Restore Deleted iCloud Contacts

I unclouded 1 of my iPhones a few monthes ago.  Yesterday, on my clouded iPhone, I deleted contacts.  My other iPhone re-clouded (somehow) and also had those contacts deleted.  I backup my clouded iPhone on my Macbook Pro weekly, and I have Time Machine for my Macbook Pro.  I currently have Mountain Lion on my Macbook Pro.  How can I retrieve the deleted contacts?

On your Mac, using your Time Machine back up.
    •    Disconnect from the Internet
    •    Restore from backup
    •    Export the contacts (don't archive) to your desktop
    •    Re-enable your Internet connection (contacts will disappear from your address book)
    •    Import the contracts you have exported to your desktop

How are you trying to delete them, and what error messages are you seeing when you do?

  • Can I recover deleted iCloud contacts?

I accidentally deleted all my contacts in my Mac Address Book, and (since everything is synced with iCloud) that subsequently removed the contacts from all my devices and icloud.com.
I have an iCloud backup for my iPhone from before I deleted my contacts. However, as I understand it, that backup is just a backup of my apps and settings (for example the setting that says use iCloud for Contacts). So when I restored from that iCloud backup, I still didn't have my contacts. I see the reasoning behind this, since iCloud itself is essentially the "back up" for your actual contacts data. But if a contact gets deleted from iCloud (which happened since I deleted contacts on a synced Address Book), how do I recover it?

    Hi All,
I found the solution, i just tried it and it worked, hence thought of sharing it, to save you guys buying apps and etc.
Case :  In iCloud settings, i turned Contacts OFF and it asked to delete and i agreed, only then to realise that it was the wrong account, i wanted to turn off email contacts but instead chose iCloud.
    Resolution  :
    1. Go to www.icloud.com ASAP.
    2. Enter your Apple ID credentials ( same used in iphone )
    3. Select Contacts.
    4. Select All contacts ( By pressing CMD+A )
    5. After all contacts are highlighted, on the below left corner, click on the Options.
    6. Select Export contacts vcf.
    7. It will automatically download to the Downloads folder.
    8. Automactically Contacts app will open and ask if you would like to import this contacts on ur MAC. Select NO.
    9. Locate the Export contacts.vcf in Download folder, select it , right click it, and share it through Email.
    10. Send an email to yourself.
    11. Open the email, open the attachment ( which  would the contacts )
    12. Select Add all contacts, select as New contacts.
    13. All contacts will be added automatically, only the photos will dissappear.
Note : I have tried the above resolution only on iPhone, i have not deleted contacts from iMac, and tried the same.
Hope this helps, i could have restored the iphone also , but this was much quicker.

  • Itunes restore deleted icloud restore

    Hi,
I'm facing a bit of a problem here.
I had two separate backups, each containing different data, one using itunes and one using icloud.
Once I had my new iphone I restored using icloud first, faced no problem there. I then restored using itunes, you know to get the other data. this deleted the data from the first icloud restore.
I beleive I did this they wrong way, any way I can fix it?
Any way I can get the data from the icloud back again?
help would be very much appreciated!

Next time do backups on both (iCloud and iTunes) so that the data is the same.
Or not ... sometimes it is preferable to have a different backup in case something goes awry.  I do my daily backups through iTunes, but once a month (or more frequently) I will do an iCloud backup which can not only serve to rescue me if I need to restore while away from home, it can also get me back to a known state in case a corrupted state gets into my daily backup.

  • Can i restore back iCloud contacts?

After trying to get 3 macs and 2 iPhones up to speed and sync'ed with Lion/iOS 5, I find that my contacts have been mutilated (approx. 500 of them, 1/3 of total) deleted. This mangled set is now consistent across all devices.  I would back up my phone from iCloud and hope I could use that to propagate the repair to other devices (but could I declare which device has the desired  data set), but I believe iCloud backup of iPhone only grabs account settings, not the data itself. If that's true, it's a useless policy once an error has propagated through all devices.
So, is there a way to roll back contacts data that had been correct a few hours ago on iCloud?
    Thanks.

Then don't use iCloud, archive your contacts and sign out of iCloud, restore them to Outlook after you have done that.

  • TS4605 restore deleted icloud calendar

I was on my laptop and accidentally deleted my main icloud calendar (which synchs across my iphone and ipad)
I took my calendar on my laptop off-line, and then I grabbed my iphone and restored it from the latest icloud backup (which was 10pm last night - so I'd only lose any calendar changes I made in the last day).
The restore worked, but my main icloud calendar (and all of the data) are still missing?!
Help! I can't make it to the Genius bar for 2 days and I need my calendar now! I am lost without it.
I don't care what device the calendar gets put back on - I just need it on at least one!
    Suggestions?
    Thanks!

The backup to iCloud is done only if you have set it up.

  • Restore deleted ICloud Calendar (NO backup!)

I accidentally deleted my ICloud calendar (IPhone on in my pocket!).  I do not have a Time Machine backup (I know, I know).  Am running OS 10.7.4 on an IMac, IBook and an IPhone.  Most recent .icbu file is from 01.2012 so not a perfect restore option.  Is there a backup on the ICloud?  Somewhere else?

  • Any way to restore deleted iCloud folder?

Through a series of unfortunate events, the entire Pages folder was deleted from iCloud on my Mac. I went to my Time Machine, and somehow, despite backing up less than a month ago, the (very very very important) documents I needed are seven-year-old versions of itself. I (thought I was) carefully backing up all my computer documents and Cloud folders to Time Machine, but they're not there. I have gone to the latest backup folder and nothing - everything is years old.
Is there absolutely anything I can do to recover the files or the whole folder? Any help at all is appreciated.

