Restore default setting in macbookair

I have a new macbookair, with no important data on it. My friend allredy enter his username and password and doing all the fresh install setting. I am new to OSx at all, Is there a way to restore the mac to default setting?
I want it to be like immidiate after the installation...

Depends on how complete you want to reset the MBA.
You can do minimal cleanup by restarting and holding the Command and R keys, then from the Utilities selections choose Install Mac OS X. That will reinstall Mac OS X but keep the settings you now have.
You can restore the MBA to the way it came from Apple by doing the above restart using Command and R, but from the Utilities choose Disk Utility. Select the internal storage, and then choose Erase. That will completely erase the internal storage. Then Quit Disk Utility and select Install Mac OS X. That will reinstall Mac OS X but the machine will be as it came from Apple and you will have to do the entire setup again. Install users, install mail, and so on.

To restore your interface layout, go into ''View > Toolbars > Customize... > Restore Default Set''.
If you can't see the menu bar, press ALT or F10 in your keyboard to make it temporarily visible. If you want it to be permanently visible, go into ''View > Toolbars > Menu Bar'', or right-click the Navigation Toolbar (the Reload button, for example) and select ''Menu Bar''.
If this doesn't help, right-click the navigation toolbar, select ''Customize...'' and click ''Restore Default Set''. If it doesn't appear right away, try pressing ALT or F10. You can go into ''View > Toolbars > Menu Bar'' to make it permanently visible, or right-click the Navigation Toolbar and select ''Menu Bar''.
If none of this helps, you may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Try disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal.

Unable to restore default newtab setting

Since a few days ago, the settings for opening a new tab in firefox have changed to redirect me to
"http://www.4-you.net/". I have tried using the About:config menus to restore the default newtab page, and also attempted to use a "restore all defaults" add-on to the browser, but neither method solved the problem. Can someone help me get rid of this annoying new setting and restore the default setting?

I ran the "Hitman" program, and while it seems to have removed some threats, I have still been unable to resolve the problem. The new tab still goes to the incorrect place, and I am still unable to effect a change to the setting via the About:config menu.

Why did iphone 4s only restore the default setting

I had a problem with my iphone 4s restoration. I tried to unlock my phone becaue I have been with my contract for over one year. Following the instruction received from Apple, I first backed up my iPhone 4s to iTune and then erased all content and setting by going to Setting ->General -> reset > Erase All Content and Setting. When it completed, I got a message my phone has been unlocked and ask them if I want to restore my backup. But after the restoration completed, I found it only restored the default setting and content. All the apps I downloaded were not there. Can anyone tell me why this happened and how can I get all my apps back?

Has anyone seen this message on E72 ?
I have had my E72 for abt a month. After much struggle and trial/errors I had got most of the stuff working (email etc.).
HOWEVER, I made the big mistake of accepting the firmware v 023.xx upgrade. It never completed the update successfully (the USB connection kept getting lost).
But the worst part is I am now getting these random messages when I am simply scrolling thru' the menu items.
"Item no longer available. Restoring default key setting".
Has anyone seen this message on E72 ? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
When I check the firmware it still shows 021.024 dated 17-Oct-2009.

Did you upgrade using OVI or NSU? I did upgrade mine to 023.002 with NSU 2.4.1. If you use Vista or 7 as OS, make sure you have Administrator right while installing OVI, PC Suite, or NSU.
During the installation, the phone disconnected. I remove the USB connection and the battery as well, then plug the USB and battery in then click Retry. It worked after 2 times remove and plug-in.
I never seen the message you have before. I think it is because the firmware upgrade didn't finish successfully. And for USB keep disconnected, try use other USB port and make sure it is direct connection from PC to E72 without using any USB hub.

TS3579 I found this useful because I did not know about the effect of typing in data and that you could only drag to rearrange the data. I had typed in data before and this had caused problems but restoring defaults did not cause correct dates to show up

I found this (TS3579: If the wrong date or time is displayed in some apps on your Mac Learn about If the wrong date or time is displayed in some apps on your Mac) useful because I did not know about the effect of typing in data and that you could only drag to rearrange the data. I had typed in data before and this had caused problems but restoring defaults did not cause correct dates to show up in Finder.

