Restore from iCloud did not bring back settings or my paid apps

My iPad was acting up so I restored it. I kept getting backup errors from my computer so I synced to iCloud, which was successful, then did are store. After 24hours, it still hasn't brought back many of the apps.  They just sit there greed out and say waiting.  The restore did not bring back my wife's recipes in Recipe box (she is not happy!) nor did it restore any of my settings.  Is there any way to get these back?

  • IPhone restore from backup did not restore apps, photos, etc. What can I do?

Here is what I am dealing with. I have a black iPhone 4 and my girlfriend has a 3GS. She was eligible for an upgrade and let me use it to get the new white iPhone 4, and I would give her my black iPhone. I backed up both of our phones to iTunes last night in preperation for getting the new phone. Today, I restored my old iPhone 4 from her back up (from the 3GS). Everything went well and she  has all her apps, photos, etc. I, however, restored my new white iPhone from my back up and was not so lucky. I lost all my photos, apps, music, etc. Anything I can do?

roaming, are you sure?  paulcb just posted this to another topic when i asked him if photo's are saved in an iTunes backup of the iPhone.

  • HT201269 When setting up my new iphone 5 from another iphone 5 (different carrier) I omitted to click on - Restore from iCloud back up. Now I can't see how to do it automatically. Is there a way of doing it after already connecting to iTunes?

After connecting my new iphone 5 to iTunes, I did not choose restore from iCloud Backup or iTunes Back up. I just clicked on New iPhone, because I was installing a new iphone 5 with a different carrier and sim etc. Now I don't have the option to go back. I have backed up my old phone to iCloud, so should I click on - Restore iPhone to get all the saved data from iTunes?

I found the answer in another discussion group, so I have just erased everything through settings on my new iphone and in Backups on itunes, I have clicked on restore back up. So it appears to be working.

  • HT4859 how do you know what is backed up/restored from iCloud

How do you know what items are backed up to iCloud and also if the restore is correctly restored from iCloud. Are applications also backed up to iCloud

    What is backed up
You get unlimited free storage for:
Purchased music, movies, TV shows, apps, and books
Notes: Backup of purchased music is not available in all countries. Backups of purchased movies and TV shows are U.S. only. Previous purchases may not be restored if they are no longer in the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBookstore. Some previously purchased movies may not be available in iTunes in the Cloud. These movies will indicate that they are not available in iTunes in the Cloud on their product details page in the iTunes Store. Previous purchases may be unavailable if they have been refunded or are no longer available in the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBookstore.
You get 5GB of free iCloud storage for:
Photos and videos in the Camera Roll
Device settings (for example: Phone Favorites, Wallpaper, and Mail, Contacts, Calendar accounts)
    App data
    Home screen and app organization
    Messages (iMessage, SMS, and MMS)
    Ringtones
The following items are not backed up to iCloud. You can sync these items with a computer using iTunes:
Music, movies and TV shows not purchased from the iTunes Store
    Podcasts and audio books
Photos that were originally synced from your computer

  • HT4859 How do you get to setup, or otherwise get to the restore from iCloud feature

The standard help about using iCloud to restore from iCloud does not detail how you actually do a restore -

If you phone is already set up you have to erase it and go back through the setup screens to access you iCloud backup.  If you have any data on your phone now that is not in the backup that you want to save you'll need to do that first.  Then go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings.  You will then go through the setup screens as you did when the phone was new. When given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup (see image below).  Be sure you are connected to wifi and your charger as this will take some time to finish.

  • HT201269 I followed the steps But I did not get back all the aps?

I followed the steps But I did not get back all the aps?

Apps have never been included in the backup of the device.
Are the apps in the iTunes library on your computer?  iTunes can only sync apps to a device that are in the iTunes library.

  • I purchased an iPhone 3 and had photos on it. Started having issues within 30 days and could replace it. Moved photos to back up on iCloud. did not restore new phone from back up how can i save the new photos and retrieve the old ones?

I purchased an iPhone 3 and had taken some photos on it. I started having issues within 30 days and could replace it. So I created an iCloud account and  saved those photos as a back up on iCloud. I did not restore my new phone from back up because I did not realize I needed to restore and not just activitate it. How can I save the new photos, apps, and other stuff but retrieve the old photos?

If all you want is your old photos, you could backup your new phone using iTunes, then restore it from your iCloud backup, import the old photos to your computer, then restore it from the backup your made in iTunes returning your newer data to your phone.  If you want your old photos on your phone, sync them there from your computer using iTunes.  The process would look like this:
Connect your phone to your computer, when it appears in iTunes on the left sidebar right-click on it and select Transfer Purchases; right-click again and select Backup.
Disconnect from your computer and go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content and Settings to return it to new
Go through the activation setup, choosing to Restore from iCloud backup.  Make sure your phone is plugged into a charger and has access to wi-fi as this can take hours to complete.
When complete, without connecting your phone to your computer, open iTunes and go to Preferences.  On the Devices tab check "Prevent...from syncing automatically"
Now import the old photos to your computer (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083)
When done, open iTunes, right-click on the name of your phone on the left sidebar and select Restore from Backup, choose the backup you made in step 1.
Go to the Photos tab and select the photos you want to sync to your phone and sync.

  • Camera Roll not restoring from iCloud back-up

Due to an extremely large amount of "other" on my iPhone 5 I decided to reset / delete and restore from iCloud. Camera roll IS turned on in my cloud back-up, and I backed it up just before reset / delete phone.
When I restore from iCloud back-up everything works perfectly except my camera roll reloading. It just continues to say 'Downloading" (with the little circle thing going round & round) with no change or progress. It never says "downloadng xx of xxx" or anything like that. The photo stream has restored with no problem.
I hope I can restore the camera roll because it has videos that aren't saved anywhere else, but if not how the heck do I stop the "downloading..." at the bottom of the camera roll folder and get on with my life? Any help will be much appreciated.

Actually I posted here only after trying ezjules suggestions  No luck.  Even stranger is that even after I "stopped restoring" my camera roll is acting the same,; still says Downloading at the bottom. Strange.. Here is a screen shot after I have stopped the restore in settings.

during a software update, i lost all my apps. restore did not bring them back, how do i get my apps back?

Your apps will only be where you put them.  if you failed to put them on your computer beore updating, then they would certainly be gone.
    You can redownload them:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • I recently removed an outlook account and now all of my calendar events are missing. The majority of them were added from my iphone 4s. How do I retrieve the events? Backing up with iCloud did not help, as I assumed it would.

Outlook is a mail client for PC's (and Macs). It is not a type of account. Do you mean an "Exchange Account"?
If so, then re-add it. The calendar events live on the Exchange Server. The only way to get them back is to re-add the account to the phone. The contents of Exchange and IMAP accounts are not part of the 'backup' as they already exist elsewhere.

Try restoring the backup again.  Your apps and other purchased media should have been restored from your backup if they were on your old phone when you backed it up.

  • I just recently restored from icloud but my passkeeper app did not restore.  I lost all my passwords.  is there a way to rerestore to get that info?

Please, I am wondering if there is chance that i will be able to retreive my info.  I restored from icloud.  the app that did not restore is "passkeeper".  It's a password storage app that works really well.  Tha problem is that it did not restore.

Do you recall what you did? if you remove an extension through the Add-ons page or use Firefox's Reset feature, normally your passwords are preserved. Not sure what else would have been recommended.