How did you go to the latest back folder? Did you open time Machine to browse the backup?  The iCloud documents are stored in a hidden part of your user library. You do not see them, if you open your Time Machine backups in the Finder. You need to enter Time Machine.
Open iCloud Drive in the Finder and connect your Time Machine volume.
Then enter Time Machine from the Dock or menu bar.
You will now see the Time Tunnel. Go back in Time, until you see your Pages documents.
You may need to upgrade to the latest Yosemite Release 10.10.2 for this to work.

  • How do I stop icloud contacts from overwriting or superseding iphone contact entrees

If i enter a new contact on my Iphone it eventualy gets wiped out (Deleted).  i assume this is because it does not exist on the cloud.  If i enter a new contact in the cloud, it emediatly apears on my Iphone.  Nice!  i like that, but i want to be able to enter new contact info on my Iphon too and have it appear in the cloud contacts.  Is this posible?

If you are trying to restore your contacts from an iCloud backup, you have to follow the steps in this user tip: Recovering deleted iCloud contacts from an iCloud backup.  This involves disabling your internet connection just after your device restarts as it is backing up, then turning off iCloud syncing on your device and keeping a copy of your contacts on it when prompted.  Then you can restore the internet connection, allow you device to re-connect to iCloud and finish restoring.  Then delete any contacts from iCloud.com*, turning contacts syncing on again in Settings>iCloud and choose Merge at the prompt.
    * If the contacts on iCloud.com are not contained in the backup, you can download them as a vCard as explained here before deleting them: iCloud: Export contact information as a vCard.  Then you can import this vCard back to your iCloud account as explained here: iCloud: Import a vCard after you're done merging the restored contacts from your phone as discussed above.

  • I lost my iCloud contact info

    Please help me!
I went to iCloud and by mistake erase all the contacts, and they are not back up on my iTunes. When I saw my iPhone there where no contacts any more. Hoy can I get them back? Is there a back up of the iCloud that apple have?
    Thanks!

Apple doesn't back up your account.  However, if you backed up your phone to iCloud before this happened, you may be able to restore the contacts from the backup by following Winston Churchill's user tip here: Recovering deleted iCloud contacts from an iCloud backup.

  • HT204150 i have deleted all contacts in icloud but still have them on my iphone (which is backed up as well to iTunes) how can i restore the iphone data to the iCloud so it will resend it to my mac book and iPad?

i have deleted all contacts in icloud but still have them on my iphone (which is backed up as well to iTunes) how can i restore the iphone data to the iCloud so it will resend it to my mac book and iPad? I have switched my iphone to airplane mode so it is not connected to the internet and so icloud can not wipe it at the moment.
    thanks roy

There's a menu choice (I think under "Files") that lets you sync purchased items on a device back to itunes.  Look for that.
iCloud does not store music.  If you want to do that you'd have to subscribe to itunes Match, but to get music to the match servers, you need the music in the itunes library on your computer.

  • How to restore a deleted iCloud backup? I deleted the backup to free up the 5 GB free storage and now on my iPhone some of my Contacts are missing a phone

How to restore a deleted iCloud storage backup?
I deleted it all to free up the free 5 GB storage and now on my iPhone 5s some of my Contacts are missing a phone # info and some of the Contacts are missing entirely. Thank you.

I used this to restore my deleted notes from Time Machine, hope this helps others
    closed Notes,
    turned WiFi off,
entered finder/go+option/ to 'get to library':  /Library/Containers/com.apple.Notes/Data/Library/Notes/
entered TM and selected the 3 files/ hit restore/ keep both (just to make sure, then I deleted the newer file, not the 'restored' file when this worked out)
opened notes and my deleted notes were back so I copied my notes into pages as a backup,
turned on WiFi and the notes disappeared!
replaced my restored notes by copy/pasting my backups into notes/iCloud....
notes/mac would not show across iCloud.... don't remeber this being an issue prior to Mavericks when 'all' notes were selected?
Apple needs to hear from us so they can fix glitches like this.  TM was created for instances like this, hopefully this is just an oversite.  Pass this along to Apple Feedback/iCloud/bug.  If enough of us flag such issues, hopfully it's addressed on the next update.
Dear Apple, this should be much easier than it is. We should be able to open Notes, go into Time Machine, and restore anything regardless if it's on my Mac or on the cloud.

  • How do I restore deleted contacts? I had backed up my iPhone on iCloud. Later used the application 'Contacts Duster' to delete or merge around 1900 contacts. Today I updated to iOS 7.1, after which I found many of my contacts are now missing. Please help!

I had backed up my phone on iCloud. Later (on 11March '14) I used the application 'contacts duster' to delete/merge nearly 1900 contacts. Today(ie 13 March '14) I updated to iOS 7.1 after which I noticed many contacts are now missing. Is there any way I can now restore my lost contacts? Also, can this be done without a backup computer?

    Hi Thebuddies,
Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like some contacts have been lost. I know losing data can be stressful, and it's good that you had a backup in iTunes.
If you receive a message that there is not enough free space to restore the backup, I recommend going through the steps in this article:
If you can't back up or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod using iTunes - Apple Support
Start with "Copy your backup" and go through the steps including "Free up space."
Note that with this method, any content or data added to your iPhone since making the backup will be removed from the device.
    Best Regards,
    Jeremy