It sounds like there are a couple things going on here. First check if you have a successful install of SQL Server, then we'll figure out the connection issues.
Can you launch SQL Server Configuration Manager and check for SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER) if default instance or SQL Server (other name) if you've configured your instance as a named instance. Once you find this, make sure the service is started.
If not started, try to start it and see if it throws an error. If you get an error, post the error message your hitting. If the service starts, you can then launch SSMS and try to connect. If you have a default instance, you can use the machine
name in the connection dialog. Ex: "COWBOYS" where Cowboys is the machine name. However, if you named the SQL Server instance during install, you'll need to connect using the machine\instance format. Ex: COWBOYS\Romo (where Romo
is the instance name you set during install).
You can also look at the summary.txt file in the SQL Server setup error logs to see what happened on the most recent install. Past install history is archived in the log folder if you need to dig those up to help troubleshoot, but the most
recent one may help get to the bottom of it if there is an issue with setup detecting a prior instance that needs to be repaired.

How to go back to default setting in a menu for a mac?

I was wondering if for example I went in system prefrneces and change some options for my mouse. How would I be able to get back to the default setting of my mouse in sysytem prefrences so thing could go back to the way it wa roiginal set. Is this possible on mac?
I know on windows for many options they have restore default settings on mac I dont see that option.

**** that *****. In windows its just one button click to do that. Although I like mac's a lot more, I feel this feature should be incorporated to a future update.

Change default setting for "Repeat All Songs on Album"

It seems that the default setting for my iPod Touch is to play all songs on the album, then repeat at track one of the same album. It is easy enough to shut this option off while playing the music, but I was wondering if there was a way to set the default setting, so instead of always assuming I want to repeat all tracks on the album (I seldom or never do) the default setting will be to just play the album one time through.

Repeat (and Shuffle) always stays how you last set it. You're either touching the button by mistake, or perhaps you need to reset (or restore) the Touch.
Another thought ... if you plug the Touch into an accessory such as a car with an iPod interface, sometimes that puts the Touch into Repeat mode (my Honda does that). Are you doing something like this?

Menu->Tools->Settings->General->Personalization->
One-touch keys->Messaging key->Short press
Select "Camera", or "Clock" (I'm actually trying GMail, but maybe you don't have it installed).
Go back to the main screen, press the Messaging one-touch key.
I get:
"Item no longer available. Restoring default key setting"
I found a similar report for the E65 on the web (no solution).
The local Nokia support asked me to "send the phone to a repair center" because at the support center they "don't have a E71 to try that" (!!)
Mine is a 10-day old E71-3 (850/2100, Brazilian WCDMA band), 100.07.76 fw (no update available for its 0567733 product code).
Any hints?

Windows 7 firewall fails to restore default policy error 3

Currently, I am using Windows 7 32bits OS.
First, I found that my Network Discovery won't stay ticked. After some troubleshooting on network problems, I found that my windows firewall is configurated wrongly.
Next, I tried to restore default policy of windows firewall through Windows Firewall with Advanced Security. But it failed (msg:Could not restore the default policy Error:3).
Then, I tried to use "netsh advfirewall reset" in cmd. However, the result is still the same (An unrecoverable Windows Firewall error <0x3> occured).
I had also tried the methods suggested in <<Windows Firewall damaged by 'Windows 7 antivirus 2012'>>
But the problem still cannot be solved.
Will anyone help me please??

The ehow article is erroneous. There is no "reset" command in the advfirewall context. "reset" was part of the deprecated "firewall" context.

We have difficulty in using the printer for "photocopy" purposes. This is because our printer doesn't have "specific options" for paper sizes. When copying, the only option default in our printer was : A4 plain, A4 photo & 4 x 6.. Our question is, how can we have the "specific options" for paper sizes ( legal, letter, or A4 size )?
