing F2 immediately after pressing the power button and see if it will at least take you to the laptops BIOS screen (usually blue with a lot of hardware options).  If you can do this, you could try going back to the toshiba site on a secondary computer, redownloading the BIOS update accept follow the secondary manual install procedure (usually requires a disc to be burned or put on a USB drive).  By not completely loading the BIOS update correctly, you may have corrupted your BIOS firmware which is the essential hard coded software on the motherboard that tells the system how to initially load everything before handing it all off to Windows when windows starts.  All that "start up" form the BIOS is what happens with the laptops POSTs or shows you the "Toshiba" screen initially for 3 to 5 seconds as soon as you turn the system on.  Let me know if this helps.

  • Cannot force destructive system recovery from recovery disc set Pavilion a1630n

I have a Pavilion a1630n.  This desktop originally came with windows xp media center edition 2005.
I had exercised the windows vista home premium express upgrade several/many years ago.
I attempted to  restore the computer after getting malware or virus infected.   I found that microsoft system restore had been turned off and no system restore points were available.   The set of vista system recovery discs that I had made after the os upgrade were also seemingly unuseable.  I attempted to perform a destructive system recovery from the external discs that I had purchased in 2009.  The recovery seemed to take place from the hard drive only and did not request recovery disc 2 or 3.
I now have a windows xp operating system with no files in the hp recovery partition except hidden files.  An attempt to run another recovery returns a message that the recovery partition not found!  no software is available for reinstallation.  hardware tests that I have run show no problems with any hardware.
I've attempted to various combinations of restarts per the support documents wither using the f10 or esc key to no avail.
Ideally I would like to know that the hard drive was successfully formatted and that the recovery takes place from the system recovery discs that I had purchased.  (I'm fairly sure that the discs worked at one point as I used them prior to the windows vista upgrade.)   I believe that the discs are still in good condition as I can browse the discs on the laptop that I am using.  I've also written and read cd's successfully but I have not attempted to read or write a dvd format.

At power on the menu options listed are
    esc Boot Menu
    F1 setup
    F10 Recovery
I tried f9 per your suggestion since this is not a defined key.  I can see the optical drive access the disk with the blinking cursor....after a minute or two the computer boots from the hard drive and does NOT attempt to perform system recovery.
I have set the to boot from the optical drive first (tsst corp ts-h652m)
The optical drive is accessed but eventually (after a minute or two)  the computer boots up from the hard drive.
If I change the bios settings to only boot from the optical drive after a few minutes I receive the following message
" Disk boot failure, Insert system disk and press enter"
    FYI
    drivers in use
    Samsung SP2504C (HDD) uses 5.1.2535.0
Tsst TS-h652m (optical drive) uses 5.1.2535.0
    phoenix bios rev 3.10 12/13/2006
    core rev 6.0
    Any other suggestions ?

  • DV9715nr difficulty booting from recovery disc

I have a DV9715nr running vista home premium (32bit) Phoenix Technologies BIOS version F.27 (Jan 2008)
Hard drive crashed the other day and had difficulties booting from the drive prior to crashing. Replaced hard drive and ordered recovery discs from HP to restor to original config.
First go round had some difficulty booting from the recovery disc but got it, 10+ hours later and it failed....most likely because i was impatient and stopped the FBIgui screen several times. so BOOTMGR is missing pres C,A,D.   so I try to redo the recovery discs. Put in disc, turned off and turned back on. hangs at bios screen and then BOOTMGR error again. went into bios and moved DVD to top slot and same thing. Thought maybe it was DVD rom, so Ii shut down went to pick up an external USB one from walmart, approx 20 mins later got back and tried again without using the external USB, and it worked, but hung up a min later at loading windows files from the disc. Shut down and let sit overnight, retied again this morning and got to the first stage of reformatting, I think (i am not home now) but spoke with my GF who says it is asking for disc 1, which mind you is ALREADY in there. I had her pop the drive and close it again. Dont know what is going on now, but have a feeling it is hanging again, and I cant seem to find anything in any forum post, review or what not about this particular situation.
So to recap I have tried
selecting DVD as first choice to boot from
    Hard reset
looked over all other setting in BIOS (very limited)
    New HDD passed quick test
External USB does no better then the internal (yes even after switching BIOS back to boot from USB first)
Is the BIOS bad? can it overheat? is there a way to flash the BIOS without having an OS installed?
any help would be much appreciated, I am all out of options.
    thanks

Thank you. I have already restored the BIOS to default multiple times. I did not however take out the battery. Took the laptop to a shop this morning to have them take a look as I was up all night dissasemling cleaning fan/heatsink, and reseating cpu with new thermal grease.  That didnt even help.
My friend who works IT thinks the AMD CPU is the problem (Turion TL-60) but I am also researching about the No TPM or TPM has problem. evidentally that may be casusing the miss communication with BIOS and the DVD rom or any USB connected drive.  Also tried a bootbale USB to reflash the BIOS but that didnt work, or I didnt create the bootable USB right.

  • Restoring data from recovery DVD/RW's back onto my laptop.

Compaq Presario CQ61-420US Windows 7 Home Premium-64 bit. I had to do a factory reset to get Windows running again. It crashed and would not reboot for an inknown reason (no new updates or software installed before crash). I created 9 DVD/RW Recovery Discs using Cyberlink before I did the factory reset. How do I get the data off these 9 Recovery discs back onto my laptop?
    Thankl you!

There should be a file titled Restore.exe on the first disk. Browse the disk and find it. Click it to run and it will extract the files to the laptop.

  • Can't download Lion from Recovery Disc

So this all started when i wanted to upgrade to Mountain Lion. I went to the app store and purchased the app and the download started. It took about 45 minutes and when it finished and I tried to install it failed because it said the download was corrupt. I tried three times and had the same result each time. I started troubleshoot and found somewhere where it said to try fixing disc permissions. I went into disc utils and tried to run the verify disc and it failed. I then tried running verify disc and that failed. So then I logged into Recovery Disc and ran Verify disc and it failed again. So I tried running Fix Disc and that failed. At that point I was not able to boot up to anything other than Recovery Disc. If it tried booting up it would start and run for about 20 seconds and then shutdown. At this point I decided to reformat my disc and re-install Lion. I wiped my disc and then used the re-install lion link to start that process. It would tell me it was downloading nessecary components and would start counting down from 1:45 hr it would hit 0 and the counter would start over. It does this about 3 time and then fails saying in could not download the components. I have tried it twice and had the same result. I am now on a differnt computer hoping to get some advice around what to do now. Anyone have any ideas around what I should try next. I am kind of stuck and getting really frustrated. This is the second time I have had major disc related issues. I never had these issues on my windows laptops.

Well in all fairness thinks like this happen to both Windows and Mac OS X.
I suspect your drive is failing. That is why the verify and repair fails and that the original download got corrupted and why now it restarts because it really can't save anything to that drive.
You could Restart from recovery and restart the download point it to an external drive and see if it completes and installs Lion on the external. If it does then good bet the internal drive is TOAST and needs to be replaced.
