Restore data without iTunes backup

Hello All,
Last night I updated my phone to the latest ios5, but in the process lost all my data (contacts, music, apps, photos), and unfortunately I do not have them backed up on iTunes. So basically, my question is, "Can I recover all my data, or atleat the photos (they r precious....my girl's all first moves are in it) ?".
Thanks,
PJ.

Hello!  I've seen a lot of threads about restoring via iTunes but haven't found my particular situation yet.  So hopefully someone can give me some insight into my predicament.  I updated my iPhone 4S with io7 and my wifi broke.  So I got a new iPhone 4S with ios6 loaded on it.  I want to keep ios6 until Apple can figure out how to fix the wifi/bluetooth chip running hot.  I backed up my phone right before I swapped to the new 4S.  But when I try to restore from backup it won't let me because the backup I did was with ios7 and it wants me to upgrade my ios6 to ios7.  Obviously I don't want to do that only to have my new phone break again.
Options I see is pay for some 3rd party software that can restore my contacts, texts, etc. Upgrade to ios7 and pray it doesn't break again.  Get a new phone.
But I don't like any of those options.  I want to keep ios6 until they make me upgrade it.
    Anyone have any ideas???
    Apreciate the help in advance.

How can I recover my data in notes for iPhone 4s thats without iTune backup.

Sorry saker, but if you have not backed up your data anywhere, and you told the computer, in essence to clear the data and restore it with your iPod data, then you are pretty much out of luck....

  • How do I recover iPhone data without a backup

The iphone was connected to a PC about 6 months ago or more. That system died. Installed iTunes on a laptop. Connected the iPhone, cancel doanload and install software, chose to sync calender and contacts, chose merge. It copied the contacts and calender over from Outlook, but did now merge the 2. The data from the last 6 months is gone. Checked for backups. Tried restoring for eralier backup, same information.
How can I recover the contacts and calender data on the iPhone?
    Thank you in advance.

I have only just noticed urpost, sorry it wasnt sooner, but there is a way around this..! I own an Apple and Blackberry repair company that deals with these issues daily. To recover ur stuff without huge expense there is a piece of software you can use urself and its very simple. Download a piece of software, there are a few to choose from on either mac or pc, called iCare or the better of the two is iPhone backup extractor. the latter of the two will even extract all deleted data from itunes backup folders even if you have deleted those backups..! hope this helps and im not too late..!
    regards

  • Question about Restoring from an iTunes Backup

I just did a restore from an iTunes backup on my iPhone 5 and noticed that the restore process seemed different than before.  iTunes went through the restore process and once it appeared that it had finished restoring, I went to the home screen and all of my apps from the previous backup were missing.  Then iTunes went into the syncing process and I saw each of the apps download onto the home screen one by one. Before I thought the restore process covered all of this in one action, whereas now it seems to do the first part of the restore then the app syncing.  Is this what a normal restore from iTunes backup looks like?

The ability to load OS X Internet Recovery is provided by firmware independent of the SSD. Just make sure your MBP has the latest firmware, which was released years ago.
You won't need a separate step to install OS X. Answered more completely in (2).
Merely format the SSD Use Mac OS X Extended (Journaled) and as many partitions as you desire. One is sufficient.
Only Crucial can answer that. You might be better off purchasing a SSD from a company known to support Macs, such as OWC / MacSales. I have several of their SSD products and haven't had to devote a moment of thought to Trim.
That's done by virtue of the Recovery firmware. It will recognize that no Recovery partition exists and will create one, after which you won't have to use OS X Internet Recovery (though it will remain an option).
If you obtain your SSD from OWC that's really all you need to know. Mechanically, it's not much more complicated than installing memory. As far as recovering the original HD's contents, restoring from the Time Machine backup is also straightforward. TM doesn't know and doesn't care that it's a SSD.

  • Can I restore from an iTunes backup after setting up as a new phone when a full reboot/restore has been carried out?

Can I restore from an iTunes backup after setting up as a new phone when a full reboot/restore has been carried out?

As @wjosten says. Note, however, that it is important to NOT sync the phone after resetting it. A Sync will overwrite the backup that you want to restore.

  • Can You Reset or Restore iPhone without iTunes?

