Restore data from wiped iPad Retina

I had my iPad stolen a few days ago, and when I got it back it was (off course) wiped clean; I had a version of ios 6, the dude stealing it installed 7.
Now, I don't care about the OS too much, but there were videos and pics in it that I would like to get back. I'm being told that it's impossible to restore them, and it probably is, but I'm not ready to give up quite yet.
I've tried 6-7 different programs to restore the data, but without result. Any ideas as to how I can get my pics/vids back? Is it for example possible to get help from Apple?

Sure, but hard drives and usb sticks are waaay easier to recover data from even if that's the case. Even the content of hdd's that have been in a fire is possible to recover. I would know, I run a data recovery company. We never get any Apple products though, as we specialize in nand flash recovery (ssd's/usb sticks/memory chips).
Do you know if it is true that i-products have some kind of automated software that encrypts old/deleted data? A friend of mine works for Apple, and he said that even if I were to find any data when analysing the iPad it would be jiberish because of the encryption.

Make sure you have the most current version of I tunes for windows on your computer, and just plug the pad in.   Restore from your last back up.

All the data on my Ipad3 is wiped out. is it possible to delete all the data from my ipad if somebody knows icloud-ID and password

It sounds like a remote erase was sent via 'Find My Mac', to check please go to www.icloud.com and login. Is there any data there?
If it was a remote erase only someone who had the ID and password could have done it. And in that case the data is gone, it is not recoverable I'm afraid.

  • How can I restore data from iCloud

My iPad locked up last night and I had to restore to factory settings to make it operable.  During the process it asked me if I wanted to restore my data and it told me that the latest and only backup was from a few minutes before that time which was AFTER all my stuff got wiped out.  I was able to resync some apps and all my music from iTunes, but I lost a ton of pictures and other files that I thought were SUPPOSED to be safe on iCloud.
So I start reading about restoring data from iCloud and apparently Apple only does this on a NEW device.  What a load of crap!
Does anyone have any idea how I can get my data from the stupid iCloud to my stupid iPad?

The "Apple data" such as contacts, calendars, notes, etc. are not backed up to an iCloud backup, since they reside in the special databases on iCloud.  If you delete some data from a device (e.g. one contact), it is deleted from that device, from iCloud's database and thus from all other devices connected to that iCloud account.
Hence performing a restore from an iCloud backup will not help.
However, if that data was ever on a computer (assuming the computer also synced data from iCloud) and if you consistently perform backups using something like Time Machine on a mac or any number of backup programs on Windows, then you should be able to restore the data from that backup.  For example, on a mac, invoke the contacts app then choose Enter Time Machine from the Time Machine icon on the main toolbar.  That will allow you to go back in time and choose an older backup to restore.
If you have an iTunes backup on the computer, I'm not really sure that also includes the Apple data stored on iCloud.  It should have the local data.  For example, Contacts can be under "iCloud" or "On My Mac" (or whatever computer you use).  An iTunes restore should restore the data on your computer.
The whole idea regarding an iCloud backup is that if your device ever fails and must be replaced or reset, the backup will restore all the data as it was at the time of the last backup.   The restore will return all the device's settings such as iCloud login, on/off states of data to connect to (like contacts).  Once that's done, the device will connect to iCloud and download the current data.
    IMPORTANT...
Photos should be regularly synced to a computer (like you store photos from a digital camera) using either USB via iTunes (on a mac use iPhoto or Aperture to move them to an album) or using photo stream.  If you have been doing that, then you can sync those photos back to your device.
If you haven't been saving photos except relying on iCloud to store them in a backup, then that is risky, as many users have discovered.  I'm afraid I have no advice in this case - there is no "cure".

  • How do I transfer all my data from an iPad Air wifi 32 GB to a brand new iPad Air 2 64GB?

I received right now a brand new iPad Air2 wifi 64 GB. How do I transfer ALL MY DATA from another iPad Air wifi 32 GB ?

Back up your old one. I use and prefer iTunes, but back up all the data, etc.
Then unplug it. Plug your new one in and go through the setup steps. When you see the option to set up as new or restore from the backup you just made, choose that and your new iPad will be a near clone of the old one.

By mistake I deleted all my photos from my Ipad Retina Display, I don't have backup. Please, how can I recover them?

If your photos are in iPhoto or on your computer, then they are not lost. If you delete them from the iPad you have a major problem. You can check this out: iPad Data Recovery - Undelete & Rescue Lost Files from iPad.

  • Restore data from iCloud without resetting?

Let me get this straight. If I want to restore data from iCloud, then I will need to reset everything before I can do that? I have some photos that I need to restore, I can not do this in mac (asking for aperture or iphoto, which I refuse to buy, as Apple tries to nickel & dime). If this is correct,  then this is the dumbest idea, and iCloud qualifies to be the worst thing in the history of computers ever!

I have a MacBook Pro. I connect my iPad to the Mac with the USB cable and launch Image Capture. My iPad appears under the Devices heading with the option to import all of the photos - or any combination of them - to any folder on my Mac that I choose.
Did you try connecting the iPad to your Mac and launch Image Capture?
iCloud and iTunes both create full backups of the data and photos that are on your iOS device. The backups are to be used in emergency or troubleshooting situations. These backups are not like having external storage where you can selectively restore content. If your iPad software were to go bad and you needed to restore it, you could restore from the current backup in order to get all of the files and app data back onto the device.
Backups are not the same thing as storage drives where you can drag files onto and off of the drive.

  • Restroing Note data from crashed iPad

    Please help!!
My iPad crashed. The display shows "Connect to iTune" sign, and when connected to iTune, "Restore" button is the only abled menu. "Sync" option is not available. The real problem, is not the crash, but the data back up. I haven't backed up my Note data because I was travelling and didn't have a PC. The Note data is extremely important for me, and I can't bear losing them by restoring the iPad to the original setting to fix the crash.
    1. Is there a way to restore the Note data from a crashed iPad?
    2. When I bought the iPad, I purchased Mobile Me service together. I never figured out how the service worked, but at least i set up my iPad with mobile me account before it crashed. Does it mean that my Note data in iPad has been saved on cloud automatically? If so, how can I access them online? When I tried to log in me.com, the site refuses logging in me saying my "Find my iPhone function is not abled".......
This accident happend while I was traveling in France. I brought it to a French Apple store, called the US Apple technical support, asked around frantically.....No one was able to help me. The Apple community is my last hope
    Thank you all in advance!

    Hi and welcome...
I haven't backed up my Note data because I was travelling and didn't have a PC.
That's going to be a problem. If you hadn't created a backup using iTunes that included your Notes and the iPad has crashed then it's impossible to access that data from the iPad at least.
If you synced with MobileMe there's a chance you can access your Notes online.
Since you are having problems logging into MobileMe, if you have an iPhone turn it off. See if you can login to www.me.com.
Login as you normally would. Now click the blue and white cloud icon top left corner of the window then click iDisk.
If you backed up your Notes using MobileMe, they'll be on your iDisk. MobileMe syncs your data over the air using your wi fi network you use at home or at work. Everything you want synced would have to be checked in the MobileMe preferences window on your PC in order for MME to synchronize the content.
When it's convenient, you can learn more about MobileMe and how it works at MobileMe Support

Transferring your prepaid cellular data account depends on your carrier. AT&T lets you move it yourself when you go to Cellular Data in Settings and log into your account with your previous AT&T user name and password. For iPads with Sprint service, you can set up an account on the new iPad and contact Sprint Customer Care (888-211-4727 and go through the menus) to deactivate the old plan and get credit for unused service. For Verizon, call the company’s customer service number for mobile broadband support (800-786-8419) and ask to have your account transferred.

  • How can I restore data from my iCloud account on a new iPhone 5c with a previous SW version that my old (stolen) iPhone 5?

    Hello everybody,
I need help to restore data from my iCloud account on an unused iPhone 5c because my iPhone 5 with a newer iOS update was stolen. When I try I get a message that I cannot retore my data because the iOS on my iPhone 5c is an older version than on the stolen iPhone 5.
There must be a way to do this. I hope to hear from you
    thanks!

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You cannot. However, you can solve this problem by setting the iPhone as a new device and upgrading iOS in Settings -> Software Update.
After upgrading iOS, open Settings -> General -> Reset -> Erase All Content and Settings. Finally, Setup Assistant will let you restore the backup.

how can i restore data from icloud to iphone

You mean an iCloud backup?  If so, first make sure your phone is running the same or higher version of iOS as the device that backed up was running.  If it isn't, you'll have to update it first in order to restore the backup.
Then go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, go the setup screens on the phone and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup and follow the prompts.  Be sure your phone is connected to wifi and your charger while it is restoring the backup.

No it isn't something you'd find on the computer, it has to be custom installed from the 10.6 installer disc or Software Update if it wasn't before.  It allows you to use older PowerPC applications on your Mac.   On the other hand double check the version of iTunes you have does not require 10.7 minimum either.