Phone is seriously frozen, Can You Reset or Restore iPhone without iTunes?

I recently had a similar problem, turn the phone off, once off, hold down the home button, until you see a icon of a white usb wire with the words, connect to iTunes.
connect the phone to a usb port on your computer, iTunes will boot up, and the restore process will begin, make certain you are connected to the internet, since, once the process is completed, the phone will require activation, as well as need to download the restore software....

  • Restore from iphone4 itunes backup stops after upgrade to ios6. does it have to do with my computer settings as it starts hanging and cannot connect to the internet anymore either till I restart.

I have the latest version of iTunes and the iOS6 installed on my iPhone4. The restore from my iTunes backup stops at the end of the recovery process though. Do I need to change anything in my computer settings to let it totally finish?

It was down for about 2 weeks when I started to 'play' with the settings. I don't know what I did, but it worked again. The computer stopped working again about a month ago and I just am now getting to it. I don't know what else to do and why it stopped.

  • HT1766 Manually restore data from iTunes to iPhone

My 64 gb iphone 5 had the sleep button defect, and it is being fixed free. They gave me a 16 gb replacement to use until mine is back from being repaired. I backed up my 64 gb to itunes before I let them send it in, but when I try to put everything on the replacement 16 gb, it is to much data and I can not find where I can manually choose what I restore (such as just contacts). That is what I need help with.
However, I want to MAKE SURE that if I restore (only contacts) on this lended iphone, that it will NOT overwrite my original backup on the 64 gb iphone because then I would lose the data that won't fit on the 16 gb. I set the lended iphone up as a new iphone to ensure that it should have seperate backup than my 64 gb iphone, but I wasn't sure if it would overwrite my 64 gb backup once I manually restored it.
If anyone could help, I would realy appreciate it.

No, you've got it right. I used the Restore feature in iTunes to wipe my iPhone. From there, i restored the latest backup (Last Synced- Today) as opposed to creating it as a new device. Now, I want to put the synced data that is in iTunes back onto my iPhone.
What I am worried about is that by pressing "Sync," the data in iTunes will be replaced by the data - or lack there of - on my device. Basically, I want to make sure that by pressing "Sync," my iTunes data isn't going to be deleted.
Thanks for all the help Dave, sorry this is so confusing

  • When restoring phone from iTunes backup can you choose what to put back on phone?

I got the iPhone 6 Plus and instead of restoring from iCloud backup I have to restore from iTunes backup, but I don't want to include my music just to have some more space left on my new phone. Is there a way to restore without my music??

Perhaps I've just confused everyone. In iTunes your media can be checked or unchecked.  Unchecked items are usually not synced. By unchecking media in the library before restoring a device that was previously set up to include media it should be the case that no media is restored during the sync. Once the restore is complete you can then adjust sync options, recheck your content and sync your new selections. Since an entire class of media can be checked or unchecked with a simple ctrl-click this has the potential to speed up the restore phase considerably.

  • Restoring iPhone from iTunes backup

Sorry guys, I'm new to ios. This may sound like a silly question to many of you but I can't seem to get this working.
I seem to have lost my data in iphone 5s. It is asking to either setup as a new phone or restore from itunes backup. The last back i did was today afternoon when everything was intact. But once the iphone was connected to itunes, it automatically started backing up the device with no data (as it was wiped out), now when I attempt to restore from itunes backup all it does is restore from the latest backup.
This afternoon's successful backup does not seem to get listed in the list of backups. Am I doing something wrong? The reason for doing backup is to restore when in need. This does not make any sense to me. Please help.

Thanks @aHmAda1m33. I have installed and checked iTools - the previous successful backup is not listed but all others after reinitializing are listed. I've lost hope now :-(

  • Restoring calender from iTunes backup

    Hi,
I recently replaced my iPhone 4S with a new one at the Apple store. I was using iOS6 in the old phone.
I backed up using iTunes on my computer before taking it to the apple store.
When I connected the new phone, it asked me to update to iOS7. I did.
And then when I tried to restore my data from earlier backup, a message popped up saying my backup was not compatible.
However, I got most of my apps, contacts, mail and notes back.
Yet, I could not recover my calender events.
Please help me get my calender events back on my phone.
    Thanks.
    -Rajesh
